Our Lives as women are filled with a lot of unique challenges especially when it comes to taking care of our health but very often the advice that we get is either incomplete inaccurate or just not practical for everyday life and I've personally found that a lot of the habits that have transformed my health and well-being over the years are either things that I discovered way too late in life or things that I learned the hard way but I do not want you to go through the same trial and error and so here are 24 healthy
girl habits that every girl needs to know to feel her best inside and out and no I am not going to tell you to sleep more drink water or workout although you probably should these ones are a little bit more unconventional let's dive [Music] in now this is one habit that has transformed the way that I handle stress a somatic pause means taking a brief moment to just check in with yourself and notice how you are feeling internally so if you have been working for a few hours doing this might help you notice tension in
your shoulders or your posture notice how shallow your breathing has gotten and then you can just take 30 seconds a minute to pause take a deep breath maybe stretch drink water and return to your day this habit is incredibly powerful for two reasons first it allows you to notice your own unmet needs whether they are physical mental or emotional these are things that you might otherwise ignore for example if you are rushing through work and you take a moment to pause you realize that your jaw is clenched or that you've barely had any water or
that your shoulders feel stiff and a quick stretch or a quick glass of water can ease both your body and your mind and help you manage Stress and Anxiety a lot more effectively research actually shows that mindful awareness practices like this can actually lower your cortisol levels and improve your overall well-being and secondly somatic pauses actually strengthen your ability to understand your internal signals things that we often tend to ignore in our day-to-day [Music] life I don't know if you have heard of this before but this just means that you Dim your light and you
use warm toned lighting after sunset this is honestly the best thing that I did for my sleep last year basically I do not switch on any overhead lights in the evening and since I have a lot of natural light during the day I practically do not switch on the white tube light or the white overhead lights at all I just have these pretty yellow light lights lamps and the glow from my TV LED that lights up my entire house and as a result on average I have started going to bed around 11:00 p.m. instead of
1:00 a.m. and those two hours have made a huge difference in My Sleep Quality even studies show that reducing bright light and blue light exposure in the evening helps boost melatonin production so if you can I highly recommend getting a few lamps to place around your house and use those in the evenings instead of bright tube lights overhead lights and it will make a world of A Difference In Your Sleep [Music] Quality this is the easiest switch you can make for your health overall nowadays sugar is added to almost everything we consume and since I
have PCOS that meant a lot more blood sugar spikes than was necessary so I have actually completely swished out sugar with monk fruit which is my favorite sugar substitute it is zero calorie and it tastes almost like sugar I've tried Stevia and others in the past but they leave a weird aftertaste in the mouth which I am not a fan of now this means that I do not have to cut out on my favorite Sweet Treats I can just add monk fruit to whatever I want to sweeten and I can eat that and it does
not cause blood sugar spikes now this does not mean that I've cut out sugar completely if I'm going out and I want a sweet treat once in a while I'll still take that but for everything I make at home I use monk fruit so in smoothies my protein shake in Greek yogurt even in the cakes that I B at home all of it is done using mon fruit it is a little bit on the expensive side but it's absolutely worth it because it means that I get to eat the kind of food that I want
to without added health concerns now this has been such a learning in the past year because there is so much generic Fitness information out there right now everybody's going crazy about strength training and everybody will tell you oh my God you need to strength train and while that is true it's not true for everyone and we'll Circle back to this a while back people were crazy about cardio and while some sort of movement is absolutely important for women for men for everybody in general movement or exercise is a lot more than this tool to burn
calories for women it actually affects various parts of your health and your well-being and that is why it is important to not just exercise regularly but to pick exercises that actually Aid your health instead of deteriorating it now what do I mean by this last 2 years I have been very consistent with strength training and I was lifting very heavy and while that helped me build a lot more muscle it actually disrupted my hormonal balance and I was not ready to believe this until I went ahead and did blood tests turns out that as a
