the throne used by Satan currently kept in a German Museum a book describing the prophetic dreams of the Nephilim plus a disturbing gospel you won't believe exists these are some of the craziest band biblical books ever The Book of Giants if you're familiar with the Book of Enoch you're going to love what I have to say about the Book of Giants it's very similar to The Book of Enoch but likely predates it only a few fragments of this ancient text remain written in Aramaic copy were found among the Dead Sea Scrolls dating back 2200 years
Christians call it fiction The Book of Giants is considered pseudo pigal meaning it isn't in any way recognized as a true religious text the book is not seen as being inspired by God except for in manism more on that coming up you're probably on the edge of your seat so let's dig into the meat of the book it takes place in anti deluvian times prior to the biblical flood the book is full of amazing char character including Enoch himself it also follows the lives of several Giants making it a very unique piece of literature whereas
the official Bible only touches briefly on the Nephilim The Book of Giants follows their activities but at which point do things become too fanciful for people to believe people believe in angels and demons the devil and the Nephilim but only when they're mentioned in passing the Book of Giants give so much backstory for the Nephilim that it starts to sound like a fantasy book that's likely why the church Church cut it from the cannon in the Book of Giants a bit of the Book of Enoch repeats itself a group of angelic beings known as The
Watchmen descended to Earth at which point they bred with human women to create Abominations called Nephilim but with the introduction over the book goes into much more explicit detail according to the book the Nephilim W monsters they slaughtered humans destroyed plant life poisoned disease and mistreated animals one of the Giants named Mahaw began to suffer horrible visions of the future long before the actual flood happened Maha prophesied it in his dreams fearing what could happen Mah sought Enoch's counsel Enoch told the Giants that he needed to repent Enoch also reached out to The Watcher seaha
one of the Angels who took a human wife he told seazer to repent because Archangel Raphael had started to notice the misdeeds on Earth nobody would repent Enoch told them explicitly that they had one more chance to change their ways the Giants refused and so did the Watchers the rest is history God flooded the world to get rid of the wicked like I said at the beginning people don't believe this book to be the truth of God but the manism religion did accept it as canonical scripture manism was founded a few centuries after Christ it
was a blend of Christianity and Zoroastrianism they believed the universe was home to two competing forces of Good and Evil they were seen as a heretical branch of gnosticism and were open to all the weirder biblical books that the Catholics tried to get rid of the Book of Revelation and the Throne of Satan in the Book of Revelation 2:13 it says I know where you live where Satan has his throne yet you remain true to my name you did not renounce your faith in me not even in the days of Antipas my faithful witness who
was put to death in your city where Satan lives the passage makes it seem like Satan lived in an actual city on earth and had a real throne that he sat in how would you feel if I told you that very Throne is currently in the pergamin museum in Berlin Germany it's called the Great altar of pergamin but many biblical Scholars think it was Satan's physical Throne as described by the prophet John in Revelations pergamin is an ancient city whose ruins are currently perched at top a mountain on the Turkish Coast the city overlooks the
shining aan sea though not much of it remains standing pergamin has been dismantled and destroyed over the years yet during the days of Christ pergam rivaled the greatest cities of the world like Alexandria and Antioch it was home to scientists its economy was booming and Satan ruled the great altar of pergamin is considered one of the most incredible surviving structures from the Greco Roman World it truly looks like a humongous Throne fit for a god even an evil one some archaeologists believe it belonged to the Temple of Zeus though that's never been confirmed let's take
a look at what John of Patmos the author of the book of Revelation had to say about it in Revelation John conveyed a message from the Risen Christ to Seven Christian congregations in what is now turkey in the message Christ wanted to praise the faithful for maintaining their belief in him even while living among Satan the real life Satan maybe Satan was a king perhaps the author of Revelation viewed him as a living breathing man at the end of the first century ad Antipas Bishop of pergamon was martyred in the city pergamon was to early
Christians a place of great evil I wanted to give a big thank you to yay publishing and lack of riml veral 9267 for supporting this channel be sure to subscribe if you haven't already for more videos like these the missing books of the Protestant Bible did you know the Protestant Bible has seven missing books in it in the 16th century when Martin Luther led the Protestant Reformation the church split and fractured the Protestants wanted to return to what they believed was the original Bible which they said the Catholics had altered over the last two Millennia
