High converting VSL for sales page (smart phone trick)

your clever little pattern interrupt videos you know the ones where you show the movie clips or the cartoons or something and it's funny and it's witty and it shows you how funny and cool you are well guess what got a strike not a youtube strike but a copyrighted strike on one of my videos so we decided ah you might as well nix it might throw in a few little five second clips of something funny here and there but until we figure that out you'll just have to deal with me talking right at you right from

the beginning okay now let's dive right into the training so i call this the 90 second smartphone pattern interrupt okay because that's really what it is the 90 second smartphone pattern interrupt is a raw live on camera introduction to a vsl or video sales letter these work best for five minute ad vs or a 20 minute vsl that sets the top of a written sales page like i'm going to show you today and the intro is shot using a simple smartphone and goes immediately into slides this serves to create a youtube type of feel for

the url is officelessagency.com forward slash entry i think that's where i am right now i'm not really sure but this is a great example of a page that's doing very well uh probably to the tune of millions of dollars a month so that well and this format is working incredibly well what this format is is a sales page right typical sales page you see right nothing unusual here but on top of it is this pattern interrupt 90 second long live intro as you can see it is shot with guiding chases shooting it and as you

can see except for this one cut of a stock aerial footage from a drone it shot with him just talking with the normal background headsets in his ears right from his own iphone you can tell he's actually holding it so nothing fancy going on here a few things like putting graphs over things you don't even need to do that with this trick as i'm going to show you so here are the rules that you need to follow if you want to shoot one of these 90 second pattern or interrupt style on iphone on smartphone vsl

intros for yourself they're pretty simple check it out first of all you want to shoot with a smartphone and one that you can get a teleprompter app for that's definitely an iphone you can do that probably an android phone uh there's a lot of different teleprompter apps you can use right now so that's literally what chase was doing he was just reading with his holding his cam his phone up like this like literally with his hands okay or you could get one of those holders those you know selfie holders if you want to or you

can even get a stand if you really want to but he was reading off of a teleprompter if you can watch it again you'll see his eyes moving across the teleprompter so there's no reason you can't do that so you can literally just follow a script and it's super easy and there's no reason to make this a high production thing chase had one cut to a drone shot of the beach that he was on another and one where a related graph i think that was it but you don't even have to do that i've seen

these where they never move there's never a cut just shoot it raw okay the one thing i want you to do is get a 50 or 60 lavalier mic that is super important you can find those on amazon and you can get it shipped to you the next day that mic makes a massive difference in the quality of the audio i don't think chase was using a lavalier mic but i'm a big believer in audio being much more important than video quality when you're shooting something like this now number three i want you to shoot

this in a great setting if at all possible one of the best settings that we've tested over the past two or three years happens to be the setting that chase was in and that is a tropical setting now obviously not everyone can get down to miami or hawaii or some tropical setting to do that and you do not want to use a green screen with a fake tropical background that is awful and cheesy and that does not convey what you want to convey so here are some tips if you don't want to go on vacation

to shoot this first of all just simply go to a nice place you want to be in an environment that that your client wants to be in that your prospect wants to be in you want to feel like you want to shoot in an environment where they feel like they want to feel so obviously people that he's shooting a money-making kind of tool so they want to feel like they can go on vacation in a tropical place that makes total sense but there are some tricks to doing this one of them is shooting in your

home if it's really nice so shooting your home and and i prefer to use motion so i prefer to actually walk around slightly while i'm shooting so there's motion there and i'm not just sitting in a chair just a tip another one and this is cool is to go into a very nice hotel that is in your area preferably one that's modern or if you're going for an older audience and it's like a super traditional thing than one that's more traditional but a nice one because there's so many little cubby holes you can find in

hotel lobbies that you can go and you can shoot a 90 second video no one will bat an eye at that but it's a great way to get a fancy setting for nothing so i'm here to give you all these tips for nothing now the next step is to keep this short keep it around 90 seconds you don't need to blabber on and on and the script i'm going to give you next is going to make sure that you keep that around 90 seconds and finally i recommend that you do this without any hard cuts

