my name is Jesse anel and I've sold over $10 million worth of print products on Etsy and Amazon through my own storefronts my top seven clients have generated a collective $25 million in etsp sales and are rapidly growing today so what is it that allows myself and my clients to generate such massive results in today's market While others decline well what if I told you that there are three key areas that many pod sellers are failing in and if you had some inside knowledge things would begin to click and say would start to flow so
with that being said it's time to sit up and focus up because I'm launching my first ever teaching series called Etsy pod Secrets where together we're going to make your wildest pod dreams come true Did you know that Etsy titles and tags are the most important part of your Etsy print on demand business and the reason for this is that without the proper keyword usage formatting and structure your products will never reach the total number of vires you open to reach and your conversion rate is going to be far lower than expected so in this
first video of this three-part series we're doing a deep dive on everything keyword related for your Etsy print on demand business and I have one big promise for you that this information I'm covering today you will not be able to find it elsewhere because this is the formatting this is the structure this is the method of what a seven fig pod seller does with Etsy titles and tags so titles and tags importance the potential of of your pod business is no more and no less than the total amount of search volume you leverage because you
are selling on a platform now this platform happens to have a 100 million buyers on it year in and year out so it's a lot of people that are searching for things that you can offer and there's a lot of overlap in those searches as well so with this being said what is the number one driving factor to get your products in front of those eyes the viewership all these different baros on Etsy well the number one factor is how you leverage your titles and T now you could do an amazing job with your front
photo your design build out you could have the best pricing structure in the world you could be in the perfect section on Etsy you could have great offer tactics apply to your listing everything could be perfect however if you mess up your titles and tags you are not going to reach the correct buyers or enough buyers or whatever it may be your business on the front end the input to your business is going to be too low so you may notice hey my conversion rate's okay my you know sales are okay but I feel like
I'm just not getting seen and this is because you don't understand how to properly leverage your titles and takes so they are the number one driving factor to be able to get rank in the first place to be able to index all throughout search and to be able to drive consistent sales day in and day out so now that you understand the importance of titles and tags and how they directly impact the potential of your pod business I want to introduce you to an idea that I call titles to tags to front photo relevancy now
these three components are extremely important to understand how they tie into one another now there should be no breakage in relevancy between these three they're all one in the same and I want you to remind yourself over and over and over again that your front photo in your design your title and your tags are all the exact same thing except the design and your front photo Pho is the visual aspect your actual offer itself now that offer sits in the abyss where your titles and tags are the exact same thing but they're the director they're
the driver they're the vehicle that allows those correct customers again correct customers to find your product so with this being said whatever you put in your title and tag should be exactly the same as your front photo your product type and your design is showing so there should be zero breakage and relevancy if you can Master this you're going to be able to position your products in front of the correct buyers so to help you understand this concept better I put together a visual representation right here of a front photo title instead of tags that
have no breakage in relevancy so of course we're going to get into exactly how to build out a great title and a great set of tags and all the components and secret suu that goes into it because there is much much more than meet the in this case of why this is a great structure for it but I want you to lock in this framework now because it will serve you a lot as you go through this training so if you're to look at this front photo and you're to look at this title and you're
to look at these tags what you'll notice is if you isolate each of them individually you'll notice that there is no breakage in the relevancy so we have over here a mama shirt that says established 2024 now if you were to ask yourself what that micro Market is for this product the answer would be a new mom shirt so that's really we have we have a new mom shirt so that means that every one of our tags and all of our phrases in our title need to directly tie into the product and the design itself
a new mom shirt and if you look through these you'll notice that there is no breakage in the relevancy and I did not sacrifice any search F so we'll get into exactly how to do this but I want you to understand this framework on the front end because it'll serve you a lot as the trading continues so relevancy over search volume so did you know that it is okay to lose search volume in order to gain relevancy in return and you may be asking like but why Jesse that doesn't make any sense you told me
that my business is no more and no less than the total amount of surge flam that I leverage and that is 100% right however you should only be ever focusing your time on what I call high potential products these are products that you vetted out ahead of time that you know the product you're working on and developing is highly in demand on the platform or else why would you sell it in the first place so if you don't know how to do that go watch my free course I walk you through exactly how to build
out high potential product lists so you can make sure that all the work all the time the effort The Blood Sweat and Tears that you pour into your business is done on products with potential but once you've solidified that this product does have potential that you're working on you need to revert to relevancy and the reason for this is that when you revert to relevancy you directly impact the most important metrics on your listing for the Etsy algorithm so this will directly impact your click-through rate your conversion rate and you return on ad spin with
Etsy ad so the broader you go with your keywording if you're someone who just chases after search volume only these metrics will drop you may show up in search but the percentage of people who actually click on your product over others will be lower because your product is less relevant you may get some people to actually start clicking on it in the first place but it's not really what they're looking for so your conversion rate will suffer so that all directly correlates into your ad spend so then your ad spend will also be really high
