Amazon KDP is changing and if you're thinking of starting KDP in 2024 there are a few things that you must keep in mind the truth is it has never been a better time to start this business than right now but the way you should approach this business has drastically changed from a few years ago so the advices that you may have heard from others in the past may not work as someone who's been doing Amazon KDP for years started with zero and achieved a 7 figure status all thanks to this business I basically Seen It
All I've met thousands of Publishers over the years many of them extremely successful even more than me so in this video I'll try and distill everything that these successful Publishers do and share it with you so that you can build an incredibly profitable KDP business yourself the first lesson is to change the mindset from skepticism to proactive initiation I understand that nowadays there are a ton of options out there in terms of different businesses you can build and you're constantly bombarded with videos about the next best side houso to start with so many options how
do we know that Amazon KDP is true truly the right option for you now I'm not going to sugarcoat this and tell you that KDP is the best business for every single person out there for some of you it might not be the best fit so here are a few questions for you to determine if this business is the right fit for you do you hate working with demanding clients with an agency business or freelancing you're going to have to work with clients you're going to have to send a ton of cold emails and DMS
just to get them as a client then once you do so it's going to be a nightmare to keep them it's a constant treadmil blue losing a client than looking for another on top of all this they're often very demanding and expect you to work on something immediately when they ask for it if you prefer a business where you're not answering to anyone and can work on your own time then KDP might be for you question number two do you want a beginner friendly business model compared to other businesses KDP is extremely beginner friendly the
reason why is because of the nature of this business because we're selling digital products and print on demand products we don't have to store inventory or deal with with manufacturing on top of this Amazon handles a shipping refunds and customer service for you that's five of the biggest headaches in normal businesses just gone this is why it's extremely beginner friendly because with other business models you have to learn and do all that with KDP you don't have to question number three Do you want to build passive income that can fund your retirement KDP is not
just an online business where you can make money it's a unique hybrid business model where it acts as a cash generating business as well as a long-term investment we publish books on Amazon where millions of people go to shop every single day once we publish our books there it stays there for life until Amazon shuts down which we know that's probably not going to happen if anything Amazon will keep growing and continue to gain market share we're publishing our books and securing our position to capitalize on this for years to come I often compare our
books to digital real estate once you publish it it stays on Amazon forever and it keeps collecting passive royalty checks every single month there are no other other businesses out there that is this lowcost low time investment and beginner friendly to start while being able to build long-term passive income and leave a positive impact to your customers as well as building your legacy so if you said yes to all three of these questions then KDP is the best business for you so now what you must do is to stop with the mindset of oh I'm
just going to test it out for a month and see how it goes and if it doesn't work I'll try something else because now you know that this is the best option for you you the thing is KDP is not a garish quick scheme it's a legit business and a legit business takes time those who seek immediate results after a month or two always gets discouraged if they don't see them you usually start seeing some results after a few months and real results after a year I hit $1,000 in a month after 3 months of
doing this then I was able to grow that to 10K per month in 10 months some people do it faster and some do it longer but if you can stick to it and go all in for a year I can almost guarantee your life will absolutely change trust me on this a few years later I was able to sell the same KDP business for $820,000 I literally went from a broke kid in his 20s to a millionaire by age 26 all thanks to KDP not from YouTube or selling courses okay I only started selling courses
after I hit seven figures with Amazon KDP so this business is real all right lesson number two is to model success if you want success you should do what a successful person does if you want to build a 10K per month KDP brand then you should model and do what other 10K per month brands are doing for example if you want to build a successful activity books for adults brand then you should look at a brand like kite Fox publishing and see what they're doing because they're extremely successful they're literally making over $56,000 a month
or if you want to build a successful children's book brand then you should look at someone like Alicia ortego she's doing over $37,000 a month in revenue and is extremely successful when analyzing a book use spy tools like DS Amazon quick viw or book beam that easily shows you the BSR of the book BSR is the best sellers Rank and it's basically how well the book is selling compared to other books the lower this number the better so once I find a successful book I usually try and see how much it's making you can do
this for free but I'm going to use a spy tool called book beam it shows me how much this book is making here which is between $400 to $700 in royalties every single day and it also gives me data on the sales history here which is important so you know if the book has consistent sales over the year as an example this book right here is doing really well at $37 in royalties every single day so that is about $11,000 a month with only 11 reviews which means that if I try and make a book
on this topic I shouldn't need much reviews to sell as well and since I see there other books on their author page that gives me ideas on future books to model too then you can start analyzing and studying what they do for their book covers their titles A+ content and you can do this process from multiple successful books so you're not just ripping off one take the best parts from multiple books combine it into one so you have a book that has the best parts of all your competitors lesson three is to focus on inputs
rather than the results building a business takes time and if you start Amazon KDP with the goal of making 10K a month and that's the only metric that you focus on then what happens after month four when you're not making that you will get discouraged and quit the thing is with so many get-rich Quick videos going around online people's expectations of how long it actually takes to make money online is wildly inaccurate instead of focusing on a dollar amount focus on inputs which is how much you put into the business because that is something you
