peace proposals to position Europe as a proactive player in ending the conflict yet at the same time Europe is now openly militarizing amid fears of Russian aggression with an 800 billion euro plan to rearm the continent now renamed readiness 2030 our own Janis Faruakis has argued that rearming Europe will weaken the continent economically and politically and he's proposed a radically different peace plan for Ukraine which has sparked significant debate and so tonight we'll be unpacking Janice's arguments and answering questions that people have submitted as well as taking your questions live so we've got our own
Janis Farfakis right here with us and of course you you out there if you've got thoughts comments rants things that you want to say on this topic then please put them in the YouTube chat and we'll put them to Janice janice perhaps you could start by setting the context why is rearming Europe a dead end and what should Europe be doing instead to advance peace in Ukraine thank you Mean uh thank you everyone for joining i very much look forward to have this discussion with me who is going to be communicating to me your questions
so make sure that you put them uh in the chat um okay well look one small correction me the peace plan is not mine it belongs to DM25 we have worked towards this and we were actually quite present that we put it together sometime well a few months after Russia's invasion of uh Ukraine okay the problem begins right at the beginning with the European Union that had a ludicrous plan A for the war in Ukraine remember the plan plan A was to essentially overthrow Putin uh because nothing short of over overthrowing Putin would achieve all
the things that the European Union claimed that it wouldn't do without like for instance dragging Putin through the International Criminal Court um taking back Crimea and all those things those things can happen but only if you overthrow Putin or you win militarily and you push the Russian forces a long way back so you you Europe had a ludicrous plan A and they had no plan B no plan C no plan D uh plan A failed for the three reasons mainly first one is uh the sanctions that were so ruthlessly imposed on Russia rightly or wrongly
but they were very strong very powerful sanctions uh sanctions that have been unprecedented in the history of the last 200 years well instead of weakening Russia they strengthened the Russian war economy and they weakened the European Union that's one reason why plan A failed the second one was that the much heralded plan or plan aim of the coalition between Joe Biden's administration and of course the European Union the heralded aim was what nato membership for the Ukraine well that was never a serious proposition because even Joe Biden would never have it the United States would
never would never have it and when the United States do not want somebody to become a member of NATO they do not become a member of member of NATO it is really very simple it's not rocket science uh and therefore you know this was an a noncredible threat that Ukraine would be um engulfed within NATO and then article five of NATO would apply that was never going to happen and the third reason that plan A failed was the breathtaking hypocrisy of the Europeans and the Americans who are essentially saying to the Ukrainians you're going to
have to defeat uh Putin but we're not going to fight side by side with you we're not going to send troops we're going we're just going to send you weapons um and of course you know there's no amount of weaponry that could support the Ukrainians in a bid to defeat Yeah to to bring a final victory against the the Russian Federation and once plan A utterly caved in especially when Trump came to power and declared that plan A was not even being seriously considered by the United States anymore the plan B which was non-existent of
course was what the European leaders like headless chickens running around in panic oscillating between begging for relevance begging please Mr trump make us relevant bring us to the table and then when Trump said nothing of the sort is going to happen well they threw a tantrum um that they have no relevance that's plan B right okay now me correctly said at the beginning that it is my view and I have explained that in articles and speeches and so on that military keynism this attempt to uh spend um billions and billions and billions on weaponry that's
what I mean by military kenianism why Kenzian because it will be all be debt finance when you hear big numbers like 800 billion and so on that money doesn't exist it will be debt it will be new debt that will be borrowed from the markets to build up Europe's military capacity right and I've been arguing uh I'm not going to to bother you now and waste time explaining this you can go to um to my article in Project Synic and find out exactly what I'm saying but I've been arguing that it will weaken Europe not
strengthen it uh but allow me just epic grammatically to say a few things about this firstly the technical failures technical failures technological military technology failures of the European Union cannot be remedied by throwing money at it at least not in the next 5 10 years because what is it that we're really missing technologically it's not the number of tanks you could see you saw what what happened in the killing fields of Ukraine to the Abrams tanks huge amazing really you know the best tanks that are in the world that the Americans sent to the Ukrainians
they were taken out because what really matters today is cheap drones powered with artificial intelligence with cloud capital with clever operating systems software this cloud capital as I call it this how I like to refer to this kind of uh software um which for me is a kind of capital that lives in the cloud now these cannot be produced in Europe at all rin metal which is really going up in the world in terms of its share price uh because it's going to be producing a lot more tanks they cannot produce cloud capital which is