and your sales will be really low so your return on ad spend will suffer so remind yourself you are on a platform this platform has an algorithm that loves good engagement so if you've already Ved out the product ahead of time you need to revert to relevancy so you have a high click through rate high conversion rate and a high return on ad spend so if you have healthy metrics Etsy will reward you by showing your products to more potential buyers by giving you rank so you want to focus on relevancy say why front photo
to titles to tags are so important in the first place and how it will be such a big factor to actually get consistent sales in your business so what resources do you need to create great titles and great tags for your Etsy listing Well there are four main resources that I'm going to give you to utilize to create great keywording for your products so number one is product category keywords number two is the keyword brancher tool number three is relevant competitor ranked terms and number four is reading the Etsy search bar now I'm sure you're
like what in the world did you just say so I'll break down each of these specifically and what they actually are so first off product category keywords or PKS pck are consistently used Universal based terms for a specific product category so imagine you're selling a t-shirt on Etsy within that product category or product type there's going to be consistently used terms no matter what a buyer is looking for within that product type they're used over and over and over over again so the example here for some pck for the shirt product type you're looking at
shirt T no space shirt T hyphen shirt t space shirt t with two e and top these are some examples of some product category keywords for the product type of t-shirts that whether someone's looking for a mom shirt a sloth shirt a cactus shirt a flamingo shirt it doesn't matter what it is they're going to use these these product category keywords in order to find them in the first place next we have the keyword brancher tool now the keyword brancher tool is a framework I created that allows you to do two main things number one
is on the front end of making a great listing with a great set of titles and tags you have to go through kind of a brainstorming activity this is a great way to get keywords moving and second to make sure you're maximizing your reach in the search categories that matter the most which are what is the product who is the product for who's the product from is there an event this product is for and is there any descriptive terms that I miss that correlate directly to my design so if you use this on the front
end of every single listing you're making you're going to extend your reach and maximize it and you're also going to brainstorm a lot of keywords to then go test and vet out on Etsy to make sure if they're a good fit for your product then we have competitor ranked terms now competitor rank terms are some of the most valuable keywords you can use for your product because if you find exactly where competitors ranked you'll find exactly where they're making their sales through so remind yourself rank equals sales velocity so in order to find War competitors
ranked all you need to do is go into either an incognito window or a private browsing window and this is because we do not want Etsy tracking you as a buyer we want to see the most realistic version of rank and by doing that you'll see the most realistic version of rank and type in whatever phrases are in their title and whatever tags they're using and with finding those terms then you'll have found where they're making 80 to 90% of their sales and with this being said if they're a top competitor that's hyper relevant to
your product these keywords are already verified for you to use and you don't need to second guess them now one quick note I wanted to make as we jump into this content is that I'm actually giving away one free spot in my program Inner Circle prints where you get strategic product type fulfillment worldclass pod education and a $11,000 sales guarantee now this one lucky winner will be announced at the end of this three-part series and all you need to do to enroll into this contest is comment your story below so I can learn a little
bit about you and where you're at in your pod journey and then watch each video all the way through and then last but not least we have the Etsy search bar so why is the Etsy search bar such a valuable resource when it comes to creating titles and tags for your product well the Etsy search bar gives you two main things number one it's giving you real time Etsy Shopper terms so when you go to type something in and nothing pops up below it you automatically know no one's actually searching for that however if you
type in a different term and you see four results pop up underneath it that's telling you there's actual demand for that those autopop populated terms are from real customers or real people typing in terms to the Etsy search bar second is you get search volume ratios is what I call it because the term that pops up above one term has more searches on a monthly or weekly basis than the terms below it so Etsy is always PR prioritizing the terms that are being typed in over and over and over again first and the terms that
have a little bit less and a little bit less and a little bit less and a little bit less that are populated underneath go in that order so again more search volume up top less search volume down below on that search bar now if you continue adding in other longtail terms you're going to get additional results to see and if you use the everb extension they'll give you an estimate on monthly searches as well so using everb like you can see in my example down here you can see that mom shirt has an estimated 4,300
searches per month then, 148 for mom shirt funny and only 140 for mom shirt bestseller so helps you to continue that prioritization process of which one's most important so read the search bar extract out those realtime buyer searches and use it as a ratio method to understand which one is more in demand than another term all right so now that you understand the resources you need to create great titles and tags now we need to go over some formatting so you know put these terms into action so starting with Etsy title formats it's really important
to dial this in so you need to replay this part over a few times definitely do it and anchor in the formatting of what makes a great title so first and foremost the first four terms you use in your title are the most important terms ETS deem these to be the most important to give your listing potential to rank to index to be seen for those first four terms matter the most so those should be your highest volume slash most relevant terms again it's a combination of the two you can't just go to search volim
only and you can't just go to relevancy only so typically it's pretty simple you usually start out with a main descriptive term and a main product category keyword to get it going that ties directly into your product but those first four terms are the most important for your product next the importance of your title goes from front to back so when you're looking at your title Etsy is going to prioritize your front half of your title much more than the back half and it works keyword by keyword by keyword by keyword each phrase that you
