the unforgivable sin there is a sin that is spoken of in the bible that is the unforgivable sin it is an expression that emerges from the synoptic gospels you can find this sin in one of the most powerful chapters in all the bible the 12th chapter of matthew reveals to us a sin where there is no pardon in this life or the life to come a lot of people worry and stress about whether they have committed this sin the number of emails we receive from people who think they have committed the unforgivable sin is shocking
you would be surprised that the amount of people who are living in constant fear that they have committed this unforgivable sin and what i have noticed is that there are a lot of people who don't exactly understand what the unforgivable sin is for the record the unforgivable sin is not idolatry murder perversion adultery or anything along those lines the unforgivable sin is much more complex than that matthew 12 22-34 then one was brought to him who was demon-possessed blind and mute and he healed him so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw
and all the multitudes were amazed and said could this be the son of david now when the pharisees heard it they said this fellow does not cast out demons except by biseb the ruler of the demons but jesus knew their thoughts and said to them every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation and every city or house divided against itself will not stand if satan casts out satan he is divided against himself how then will his kingdom stand and if i cast out demons by bisob by whom do your sons cast them out therefore
they shall be your judges but if i cast out demons by the spirit of god surely the kingdom of god has come upon you or how can one enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods unless he first binds the strong man and then he will plunder his house he who is not with me is against me and he who does not gather with me scatters abroad therefore i say to you every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men but the blasphemy against the spirit will not be forgiven anyone who speaks a word against
the son of man it will be forgiven him but whoever speaks against the holy spirit it will not be forgiven him either in this age or in the age to come either make the tree good and its fruit good or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad for a tree is known by its fruit brood of vipers how can you being evil speak good things for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks it is important to note who jesus is talking to when he speaks of the unforgivable sin he is
not talking to believers but he is talking to a group of unbelieving pharisees now how have they committed this sin they have committed this sin by attributing the work of jesus to the devil matthew 12 24 now when the pharisees heard it they said this fellow does not cast out demons except by bisob the ruler of the demons notice how they did not mention the holy spirit at any point they did not actively or consciously say anything against the holy ghost what they did was attribute the work that jesus christ had done to the power
of a demon when christ has done that work through the power of the holy spirit in other words these people looked at the work of jesus and said that is the work of a demon that is the work of someone who is energized by the very power of hell they are rejecting the power of the holy spirit working through jesus christ in other words they are rejecting that jesus is the son of the living god and essentially rejecting salvation now the question is can a christian do this can someone who has been born again stand
back and look at the work of jesus and say his work is the work of the devil the answer is no therefore a christian cannot commit the sin and the people who have committed this sin don't care if they have or have not because they see the work of jesus as evil you don't need to go about being afraid of whether you have committed an unforgivable sin as a christian those who are committing the sin unto death are never remorseful about their actions they act with full consciousness of their actions people who turn to jesus
christ in faith cannot commit this sin people who turn to jesus christ in faith cannot commit this because they acknowledge who he is and they acknowledge that he is the way to god now what i want you to take away from this message is that god is a god that can forgive you of your sins regardless of what you may have committed in the past don't live in fear you are not going to hell god is a forgiving god confess your sins today and god will forgive you today matthew 12 31 wherefore i say unto
you all manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men but the blasphemy against the holy ghost shall not be forgiven unto men every single sin will be forgiven what have you done in your life that still haunts you confess your sin today and stop living in the past you are beating yourself up for a sin that god has forgiven you about move on with your life stop living in the past stop living in the past god has forgiven you stop living in guilt stop living with the weight of hell over your life god
in his very nature is a forgiving god don't allow the spirit of condemnation to live in your life one thing that i have learned through years of being a christian minister is that the devil knows if you are truly a born again believer there is nothing he can do to stop you from going to heaven but what he can do is try to make your life miserable with the spirit of condemnation there are so many christians who feel as if the sin they have committed are unforgivable they are not god is not angry at you
if you are his child god is not angry at you god doesn't hold hell over our heads he loves us and cares for us you were born sinners and we all know the wages of sin and sin always always always claims full price but thank god you have a savior who came for sinners sinners like you and me jesus came for sinners you and i fall into the category of the people jesus came for so i encourage you today to turn away from your sins and confess them to the lord so that you may be
blessed god is a forgiving god god is not a man that holds grudges confess your sins repent from your ways and be blessed of the lord be blessed of the lord be blessed of the lord romans 4 verse 7 blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven and whose sins are covered when god forgave you of your sins the night you got saved you were fully forgiven your sins are forgiven that should make you shout from the rooftops your sins have been forgiven god will never bring them and slap you in the face with them god
will never blackmail you with your sins if your sins are forgiven they are forgotten and they are paid for and christ paid the cost of sin for us because the wages of sin had to be paid but because of christ you are forgiven aren't you glad your slate has been wiped clean and you are forgiven think of all the sins you have committed and know each and every one of them have been forgiven blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven and whose sins are covered and your home is in glory your citizenship is in heaven
your name is in the lamb book of life you have been sealed by the holy spirit of god to the day of redemption you are forgiven you are a chosen generation you are a royal priesthood you are a part of the holy nation you're his and he is yours i mean your mother and father may not forgive you for the stuff you did wrong i mean your husband or wife may not forgive you for something you did wrong but aren't you glad you are serving a god that doesn't forgive you because other people have forgiven
you our god says in first john 1 verse 9 if we confess our sins he is faithful and just and will forgive us for our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness your family may hold your past against you for the rest of your life but bless god you are forgiven