Martin Luther claimed the books had less historical accuracy than the rest of scripture he didn't believe them to be divinely inspired so Martin Luther removed what are now known as the dutter a canonical books the books include Tobit Judith first and second mcabe wisdom of Solomon sarak and baruk they are still in Catholic Bibles just not in Protestant Bibles this leads to a really important question who decided what book books are the divinely inspired word of God and which are not that would be the Council of Rome in 382 ad the council came up with
the first official list of canonical scripture many of these books were written in Greek and had been part of the septo agent this was a collection of Old Testament Stories the oldest known Greek translation of the original Hebrew Bible it was from the septu agent that the authors of the New Testament copied their material they used it as a template this stuff can get crazy confused using I'm going to tell you a little more about the septu agent before moving on to a certain Pope Legend ha it the septu agent was written at the request
of Pharaoh toy II philadelphus of Egypt in the 3r century BC he was the son of Alexander the Great's General Tommy making him the ancestor of Cleopatra I won't get into Bloodlines but this guy was important Tommy II is said to have hired 72 Hebrew translators six from each of the 12 tribes of Israel this was how the septo agent was made then 600 years later Pope damasus the first presided over the Council of Rome he had the final say over which books made it into the Vulgate Bible this was a key moment in history
the Bible was fixed for the next Millennia it didn't change until the Protestants removed their seven books this book terrified Hitler there is one book from the Bible that scared Hitler more than any other book it was so frightening to Hitler and the Nazis that they banned it the book book that struck fear Into the Heart of Adolf Hitler was the Book of Esther it's one of the more intriguing books in the Old Testament because God isn't mentioned anywhere in it not one time does God appear in the narrative if it doesn't have God's name
in it what in the world is the book about it tells a story set 100 years after the Babylonians exiled the israels from their land a few Jews had returned to Jerusalem by this time but many had not a lot were living in the Persian Empire the Book of Esther focuses on a community of Jews in the capital city of Souza Circa the 4th Century BC the two main characters are morai and his niece Esther the villain in the story is hmon an evil Persian official The Story begins with the Persian king throwing a great
party that lasted 187 days on the final day of the feast drunk the king demands his wife vashy show her beauty to the guests she refuses so the king holds a beauty pageant to find a more agreeable Queen this is where Esther comes in hiding the fact that she's a Jew she presents herself as a Persian and wins the beauty pageant then she becomes the new Queen of Persia later on in the story hmon appears he is an agagite a descendant of the ancient Canaanites the Persian king promotes hmon to the highest official position possible
he eventually finds out that morai is Jewish and persuades the King to kill all the Jews but the King still doesn't know that his wife the queen is also Jewish and related to morai there's a lot of treachery and and some cunning trickery Esther manages to have hmon impaled on a stake by informing the king that she is in fact Jewish and that hmon was trying to have her killed then she organizes an uprising the Jewish people in Souza rise against their Persian persecutors and destroy all those who plotted against them in essence the story
is all about a man in power who tried to obliterate the Jews only to have the Jews rise up and obliterate him you can undoubtedly see why Hitler was so uncomfortable with the story as early as 1935 people were comparing Hitler to hmon in the biblical Tale the Proto evangelium of James the Proto evangelium of James is what's known as an infancy gospel can you guess why that's right because it talks about Jesus as a baby forget Christ's Ministry this book tells the riveting story of what Jesus was doing when he was in diapers not
just that but the book goes into the specific details behind the miraculous conception of the Virgin Mary it talks about how Jesus's mom was brought up in the world it even talks about how she married Joseph detailing the couple's journey to Bethlehem but is the book real and does the church accept it as a legit piece of Holy Scripture the answer to the first part is yes and to the second part is no it is a real book that was in circulation as early as 150 ad there are a handful of copies left but in
405 ad Pope Innocent the first condemned the book as blasphemy innocent could reject it all he wanted there wasn't much the pope could do to stop the book from circulating around the year 500 the gayian decree which listed the official biblical Cannon as ordered by the Council of Rome rejected it also but the common people loved this book The Proto evangelium of James became hugely influential the author of the book is said to be James Jesus's very own brother not his blood brother but his stepbrother James was the son of Joseph who had married a