do as you get further away from the front those are going to be less prioritized with etsy's algorithm so make sure you're putting those important keywords first those top competitor rank terms you need to have those higher up the ones that are most relevant that have the search Point behind them up front as you get a little bit broader and work down the title you can start to Branch out just a little bit more while still maintaining relevancy because those are a little less important than the front end of your title is next we have
phrase exact being the most ideal way to keyword your title so what is a phrase exact term a phrase exact term might be a term that you find inside the competitor's tags or a phrase inside of their title or maybe you see a longtail term in the Etsy search bar but whatever that phrase is you cannot move the order of those keywords so for example if it was best mom ever shirt that a competitor was ranked for or that you saw in that c search bar you do not want to disrupt that phrase if that
is one that you've deemed to be extremely important for your item so you ideally want to operate with phrase exact keywords all the time the reason being is that the Etsy algorithm recognizes you as more relevant when you're phrase exact versus when you are not an exact match you might have the same keywords throughout your title but they might be out of order so always make sure in an ideal scenario you won't never be perfect but that you use phrase exact keywords as much as possible the next thing to understand is that standalone repeated keywords
are not a bad thing so I'm here to debunk a myth here that if you use the same keyword too many times Etsy might find you a Spam or that you're just wasting a ton of your potential and the reason why I would not worry about this is because it's going to be more important sometimes to get multiple phrases in that do have one of the same keywords in those phrases so if it's in order to get a phrase exact match term inside of your title then I would say you're fine to repeat you don't
want to overdo it because at a certain point in time you'll have wasted too much keyword real estate because you only have 140 characters in your title and it is prioritized front to back so the front of your title is even more important but if you are doing it to get more phrase exact match terms in it is entirely fine to repeat Standalone keywords next you want to use longtail keywords when it's applicable so first off what is a longtail keyword a longtail keyword is when you have a base term such as the example I
used earlier best mom ever shirt and you see another another example of best mom ever shirt for Mother's Day so maybe in the search bar you see that first term followed by another one underneath it that has the long tailing off of it whenever you see these longtail terms that are relevant for your product you want to utilize them because you're going to get both the initial phrase plus the longtail phrase and sometimes even another term in between where you get three phrase exact matches so let me give you this example in full if you
use the term best mom ever shirt for mother's day you're going to get best mom ever shirt best mom ever shirt for Mother's Day and shirt for Mother's Day all in a phrase exact match so in this case it's actually very much in your interest to use a longtail term because you're getting three for one with just adding in for Mother's Day on to the end of it and then lastly you're looking at real estate over readability so this means you need to be maximizing your keyword usage in your title and not trying to be
perfectly readable for the buyer cuz guys it's 20 24 and no one's reading your title maybe maybe a little bit of the front end of it but a lot of times ET doesn't even show your entire title everyone's visual everyone's looking at the product they're looking at the design they're looking at what you have to offer so you want to maximize your relevant keyword reach so that you're appearing in as many relevant places as possible and not to worry about the readability of the title that you have so why this process and why these four
resources so the beauty is when you use all four of these it makes the key wording for each product much easier because sometimes you'll have great results in the Etsy search bar other times you'll have great relevant competitor terms popping up sometimes you're kind of at a loss use a keyword brancher tool and that gives you some brainstorming and other times you just got to rely on those pck so each of these has different value in themselves and will be really valuable when stacked together so again product category keywords the reason why you use these
is you are equipped with base terms for your high potential product category to help you prioritize and use the search bar effectively so you actually know what to type in in the first place then number two the keyword brancher tool gives you a proper framework to effectively test and then Branch out your keywords where it matters most number three you get relevant competitor rank keywords again this is solidified data on keywords that you should use and remind yourself rank equals sales so use those terms up and then number four the Etsy search bar which gives
you real-time customer searches to help you make educated decisions with your products today and when you combin all four of these together you get this magical recipe to have all the resources you need to create winning titles and tags all right so moving into Etsy tags formatting so with the right understanding of how to deploy Etsy tags you're not only going to be able to index but you're going to be able to drive rank much easier for your products if you have the right keyword strategy in play so the first thing you want to do
is you want to make sure that you are using all 13 of your tags now a lot of sellers will use like 10 of them or 11 of them don't waste that additional keyword real estate just because you couldn't find an additional two or three terms you absolutely can as long as you're not being lazy and you dig in and you do the research you'll find great terms I've launched over 2500 products across four different Etsy shops and with that I've been able to fill out all 13 of my tags every single time with relevant
High search volume terms so take your time be thorough and maximize that reach with your tags next is make sure this is super simple but easily missed make sure you're hitting your descriptive terms with your pck so every product category out there has product category keywords those are those universally used keywords that are going to be no matter what the product is within that product type whether it's a mom shirt if you're in the shirt category or a cactus shirt or a best mom ever shirt or a grandma shirt or a teacher shirt or a
nurse shirt again all these different designs within the same product type has a lot of the similar keywords so your product category keywords use those every single time the majority of where your sales are going to happen are going to be through your base terms so let's say for example you were selling a nurse shirt in that case you'd want to have nurse shirt nurse t-shirt nurse teyen shirt nurse te space shirt nurse T nurse top probably have all of them and this is one thing that people Miss over and over and over again where
