the PMI ACP exam is changing in 2024 Big Time November 7th is the last day you can take the current old exam and starting November 8th a whole new exam awaits hello I'm Cornelius fishner from PM examsimulator.com in this video I'll break down what's changing what it means for you if you're currently studying for the PMI ACP exam and I'll give you three crucial recommendations for your next steps towards certification but first here's some great news to support our students in this change we're offering all our PMI ACP prep products at a 50% discount all

updated exam content outline the information I'm sharing with you comes directly from the authorized training partner Resource Center on the PMI website well then what's actually changing the top three are the domain the training requirements and the experience requirements let's dive into the details first the exam domains the old exam is based on seven domains but the new exam will focus on four streamlined domains mindset leadership product and delivery here is my interpretation of what these four are about mindset emphasizes the agile mindset principles and values that underpin all agile methodologies it's about understanding the
why behind agile practices leadership is about leading agile teams effectively fostering collaboration and facilitating Team Dynamics think servant leadership product centers on delivering value through agile product development including stakeholder engagement and product backlog management and then finally delivery that covers the execution of agile projects continuous Improvement and delivering high quality results well we'll see how close I am with this interpretation once PMI publishes the new Eco second the training requirements are also changing for the old exam you needed 21 contact hours of agile training starting November 8th 2024 you will need 28 contact hours however
there is a grace period if you apply before March 31st 2025 then and under certain conditions you can still qualify with the 21 hours we need to wait for PMI to officially describe these conditions and third they up updated the experience requirements previously you needed 12 months of General project experience and 8 months of agile project experience but for the new exam you need 3 years of agile experience that goes down to 2 years if you have a thirdparty agile certification so for example I am a CSM a certified scrum Master most likely I would
only need 2 years is and then there are two things that remain the same first the cost of the exam is not changing so you won't have to pay more to take the new exam and second the exam format also Remains the Same it's still a 3our exam with 120 questions however the question types are changing PMI is a bit vague on this one but I think that this means that you don't just have multiple choice questions you know a b c d with one answer being correct you will also have multiple response where you
have a b CDE e and you have to select two that are correct there may even be some drag and drop question Styles as well as point and click question styles again we're waiting for PMI here so what does this mean for you if you are already St studing for the exam then do take it before November 7th in fact take it as soon as you can because there will be an absolutely mad rush toward the end that way you can sit for the exam in its current format which you're already studying for and avoid
any surprises with the new format but if you're just starting or thinking about starting then the choice is really yours do you still have enough time to complete your study studies before November 7th to take the old exam if not you'll have to take the new one and if you do decide to take the new exam make sure that you have 28 contact hours of training not just 21 plus familiarize yourself with the new domains mindset leadership product and delivery and understand the increased emphasis on those top topics also and unfortunately if you cannot take
the old exam then this may in fact mean that you have to wait longer to take it because you now need 3 years of agile experience or two if you have a CSM or a similar certificate all right next steps for you check your study plan can you get everything done before the change if yes do it if not confirm that you do meet all the updated requirements and plan to take the new exam for me I am keeping my eyes open for pmi's official announcements so that I can update this information here and keep
guiding you lastly don't forget to take advantage of my 50% discount on all PMI ACP prep products it's a great opportunity to get high quality training at half the cost until next time
