I talk about Fitness a lot obviously because I'm a Fitness and Nutrition coach but I also advocate for it so strongly because I've seen firsthand the kind of effects that it can have on your life not just on how you feel and how long you live but I've also seen its effects on the opportunities that you get how people treat you and how confident you feel being in shape is a cheat code in many ways in fact my previous YouTube video was based on this but here is a mistake that a lot of young men
end up making they take this one pillar of their life their Fitness and they make it their entire personality now don't get me wrong if you go from being out of shape to being in great shape then it's a massive change you feel confident you feel stronger people treat you differently everything about your life improves and overall it feels great and it's very easy to latch on to that and almost make it your entire personality because up until that point it is the strongest quality that you have and at first it's probably going to work
very well for you especially if you're in the age range of like 16 to 22 because at that point in time being in shape gives you asymmetrical returns and let's be honest at that age most people don't expect a lot of things out of you so even if you're bringing nothing else to the table but you're just lean and you have a little more muscle mass than the average person your life improves drastically your dating opportunities social life um how you feel and just the kind of attention that you get it seems to improve disproportionately
but that's also where the problem begins because you can't reap these benefits out of Being Fit for the rest of your life eventually you're going to have to be more and bring more to the table but a lot of people also don't recognize that so they make Being Fit and going to the gym counting their macros or whatever their entire personality and they don't bring anything else to the table apart from how much they bench their conversations suck they have no depth as people they have no humor they have no insights they have nothing to
add to to any meaningful discussion but every interesting thing that they have will eventually Circle back to how much they lift remember this right if it's all that you have after a certain threshold it's going to turn into a liability actually you know what you've probably seen this yourself so you tell me you walk into a room there's someone there who's visibly fit and they dress the part too you look at them you admire them for a second but you go back to doing what you were doing anyway once you actually end up having a
conversation with this person isn't it a massive disappointment when they have nothing more to add in your head till like 10 seconds ago you sort of respected them because they carried themselves well but now once you actually have a conversation with them you realize that they're nothing but an empty box and when you see such a person stagnating in their life you don't even have to wonder why like it's it's evident they never developed anything about themselves beyond the gym as adults it's probably going to be the first real feedback loop that gives you results
based on the amount of effort that you put in without any sort of disparity if you try hard and try consistently you will not fail and that's not something that you can say with a lot of certainty in other parts of your life it almost teaches you to put in more efforts to get more payout no shortcuts no nothing and once you learn that lesson and you also learn other things like consistency delaying gratification being honest with yourself and whatnot you can carry this over to other parts of your life but it's your responsibility to
make sure that you just treat it like a non-negotiable like a foundation for everything else you've built the foundation you still have to build everything else in some sense I want you to think of Fitness as as a cardboard box for a lack of better words you want the box to be strong you want it to be wellb built you want it to look good but the Box by itself is going to be useless unless you fill it up with something valuable so if your physical fitness is this box then everything else that goes inside
of it personality insights skills Network Etc all of those things become the diamonds and jewels that you're about to fill this box up with so in essence you want a combination of the two you want a box that's strong that also looks presentable which is how it's going to get its foot in the door but you also want to fill it up with enough valuable things so that it doesn't turn out to be a disappointment so if you're someone who's been overly focused on Fitness to the point where it's all you talk about it's time
to expand here's what I'll suggest number one develop your social skills start paying attention to how you talk how you listen and how you interact with people learn to carry out conversations that have nothing to do with working out the goal is that you should be able to have a meaningful conversation with someone who has nothing to do with what your main areas of Interest are this is going to help you long-term more than anything else that you'll ever do trust me number two have hobbies that don't involve lifting pretty self explanatory but if you
want to expand what you're good at you just have to do more things and doing more things also has a side benefit of connecting you to really interesting people and in pursuit of your fitness journey you've also built a bunch of skills you might as well find an outlet for them these Hobbies could range from learning how to play an instrument learning a language to basically anything that might involve a group activity I'm a little biased in this regard so I'm going to ask you to try and Chase a sport if you can number three
build a carer edge your physique might get you noticed but it's not going to get you promoted learn something that makes you indispensable at work there's a very interesting thing about learning distinct skills in a lot of cases you can stack them on top of each other let's say you know three different things you know something about nutrition you know how to talk in front of a camera and you also know how to do basic editing you could stack these three skills on top of each other and that could be the start of a Content
creation Journey for example basically the more you have access to relevant skills the more you can stack them on top of each other remember this right Fitness is supposed to be the foundation it's meant to be a stepping stone and not the destination itself if you do it right it's going to help you learn consistency discipline and even make you more confident as a person but if you stop there then all it makes you is a box strong from the outside pretty much empty and worthless on the inside and as someone who deals with people
who have something or the other to do with Fitness given my industry I can tell you people notice when you have nothing more underneath that's it for this video I just want to take a moment to thank you all for the support that I've gotten over over the past few weeks this channel is honestly doing a lot better than I expected it would but again thank you if you found this video remotely helpful I would appreciate you sharing this with a friend because the channel is Young and every time you share it with a friend
it's going to help me grow I appreciate you and I'll see you in the next and