they think they need to just you know they put in nurse shirt one time and they think they're good to go well you missed a bunch of other phrase exact terms that are the base product category keywords for your category so again make sure you know your pck and make sure you use them pair them descriptive term plus your pck together and hit those first and foremost when you come into your listing when you're doing your Texs next just like titles phrase exact is ideal when you leverage phrase exact you give yourself rank power so
you want to utilize those phrase exact terms if they can fit again you only have 20 characters in your Tex so some sometimes you run into some difficulties with that but each time you can get a longtail phrase exact term to fit within there use them because you have much better ranking power than if you had terms that were split so use your phrase exact terms next broad tags can be very costly for your business do not be the seller in 2024 that uses broad tags inside of their Etsy listing you may see other sellers
do it you may even see sellers who are successful that are putting broad tags in but what you can't see is how how much they spending on ads uh the one thing you want to always check if you're at all concerned like is this keyword broad for my listing is it relevant enough all you need to do go into a fresh incognito window you need to then search that term on Etsy whatever you're going to check and then Analyze That micro market so then you're going to see in front of you a page of results
pops up if the products you are seeing are hyper relevant to yours then use that term however if you just typed in a broad term you're most likely going to see a bunch of irrelevant product products that are ranked there compared to your product which is telling you to not utilize that term so again even if a successful seller is using that term do not use it unless they're ranked through the term so stay away from broad keywords they will waste ad spend and they will hurt your metrics more than you realize next use relevant
competitor rank terms in your tags so just like you're doing that with your title you should be doing that in your tags as well if there's a one or two or three terms that are super important that you've seen that these relevant competitors are using and they're ranked for use those every single time in your text and then last but not least repeat title terms to increase visibility for that term so this is one thing that people miss a lot they think since they used it once in their title they don't need to use it
in their tags if you put the exact same term and ideally the exact same phrase exact term in both your title and your tags you are going to in return have a lot more weight on that keyword I I call it weight on the term because Etsy is going to find you more relevant for that keyword because you've used it in two locations so contrary to what many people believe use your phrase exact terms in your title use your phrase exact terms in your tags and again if it's a very important one duplicate those every
single time in both so ideally you're just adding weight to a keyword by putting it in your title phrase exact and putting in your tags phrase exact and do that every single time all right so now it's time to start putting everything together and the best place to start is with the keyword brancher tool so why do you want to start with a keyword brancher tool when you're starting to build out your Etsy titles and tags the reason is is that this is a great place to start to begin brainstorming keywords in the search categories
that matter the most which is what is the product who is the product for who's the product from is there an event for this product and then is there any other descriptive terms that correlate to my design that I may have missed so how you start generating those keywords where it matters most and then you get to test them out and vet them out in the ety search bar in inside a search in incognito mode and determine if they're good keywords for your product or not but if you don't start here you're going to be
kind of on a blank slate and not really know what to do and there's a high probability you'll miss a lot of your potential without doing this so I always recommend start with the keyword brancher tool I myself use pen and paper that's how I get going with it my brain works best with that so I can start jotting down okay what is this product I hit my PC who's this product for I think of everyone who's for who's it from here's who it could be from here's an event boom here's descriptive terms boom when
you're doing this there's no right or wrong answer I want you to really understand that there's not a right or wrong answer because you are going to still vet out and determine if these keywords are good for you to use on your product or not inside of etsy afterwards so just think of it be freed up think of it in a where you can brainstorm keywords and start getting some momentum going with your keywording process so for this example here I'm using the new mom shirt that we were referencing earlier again we have the mama
on there established 2024 below so we can determine this is a new mom shirt so now without doing anything else other than using a blank Google dock or a pen and paper we can start you know this brainstorming process with the keyword brancher so I've determined my pck is right away now you need to do this research I cannot emphasize enough for any given product type there is different product category keywords figure out what those are for you maximize those and use those over and over and over again ideally you would prioritize them in high
search volume to low search volume formatting for your PC so you know which ones matter the most on average for each given product that you launch in that product category so with this my PC are shirt t no space shirt t space shirt T hyphen shirt T and top so I know my PC so this is a new mom shirt t-shirt t-p Etc when I look at who it's for it is for a new mom it's also for a mama could be for just a mom or a mother so again remember this is not final
I'm brainstorming right now so I'm getting some things jotted down there but each of these are going to be recognized different by the Etsy algorithm so I need to jot down any different ideas I have here so I can go test them out on Etsy later next who is this product from well to me it's not really from anyone specifically I put friends and parents it could be from a lot of different people including the actual recipient themselves the new mom so you can look into those but I think for this product it's not as
important so I put friends and parents for now I'll check that and see later on Etsy next we have the event so what event is this one for so I know a lot of times for different items we don't always know the different kind of kind of events for everything the more you do this the better you're good at it uh for this one I actually did know there's quite a few different events where this item is applicable so we have pregnancy announcement is a big one that's a huge event uh for a lot of