pcod girly just going into lifting too heavy too quickly made me miss my periods so much so that in 2022 and in 2023 I only had six cycles and I started lifting in 2022 and in 2024 I had seven Cycles because I was a little bit more inconsistent with my strength training but in the last 3 months after I spoke to my health coach I toned things down I switched to Pilates walking and very mild strength training so earlier if I would do like a 40 kg squat right now I'm doing that with 5kg dumbbells
right and mind you suddenly my bloating has gone away my periods are back on track and I have actually lost some weight now by no means am I saying that you should not strength train as women that's not what I mean what I mean to say is that if you have never done this before do not dive in head first build up to it so start with lower intensity workouts once you get very very comfortable in them slowly build up your resistance slowly go into strength training into lifting heavier weights because that ways your body
will not just get a shock it will not be too much of a stressor and you will be able to grow in your fitness journey seamlessly now this is a fairly new habit for me but one that seems to have a lot of benefits I am never going to be the person who takes cold showers it is just super stressful just the idea of it just thinking about it gives me stress but I have found that contrast showers on the other hand work very well for me these involve alternating between hot and cold water so
I start with hot water and once I'm nice toasty warm I will just switch the tab to cold and do that for 30 seconds and then switch back to hot okay couple of rounds of this and I'm sorted now the hot water here dilates your blood vessels it improves circulation and it relaxes your muscles and when you switch to cold water that constricts your vessels it reduces your inflammation and it promotes recovery this is called a vascular workout and it basically helps you flush out toxins ease some of that muscle soreness and enhance post-workout recovery
it also actually improves your mood by triggering endorphin release and vus nerve activation something that we'll talk about in the next point now research also supports these benefits to some extent for circulation immune function and stress reduction making this an excellent addition to your self-care routine now speaking of stress relieve this is a practice that I came across last year I believe the beginning of last year and it's been a GameChanger again for stress relief now a lot of the points you'll see in this video are about stress relief and that's because women tend to
take on a lot more stress in their bodies and that disrupts their hormonal health so doing things for stress relief actually helps you prevent that so as women I think this can be such a great way to reduce the impact of stress on your health and your hormones so the Vegas nerve is like this highway between your brain and and your body it helps regulate things like your heart rate your digestion even your mood and there are a few basic mindfulness practices that actually help activate it one is of course contrast showers that we just
spoke about we already do that another is deep belly breathing so you sit with your eyes closed and you breathe in every time you breathe in your belly expands and when you breathe out your belly contracts humming is also another effective one we have something in yoga called the bramar pranayam which actually helps a lot with vus nerve activ ation so you can try that as well and even splashing cold water on your neck has been known to help with vegus nerve activation now doing these things in the past year I've noticed a big difference
in how I felt especially on stressful days it's like hitting the reset button on your nervous system which is also supported by research it says that activating your vus nerve can actually lower cortisol boost your immune system and support hormonal balance and that makes a lot of sense because I feel a lot more in sync with my body ever since I started doing these little [Music] practices and This falls in the habit category because it is a muscle and it takes time for you to build being busy does not always mean that you're productive and
I used to be this person I used to constantly sit on my desk thinking that I'm getting a lot of work done but I was actually spending a lot of that time watching YouTube videos in the name of research not ideal so deep work focused undistracted time on meaningful tasks is so much more effective and a so much more more productive so in the last couple of months I have done a very good job of sticking to the things that I put on my to-do list and finishing my work within a 4 to 5 Hour
window in one day turns out that is all the time that you actually need if you are focused on the task at hand it takes a little while to get used to but improving your focus by any method that works best for you can be a game changer for your productivity and your overall life satisfaction in [Music] general I'm spoken about this multiple times before but our environment has a huge impact on whatever we do including how productive we are so if you are sitting in a cluttered home at a cluttered desk that is bound
to make you less productive as opposed to if you cleaned your desk and your room was entirely clean as well but that's not just it right it could also be that you don't feel productive at home you feel productive when you go to a coffee shop and work out of there so whether it's your home your desk a coffee shop a co-working space any other setting you need to figure out where it is that you are able to focus the best and you feel the most productive now I majorly do most of my work from