can actually control as an example if you see all of these successful Publishers that makes 10K a month or more have an average of 20 books then your goal should be to publish 20 high quality books not hitting 10K a month but by doing the inputs which is to put in the work and Publishing more books the outputs will follow which is the 10K a month goal or more 20 books is just an example so don't quote me on it but unless you're doing something like very low content books like journals and planners an average
of $500 a month per book is actually a pretty realistic goal what you want to make sure is that you don't just Spam lowquality books focus on making each book actually good so with this all in mind how do you know that if you create the same amount of books as other successful Publishers you will get the same results well the answer is you don't nothing is guaranteed and sorry to break it to you but putting in work without knowing if it's actually going to work is part of business but if you find other books
that are selling well you analyzed it you took what they do best and applied it into your book and made something that is just as good if not better then there's no reason why it shouldn't work when it comes to building an Amazon KDP business it's all about being consistent and doing the few key things over and over as I mentioned earlier this business is very simple compared to others there really isn't much to do it really comes down to one publish more books two Market those books and three build your audience and you repeat
this process over and over and over until you're happy with how much money you're making so it's not really about how smart you are it's really about how consistent you are in doing these key tasks over a long period of time now this was great for me because I'm not that smart I didn't have any particular skills right English was not even my first language and all the businesses that I've tried in the past I've failed at but one thing that I'm good at is showing up every day and doing the work I never quit
until I succeed so if you're like me and can perform the few things over and over you will do well and it doesn't have to take much time too you can build this with just 30 minutes to an hour a day which leads me to lesson number four pay attention to the Paro principle the Paro principle also known as the 8020 rule is a concept where 80% of the results come from 20% of the activity and the opposite is true as well that 20% of the results comes from 80% of the activity so if you
can just do 20% of the work that brings in 80% of results obviously that's what you should do right well the problem is most people focus on the 80 % of activities that brings in 20% of results let me explain I told you already that you can build this business with just 30 minutes to an hour a day even less if you're efficient and know what you're doing and I also told you that the three key things you have to do is publish more books Market those books and build your audience that is the 20%
of the activity that brings in 80% of the results and if you just focus on that you can build a successful KDP business with less than an hour a day the problem is most people spend all their precious working hours scrolling through social media going through emails watching videos or other things that feels good to do but won't make you any money you might be engaging in Facebook groups related to KDP maybe you're sorting through emails so you won't get distracted later maybe you're trying to learn more about KDP before you actually take action and
you think you're progressing because you're learning a lot but the issue is learning and consuming content will never make you any money no matter how much videos you watch books you read Facebook groups groups you engage in if you never take action you'll never make money there are two types of people in business consumers and producers when you consume videos books emails social media you will not make money but if you produce books emails social media posts you make money producers make money consumers don't so your goal is to move from being a consumer to
a producer as fast as possible now I get that in the beginning you have to learn so you're most likely going to be 90% consuming learning and 10% doing and applying what you learn and that's completely fine but the problem is most people get stuck here forever why because they're afraid of actually taking action because consuming content is easy it's comfortable you're not risking anything but actually going out and applying what you learn now you're risking things you're risking your time your money even your confidence and your ego that you actually got what it takes
and because people are so scared of taking action they go back to being a consumer staying in the safe Zone this happens because you view failure as a bad thing you think if you fail maybe your friends or family would judge you maybe you would judge yourself because you fear failure you try to avoid that by staying in the comfort zone Forever Learning and consuming content instead of trying to avoid failure you should be trying to fail as fast as you can because that's when you learn the most failure is not failure it's just a
Learning lesson by failing faster you get to learn what doesn't work change your approach and get to success faster so failure is actually a good thing and now that you know that you can stop fearing taking action and start doing more of the 20% of activities that brings in 80% of results so the final lesson is to leverage systems to scale in order to strategically grow this business with consistent results you must learn to build systems the faster you can publish more books Market it and build your audience the more your income grows the beauty
of KDP is that you can start with little to no cost but that doesn't mean you should keep doing everything yourself with free tools if you want to scale your business to 10K a month or more as you start making money from your books it's important that you reinvest the profits back into the business such as by hiring writers to write the book for you thus saving you more time or hiring cover designers to design book covers for you for example I didn't start off with this but once I started making money I reinvested into
getting additional tools like book beam that helps me save a ton of time in the keyword research process and make more money I did the same thing with hiring a team of Ghost Riders cover design book formatters and a personal virtual assistant that handles miscellaneous task for me by creating a system like this it takes very little time to maintain or even keep growing your KDP business myself as well as tons of other successful KDP Publishers that I personally know makes tens of thousands of dollars a month and barely works maybe 1 to two hours
a day because we built a system that works without us this is how you can make Amazon KDP truly a passive income generating machine the first task you should hire someone for is book covered design as your book cover is the number one factor that will determine if your book will sell or not after that I recommend you consider Outsourcing various tasks in your business such as the writing illustrations formatting depending on what you enjoy doing and what you're good at if you want to learn more about exactly how to do this then check out