woman before Mary I think what people really enjoyed about the book book 1500 years ago was its descriptive narrative reading the book it feels a lot more like reading a coherent story let me explain the book presents Mary as an extraordinary child born to wealthy parents she was born in the seventh month of her mother's pregnancy emphasizing her uniqueness Mary's mother Anna dedicated her child to God when Mary was 3 years old Anna sent her to the Jewish temple where she was fed each day by an Angel not everyone is lucky enough to have an
angel As a caretaker tragedy struck when Mary approached her 12th year the Jewish priest didn't want her in the temple any longer because her menstral blood would make it unclean so God put Mary 12 years old under the protection of Joseph Joseph was a grown man who recently lost his wife it sounds creepy but Joseph had no interest in an intimate relationship with Mary he merely wanted to be her guardian it was shortly after Mary left the temple with Joseph that the Archangel Gabriel appeared to her the angel informed Mary that that she was to
conceive Jesus the son of God the gospel continues the story all the way through Christ's birth to the visit of the three magi the massacre in Bethlehem and the martyrdom of John the Baptist's father Zachariah there's even an epilog at the back describing the circumstances in which the book was written James's gospel was the first book that gave a name to Mary's mother but why is it so controversial because it's not official Cannon it's considered by the church to be a sort of biblical expansion pack it was one of hundreds of books written by Scholars
who wanted to add context and backstory to the accepted Bible the horrifying slave Bible one of the rarest and most disturbing Bibles ever was recently put on display at the Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C it's known as a slave Bible an instrument of Terror that was used by British missionaries to control and manipulate slaves only three copies of this Bible exist the one put on display in Washington is the only copy known in the United States of America Anthony Schmidt a curator at the Museum and an expert in religion said this Bible was
published in 1807 it contains bits and pieces of the Holy Bible but was tailored specifically for African slaves in the British West Indies known today as the Caribbean you've already learned today that the Bible has changed and is indeed constantly changing depending on interpretations certain books are removed certain books are added but the slave Bible takes this manipulation to a whole other the level the book wasn't just altered a little bit it was completely changed left in a state that people familiar with the Bible wouldn't be able to recognize Anthony Schmidt said about 90% of
the Old Testament was removed and about 50% of the New Testament books like genesis were act all together but what was the purpose even the Protestant Bible with seven books gone has 1189 chapters the slave Bible only has 232 there are a few theories none of them flattering to human beings most experts agree that farmers in the West Indies were not excited about Christian missionaries missionaries get a bad rap but they did often work with enslaved Africans at plantations maybe they were misguided and maybe they were a little immoral but the missionaries did try to
educate enslaved people much of this education centered around the Bible plantation owners hated this because of certain biblical stories they didn't want slaves reading about how Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt where they themselves had been slaves plantation owners viewed the Bible as bad for business slaves might be inspired to Rebel as the Israelites had in the Bible the plantation owners couldn't stop the missionaries from educating the Africans after all they presented themselves as perfectly good Christians so they thought up a scheme to change the Bible anything involving rebellion was taken out while passages
that could be considered pro-slavery were left inside for example this passage from Ephesians 6:5 servants be obedient to them that are your Masters according to the flesh with fear and trembling in singleness of your heart as unto Christ these were the messages left inside Bibles designed to brainwash slaves into thinking Jesus wanted them to be slaves the dark Realms of the Apocalypse of Peter 2,000 years ago people were just as obsessed with the apocalypse as we are today there's no better example of this Grim Obsession than the band biblical book called The Apocalypse of Peter
also sometimes called the revelation of Peter it was a hugely popular piece of apocalyptic literature in the 2nd Century ad but then it was lost completely forgotten by Humanity for 1500 years the author of this apocalyptic book claims to have been Peter himself Peter as in Jesus's disciple and the first pope in history however Scholars think it was written by somebody claiming to be Peter about 100 years after Peter's death the book presents itself as a vision that was given to Peter by Jesus Peter witnessed heaven then hell in the book there are graphic and
often disturbing descriptions of both places this is especially true when Peter is describing hell going into the nitty-gritty about the different punishments and tortures being enacted upon the Sinners the fact that this book was so popular really makes you wonder about human nature why are people so obsessed with things that are gross and gory Peter described Blas asers being hung by their tongues like being hung normally isn't bad enough already some people were dumped into a lake of fire women who dressed too seductively were hung by their hair over a bubbling hot swamp the men