what Europe is lacking Think of the only thing that keeps the Ukrainian army going for three years now in terms of their communication it's stling it's Ilon Musk's series of satellites up there indeed just above the stratosphere that are allowing uh the Ukrainians to talk to one another and coordinate their resistance against the Russian forces uh there's no alternative to starting Europe however much money we throw at the problem in the next 10 years we are not going to have an equivalent sterling it really is not doable um and the main reason for that is
the military industrial complex of the United States would never have been possible without a strong state the federal government of the United States behind it you know it's bad enough that in Europe we have a central bank without a state to have the ECBs the European Central Banks back there's no way we can build a proper European military-industrial complex right capable of producing all that which is missing not just a few tanks here and a few um you know shells ammunition cells shells over there uh without having a solid state uh under the intergovernmental administration
of the European Union it really is not possible you can see how you know we have 20 different um military-industrially a tiny little military-industrial complexes that really can never collaborate with one another without a strong state behind it um and anyway how are we going to underpin even if we wanted to underpin militarization you need to have an energy policy behind that the United States has built this remarkable horrible call it whatever you want but gigantic uh military prowess on the back of oil of um a gigantic oil sector energy sector we don't have a
European energy sector we have a German one a French one an Italian one a Greek one there's no common energy policy so how are we going to underpin this militarization uh and and and of course the main question let's say I keep saying this and it astonishes me that I don't hear many other people saying that okay let's say we have a magic wand and we create the military the military industrial complex and that we have you know two million soldiers men and women ironclad ready to invade who is going to send them into the
battlefields to kill and get killed who the European Commission the European Parliament It's not short it's going to be merged very soon or Macron there is simply no one so more weapons will be bought but there will be no solidary state which is necessary in order to build the military-industrial complex and the command structure which is necessary for a military so essentially we are going to be borrowing when we don't have any fiscal space in Europe we are going to be fragmenting our social fabric even more because money will be taken out already you saw
that in Germany didn't you you know under the new coalition government there's already been an agreement that they are going to uh cut savagely social security in order to borrow more to buy more stuff more tanks from raet now this is not going to to give rise to the technology which is necessary militarily it is not going to have the spillover effects in the rest of the economy because the rest of the economy is not capable after 15 years of no investment to produce the AI the drones and so on that that we claim we
need and we want as Europeans and therefore what's going to happen um watch this space if you don't believe me is we're going to use this extra debt in order to buy more American weaponry and therefore we're going to increase our reliance on Trump that this spending spree is meant to liberate us from it is just mindbogglingly idiotic uh so I've already alluded to that we don't lack so much guns and soldiers what we lack in Europe is a political union which um now we're never going to have because remember they used to say that
Europe goes from crisis to crisis that Europe wakes up when there's a major crisis and from crisis to crisis Europe matures that was the the uh essentially creation myth of the European Union well we had a euro the euro zone crisis we didn't learn from it uh we had uh instead of a fiscal union that would ple the political union and to the creation of a proper federal uh government federal treasury we had quantity easing money printing by Mario Draggy which saved the euro but condemned Europe never to have a political union then we had
a pandemic we could have done it then we could have woken up that that was a major crisis that could have been a wake a wakeup call it didn't work then we had the invasion of Ukraine it didn't work nobody's talking about the political union which is the scene on without it it is impossible to have military ken not that I'm supporting that we should have military ken what what I'm saying is that even from their own perspective our European leaders who claim to want military kenism are not having the discussion they should have in
order to enact it okay so let's come now to the Ukraine uh what must we do what what what is the situation there let's look at what the European Union is saying along with uh Karma the British uh prime minister they're talking now about a coalition of the willing it is as if we already had a peace in Ukraine and now the question is how are we going to keep the peace there with the Americans saying they are not going to bother they're not sending troops um Kier Stalmer Emanuel Macron Merz and so on are
talking about sending troops to Ukraine to police the peace that might be struck at some point along a line of control a militarized line of control this coalition of the willing this is what they're talking to to us about well have they thought it through let's say that they send what even a 100,000 soldiers by the way the Ukrainians have 900,000 soldiers let's say that the Europeans manage to put together a force an expeditionary force of 100,000 i don't think they will but let's say that they do now when they're there will the RAF the