home but even within that I find that switching up my place of work between my desk and my couch really helps boost focus and for work that does not require filming or shooting like scripting or ideation I also find myself having increased focus in coffee shops and sometimes when I'm not able to focus just switching up my location and going to another place to work can also really help so instead of always blaming yourself for being lazy you could also blame your environment I am just kidding you could just look towards your environment and see
if there is anything there that is making you unproductive and try and fix that if you can engineer your environment to be conducive to your focus it can actually make you so much more productive and this is a habit that you really want to build stop avoiding conflict to maintain peace I have done a lot of uncomfortable conversations in the last year things that I swept under the rug earlier for so long I finally brought them out because I realized that often avoiding confrontation might seem like the smarter option in the shorter term but in
reality when you avoid conflict and discomfort in the short term you are actually causing a lot more conflict and discomfort for yourself in the long term because sweeping things under the rug does not mean that your conflict has gone away it just means that things keep lingering to give you an example a family member or a friend may have done something to hurt you but instead of talking talking to them about it you swept it under the rug because it was uncomfortable to confront them to talk about your feelings as a result you started resenting
this person and over time you avoided interaction with them because of unresolved issues mind you that confronting and talking it out does not always mean that you will have a resolution but it means that you are no longer ignoring your feelings for the sake of maintaining peace or for the sake of other people's feelings and also it is a learned skill the more you do it the better you become at it the better you become at having uncomfortable conversations often when we are confronting someone or when we are in an uncomfortable situation humans have a
tendency to just bend over backwards or let go of their boundaries in order to make that situation more comfortable or bearable for instance if you are reconciling with a friend or an estranged parent and they end up doing something nice for you then later on try to cash in a favor and ask you to do something for them that is not in your best interest now if you're afraid of Confrontation if you're afraid of saying no your automatic response will be to give into their demands without thinking about what it means for the future you
this is where you need to learn to say no and to stand your ground if you don't do this you are going to be pushed over again and again and that is going to be the worst thing for your stress levels and your mental health not something that you [Music] want now while we're on the subject of communication one habit that will have a massive impact on on your credibility as a person and your confidence is your ability to speak clearly this means focusing on enunciating and speaking without filler words and practicing taking a pause
to think about what you're going to say before actually saying it this ensures that you do not resort to filler words like um uh while you're speaking initially it will feel uncomfortable there's no doubt about it but eventually it is the one thing that will massively improve your speech and don't be afraid to learn from experts take classes join gry who is the CEO and president of Blackstone actually takes public speaking classes weekly because he knows how essential that skill is as a leader if he can do it why can't you invest time energy and
effort into relationships that matter to you support your friends stay in touch and show that you care I have always been the kind of person who prefers her own company I like my solitude but over the last few years I've been realizing that we don't exist in isolation and part of what makes life beautiful is the people around us so in the past year especially I have started making an effort to reconnect with people who were an important part of my life at one point in time but we ended up losing touch I have made
my friends more of a priority I've also just made socializing more of a priority and it's like any other habit the more you nurture it the more you receive in return a great hack to reconcile or reconnect with your friends is to do a weekly phone call if you can't meet them in person just to check in just to see how you guys are doing and to you know update each other on how your week went save elsewhere this approach teaches you to Value quality over quantity making self-care both intentional and sustainable now what I
found a lot of the times that people in attempt to be frugal end up skimping on things that can actually really improve the quality of their life for example I've seen people sleep four years on bad mattresses that give them backaches or sit on bad chairs use cheap skin care use cheap makeup it is one thing if you really do not have the means to afford it but if you have the means to afford it if you can afford it it becomes your responsibility for your own mental and physical well-being to invest your money in