who would be intimate with those scantly dressed women were hung by their feet over the same horrible swamp that's not all those who dared murder were let loose into a pit of poisonous snakes as the snakes bit the murderers and they wried from the Venom the spirits of the people they killed stood by and watched women who aborted their babies were forced to sit in filth and trash up to their necks while their aborted fetuses shot fire out of their eyes to Smite them can you believe this was written almost 2,000 years ago I'll keep
going surely it can't get any worse right Peter said that he witnessed persecutors of the righteous be cast Into Darkness beaten by spirits and then eaten by actual worms those who gave false witness were forced to GW on their tongues while their mouths filled with blame and finally those who would lay with members of their own sex were thrown off a cliff then they had to climb the cliff to be thrown off it again there was also a description of Heaven in the apocalypse if you'd like to hear it Jesus showed Peter a glimpse of
those who had passed into the next World Peter saw people with bodies white as snow and with flowers interwoven into their hair resembling a rainbow he saw the Earth blooming with fruits and spices people wore clothes that were made of light looking like Angels everywhere with was song and celebration what do you think sounds more pleasant Peter's vision of heaven or hell would you rather live in an everlasting Paradise or be hung by your tongue there's a bit more to the book Peter was given a vision of the end of times Jesus warned that a
false prophet will come to command the wild beasts and the birds of prey those who had been killed will rise to face the wrath of God and in the end Christ will be enthroned in glory and all the nations of the earth will repent their sins The Apocalypse of Peter was so widespread in the 2nd Century people considered it Holy Scripture it was more accepted as scripture than the Book of Revelation even though the Book of Revelation was the one that made it into the Final Cut of the Bible the disturbing gospels of the Blasphemous
bber writes the bber writes were the keepers of the Sacred texts one of those texts is so seriously disturbing that I'm not even sure I should be telling you about it in the early days of Christianity the borit were one of the most important Gnostic sects they were considered blasphemers and heathens by the Christians because they considered themselves Libertines that's a fancy way of saying the borit Embraced all the pleasures the Earthly world had to offer instead of treating pleasure as Sin they basked in it the sacred books of the bites included the gospel of
Eve The Apocalypse of Adam and the gospel of perfection they also had a huge portion of their literature focused on Mary Magdalene she was a goddess to these people they had holy books like the question questions of Mary the greater questions of Mary and you guessed it the Lesser questions of Mary and let's not forget the birth of Mary of all the Gnostic groups none were despised quite as much as the borit although they did use some pieces out of the Bible they outright renounce the god of the Old Testament they said he was an
impostor deity nothing more than a false idol they taught a lot of unusual things that would make people uncomfortable even today the borit believed there were eight heavens each one ruled by an archon gnostics believed that archons were Supreme Beings who had created all of the physical Universe each one was related to one of the planets the archons prevented Souls from escaping the material realm they also believed plants and animals had Souls unfortunately things are about to get really weird like really really weird the borit were obsessed with bodly fluid and I mean all bodily
fluids in a perverse version of the Eucharist borit would smear themselves with menstrual blood they did some other stuff with it too that I honestly can't even say out loud so I'll leave it to your imagination and they had weird sexual rituals if a woman became pregnant during one of the rituals they would later extract and consume the fetus these people were unborn baby eating cannibals I didn't even know that was a thing and I'm kind of sorry I know it now I told you earlier about a text so disturbing that I shouldn't even be
telling you about it that text is the greater questions of Mary a book that by no means would ever find its way into the Bible within the pages of the book is a story about Jesus taking Mary Magdalene by the hand to the top of a mountain when they got to the top of the mountain they didn't sit down to have a scenic picnic Jesus magically pulled a random woman from his side like a kangaroo might pull a baby out of its pouch then while Mary Magdalene watched Jesus and the mystery woman got a little
personal who would have thought Jesus was a freaky voice apparently the borit did the heresy of Judas one of the most shocking gospels ever written though I admit it's got nothing on the barlite texts is the Gospel of Judas reading this ancient book is enough to change the way you view Christianity the early leaders of the church understood how diverse the people of Europe were there were so many Christian groups in the first 200 years after Christ's death that it was starting to become a problem you've already learned of some of the more disturbing nost
