2025 VW ID Buzz Review // Too Cool For School

right there but now we have to thanks damn it um anyway the point is is that there's a lot of cars we want to cover and we want to cover them all on the main Channel simpler for you guys easier for us everyone's happy and you might still see the extra Ro house guys maybe on the sofa we'll see also from a slightly more human perspective we've got a lot of moving Parts in our lives at the moment in a good way but we don't want to burn out so this is also a solution to

that anyway uh oh that's the other thing we haven't named this series oh yeah we hoping you guys could come up with the name cuz we can't agree I think it should be called throttle house unplugged and that's awful and I was thinking throttle house Express except I've realized that the acronym for that is the the so if you can come up with a name brilliant yeah we are standing before the new Volkswagen ID Buzz I'm just realizing in this moment that buzz is supposed to sound like bus no way it's like the electric version

of the for those who already knew that you're going to be an idiot but I guarantee someone out there is going oh yeah is that a homonym yeah maybe I think hom has this exact anyway VW are calling this their halo car and they are pricing it as such this one's like 90 Canadian almost ASP because it's the for motion first edition that's just too much that's just too much it is but it's potentially the coolest thing that VW have made this might actually be the coolest VW right now Dan Dan back here on us

some surfaces wireless charger in there which actually quite good hasn't heated my phone that much hasn't heated your phone that much oh it's a nice little spot for it too that's a good idea this is the new screen so if you were to buy the new you everyone says get the mark 8.5 live golf this is what the screen would be this is the new screen this is lit at night oh wow do they like these bits though yeah it's all lit okay they didn't add a volume knob which would have been such an easy

I don't think this is so responsive and so good I I I have tried it and it's actually not that bad I remember it being worse so I think they've calibrated it a little bit better but still a knob would be better one click heated seats that's nice and cooled and these no it's too cold too cold take that off okay uh in drive I just wanted to check out the oh that that's bad yeah why is that so bad I the quality is terrible that's horrendous like thanks for the 360 camera but it's not

very good no that's not acceptable okay otherwise yeah materials feel okay you know it's not it's it's Volkswagen right it's not Audi no it's just it's supposed to be wellmade but you know not over the top we've got the electroc magnatic Magneto roof electrical you don't remember what that word is do I forget the word there you go o oh I see very nice I just I want to point out that the the what I'm looking at here is very strange that uh wind screen is 3 miles from my face doesn't it doesn't it look

like you're looking out the rear of a car yeah a little bit like this looks like a se you know what it actually looks like and it's kind of exciting is it feels very spacecraft to me there's just something there's something like very spaceship about it I really like it there was stars out there and I had a warp drive button I'd be happy so I'm glad you said that cuz they've done fun things like you have a play and pause button for your break and throttle I that's cool what happens if I push the

play button full on you ready go not bad it doesn't snap your neck not slow like a 5 and 1/2 second to 60 all it ever needed to be all it ever needed to be you you because I think the EV powertrain for this is perfect you can absolutely haul ass in a vehicle that's shaped like this in a way that no vehicle shape like this before has been able to move that's absolutely correct and we and we you know originally when we were talking about this car when it was getting teased and stuff the

only other vehicle that looked a bit like this was the canoe do you remember that yeah the canoe we oh we wanted to do a a California road trip with the canoe and this and that didn't happen cuz the canoe is vapor Weare and then this took 5 years to get here but it is here finally so there there's a few things going on so the you know we've got the captain chairs behind us it's a three row you can remove the third row completely for storage space there's a bit of storage in the back

I just want to point out there is a cool uh VW people carrier in Europe that we don't get yeah I know and and and it has cooler seats than this it has this center console instead of just being a thing that you can uncp and clip back there it's bigger and it slides all the way to the back and you can get rear facing seats and the seats can turn around and they can face each other that is a a bit of a better interior you can get it in there's one you can get

in twoone which looks like the buzz that's right yeah so but as a result though the buzz is much more novelty here do I remember the name of that thing no do we need to no we'll put it up in probably in the text I guess they're very proud of their third row it's a very spacious third row and the headrests look like droids oh one of those okay and then Harrison who 6'6 I think he just squeezes in there for head room but he's got leg room and then the second row is very spacious

you can move it back and forth and lean it back and it has heated seats in the in the second row right the windows so from the outside it looks like it's got massive black windows only only the port hole bit opens that's a weird like even in like modern minivans you can put Windows Down full windows or at least clip I don't know this in order to operate them you've got to hit the word rear oh they have it how hard is it to just engineer an extra set of buttons why do I have

