I want to enjoy my time at the beach while eating fresh fish. I can finally wear my summer clothes again: my sunglasses, comfortable shorts and my colorful T-shirt. The journey takes approximately four hours by car.

There are flowers and stalls offering food everywhere. There are langos, a large white bread with garlic, fries and various sausages with rolls. Sometimes also potato salad, coleslaw or soups.

In addition to the best fruit juices from the region, there is also alcohol to drink everywhere. Beer and wine from nearby farmers. It smells of fat and alcohol – and Miriam loves it.

Even as a small child she loved the city festival. It lasts a whole week and takes place at the end of summer. It is very warm today, the first day of the festival.

Miriam walks alone across the main square. People laugh and are happy. Her friend Achim is also coming to the festival.

The two of you go for a walk along the lake. “We have to go to the Ferris wheel,” says Miriam and Achim agrees. It's right on the lake.

You pay €4 and do a few laps in the big wheel. You can see the whole city center. It smells like flowers and looks beautiful.