groups and you've learned about the circulating apocalyptic literature there were too many books and too many groups with Christianity split into dozens of factions this was one of the big reasons a singular Bible needed to be created it only took a couple centuries for church leaders to agree on which texts could best unite their followers one of the texts that didn't make it is the Gospel of Judas the gospel even today would completely undermine the ideals behind the church it was written by an unknown author Au around the year 150 its message was so barbaric
that the church deemed it heretical there's only one surviving copy and it's not even original it's a copy of a copy written down in the 4th Century ad found in Egypt in the 1970s it was discovered buried in a cave the Gospel of Judas was translated into English for the National Geographic Society in 2006 it was a tough job but Marvin Meyer and F goodard managed to pull it off what they found was shocking the gospel describes Judas as a hero rather than betraying Jesus he was Jesus's favorite and most trustworthy disciple he betrayed Christ
only because Christ asked him to for thousands of years Christians have painted Judas as the absolute epitome of evil he was motivated by greed and the Devil Himself but this gospel changes everything Judas was one of Jesus Christ's closest friends the gospel claims Jesus revealed the deepest Mysteries of the UN ierse to Judas and Judas alone but is this true can a few lines of text written nearly 2,000 years ago change how Christians view Judas there's one other major difference in judas's story in this particular gospel you're going to want to hear about the official
Bible claims that after Judas betrayed Jesus he felt so ashamed that he returned to 30 pieces of silver and then died by hanging he was left hanging on the rope for so long that when his body fell from the tree he exploded like a water balloon full of guts how's that for a gross image but in the Gospel of Judas he dies in a completely different way the book claims the disciples were so angry that Judas betrayed Jesus they themselves killed him the other disciples couldn't understand the intricacies of Christ's master plan the other 11
disciples formed an angry mob and killed Judas by throwing rocks at him this would make Judas the first Christian martyr St Paul's lost Bible this seemingly ordinary Red House in the city of tasus turkey was the location of one of the weirdest excavations that ever took place trucks excavators and workmen suddenly flooded the property of this small house in the middle of the night there were armed guards protecting the workers nobody was allowed to enter the neighbors had no idea what was going on the excavation lasted for about a year being shrouded in the utmost
secrecy then when they were finished they left nobody knows what they found what they were looking for or who was even behind the operation but there is a theory it involves the Vatican and one very special book The Unexplained excavation happened in a suburb of Tarsus a city that happens to have been occupied for the last 10,000 years the little red house I showed you a minute ago isn't far from the ruins of Donas where a Mithra Temple stood in the 2nd Century BC tarus is also famous for being the birthplace of St Paul in
2008 Pope Benedict the 16th and a group of Vatican official visited Tarsus to celebrate St Paul's life he was The Unofficial 13th Apostle regarded as one of the most important men in the history of Christianity St Paul dedicated his life to spreading the teachings of Christ he also made major contributions to the New Testament shaping the very foundations of the church he's believed to have written 14 out of the 27 books in the New Testament suffice it to say Paul was a big deal Legend has it that Paul combined his writings with with the gospels
written by Matthew Mark Luke and John into the first real version of the New Testament St Paul's Bible as it's known today is an artifact of profound importance it's the original work the very first Bible that could not in any way be debated but what would it say how much would Paul's handwritten Bible differ from the Bible in circulation now the Vatican might know exactly what the book says it's possible the Vatican was behind the secret excavation of the Red House in Tarsus they may have figured out where St Paul stashed his original Bible in
his hometown and went to get it but even if the rumor is true the Vatican will never admit it the weird fate of Abraham The Testament of Abraham is one of the ban books of the Bible that contains contradictions to the accepted scripture although there is one group that accepts it as Holy Scripture beta Israel Ethiopian Jews regard the book as holy Cannon but nobody else but what is the book about it revolves around Abraham's reluctance to die I think we can all relate to that a little bit God sends the Angel Michael to tell
Abraham that he's going to die but when Michael meets Abraham he can't do it Abraham is too nice of a guy so Michael returns to heaven and tells God he doesn't want to inform Abraham of his imminent death Michael and God come to a compromise God will send a dream to Abraham's son Isaac and then Isaac will tell his father that he's going to die Michael is too squeamish to do it himself this was probably meant to be funny to readers 2,000 years ago for the rest of the book Abraham does everything in his power
