This video goes through many phases. You ought to keep up. Get ready and come along.
Literally! Because I'm gonna go over there. Real quick.
Liz, would you. . .
Hello, JoutJout Family. We're back. Here I have a water filter.
I got it as a gift from some big friends of mine. I'm very happy with it Yet this filter is faulty, as we can see. Can you see it here?
It drips. So what can we with this problem? We either get upset OR we realize that, due to the fact that this filter drips, I've been drinking more water lately 'cause I have to come here and empty it all the time as it keeps dripping.
And because I'm drinking more water, everything in life feels better Thus, this video is about how amazing things happen when other things don't go as well as we planned. AND it's about our weird relationship with mistakes. I feel like I've already made a similar video.
BUT, we've recorderd over 400 videos so we expect that some topics may return in this channel. There are some stuff in life that go wrong. That go opposite to what you had planned.
Opposite to what you thought might work. Consequently, we have post-it's. We have tempered glass We have tempered glass.
which is that one that doesn't explode onto your face. It cracks but stay in shape What else have we got? My career on YouTube.
It only happened because all I planned went wrong. We have plenty of stuff that only worked 'cause something went wrong. Even though, our relationship with mistakes.
. . .
Despite examples of things that happened only because all the rest went wrong we learn that mistakes are horrible, sad and something bad. At school, when one makes a mistake, one LOSES score. If you fail at the test you LOSE score.
You don't win. You don't score. You loose score instead.
You get WORSE grades than your friends You're BELLOW your friends who committed less mistakes so the ones who commit MORE MISTAKES are WORSE, really THE WORST. and they're DUMB. All related to the mistakes you had is BAD.
And if you failed it means you're BAD and DUMB, WORSE THAN BAD! Therefore we have this weird approach towards mistakes. SO, where do we find games in which we win by failing?
win knowledge or whatever. . .
. Science. .
. it only exists 'cause a lot went wrong. .
. right Lígia? Things only went right in science because many other things went wrong.
Then people started saying: "- That's wrong! So we've learned. .
. "-that we shouldn't mix these compounds. " Thereafter amazing things happened.
Penicillin has caused a growth of expectancy in. . .
. . peoples lives and saved some folks also.
All mistakes! Because the scientist dude who came up with that he left some bacteria. .
. went on vacation Then he returned and remembered he had forgotten the bacteria there. He looked and saw some mold.
The mold. . .
the bacteria didn't quite liked the mold. He thought about using mold to kill bacteria. And there's penicillin!
So if you're making mistakes, for we sometimes do make mistakes! So you go on with life thinking it has ended, has come to its end. EVERYTHING will go wrong from now on!
And then. . .
You innocent know nothing! ! There is so much stuff happening in your life because that one thing went wrong.
If I had gotten the university degree I wanted to accomplish back in 2009 perhaps I wouldn't be a youtuber. We CAN'T forecast those things, right? But.
. . Who knows maybe I'd be somewhere not as nice as where I am at.
OR. . .
Maybe I'd be somewhere much nicer for amazing things might had happened things other than the ones which indeed happened but likewise amazing things. But the thing is: If there are things that seem bad and if they seem wrong or be going wrong. Hang in there!
Because soon enough, some good things will happen that will only happen 'cause the first things went wrong and those new things will be so amazing that you won't be living without them! And they only happened 'cause. .
. . you didn't go to university Right?
I wouldn't have met Caio I wouldn't have a YouTube channel OR, maybe I'd have a channel about books. BookTuber Because I'd be doing publishing. Would be working as an editor I'd realize I'm not good at publishing, then I'd go: 'BookTuber' Whenever we fail we focus on the fact we've failed.
But while this failing closes many doors but it also opens many others. And sometimes you're like: "- Oh I failed! I failed!
I failed. . .
" You can't see the other doors opening And it is in those doors that amazing new things will happen. YAAAAAY Really amazing things are coming soon! So open your eyes to see them coming!
'Cause we tend to miss them very often. . .
And don't realize that they happened WANT AN IDEA TO BECOME A BILLIONAIRE? And change the future of the nation and the world? Create a videogame that: when you LOSE you WIN prizes!
And the name of the prize is: "LEARNING" I don't know. I don't know if this videogame is gonna be fun You can re-structure it! But the.
. . The lesson at the end must be that!
Oh no, game over! YAAAY Got through the phases! [CAIO'S voice]: "So, it´s a game you gotta create, not a videogame.
" Yeah. It doesn't need to be. .
. True that! A videogame is a device!
GAME, is the one you gotta create! You don't have to create the device! Create the game that goes on the device.
Got it? And if you wanna get even richer. Try for various.
. . Various videogames!
Those that are not the games. Did I get it right now? I'm not in that phase anymore, you know?
I just. . .
let it go. IMAGINE! Imagine how.
. . What our children wouldn't learn when they would find out a little something good when losing in the game and making a mistake.
If they'd win a little prize when making a mistake. You know? Even a little prize.
It's not like "-Ah you made a mistake" "-Here is some. . .
" "-. . .
CONFETTI! " It's just like: "-You made a mistake. .
. " "-. .
. what did you learn from this mistake? At least something you have learned from this mistake.
You have to have learned something out of this shit! So. .
. Let's do that for our children. Another great idea: get a little notebook and write this on this little notebook's cover: "My favorite little mistakes" And then you have to write down your little mistakes and what you learned from them.
Because, we associate mistake to losing something, right? "You LOSE points. " "You LOSE the game.
" "LOSE in the. . .
" "the. . .
" "the. . .
the. . .
"LOSE a boyfriend "LOSE a friend. " You made a mistake, you lose in life. YOU'RE A LOSER when you make a mistake.
You don't have to be a loser when you make a mistake. You can learn from those mistakes, and become an INCREDIBLE PERSON! YAAAAAY I'm about to say something very cliché, self-help.
. . In chinese the ideogram, is it 'ideogram' what you call it?
The ideogram that represents 'crisis' Is made out of two two little things. The first one is for 'risk' And the other one is for: 'oportunity' What a beautiful lesson! The end of the video.
But there is a little bit more. There is also something that my friend, Raquel, always tells me. That is: "-'LEARNINGS'.
Girl friend, 'LEARNINGS'. " Every time that something goes wrong she goes: "-Girl friend, 'LERANINGS'! " She says 'learnings', because.
. . She works in advertising, and those people always speak in english.
Whenever they can. They switch up to english. And so 'learnings' stands for 'things you learned'.
" So when something goes wrong she says: "-Girl friend, 'learnings'! The next time we do something else. .
. " "-Girl friend, 'LEARNINGS'. .
. blah blah blah blah. .
. " I love 'LEARNINGS'! Have you ever seen the briefing of the ramification of 'learnings'?
" SO THIS IS IT! Jout Jout Family! I wish 'good mistakes' for all of you!
Bye! Learn from them!