French Air Force shoot down Russian planes if they are attacked will they take out missile silos in Russia if attacked because that would mean a generalized war between Western powers uh and Russia i'm not judging I'm asking are they prepared to do this i bet you they haven't even thought about it um how much will this um expeditionary force cost and who will pay for it will let's say Italy and Greece pay as much per capita as Poland and Estonia this is a question that the moment they introduce it into the European Union Council just
watch me watching you watching me they're going to fall out they will spend three years discussing it they still haven't had this conversation another question Poland and Germany Poland in particular have said expressly and explicitly that they want to develop their own nuclear weapons is the European Union in support of this and do we want Poland and let's say Germany to develop their own nuclear weapons are these discussions that uh we'll have to wait until after we create an army that goes in force to police some kind of militarized line of control in Ukraine can
they be so um irresponsible as to be talking about this without having worked out these basic questions and finally what is the DM25 peace proposal which as I said before we worked out two years ago three years almost three years ago now and we put forward we discussed this amongst ourselves because this is how DM25 works we had long discussions amongst ourselves and we voted for it in the end after amendments and counter amendments and all that uh I'll just sketch it out for you uh firstly instead of a militarized line of control whatever the
line of control is let's not call it a border because it may not be the final border but it will be a line of control uh well the alternative to a militarized line of control is a demilitarized line of control and DM25's proposal is that at least for 200 kilometers on each side of that line of control there should be not one soldier not one machine gun that to us in DM25 seems a far more sensible way of coming to an agreement of h of how to ensure peace by agreeing to move all our forces
at a safe distance of 400 km 200 km on each side from both sides that reduces or eliminates the need for a European expeditionary force in Ukraine second part of our peace proposal of the DM25 peace proposal a non-aggression protocol to be signed not just by Russia and Ukraine but by every member of the security council guaranteed by the United Nations Security Council third the basic principle should be a sovereign yes armed but neutral Ukraine and let us not forget what the difference between sovereignty and power is it is a difference between Ireland and Iceland
during the financial crisis after 2008 iceland is much smaller and much poorer than Ireland ireland is the European Union it was flying high in 2008 what was the difference iceland had sovereignty in other words it did not belong to the European Union it didn't have to answer to Brussels or to the European Central Bank it could tell its bankers who had bankrupted their banks to go and jump off a cliff they're not going to be bailed out ireland didn't have that power uh even though it was more powerful so when we say and when Ukrainians
demand that they are sovereign that's not the same thing as being unclad it means being in control of their politics and not being subject to a military block or a financial block either a western one or a Russian one uh and when people say to me but you know a sovereign nation has the right to join NATO no I'm sorry they don't sovereignty is not the right to destabilize global affairs by demanding that your country becomes a member of a military alliance a military block which is in opposition an inch away from another military block
that of Russia uh fourth what happens with the areas uh where you know in the Donbas where for you know since 1999 2000 There's been this clash big clash between Russian speakers and Ukraine speakers because this problem didn't start in 2022 it didn't even start in 2014 we had Russian speakers that were killed by Ukrainian speakers and you had to Ukrainian killers killed by Russian speakers dm25's proposal is for a arrangement for these contested areas areas where you've got two different communities with a very different narrative a very different take a very different understanding on
what is going on in that part of the world what should we do in that area well we have a very good precedent we have managed to revol resolve such such exactly the kind well not exactly but very similar sort of conflict in Northern Ireland it was a good Friday agreement so DM25 is proposing a good Friday agreement style agreement for the contested realm uh in the Donbos and all other outstanding issues should be kicked into the long grass in other words to New York to the United Nations building where negotiations can take place for
the next 20 years until they find a solution to conclude Merlin and thank you for bearing with me look under the tutilage of Joe Biden who is now gone the European Union made a huge error of um choosing war permanent perpetual never- ending war in Ukraine because they didn't want humiliation from Putin now they're ending up not only with war but also with humiliation and the peace program that demifiers put forward and alongside with Jeremy Corbyn and Ed Meluran and the progressive international it was part of what we call the the Athens declaration of 2020