different moms all throughout the year which makes this a very Evergreen product next we have Mother's Day during that season new mom Mother's Day gifts go off the charts I know that's a great event for this product postpartum uh you know right after the mom had the baby and she's you know ready to rock her new mom shirt uh that is a great one to utilize as well we have birthday as well could just be like okay the mom had the baby and now she you're going to get her a gift for her birthday it
was close by birthday and then Christmas so I think that's in a pretty well prioritized order pregnancy announcement Mother's Day postpartum birthday Christmas so I think those are great ones at least test out and see if there's and for those keywords and then the descriptive terms I have for this design right here are going to be personalized custom established in date because I see that this is a personalized item which is also in a different word custom I also see that there's a specifically a date on here and the EST for established so I want
to jot these things down so I can test them out inside the ET search bar as I move forward so if you've done this process right you've now generated quite a bit of different keyword to start plug plugging in and testing out in incognito mode in the Etsy search bar to decide on which ones to use first and which ones have more potential all right so now that we have the keyword brancher tool filled out for this product I'm over here on Etsy and we're going to build out the titles and tags in a live
format so you can actually see this whole process and how I work through the method now when I scroll down in the Etsy description right now I went ahead and I just plugged in the title information here the keyword brancher tool information here and then the tags information here so this is just a reference point for me for this training so obviously don't plug this into your description however I'm going to utilize this to refer for things with the title with the tags and then of course my keyword brancher information right here so the first
place we're going to start is with the title so whenever you are keywording a listing you always want to begin with the title first now think of this title space right here I'm going to actually remove the words new mom shirt think of this as a complete active workflow where you're going to be using the Etsy search bar you're going to be looking at competitor rank terms you're going to be plugging in pck but nothing is yet finalized until you're fully happy with the whole title so this means you may plug in some keywords right
now and then move them and then rep prioritize a different one and then delete one know that nothing you put in is finalized until you are fully happy with the prioritization of the phrase exact terms how the front of the title looks how you Branch out your keywords and how you utilize your competitor rank terms as well so again this is an active workflow we're going to be doing so when I'm start with the title I always begin in the Etsy search bar so the information I'm going to need to utilize for the Etsy search
bar is really going to come down to my pck first and foremost and then my descriptive terms which are really these ones right here and predominantly these two so I can guess right out of the gate that I'm going to be utilizing either new mom or Mama to begin with with this because that is the most relevant uh keywords correlated to the design so I'm going to go over to an Etsy tab here and I'm going to start off by typing in some different keywords here and I'm going to see some results regarding the ratios
in the search bar of total number of terms as well as what everb is telling me so I can get some uh data here to be able to back my decision- making so if we look at this first one we have new mom shirt we're going to start out with our main keyword new mom and then our highest volume pck which is shirt this one is showing at 2187 searches per month now there's nothing below this so I'm going to go ahead and try typing in Mama shirt and we're going to see what happens here
so Mama shirt actually pops up with a little bit more and there's a few different things with kids names nothing super relevant for my listing itself um so we're going to check one more time let's see this was 2600 and if we look at new mom this was sitting at 2100 so a little bit better for Mama shirt so I'm going to go ahead and go back over and I'm just going to start out by plugging this in remember this is going to be an active workflow so Mama shirt if I go back over here
I'm going to check out a few different things so new mom shirt now remember your pck are super important and you'll notice that the search button for each of these is different so I look at new mom shirt I look at new mom t-shirt see what this one is this one is everybody doesn't have any data on that new mom t space shirt this one's at 47 monthly searches you can see there's different uh amounts there we're going to try this one again I think it just didn't actually verify yep so 563 searches per month
so you can see right away just by changing it from t- shirt with no space to t space shirt and shirt we got completely different monthly searches registered by everb so this means that there's more search fly out there just by changing your PC so let this solidify that information for you right there all right so I'm going to go back over to my title real quick so I have Mama shirt right here which is just two keywords and I'm reminding myself that the first four keywords I have are my most important term so I'm
going to see if I can either add to this or long tail off of it to make it a little bit better so I look over in the Etsy search but I'm going to go back to here and I'm going to try typing in the personalize term from my descriptors uh that I have down below so personalize mama I'm going to see what's happening we have bracelet sweatshirt shirt oh interesting personalized Mama shirt so look what happens with this this term right here personalized Mama shirt is showing 1580 monthly searches when I also have Mama
shirt sitting at 2,696 searches per month so if I combine the two here with both personalized and Mama shirt Al together I'm going to get a combination because they are both phrase exact and I believe that this actually makes my product uh the keyword more relevant for my product because of the personalized date we have here so we're going to go ahead and type in personalized right here if I could spell that would help uh personalized there we go personalized Mama shirt now I'm going to take it one step further this is where I can
get fun so I have personalized Mama shirt and I'm going to go shirt for and I'm going to see what happens with shirt for mom shirt for Mom has 3,183 monthly searches so now we're stacking search volume in a phrase exact manner so shirt for Mom I'm going to try one more thing what about shirt shirt for new mom let's see what happens here anything from everb shirt for new mom hyper relevant so again I'm going to choose based on relevancy relevancy being the anchor to everything I'm doing 1712 monthly searches so shirt for new
