able to answer it so let's see how Frank responds well the question might be how do you know God directed you to do that right and there are a lot of things that go on in this world that all of us have all of us have certain orientations to things we ought not do according to God but yet we still do them that's why we live with a fallen nature right all of us have a fallen nature um should we expect that in this Fallen world that God would give us a nature that wasn't Fallen

no no so we're all struggling with sin that's why we need a savior because everyone you and me and everyone in this room needs the sacrifice that Christ provided regardless of what our feelings are regardless of which way we're directed based on nature or nurture and as you know there's a big debate over how much is is nature how much is nurture uh for all of our sexual orientations but are my feelings inherently wrong to have are feelings inherently wrong to have I don't think there's a way you can be blamed for having feelings look

I have feelings all day that I ought not act on and sometimes I fail but it's not the feelings that are the issue it's the action that flows from them actually though if you look at what Jesus said when when you look at Matthew Chapter 5 Jesus actually w ratchet is ratchets up the standard he says if you're just angry with your brother you're guilty well thanks Jesus I don't have a prayer of living up to that and I don't he says be perfect as your heavenly father is perfect I can't do that you can't

do that nobody in this room can do that who can do it only he can that's why we need him so we all have these struggles Sammy I have struggles you have struggles but for us to say that God's at fault for these struggles no God's not at fault for the struggles I don't believe that right you don't believe what I don't believe that he's at fault I think we all make mistakes but I don't think something so like something like love that's supposedly pure it can be pure in the way that a man loves

a woman or a man loves a man or a woman loves a woman who's to say that the way you love your wife is any different from the way I'm going to love someone in the future whether it be a man or a woman well it's not me to say anything because I'm not the moral Arbiter of the universe that's true right so I'm I I don't decide right and wrong this is why when people come to me and say well don't impose your morality on me like I said earlier I said this isn't my

morality I didn't make any of this up in fact there were things I wish were different but I'm not the general manager of the universe I'm not God so I guess back to your your question you'd have to Define exactly what you mean by love what does what does love mean can you care for somebody the same sex of course you can I do the question is should you go further than that into some sort of romantic relationship that's the question I think you should well okay you can take that you're it's a free country

but scripturally if you believe in the scriptures and if you believe in natural law Define natural law natural law is the idea that everybody intuitively understands moral right and wrong on the big issues that there's a natural design to us there's a natural design to the universe that we're intended to go in a a particular direction and that we know we're supposed to shun evil and we're supposed to seek the good so and you think that natural law was founded by like Christianity no no no no no no it existed long before Christianity that's why

for example Noah the entire generation of Noah was judged they didn't have any Scripture they didn't have any Bible but God expected them to know basic right and wrong because he had written it on their hearts so you don't need the Bible to know basic right and wrong everyone already knows it now we can suppress it we can reject it we can go our own way and all of us do on occasion but it's still there now I really feel for this woman here because it seems like she's really earnestly trying to figure this question

out and she's just using what she knows to try and reason with Frank here and she's not interrupting him she's listening to him she's critically thinking and responding to him but it seems like she's falling for some lies that the world tells us and I don't think that Frank did the best job of answering her followup question of why is some love bad but some love is good and so now we're going to expand a little bit on the concept of Love is love you don't need to be here right now you don't need to

be here right now all this is Love Is Love and we will love who we want to love you can go home cuz you don't need to be here typically people who use this phrase are just trying to make the point that all forms of Love are equally valid it doesn't matter who's involved what gender they are how they're expressing this love or what they're doing basically as long as someone's feeling valued uh there's happiness there and you're getting sexual gratification it doesn't matter what gender you are because love is love but that's not what

the Bible says about love CS Lewis points out there's four different kind of love that we see in the Bible the first one being stor which is affectionate love then there's felia which is friendship love AOS which is romance love and then Agape which is Charity charitable love and each kind of love is different as different applications for example I love chicken rice and beans and my love for my chicken rice and beans is going to be a lot different than how I express love or feel love for my best friend or how I love

my pet cats back at home I love them a lot differently than I love my fiance the type of love that God has for us is the Agape the charitable love which is the purest most self-sacrificial and unconditional form of love out there and so we see that there are different kinds of love but the type of Love That Gets implied in this love is love phraseology it's twists what love is because underneath the slogan in the idea is a lie and that lie is that we don't have a choice who we fall in love

with think about that phrase fall in love people didn't used to say that in the past they'd say I choose you I want you I choose to love you but now we say I'm falling in love with you I have fallen in love with you it almost makes it sound like an accident in the language that we're expressing there but this is not what love is it's not real love here it's just infatuation it's that butterflies in the tummy that that excitement you get when you feel like you have some sort of connection and I

get it it can be confusing because that feeling can come on very suddenly and it feels like it's not in our control but when we have these feelings they're usually to serve our own self interests if you really think about it and true love is not just a feeling it's a daily decision to put someone else's needs before your own and the Bible gives us a list of qualities of what love looks like it says love is patient and kind love does not envy or boast it is not arrogant or rude it does not insist

in its own way it is not irritable or resent it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth love bears all things believes all things hopes all things endures all things and none of these things can come about without a conscious effort and so biblical love it's work you're not always going to have those butterfly feelings or those fuzzy emotions when you're choosing to love somebody look at the example of Jesus he loved us so much that he was trying to make a way that we don't have to pay for the penalty of

our own sins and so for hours he was an excruciating pain on a Roman cross for punishment but even worse the wrath of God that was meant to be poured out on you me and all of us from all the past present and future was poured out onto Jesus in one moment when he finally defeated death on that cross and he went to hell for 3 days and lived in turmoil with the wrath of God God upon him and he did all this as an expression of his love for us to make a way out

for us and so that's a really high standard for what love looks like but it's a good glimpse of what true love is and the Bible says that God is love so he is the source of Love he's the one who created it and he's the only reason that we even have an idea of what love is but when we replace the phrase God is love with love is love we take true love out of the equation God's true definition of love and we insert our own false understanding of love that comes from the world

it might be partly true but even if if even one lie gets in there it leavens the whole bunch if there's mold in one part of the bread loaf you better not eat any slice of that bread because it is all gone arai so when we're chasing that emotional rush and elevating it to a level of the ultimate meaning of life that happiness and that feeling we see what comes about we have high Force rates right now look at what's happening with hookup culture all the drug use worldwide the unnatural relationships that are taking place

and if we replace god with an idol of a man-made definition of love it can lead to some pretty extreme consequences for example do we accept the kind of love that exploits children or animals for sexual gratification I'm not trying to pit the other things right next to this but this is The Logical conclusion that can stem about from this sort of idea and you know Christians were called to love our neighbor as ourselves and so if I believed a lie personally I'd want to be told the truth even if it kind of hurts me

and so if you're believing the lie that homosexual romance is pure love it's not it's a dishonorable passion and it's just going to hurt you and hurt other people there's a passage in the Bible that sums this up really nicely for the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all godliness and unrighteousness of men who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth for what can be known about God is plain to them because God has shown it to them for his invisible attributes namely his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly perceived ever since

the creation of the world in the things that have been made so they are without excuse for although they knew God they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him but they became futile in their thinking and their foolish Hearts were darkened claiming to be wise they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things therefore God gave them up in the lust of their hearts to impurity to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves because they exchanged the truth

about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator who is blessed forever amen for this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions forther women exchang natural relations with those that are contrary in nature and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another men committing Shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error and I know this is a lot and I'm not trying to condemn anyone here but I just don't want you to fall into