uh that is a clear road ahead for ending uh in a way that leaves everyone slightly dissatisfied which is the markings of a good agreement ending this carnage which is absolutely pointless every day thousands of people are dying for no reason whatsoever thank you ma'am thank you Jiannis for laying all that out um one question that keeps coming up also in the chat now but but also in reaction to the last um few comments you made on this is this idea of peace through strength um a red black in the chat now says "Strength is
the basic element in every functional system military power is necessary not for war but for deterrence ultima fascilitarization in neutral Ukraine is simply a bogus idea it's like inviting the wolf along among the lambs i think what they're getting at is that um how can Europe credibly negotiate peace for Ukraine if it has limited military leverage and doesn't bulk up on its on its arms expenditure can you respond to that well every military conflict that did not end up in the total victory of one side over the other was always mediated by some other smaller
entity which um had no military strength whatsoever but use diplomacy in a very clever way think of the way that Norway has played uh a very important role in mediating various conflicts around the world it's not because Norway had a massive army uh it was because Norway practiced the art of diplomacy painstakingly and with consistency and developed a capacity to impress both waring parties in whatever conflict we had that it meant business that it was impartial and that it could be trusted if Europe wants to mediate to help find a solution to this pointless war
between Ukraine and Russia it will not do this by constantly pushing the Ukrainians to keep fighting a pointless war when the European the European Union is uh so cowardly that it doesn't put its own boots on the ground its own men and women um in the line of fire but it simply pushes the Ukrainians constantly uh the exhausted increasingly exhausted Ukrainians and allow me to finish off by taking that expression peace through strength well my point is that this u military buildup this military genianism this rearming of Europe is making Europe weaker it is not
making it stronger vladimir Putin is looking at the headless chickens around Brussels and Berlin and uh and Paris running around saying "Oh we we want to be stronger we we are going to borrow 800 billion uh to buy useless weapons weapons that make us even more relying on the United States not stronger and more independent and weapons which we we won't be able to use because we don't have a central command and we cannot have a central command because we don't have a central state so how is this making Europe stronger and how is it
therefore promoting the idea of peace through through strength it does the opposite because a Europe today which goes deeper into debt and more reliant on the United States because it cannot produce the satellites it cannot produce the AI it cannot produce the drones it cannot produce all the things that are necessary in the battlefield well such a Europe is becoming um a more useful idiot for Vladimir Putin on the one hand and Donald Trump on the other okay thanks Janice another question that keeps coming up um mostly on social media this one actually is that
considering that there is already a US effort as I mentioned in in the intro in Saudi Arabia why not just support the existing US efforts what specifically makes Europe's separate peace initiative necessary in comparison to what's happening with the with the US great question two things firstly we think that what Trump is proposing is the colonization of Ukraine by the United States donald Trump is explicit he wants their nuclear power stations he wants their um agricultural land he wants their ports he wants their airports he wants you know what the tri did here to Greece
the United States wants from Ukraine now we are genuine when we're saying that we care about Ukraine and about its sovereignty trump is a clear and present danger for the sovereignty of the of the Ukrainians he's stringing them along to an agreement with Putin which on the one hand and that is a good thing will end the carnage on the battlefields but on the other hand will deliver everything that is of any value in Ukraine to the to the pockets of the cabal around Donald Trump not even the Americans not even the American people now
why would Europe go along with that and support that that's one reason the second reason is because we have 300 billion of their money in Europe in Brussels Okay now there are two things you can do with that money one is to do what the idiotic leaders of uh you know the war mongering EU quarters are suggesting which is to use it to buy weapons and send them to Ukraine so that more Ukrainians die and then once that money which will not last very long 300 billion is not going to last very long maybe it
will last for another two years another 100,000 200,000 people will die and what happens then because the Europeans are not going to send troops to fight alongside the Ukrainians they may send the Russian money there in the form of weaponry that they will have bought this is the hypocrisy extended for another two three years until the money is exhausted ukrainians are exhausted uh and then Putin wins this that's what you can do alternatively you can say to Putin "Listen mate I have this 300 billion of yours you can have it back but here is the
deal there's going to be an end to this war and this war will not begin again you will withdraw your troops at least 200 make it make it 500 kilometers away and we are create going to create a demilitarized zone." By the way in response to to a previous question we're not saying that Ukraine must be demilitarized the line of control must be de demilitarized that the Ukraine must have its troops it must be very strong with its troops i'm going to have no problem with that they have a very bad experience with Russia it's