mom so we're going to grab this just going to copy it to save myself some time and I'm going to capitalize each of these so we take out this duplicate there shirt for new mom do you see what's happening right out of the gate as simple as this will seem when it's finished there's a lot lot more that goes into this to create a great title so we have personalized Mama shirt for new mom all phrase exact we get personalized Mama I'm sure the search button for that there we get personalized Mama shirt we get
personalized Mama shirt for new mom we get shirt for new mom and we get Mama shirt in there as well so we get a bunch of different phras exact terms that have stacked search volume and I think this is a good place to kind of move on to the next part of the title where we can maybe Branch into some new keywords so let's move down to the keyword brancher tool again I have down here and whenever I do this I want to start solidifying once I've used so I'm going to actually delete shirt I
have that one I'm going to take uh mama and new mom and I'm going to take those away as well doesn't mean I'm not going to use them it just means that I have already verified that I've used that I've also utilized the term personalized as well and I believe that is all I've used so I have uh other pck to hit for sure in this case I have um some potential for and froms to hit as well I have lots of events still to hit and then I have custom establish and date so I
won't necessarily get all of these but I want to prioritize the ones that matter the most so let's continue through the process here so as I go back up I'm going to see if I can H some new terms I don't necessarily have yet so I'm going to be focused again on the more event focused ones or additional pck we have personalized Mama shirt for new mom so far so if I go up to the the search bar let me test out pregnancy announcement here I feel like that was one I really like let's see
what it looks like so pregancy if I could spelled that would help announcement all right so pregnancy announcement by itself has 2515 surges per month grandparents for uh 1,46 pregnancy gift which is a little bit different has some search volume so we can at least see that not super high search volume I thought it was going to be more again everb is just giving us a ratio and an educated guess here they don't actually know the total number I think pregnancy announcement is probably going to be higher in this case but pregnancy announcement let's go
ahead and grab this keyword I'm going to check and see how relevant it actually is for my product because I feel pretty good about it but I'm a little bit unsure the more I think through like is that actually going to be a great one so if I go into incognito mode and I take this term I'm trying to check and see the micromarket for pregnancy announcement um again incognito mode gives us the most realistic version of rank for whatever term we've typed in so if it's a fresh window we're going to see the products
that are selling through this term first and foremost so when we scroll down we need to skip the add by Etsy seller listings cuz and whenever you see these they're paying for placement for this so they're paying to be positioned on page one doesn't mean it's going to be great now they do say popular now popular now popular now and popular now so decent data on there but let's scroll below so immediately whoa like we're we're I'm seeing the very clear uh path for this this micro Market it looks like that these like combination gifts
like a more of like a gift box it's like you know about when the baby's coming the ultra sound photo the personalization of the names there's like a lot Happening Here we got the onesie we got the bear o I do not think my product could can beat very well inside of this micro market so I'm going to tell you right now I'm going to try to get really specific once and see if that helps but if not we're going to move past this keyword because this would be a bad usage of my time with
this one okay so we have in my pregnant era growing a tiny human uh we got Ice Ice Baby growing a tiny human in my pregnant era pregosaurus coming soon I don't see anything about Mama established 2024 so I'm going to honestly stay away from this one I think in my pregnant era is definitely a good one so that's just a heads up if you haven't launched that product and you're in the T-shirt category it looks like a pretty decent one here but uh again even with pregnancy announcement shirt in place I'm just really not
too confident with this keyword so again I'm going to close out of this window I really want you to understand this whenever you are not fully convinced that a term is going to be relevant you always want to check in an incognito window because if I was to use pregnancy announcement in this case what's going to happen is if my product popped up let's say I was running an etad and it popped up next to those other products have so much more value than I have to offer with my single shirt listing uh I'm going
to hurt my click through rate if I do get clicks I'm going to hurt my conversion rate and with that being said I'm going to spend a lot more money on etad so it's going to be a bad usage of my resources to deploy that keyword for this product so let's continue with some different pck and some different uh holiday or event style terms here so with these pck one thing I forgot to mention is the term gift can be a really big one to utilize so whenever utilizing a term like gift which is a
fairly broad term to use because a gift could mean a lot of different things it could be a t-shirt it could be a pillow it could be a set it could be a candle it could be pretty much anything under the sun it could be jewelry it could be a lot of different things so you want to be really cautious when using broad terms like gift however that main descriptive term on the front end is going to be your safe place so new mom or mama in this scenario so new mom gift boom right there
new mom gift has 5,995 searches per month so would you assume that this year that says Mama established 2024 is probably going to be relevant for that term and I would say yes absolutely so new mom gift and then we even have new mom gift postpartum so it's actually popping up down here and I really like to see that I just don't have a read on the monthly searches but new mom gift I'm liking so I'm going to go over here and plug in new mom look gift that's all I had to do I already
had new mom set up so personalized Mama shirt for new mom gift and we're going to see if we can continue this what if we did gift for Mother's Day I'm going to actually go check this in a second but whenever I get an idea in my head I want to jot it down we have so much phrase exact Happening Here personalized Mama shirt for new mom gift for Mother's Day and some people may say that looks pretty you know just keyword friendly only but man oh man is that phrase exact so we're going to
remember remind ourselves here that real estate over readability is what we're looking to do and that phrase exact is the most ideal way to format your title so we have a lot of phrase exact we have a little bit of repeats but not too crazy um so I think we're looking really good here actually I look through I don't think we have a single repeat now I'm looking at personalized Mama shirt for new mom gift for Mother's Day so we're looking good here so if I scroll down I'm going to go ahead and take out