to switch my the reason I think it works better in this than the id4 is you know in the id4 it's like feels more of a normal car you might want to put all four windows down opening those windows does not provide much benefit so the person operating those is most likely the person sitting in the seat next to it but put here put that back let's show the ladies and gentlemen it's sliding all right so I'll click rear yeah and then and there you go see it slides back Zippity dud yeah why' that take

was a lot of this motion it's got a lot of MTH we didn't get that in yeah 6200 lb a lot of mass yeah I I'm just looking right now I've got 70% battery left and it's saying that I have 249 km of range yeah the range is where this thing suffers so it's this on the full motion you get 37 22 km not huge that's not a that's not a I mean for a road trip car yeah that that's the thing is it's it's supposed to be a road trip classically the bus was a

drive across California with your hippie friends right that's what it's for and it is a family car so it should be able to do road trips and that's not quite as much range as I was hoping it was going to have no that's a bit of a bummer because the Lucid gravity well they haven't announced it yet but apparently the touring is going to be over 400 mil of range right yeah that's significant but then that doesn't do as good of a job hiding the fact that it's a minivan as this this is the bus

it's a bus it's not you're not very honest with what it is I think this is a fantastic piece of design I think it's a really really cool yeah uh like throwback it everyone loves it I think I think the steering is weighted perfectly I think the throttle calibration is pretty good the brake pedal's slightly too soft yeah but otherwise it drives fine it drives smaller than it is because the EV stuff and the low center of gravity yeah it's it's I've I've honestly I've had to choose between this and driving the GOL R this

week yeah and this is easier to jump in and just go that's an EV thing though that's an EV thing as much as it is a VW bust yeah but I I want I want to try the GTI EV when it comes out that crazy new yeah I just every time we we drive one of these you you realize an eeve is just easier to get in and go it's just harder everything outside everything else is harder yeah like I had to sit and charge this before we filmed today at the yeah and how much

charge did you get and how long did it take in like 40 minutes I was only on an up to 50 kilowatt so all that's available that's all that's available yeah near our place yeah not perfect not perfect and with the range not being great it's m but you know otherwise it is a 335 horsepower allhe Drive pretty quick perfect looking thing yeah okay well let's pull over and see if we can uh draw up a conclusion yeah you want you want a boomerang back well we're not calling it Boomerang they already named it James

isn't that a thing in Instagram Boomerang yes James I did notice that the turning radius was pretty crap yeah no rear whe steer yeah look everything in terms of the drive is normal there's nothing sometimes we get in uevs and they're like they do you know the G wagon doeses the spin and this doesn't is just it's just nice it's easy to drive it's comfortable but the problem is is that you can get a like a Toyota Sienna hybrid like a top-of-the-line limited Sienna hybrid for like $20,000 less this it accomplishes the same thing and

you don't have to worry about the range which isn't that good but this does something that that doesn't so you know in England minivans are called people carriers yes but here not until I got to this continent did I realize they have such a reputation for being like the not cool yeah this has this does something it I they're coming back though they're coming back I'm just saying just a little bit well wagons are also wag are yeah but otherwise minivans are here in terms of not cool and then there's all the other classes of

car and somehow this is over here it is it that's the level it's traversed that's more than it has in range it is extremely cool it is exem range is manageable it's honestly fine it's just not competitive I I still don't know how the doors work by the way I feel does they've been maybe we've had it off too long that does seem incorrect though it's been doing it's it's it's been quirky since we've got it is quirky it's a novelty vehicle and I think as far as novelty Vehicles Go I mean they absolutely have

nailed the styling even even if you go for the single block color there even with the door half open it looks great I don't know how it always looks good it's yeah the wheels are actually really cool by the way and like this is the one of one of the few times I think where an EV wheel to block the air totally works looks like a old Hub whatever this is I've absolutely loved living with it oh one thing we didn't mention is the sound system is really powerful and way better than any VW I've

been in childproof that's childproof is what that is done this is a safe very fun very cool car yeah um but again you are making some compromises like what just why just when there the ev9 more range yeah proba probably is a bit better good turning radius on that one visti visti vti's coming theck is long and excellent vtic has been confirmed for the arrival yes how do we end these videos by the way because the exost guys would just do a hard cut in the middle of a sentence so let's do the opposite the