clear but they should pull them you know 200 300 km away from the line of control as should Putin and you see the beauty of this is that if Putin then starts violating his uh peace deal and bringing them back in you can actually see that happening well before it happens whereas if you have on the line of control 900,000 Ukrainian troops and 100,000 British French German and so on and then you know another million North Koreans and Russians on the other side okay a spark may just ignite the whole thing before everybody knows anything
is happening so these are the reasons why Europe should go to Moscow and put ignore what uh Trump is doing in Saudi in Riad in south in Saudi Arabia and say to Putin we have a deal for you and then let's see whether Putin wants to play off the European Union versus the United States that would be a good thing for Ukraine because something good may come out for Ukraine out of this certainly something far better than if the Europeans support Trump in Riad okay thank you another question which has been it's come up a
few times but it's been touched on most recently by Peter Kronree just now in the in the chat regarding addressing Russia's war crimes um basically the the critics are arguing that any settlement must factor in the documented war crimes of Russia including the forced deportation of Ukraine Ukrainian children so we're talking about unfreezing the assets of uh uh that are held um by in Europe of Russia but what about the war crimes how would the your peace plan account for those and bring about some sense of justice well my dear friends do you remember and
I'm referring to the people who put this question do you remember what happened when aparttheid ended in South Africa they were war crimes galore taking place in South Africa for 80 years for 80 years one war crime after the next one criminality after the next the whole apathite system was a criminal system did anyone go to prison no was I happy that nobody went to prison no but it was a price we had to pay as the anti I'm talking about this as a member of the anti-apathide movement back then for the end of apartheid
now the reason why the Nuremberg trial took place and it was a magnificent moment in human history and one that we should all be very proud of and personally I would love to see everyone who has been accused of a war crime by the international criminal court to be tried at international criminal court but Nuremberg happened because Hitler killed himself in the bunker in Berlin as the Soviet troops and the Allied troops were approaching now this is not happening in Moscow putin is not about to go into the bunker and kill himself huh and he's
not going to be dragged from Moscow by European and American troops to be taken to the International Criminal Court which of course I would welcome after Netanyahu finds himself there and the whole of the Israeli government let's not forget that okay because when I hear people telling me talking to me about Putin being tried at the ACC but at the same time they say that Netanyahu should be spared of this because he's our bastard not the other side's bastard then that is when I uh I lose my will to live so do you want in
order to maintain the fantasy that Putin it will be dragged through the ICC for Ukrainians and Russians who are actually absolutely innocent young men and some women to be dying every day uh what I would like to see as part of G25 plans is something along the lines of what happened in South Africa because there was no um um you know legal process that imprisoned and punished as they deserved the apartheid criminals but there was a truth and reconciliation process where the two sides got a chance to um heir their grievances to ex to tell
the world about the crimes that were committed against their loved ones against themselves and that was a process which was imperfect but nevertheless was a healing process i would love to see that in the donas between the Ukrainian speakers and the Russian speakers i would love to see a to be able to see the people in Ukraine who uh whose lives were wrecked by the Russian invasion i would like to see the Russians who whose lives were wrecked by the Azov neo-Nazi battalion of the Ukrainian army i would love to see a truth and reconciliation
committee doing its work under the opice of the United Nations once this proposal along the lines of what DM25 has been uh proposing um is implemented thank you Jianis another question um from Khis in the chat but again also echoed uh plenty elsewhere is the idea that the current political culture um in Europe with widespread instability uh insecurity nationalism it seems to favor rearmament indeed there was a um a poll just a couple of days ago from Geopolitique which said that 70% of Europeans are in favor of common defense so given this climate how would
you convince Europeans to trust diplomatic solutions over increasing military spending and confrontation well with great difficulty that is a great success of the wararmongers uh you know because whenever whenever you have a banking crisis as severe as we had in 1929 or 2008 because 2008 as I keep saying is our generation's 1929 you have a banking crisis this then gets transferred onto the shoulders of the weakest of citizens this is what happened after 1929 1930 in Europe in the United States it's what happened after 2008 then you have increasing austerity and authoritarianism that brings down
two things firstly investment so that creates more stagnation more discontent worse jobs people who can't make ends uh uh they can't make ends meet then you have the fragmentation of the politics and then you have the rise of the monsters the hatching of the serpent's egg uh the Nazi the fascist egg the ultra right the the the the populists who stand on the soap and say "I will make you proud again if you give me absolute authority." Um and that also means not only will I give you a higher pension but also it means that