high quality things that will improve the quality of your life spending extra on such items while saving elsewhere is the ultimate healthy girl habit because it's all about prioritizing long-term value over short-term convenience so investing in a well-made pair of running shoes or a good mattress or good skin care products especially ones that you know are not going to be good quality if you buy them cheap this might feel like you're spending a lot of money in the short term but in the long term it's actually saving you money and the frustration that might happen
if things go wrong a good way to balance this out is to buy cheap in things that don't directly impact your health and your well-being like your phone or your clothes the kind of bags you have Etc as a woman with PCOS I have been trying to improve my step count for so long but nothing was working till I started doing this in the past getting 10,000 steps has been so difficult because that would mean I need to go for an hourong walk especially because I was sitting the entire rest of the time so I
started doing this thing I start walking whenever I am on a call or when I'm watching TV or I'm in a meeting unless that meeting requires me to sit at my desk and have like an Excel sheet open on my computer or something I always always always take my calls my meetings on my phone with my airpods in and I walk around the house itself I also have a walking treadmill that I primarily use when I want to walk and watch TV simultanously because that just helps and this ensures that I get in a lot
more steps than usual actually as a result of doing this in the past four or 5 months my daily step count has increased from 2,000 every single day to 8,000 plus and this is actually a huge improvement walking has so many benefits it improves metabolism reduces blood sugar spikes and overall just increases your movement and makes your lifestyle less sedentary this is like a cute little hack to turn those nasty little Annoying habits that you have into positive ones without a lot of effort right for example I have this nasty habit of biting my nails
and biting the skin around my nails honestly but ever since I started doing gel nails that habit has gone away now in the past month and a half I had actually not gotten my nails done because I wanted them to like breathe and sit there and all of that and in that time I actually ended up just peeling the skin around my thumb a lot it was bleeding and it wasn't nice so a few more tries of doing this and I'm pretty sure I will get over this habit of biting and chewing my nails similarly
you can do this with your snacking instead of reaching for chips or sugary treats when you're stressed start keeping a stash of healthy snacks in your house just don't keep your chips there right you can do fruits nuts Greek yogurt also on the point of yogurt epigamia has this 50 g protein yogurt that is absolutely delicious now I used to think that Greek yogurt is very cut up because all of the stuff that you get in the name of Greek yogurt in the market is usually very sour so it's not very palatable I just decided
to give this aamia thing a try and oh my God so tasty I just had it with like fruits blueberries Etc last night love it great way to [Music] snack now as a person who is a fer or a recovering workaholic I know that is it is so easy to get caught up in work in responsibilities and in achieving goals it is in these times that you need to remember that life is not just about productivity last year for me was so eventful I did so many new things I achieved more than 80% of my
goals but when I was looking back and I was doing my yearly reflection exercise uh you know a couple of weeks ago I just realized that I didn't have fun last year I just forgot to have fun and now working on your goals is important but I realized that having fun is also an intentional practice enjoying life is an intentional practice because ultimately that is the main aim right and if you're not having fun you are always stressed having fun is what helps you balance your hectic schedule in your sleepless nights and all of that
stress that you take for your goals into something that is a lot more enjoyable what I am planning to do this year is actually block out time for hobbies for Adventures for Creative Pursuits and I've already listed out in 12 different things that I want to do this year so that is what I'm planning to do and I'm actually pushing myself to look at everything I do from a lens of fun from a lens of Joy because I do enjoy everything that I'm doing in Life currently but a lot of the times just that mental
shift is required and that is what I'm making this year now while working on my PC remission I found out that no matter what your problem might be it will have a direct or indirect relationship with your gut because our gut health plays a vital role in our overall wbe and research shows that one of the best ways to support your gut health is by eating a variety of plant fibers which just means eating a lot of fruits and vegetables and that is exactly what I have been implementing in the last 6 months or so
my diet has at least one salad every single day one subzi every single day and one portion of fruits every single day and the Wonders it does for your gut health is insane absolutely love it and research also shows that the more diverse your diet is the better it is for your gut microbiome like this is one of the easiest things that you can do most people eat the same thing day in and day out and that just does not give your gut bacteria all of the nutrients that it requires so try eating the rainbow