to avoid dying he gets into an argument with death he prays to God to keep death away from him but in the end Abraham can't escape his fate death convinces Abraham to kiss his hand saying it will make him feel better instead Abraham kisses death and instantly dies then his soul is lifted up to heaven it's one of the few non-canonical books that Scholars agree was made need purely for entertainment what's your favorite weird biblical story either non-canonical or otherwise let me know in the comments and thanks so much for watching the video today be
sure to subscribe if you haven't already and come back for more awesome stuff from the channel Nicolo Paganini Nicolo Paganini played the violin with such Divine skill that people believed he had sold his soul to the devil in exchange for his unprecedented Talent Nicolo was born in October October of 1782 in Genoa Italy and from the very beginning he was a musical genius he started playing the mandolin at 5 years old took up the violin at 700 performed publicly at 11: and started doing solo tours at only 15 years old out of all the Fantastic
musicians that came out of the 19th century Nicolo was without a doubt the best those who didn't believe he had sold his soul for his skills were convinced it was his mother who had done it for him there were rumors that nicolo's mom had made a PCT with the devil giving up her own soul when he was just a boy to ensure he would grow to be the best violin player in human history this may be true or Nicolo may have just been a legitimate Prodigy history tells us he studied with the famous violinist alesandro
Rola at 13 but he soon ran out of things to teach the boy even at such a young age Nicolo was so talented the best living artists couldn't keep up with him however talent doesn't always end in happiness shortly after Nicolo began performing as a teenager he had a mental breakdown he became a raging alcoholic a womanizer and a gambler there were rumors that Nicolo went so insane he disemboweled a woman and used her intestines as violin strings he also allegedly imprisoned the woman's Soul inside of his instrument so that people could hear her screams
when he played his violin in public John Fen and the inquisitions King James I 6 of Scotland was to be married to Princess Anne of Denmark in 1589 however on her way to Scotland she was delayed by raging storms she and her company had to wait in Norway and the unexpected Tempest was quickly blamed on a group of malevolent witches supposedly witches wanted to thwart the marriage although there's never been any proof of that whatever the case King James was irritated Enough by his new wife's delay that in both Denmark and Scotland witch hunts were
carried out to finally rid the land of the Demonic Scourge the worst Inquisition that happened following the storm is known today as the north baric Witch Trials King James himself supervised the trials and even participated in the torture one of the alleged witches was a man named John fan ousted by another man named Gillis Duncan who confessed a witchcraft after being brutally tortured JN was tortured to the point that he was nearly dead but he never confessed to anything not until a pair of pine needles were found underneath his tongue these pine needles were supposedly
part of a spell designed to prevent a witch from confessing their crimes when tortured after the needles were removed Jon allegedly confessed that he had sold his soul to the devil to gain Supernatural Powers his main power was the ability to bewitch men and make them go insane interestingly Jon also allegedly seduced a cow which the towns folk had seen following him around everywhere he went for his terrible crimes John Fen was sentenced to death after again being brutally tortured of course Faus Jonathan Faus was a German occultist in the 15th century and the origin
behind the phrase fian bargain a fian bargain is another term for making a deal with the devil in exchange for one Soul Jonathan was born in either 1466 or 1480 ad nobody knows for sure his first real appearance in the record books is in 1506 ad when he was caught performing magic tricks and reading horoscopes in gy Housen over the next three decades similar records of Jonathan's exploits can be found all over Germany he appeared as a physician a doctor of philosophy an astrologer and frequently as an alchemist he was almost always accused of Fraud
and chased out of town the church denounced him publicly as a blasphemer a heretic and a man who had sold his soul to the devil when Jonathan Faus died in 1540 or 1541 ad again it's uncertain it was allegedly in an explosion due to an experiment gone wrong his body was discovered horribly mutilated and it was determined that Satan was behind it the devil supposedly came to collect Jonathan's soul and ripped him apart it's true that Jonathan was considered a man in League with Satan during his life most people suspected his strange knowledge of the
occult was due to some kind of secret wisdom whispered in his ear by Satan himself but it wasn't until over a hundred years after his death that the writer Johan spies wrote of Dr Johan Fon a striking a bargain with the devil and from there the true legend of Faus was born he's been a staple figure in pop culture ever since Pope Sylvester II Pope Sylvester II was born in the year 946 ad under the name Gerber of orac he grew up to be a scholar in France and a teacher then went on to serve