we're going to spend more money on weaponry because our country deserves to be stronger and we are going to have to always in the context of defense let us not forget Meccan and folks watching out there that u Hitler and Mussolini in the 1920s and 30s we're not talking about a war of aggression they never told their people vote for us because they did stand in elections right and actually Hitler won the election that brought him to power uh with the connivance of the liberal center uh he never said to them "Vote for me support
me back me join my party my fascist party my Nazi party because I want to make war against other people." No I'm going to defend you i'm going to defend the fatherland or the motherland I'm not sure probably the fatherland um the the whole of the Holocaust tragedy was being portrayed by the fascists and the Nazis as a defense of the German nation it was never portrayed as an offense let's go and do war huh never so to to put it very bluntly in the vulgar way that it deserves after 15 years after our generations
1929 which happened 2008 2009 2010 after all those years of no investment folkswagen cannot make cars that can compete with BYD or Tesla so that you know the Germans can't sell cars so they want the rest of Europe to buy tanks and Ryan Medal is taking over Volkswagen's um disused production lines they will be making tanks and have you not noticed this is me talking to everybody who's been looking who's been who's listening out there have you not noticed in the last three four years every newspaper every news bulletin is telling you that the Russians
are about about to enter our cities and therefore of of course people say I think that you know 70 75% saying that they want rearmament is is remarkable because it means that is a 25% who have not been duped that is what I find astonishing the 25% say "Come on get off this this is ridiculous." Because the fact of the matter is whatever one may think of Putin and I personally am on record since 2001 calling him a war criminal so whatever you think about him even if you have the worst opinion of him as
I do um the fact of the matter is that Russia is a fading power russia is not a military threat to Germany to Poland even to Estonia and to the Baltics they just don't have what it takes look at them for three years now Putin has been throwing everything he has hundreds of thousands of soldiers airplanes missiles you know hypersonic weapons um every drones at Ukraine and he can still cannot take Harip or procravost or whatever it's called you know thousands die to to get one or two villages so the only thing that really has
strengthened him is this war because a war economy in Russia has has given a second wind to a Russian economy which nevertheless in the long term is always going to fade the demographics of Russia guarantee that Russia is not a threat for Europe but you see Ryan needs you to be scared of the Russians because it's the only way it can convince you to buy tanks that will be built on the disus used production lines that Volkswagen doesn't need anymore because it doesn't have the capacity to sell you its cars so on that point is
your argument that Putin can't uh expand westwards or that he doesn't want to or both well look nobody knows what Putin wants anybody who claims and it would be complete madness to rely on one's sense of what one thinks that Putin wants uh Putin has shown his brutality primarily in Chachchna where he killed in a few days 250,000 people in order to sol solidify his regime in Russia by telling lies uh uh and killing his own people or he people who belong to the Russian or used to belong to the belong to the Russian Federation
um my argument is that that he doesn't have the military capacity to threat in Europe this is a fake um fake threat it is and and actually it's a negative threat because by convincing all of us that we need to arm against Putin we are strengthening Putin in his bid to keep his people under his thumb to keep the war economy going which is great for his regime his regime has never been richer as a result of this war econom okay thank you and and another um angle on this which is echoed by Ultima Faji
in the chat is that the Russian government routinely doesn't respect agreements um to quote him he says Ukraine gave up nuclear weapons for sovereignty for example uh he mentions the Budapest memorandum and how Russia violated that so who could uh if we can't trust them why would they why would they respect their agreement this seems to be a common concern how would you respond to that well this is a common concern for anyone who is approaching a conflict with a view to turning it into a peace treaty there's never been a conflict in the history
of humanity where there was trust of the other side i mean by definition you don't trust the other side because you are at war with them so the argument that because we don't trust them we shouldn't have a peace deal with them is an argument for perpetual war you can have that argument but I'm not going to follow you down one path it's a very dangerous path and it's a very sad one point number one point number two since 1991 Russia has never done anything other than what what it had warned the West that it
would do i'm not defending what it did okay make don't make this this mistake uh what I'm saying is that it always did what it had proclaimed it would do and it never violated any agreement the the West is the one that has been repeatedly systematically violating every agreement ever think of the major violation by the United States of the antibbolistic missile treaty who was was it that tore up the antibbolistic missile treaty there was this agreement between Russia and the United States after 1991 that there would be no testing of antibbolistic missile technology and