unless you really have to have them in other words if you make a big mistake just cut the video hard and go right to that mistake he uses a slight music bed in the background test it with him without that you don't need it and like i said you don't need the drone shots or anything like that you can shoot the whole thing from your iphone if you want to or your smartphone and if you want to get a little more fancy you can but do not make this a high production thing otherwise it loses

a few variations i like it a lot so i'm going to break it down i highly recommend that you change the wording so i'm not giving you exact wording here this is not a script okay be sure to know this not a script either i think it's cool when you rip somebody off word for word but i'm just giving you the patterns that he's using and that other people are using and you can take those and own those yourself create your own words of course change a few things here and there and let's dive into

it right now you're going to start with what i call a special time in history like there's something going on right now in the world of blank whatever you're in that is special something that's unique and it's opening up new opportunities that's how you open the video and thanks to these new opportunities certain things have happened that will allow you to blink and what is that blank it's the primary goal of your prospect it's going to allow you to make more money online to start your own business online to create better copy in a with

a click of a button whatever it could be whatever it might be that's what you want to put there and you follow that with two benefits so he lets you make more money online while you enjoy blank and blank so you could say while you enjoy more time with your family and best of all it costs you less than 10 cents to start so benefit benefit just think of two quick benefits and then you want to ask the question because why well why is this happening because x okay why is this a special time in

history well the markets have changed or well there's this advent of this thing called digital blah blah blah whatever it may be this is where you want to think about a hook this is where you want to think about how what you're going to say what how you're going to label the special time in history you can label it or you can simply describe it and you want to keep this very brief here but you want to let someone know that something new is happening that has opened up some opportunities in the field that you're

in and you're going to prove that next by showing testimonials or if you don't have those screenshots describing testimonials and you want to say and this opening is allowing people like you're seeing on the screen to see all these amazing results so that's one way to do testimonials that's very cool you can just pop them up on the screen very very fast gives the image and the impression of wow this is really working and this is where i think the magic of this script comes in it's the word unconventional or counterintuitive i also use unusual

little-known even weird kind of works those words are what works here that some of these folks are using a counter-intuitive or a really weird new approach to blank whatever you are talking about that is allowing them to see these results and here's where you want to go to the financial gains if this is a financial thing or whatever the game may be it may be weight loss so in other words they're losing weight so let me give it with the example of weight loss i will say some folks are just seeing a few pounds the

few of the most stubborn pounds go away while other folks have used the same counterintuitive approach to lose 30 40 50 even 100 pounds so i give small results and then give big results next and one of the most important elements of this section of the video script is to call it a shortcut that is the thing that really does make it stand out so these folks are using a real bonafide shortcut a real life shortcut to get these results next you want to name that shortcut so i call the shortcut blank and in case

you're wondering that blank is what we would call a primary solution in copy pro you want to use your own wording here this is the hardest part of the script to come up with your unique name for this shortcut but it's super important that you do and then you say today i'm going to tell you all about that shortcut and how you can join the folks you just saw and take advantage of it yourself in just a few minutes so you're opening a loop right here into the video then you're going to introduce yourself my

name is john you can say john benson i personally like just john or first name so my name is first name okay and here's where you might think that you're going to go into like and i've seen so and so results from this but no this is what we're doing here hey my name is john and it should be pretty obvious to you that we're all facing some really tough times right now in the x industry whatever you're in and then you're going to list those things off like you know people are doing this or

this is happening to the world or this is really bad so you want to get some fear going on in here so we want to relate to the challenges that your prospect is facing because the next sentence reverses all of that right after that you go but that's reason to be optimistic and here's why those exact challenges have opened the doors to new possibilities and new ventures and has created massive opportunities specifically in the world of blank and that's your world your niche and next you want to tighten the screws a little bit because you're

going to say and what you do next will determine your future whether your future is really awesome or whether your future goes backwards because this opportunity is one that comes along once in a few decades and it's closing fast so there's your scarcity and how i like to in these videos is so is i say something like so let me show you about this little glitch in the matrix that's happening right now that's opened up all these opportunities and how you can take advantage of it and how you can benefit by benefit benefit benefit let's