as a lot of people call it this concept is simple just multiple different colored fruits and vegetables on your plate every single day that's it you might have heard that Indians are deficient in protein and while that is true you know what they're even more deficient in fiber most of us are eating a lot of processed food and a lot of kbby starchy food that is not rich in fiber at all and fiber has so many benefits not just for your gut health but for balancing your blood sugar Sala my nutritionist told me this hack
last to last year 2023 I think just have a bowl of salad before every meal it takes care of your fiber intake and if your meal is scarb heavy this is the most effective thing in balancing your blood sugar and it has been a boon it is one habit that I'm definitely getting into 2025 as well we live in a world where staying constantly Busy has become the new flex and borom is this thing that you want to avoid at all costs but surprisingly studies show that embracing boredom can actually be super beneficial because when
you are in a state of boredom it gives your mind the space to wonder it Sparks creativity and fresh ideas that cannot happen if your mind is constantly occupied in fact if you look at the theory of gravity it came to Newton when he was sitting bored under an apple tree just sitting there doing nothing you must have also noticed that great ideas come to you when you are either in the shower and there's no other distraction or when you're just lying in your bed at night and thinking about random stuff right so it's so
important to nurture boredom and I have been doing this for a while now sometimes I'll go a couple of you know weeks without doing it but what I tend to do is just lie down on my couch no phone no social media no TV just stare at the ceiling stare at the fan things like that and it helps you calm your mind down weirdly in a very non-conventional fashion and it helps spark new ideas you can also do like an idea walk or a boredom walk where you just go for a walk when you're bored
don't turn to your phone don't listen to a podcast don't listen to anything on your phone just wonder about in nature and you would be surprised by how beneficial that can [Music] be now this point is for all of those girlies who go czy CRA as soon as a new product launches or a new type of product launches me I'm that girly and over the years I realized that it was harming My Skin Barrier because when you introduce a lot of skincare ingredients or a lot of different ingredients onto your skin in a very short
span of time it disrupts your Skin's natural barrier and the longer you continue to do this the longer it takes for your Skin's barrier to heal so if you have started using a product today or right now or in the last week unless it causes an allergic reaction continue using it for a little while before you decide to switch again because trust me that is not doing anything for your skin and the more consistent you stay actually the better results you see in the long term like every other thing in life good skin care or
taking care of your skin is a marathon not a Sprint so keep that in mind the next time you are shopping for a new skincare product and and if something does go wrong consult a dermatologist apply only active ingredients that have been dermatologically deemed safe for your skin okay I've been there I have tried a lot of different actives they haven't work they disrupted My Skin Barrier it's taken a lot of trial and error and I don't want you to go through the same [Music] thing your glow zones are the first things that people notice
about you when they approach you this is what creates that first impression about you so putting in a little extra time and effort into these glow zones can make a world of a difference now what are these glow zones as per etiquette experts these are your hands your eyes and your teeth and these are things that people notice first when they meet you so how can you ensure that all of these three things are glowing all of the time so that you can always put your best foot forward for your hands after you wash your
hands always apply moisturizer so if you wash your hands four times a day apply moisturizer four times a day if you wash your hands 10 times a day apply moisturizer 10 times a day every every time you wash your hands because it's tripping away any natural oils you might have and this part tends to get dry very very quickly it does not have a lot of natural oil glands so moisturizing will keep them soft supple beautiful and you know good-looking and if there's no dryness you will not have like a lot of flaky cuticles and
stuff so you'll always kind of look put together ladies you can always go for manicures I love my gel nails as you guys know and yes I have a tutorial coming sorry for this long of a delay but I have a surprise for you which I'm going to reveal very very soon in one of my future videos so stay tuned for that for your eyes two things that you need to do is one aim for 7 to 8 hours of quality sleep each night you also need to take care of your liver health because a
lot of the times when eyes of people get yellow it's because their liver is not functioning properly so if that is the case with you make sure you get tested make sure you go to your doctor speak to them see if it is your liver that's actually causing yellowing of the eyes uh for your dark circles there can be multiple causes but that's something that we'll address in another video there are topical treatments that can help dark circles that are because of hyperpigmentation but if they are because of a naturally occurring vitamin deficiency that's a