the Americans tore it up and essentially uh started testing weaponry uh that uh is that is intended to increase the threat of nuclear catastrophe that's point number one point number two we know don't we know we now have the documents please go and study them that Gorbachov and Yelin and Putin had been lied to by successive European and American governments particularly American governments when they had said to them that the NATO would not expand all the way to the borders of Russia we know that and we know that Russia had said from the beginning that
they will go to war if Georgia first and Ukraine second are accceeded are accepted into NATO and NATO troops and NATO nuclear bombs go right to the edge of the Russian border they've said that and by the way this is also what the United States have always always maintained regarding the United States the Monroe Doctrine when the Russians the Soviets placed what five six missiles on the island of Cuba uh John FK John Kennedy President Kennedy threatened to blow up the world and the rest of Europe said "Yeah of course completely right they have no
right to put nuclear weapons right on the doorstep." I don't think that that was right but you know uh this was what was being done and also it was the United States that brought nuclear weapons to Turkey so the idea that just because Putin is um a tyrant uh the way that he suppresses his own people is uh well documented the uh conditions in Russian prisons are um um ludicrously monstrous there is no doubt that he is an evil dictator that is how I see him others disagree with me some of my comrades disagree with
him this is how I see it but on the question of mutual trust it is clear that it is the western side that cannot be trusted minsk one Minsk 2 who violated these agreements who was it that overthrew a democratically elected semi-corrupt president not more corrupt than Porosenko or Zalinski Yanovich it was the United States and the Europeans they overthrew this democratically elected government at least majoritaranian government okay uh so don't talk to me about uh the trustworthiness of Putin let's look at our side of the pond of the dividing line we have not been
exactly trustworthy thank you again another question that keeps popping up is this idea that rearm well now it's called I've forgotten the name it's so so mundane what is it something 2030 anyway the whole 800 billion euro plan to to rearm Europe um that this is actually just a pretext to centralize more power into Brussels and away from national governments how would you respond to that well I'm not in disagreement with this i'm not at all in disagreement with this because especially under us there's been a massive concentration of power uh without any legitimacy in
any of the treaties of the European Union in the hands of uh from the lion and her very close circle around her she is simultaneously the most innane idiotic mindless brainless policyless president of the European Commission and the most powerful we ever had and that combination is is is murderous right to have the most innane and powerful at the same time um it it is true it is true but it's not just that it's not that just some half crazed person like her along with Kayakalas who is not half crazy she's out and out um
insane uh we know that she a few weeks before she became our uh chief of um foreign and defense affairs Europe's foreign and defense affairs she went on television she was being interviewed and she advocated the breakup of Russia a nuclear power i mean and this person was elected to become you know our foreign minister in inverted commerce it's not just you know that something went wrong in the DNA or the mindset of these people there is a lot of money uh this 800 billion um which doesn't exist it's all going to be borrowed from
the privateier financial financiersh uh is a great boon for the privateeers financiers they are laughing their heads off as we speak because they can see that they're going to make enormous profits rents financial rents from lending this money to European Union and then of course you've got um uh you have uh British aerospace systems you have Rinetal you have uh uh Italian companies you have French companies and so on they are going to make a mint out of it so the money making that is built on the backs of um all those weak taxpayers who
are going to be called upon to repay those gigantic debts go along hand hand inhand with the ambitions of people like Fondelan and Kaya Kalis thank you Yianice um I'm going to read a couple of comments and questions from the chat pick and mix and whatever you want to respond to because there's quite a quite a debate going on here emilio Aruro 80 says "How does European real relate to the further militarizing of Europe's borders and all the private companies taking advantage of that and the migration crisis created by wars abroad?" Aldo Fior says "Does
it make sense to look at proposing if accept if acceptable to them Russia joining the EU it's provocative but I think we should invest in a postputin scenario obviously without NATO rossiper says "Russia has been used as the big baddy to justify the elites excesses for too long." And MK asks "Could Europe not donate all its current arms to Ukraine and use the 800 billion to fix health care education housing and inequality it's not like Russia will be at our doorstep soon." Guaness backwards well the whole point is to stop people being killed in Ukraine
why do we want to give them more weaponry i understand that you are justesting um and indeed we could do a lot with 800 billion when it comes to education fixing the trains fixing our energy system which is preposterous it has made us utterly dependent on Qatar on Norway on um Texan liquidfied n natural gas which uh is extracted from the earth in Texas and in New Mexico by destroying the earth through fracking there's so much good we could do with this money but the solution is not to send more weaponry to Ukraine it is