Mother's Day so hit that event I know it's going to be a big one throughout the year when Mother's Day hits um we almost used postpartum but actually I didn't see any results yet so we're going to wait on that um we have custom establish and dates so these are very descriptive for this item so I'm going to see if we can maybe utilize some of this with some of these pck right here so we go back up we're going to check out Mama EST see we have here mama EST 2024 okay Mama EST shirt
what about some my other PC t-shirt 111 that's not bad if we combine Mama EST with that what about 2024 what shirt let's see 6 116 let's try t shirt nothing popular there but Mama established 2024 very descriptive very spot on for this and I'm going to get a few different phrase EX exact terms by using this so I'm going to go Mama EST 2024 we're just going to jot this in here for now so we're going to hyphen this mama EST 2024 and I'm going to use a different pck here T-shirt with no space
T-shirt with no space is my my second most important keyword that a lot of people type in the search bar so I'm going to go with that so Mama EST so Mama established 2024 T no space shirt can I do anything else with that can I longtail remember long tail anytime it's possible so now I have EST covered let's see don't see any other main ones I also have t-shirt covered and we're going to see anything else and I remove pregnancy announcement because I don't not really vibing with that one I think it's a bad
usage of the keywords here so we've used some great terms out of our keyword brancher tool so far we have a lot of phrase exact happening in our first 80 characters which is great really happy with relevancy really happy with everything there but we do have a lot of keyword real estate left with 140 total characters and we are losing a little bit of momentum so we want to move into some competitor ranked terms before we do anything else and to find some terms that might be really really useful for this exact product now in
this case for the purposes of this training I grabb this product straight from Etsy so we're using an active listing so we're going to have super relevant data by going to the listing itself and seeing right where they're ranked but typically you'd have maybe a closely related design and you're going to only analyze the top relevant competitors but in this case again we have the actual listing so I did some of the research beforehand just to um be able to do this a little bit more efficiently for this training itself and one thing I really
want you to note is on every product I've said this once already but really anchor this down that for every product only one two maybe three of their keywords is where they're driving the vast majority of their sales time and time again this happens for myself this happens for so many clients that I work with so again this scenario is going to be no different so we have this title right here and then these tags right here with the everb tool we can grab the different tags which is awesome to be able to analyze the
data quicker definitely recommend everb um but I want to highlight a few things with this seller here uh there's a lot of terms that we're using here that I think are a little bit Broad and aren't very great for the product so one we already checked was pregnancy announcement that actually showed us very quickly that was not a good one to use uh of course we want to use Mother's Day but as a standalone term I don't think it's great to put just by itself I would have paired that with another description term love new
mom gift they are ranked for this term it's very uh relevant for this item Uh custom Mama shirt was a great one to open with for this one again this one is one they're ranked for and one I may use cuz I haven't used custom yet which which is one of my descriptors and then Mama EST 2024 we did just use that term uh they are ranked for this but the rest of these these different terms here they are not ranked for any of these so this this is wasted keyword real estate right here that
is only going to hurt click-through rate hurt conversion rate and hurt ad spend when we look at the tags for this listing as well uh there are some good ones in here so again new mom gift was good custom mom shirt that's good there uh custom mom established good and uh a couple others as well but some of these other ones they were not ranked for such as gift for Mom personalized mom and some of these other ones down here so just be very cautious and make sure you check each tag check each phrase but
before you think that oh this is going to be a great idea for me to just utilize these keywords because this top seller that's a it's a best seller they're using it remember rank equals sales which means that 90% of their sales are coming directly from just a few different keywords so one term that I did really like that they were actually ranked for was custom Mama shirt right here and custom mom shirt they were also ranked for that term as well so we're going to check out both so custom mom shirt on this uh
term right here we have 1,700 62 results per month if we change this out to Mom let's see what we have here 1700 versus 3,190 so custom mom shirt has uh almost doubled the search volume in this case so quite a bit more search volume there um and they're ranked right in the top of the page for both of these terms so it's definitely a great competitor ranked term and we haven't used custom yet in our title now this is the same pck we've used but sometimes you can't Branch out too far with your pck
in order to maintain the phrase exact format so we might still keep this one but I'm going to see if we can long tail off this so I'm going to remove the word custom we're going to see Mom shirt I try width and date would be awesome so we have names leopard print kids names baby names what about date nothing with date there I was really hoping we could use custom mom shirt with date but because we're not seeing much there it is what it is so we're going to go back over and we're going
to plug in custom mom shirt and then I'm going to scroll down let's check our keyword brancher custom mom shirt for maybe birthday for Christmas postpartum let's check that out so we have let's go mom shirt for post no nothing with postpartum for birthday mom shirt for birthday no one's looking for that that's surprising Christmas not going to happen because it's not the right time of year mom shirt for women does pop up we could always check this and see what happening so Mom shirt for women we're going to grab this it's got a thousand
or so searches per month new incognito window over the Etsy and we have mom shirt for women we're going to check the relevancy for this term we have Mama right here uh with the kids names Mama kids names fied by caffeine and Chaos mother with the kids names mama with the kids names cool Mom's Club mama mama so I haven't seen a lot of M stuff happening here so I think Mom shirt for women is not too bad so in order to longtail with this one mom shirt for women we're going to add on to