different case altogether and you can also use like very basic eye drops like gen teal to just keep your eyes clear to keep them moist especially if you do a lot of work on the computer and we have a tendency to not blink when we work on the screen for very very long so just using eye drops occasionally can really help with that and for your teeth you you of course want to brush very very regularly I also like using teeth whitening strips these ones are from perfor no this is not sponsor I just like
it a lot because it helps get rid of some of that yellowish steering that happens and if you're a coffee drinker like me it can also be brownish staining just make sure that every time you eat food you rinse your mouth very very well afterwards and that will prevent most of the staining but you can always go ahead and use like a teeth whitening strip occasionally make sure it's not eroding your enamel and of course visit your dentist at least every 6 months to make sure you are on top of your oral health your oral
health is also directly linked to your gut health so that's something to keep in [Music] mind now this has been a recent Fascination again and a recent habit that I have built but it is so so effective in not just giving me micronutrients but as a PC girly this small habit has tremendously help me curb my coffee addiction as you guys know especially if you follow me on Instagram that I love my coffee I absolutely love the taste smell Aroma everything about coffee and I would not be kidding if I said earlier coffee used to
be my source of living like I could easily do five to six cups in a day without even batting an eyelid but while coffee is good in moderation it's absolutely fine too much caffeine in the system can disrupt your sleep and it can cause Jitters which can then influence your hormonal balance so I made a conscious choice this winter shift to herbal teas and turns out that these have a a lot of benefits for your health you can pick a tea that benefits you the most and that ways you are drinking something delicious while being
on top of your health so I get all of my teas from sancha tea Boutique it is my absolute favorite place it gives such mean character energy I love that packaging love the aroma and every time you go into their store they give you this little chai to drink which is delicious so I have been drinking their glowing Beauty tea this winter which primarily has hibiscus and lavender hibiscus is actually very rich in flavonoids and antioxidants which help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress both of which are often elevated in women with PCOS so it's really
really helpful and it helps with hormone regulation as well and supports the liver another one that I drink frequently is spearmint tea which has been shown in studies to reduce testosterone level in women and so therefore like the facial hair that they might get when this hormone is elevated in women with bcos it also helps reduce symptoms like excess hair growth and me and I sweeten these with monk fruit of course and I have a few cups throughout the day depending on my mood I also take chamomile tea before bed and it's really helped me
with my Sleep Quality absolutely love it moving on to number 23 a daily brain dump this one is just such a game changer not just for decluttering your mind but for also helping you articulate your thoughts better and it's especially helpful on days that are super hectic and that drain you mentally a brain dump can literally curb a lot of your overthinking if when you put all of those thoughts out on paper your digital device on top of that following it is super simple all you need is to have a 5 to 10 minute routine
at the end of every evening why you just dump all of your thoughts on paper and that's about [Music] it a luxurious Bown routine is more than just preparing for sleep right you treat your evening time like a ritual that helps your your body and your mind transition from that state of chaos that you've been through throughout the day into a state of calm and there are a few things that you can do to make your windown routine very smooth very luxurious very Feelgood so of course start by dimming your lights evening light hygiene and
creating like a cozy Ambiance warm tone lamp candles if you want to I generally pair this with my chamomile tea or my lavender tea I also have a lavender pillow spray that I put which is also very calming and soothing and then I will uh get out my book read for a little while I will do my brain dump to clear my head and I will also do my gratitude practice if I haven't done it during the day then do my skin care my brushing sit down in my bed read and then Drift Off to
sweet sweet sleep and there you have it 24 healthy habits that can truly transform your life in 2025 but one thing to remember here is that you do not want to do everything all at once pick a few habits that resonate well with you and and then slowly build them into your routine over time you'll notice how these little changes can make such a huge impact on your overall wellbeing and if you watched till here make sure you go check out this video next because YouTube says that you're going to love it and I'm going