simultaneously to use this 800 billion i would say a lot more actually uh and DM25 has very solid proposals on how we could have 600 billion every year not just once not a one-off 600 billion every year how it could be financed without extra taxes and like what they are doing extra taxes for weaponry uh for the European Green New Deal and if you want you can go into DM25 site and just type green new deal for Europe and you'll see exactly what we're proposing uh on the question of um bringing Russia into the EU
you know okay assuming that you're joking uh I'm going to extend your joke a little bit if in 20 you know 14 or 2022 Europe really wanted to destroy the Russian economy this is what they should have done bring Russia not just in the European Union but into the Europe that would have wrecked the Russian economy the Russian economy which is getting stronger as a as a result of the war in Ukraine and the sanctions and the war economy would simply not be able to do what they're doing to strengthen their economy under the regulations
of the Euro zone so you instead of embarking on militarization against Russia if they really wanted to bring it to its knees they should bring it into the Europe uh I don't remember the first question though m can you remind me remind me i got so excited he asked Emilio Arur um Arturo how could how does Europe rearmment relate to the front militarizing of Europe exactly Europe's borders well it's not directly linked um free militarization would have gone on even if we didn't have uh the militarization of the border but you know allow me a
very unscientific explanation [ __ ] merges when you are when you are adopting uh weaponized misanthropy in one rail then it tends to spread in another rail so isn't it not fascinating how we have managed to differentiate between fashionable and unfashionable refugees so if refugees come from the war in Syria or in Iraq and Afghanistan or from Sudan they are invaders who are um being utilized as an invasion army by dark forces out there uh remember the notion of Europe being a beautiful garden that needs to keep the jungle out there yeah but when they
are white blue-eyed and blonde and Christian and they come from Ukraine we throw our doors open to them as if the war in Sudan or in Afghanistan or Iraq or in Syria was uh any less uh devastating than the war in Ukraine so yeah it's a it's misanthropy takes different forms but what brings the whole thing together and I think your question is apt as a result is the great need for um defense contractors for large conglomerates who are facing a major death of demand by normal consumers because of state has really hit normal consumers
they don't have the money to buy the stuff from them so they need to find a way of drumming up demand for their wares uh and you know war either on refugees at the border or in Ukraine or sending weapons to Netanyahu to complete his genocide of Palestinians it's good business thank you Janice and we're kind of reaching the end of the hour here so Janice any final words anything you wanted to say proactively or any sum up that you'd like to give as we close the call the war in Ukraine will go down in
history as one of the most pointless wars ever it should have been present prevented it could have been frozen within a month after its commencement indeed President Zilinski and President Putin uh with the help of the Turkish government had reached in April of 2022 an agreement to end the war it was the West that interjected and uh pushed Zalinski away from that peace deal uh put him off that agreement the result is that Ukraine today is less sovereign smaller it has shrunk as a result of Russia's successes in the battlefield its people have uh lost
much of their verb not fully thankfully and now it is up to us to stop President Trump from being the one who introduces an unjust peace a peace which will uh utterly enthuse Putin and will turn Ukraine into the 51st state it won't be Canada it won't be Greenland it will be Ukraine we Europeans must realize that spending more and more of the money we don't have for weaponry against Putin that Putin doesn't give a damn about and will never be fear fearful of uh that is turning us more and more into the problem and
less and less into the solution the DM25 proposal uh which essentially requires Europe to play an active role in bringing about the demilitarization of the line of control instead of the coalition of the willing which will be untenable and will never work and even if it does work it will jeopardize long-term peace uh use the 300 billion of confiscated frozen funds in Belgium as a carrot for Putin uh and uh seriously consider the fact that there is an area between Ukraine and Russia in the Donbas where two different communities live in the same way that
they've lived in Northern Ireland and deserve deserve a kind of arrangement similar to the Good Friday Agreement in Northern Ireland thank you Janice and for you guys out there if you would like to join DM25 the address is dm25.org/join to help to push for the kinds of proposals we've been um outlining here today if you'd like to donate to DM25 we have no big backers it's all small donations from people like you please go to dm25.org/donate hit the bell icon to stay informed of the things that uh we're putting out on YouTube we've got an
interview coming up with a a student protester in Serbia and how they managed to organize the biggest protest in that country's history we've got our usual live stream two weeks from now and plenty of other interesting shows that uh I think will really excite and inspire you so please do that and we will see you at the same time same place two weeks from now take care and