the end of this we're going to go back up we have custom mom shirt we're going to put plug in for women again we're extending and maximizing our keyword usage here where we have so many phrase exact terms happening that we're stacking and stacking and stacking more and more relevant search volume so we're getting closer here we have 109 characters out of 140 so we have about 30 characters left we are further down our title now um and so I'm going to try to branch in still into some of these other keywords this is why
the keyword brancher tool is so so helpful if you eliminate the terms as you're using them you'll know that you're hitting some good ones so we have the term mom done the from I'm just really no matter where I've checked I have not really seen from so we're going to just discard the whole from column uh postpartum is one that I really want to hit and we did already hit custom so we're going to take out custom here potentially use date I really want to use postpartum we did hit mother with Mother's Day so we're
going to remove that one and then uh for our PC let's see if we hit any of those other ones we have t no space shirt and shirt and then shirt so we still have all these pck potentially to use here so I'm going to check out postpartum so let's see if we can stay relevant here I'm going to go new mom postpartum let's see what we have here nothing happening na so I'm going to check out postpartum right here this the one I think is going to really applicable for this item and definitely has
some potential here so let's look at postpartum we have postpartum gift right away what if I eliminate that postpartum no so gift and do we have o i can see something coming together here gift for new mom yes postpartum gift for new mom that 4,400 searches there uh postpartum gift had about 865 estimates searches and I don't think I have gift for new mom in phrase exact format yet so let's check we have new mom gift but we do not have gift for new mom so we're going to go post partum [Music] partum gift for
new Momo liking it we're going to put that hyphen there and we're sitting in a really good spot now 139 characters used total and we have so many different phrase exact terms I am actually really happy with the setup of this title we've maximized a ton of search volume and we've ranched out well the only thing we didn't hit as much of that I would normally like to is a different pck but here's the beauty is that we're going to be able to hit those all in our tags below all right so now we're going
to move down to our tags and one thing I want to note I actually paused and I counted out how many different phrase exact terms I was able to hit right here I have 15 different phrase exact terms throughout this title that are all being searched for according to the Etsy search bar and we have a couple relevant competitor rank terms in there as well so we're sitting with so much more than meci when it comes to leveraging phrase exact terms and for the Etsy algorithm Etsy loves that and will reward you massively when it
comes to a buyer coming on to Etsy type it in a specific term you having that exact phrase in your title you're going to have a high probability to not only index but to drive rank for that keyword so again we're going to move down to our tags with all of that in mind so as a refresher if we look at our tags we looking at these uh utilizing all 13 hitting our descriptive terms plus our PC now this is going to be super important because we missed a lot of these in our title we're
going to try to keep phrase exact as as much as we can we're going to not hit those broad tags that we saw from the competitor here we're going to use the couple relevant competitor rank terms that we really liked and then we're going to repeat these title terms so that we can increase visibility um for those terms specifically so when I go down to my tags I do the exact same thing every single time so I want to hit my PC first and foremost so this is both a new mom and a mama shirt
in this case so we're going to do new mom shirt we're going to copy that so I can use it over and over again new mom shirt actually sorry I just need new mom there we go so new mom shirt new mom t-shirt new mom t space shirt so my three most important I'm going to do the same thing for mama mama M shirt Mama t-shirt Mama t space shirt okay so I my main main PC of case ones that matter the most for both descriptive terms if I go back up to my title I'm
going to check this out cuz I want to I want to double down on the ones that matter the most So speaking on relevancy Mama established 2024 that was definitely a term so I really like that so we're going to go mom actually was it Mom or Mom let's double check here Mom Mama established 2024 so we're going to go back down we have Mama established 2024 perfect going go back up so there's a lot of back and forth with this because I want to really make sure I'm hitting the ones that matter the most
so I have Mama shirt so personalized mama so one thing you can do with the term personalized that's really nice is that uh personalized as a standalone keyword is not a bad thing the reason being is that very few people actually come on to Etsy and just type in the word personalized because that doesn't have any descriptive factor to it personalized what so the beauty of this is is that if I have the term personalized in my Texs and if I could spell right that would help the term personalizing my tags that term can now
attach to any one of my other tags in in my tags and then in my title as well can attach to those terms too so I like personalized as a standalone keyword um we're going to grab that and then let's go see so we have Mama shirt new mom gift so new mom gift and gift for new mom I want both of those I know those are high volume ones so new mom gift and gift for new mom see how I'm stacking the keyword usage here with these phrase exact terms in my title and in
my tags and I know these ones matter a lot because they have high search volume and high relevancy for this product and my competitor happens to be ranked for some of these as well one of the competitor rank terms I really like was custom mom shirt that one had more search so I want to try to hit that one custom mom shirt and let's see if there's any others that are really really important that I want to use so we have personalized Mama shirt for new mom gift for Mother's Day Mama EST 2024 custom mom
shirt postpartum gift that one I liked a lot very irrelevant here post partum gift there we go we got one more left let's see what do I want to utilize so I'm going to go up here one more time make a decision and we'll roll with that we have so Mother's Day I did not hit let's see is there anything I can do here though because Mother's Day is a longer term let's see I doubt this is going to fit we're going to give her a go just for fun new mom Mother's Day this fits
I'll be so surprised and it did fit oh my gosh let's go so new mom Mother's Day do you see in this scenario I wanted it to be a turn term that is going to be a little bit more descriptive for Mother's Day so phrase exact new mom Mother's Day is going to pay off massively when it comes into that season and be much more relevant and competitive than if I just plugged in the term Mother's Day is a standalone remember I'm giving away one free spot my program Inner Circle prins to one lucky winner