as the bishop of Rome and ruler of the Papal States from 999 ad up until his death in 103 ad he did a lot of good while he was in office such as promoting the study of arithmetic and Mathematics he is credited for bringing the Abacus back to Europe as it had been lost for centuries since the Greco Roman era and also introduced the decimal numeral system then in 996 ad Pope Sylvester invented the first mechanical clock however there's something else that happened to Pope Sylvester that not many people know according to Legend while he
was studying astrology and Mathematics in the Muslim city of Seville he also began to study sorcery he came into possession of a book of spells from an unknown Arab philosopher while in Spain and it was around the same time as he was allegedly dabbling in Magic that he met a female demon named meridiana through his connection with the demon he supposedly played a game of Dice With the Devil he won the game and Satan made sure that he won the papacy and went on to became the first French Pope whether the devil really did make
Gerber the pope is impossible to confirm what we do know is that not a lot of people were happy with his Ascension to the papacy he tried to clean up the clergy by insisting only those who lived spotless lives could ever become Bishops in other words only true holy men would be Bishops in the church regardless of position influence or wealth this led to a great revolt against him and Pope Sylvester II was chased out of Rome by The Nobles and when he tried to return to reclaim his throne he was killed the devil's book
in the mythology of the Puritans it was believed a person could Embark upon a covenant with Satan by signing their name with either rink or blood in something called The Devil's book it was only by signing a person's name in this diabolical book that they could gain demonic powers or become a practicing witch no place in history has the devil's book been more important than the Salem witch trials in the minds of the Puritans of Salem Village in the 169s there was only one real way to cement any kind of dealing with Satan they believed
that because Puritans had to sign the church membership log in order to make their Covenant with God satanists and witches had to do the same thing in March of 1692 when Abigail Williams took the stand in Salem she accused Local woman Rebecca nurse of trying to force her into signing the devil's book so that she could join Rebecca's coven and in April of that same year when mercy Lewis accused Giles Corey of Witchcraft she claimed Giles had appeared to her as a floating spirit and tried to convince her to sign the devil's book the book
was used as irrefutable proof of Wizardry if a man or woman was in possession of the book and a god-loving member of the community had witnessed it obviously they were in League with the devil even though nobody truly saw the book most people believed it was out there somewhere when Giles Corey was interrogated and he refused to confess or deny the charges brought against him he was killed by pressing Rebecca nurse was also executed and was hanged on July 19th 1692 the Lowden possession Urban grander signed his name on a piece of paper when he
made a PCT with the devil in the 17th century the paper was also allegedly signed by Leviathan asteroth and a small assortment of other demons it was used as evidence in the 1634 Lowden possession trial in France this was the first big Scandal involving a demonic possession in France during that Century Urban who was a parish priest at the time was accused of making a deal with the devil then allowing Satan into his body the allegations came after a group of nuns stepped forward to claim Urban had been abusing them behind closed doors to get
him executed and away from them the nuns claimed he was in cahoots with the devil they said after he sold his soul he allowed Satan to reside in his body so that it could taste Earthly Pleasures exorcisms were performed on the priest and others thought to be possessed so often they became a tourist attraction witches were tortured during this time including Urban himself then in August of 1634 when it was clear the devil wasn't going to be leaving his body Urban was burned alive at the stake seander fraudi samand fraudi aka seander the Learned was
an Icelandic priest born in the year 1056 ad he studied in France as a Young Man returned to Iceland and founded a school at ODI he also wrote a long and very important history of Norwegian kings the work is currently lost with no surviving copy but it was used by authors who came after to help complete other works on the history of Norway however in Icelandic folklore same under is a much more interesting character there are various stories about seander using his Superior craftiness to trick the devil into doing his dirty work for him the
most famous story involves seander making a pact with the devil to carry him all the way from Europe to Iceland in the form of a seal he mocked Satan and said he couldn't do it which only made the demon want to prove him wrong when the devil changed shape he took the free ride to Iceland then tricked him as they reached the shore as soon as they arrived just before they touched down on the ground samand hit the seal on the head with a Bible and then stepped ashore himself it might not sound that clever
to us in this day and age but it was such a popular story in Iceland that it has survived all the way until now would you rather become the greatest and richest musician in the world but never be allowed to fall in love or be the most hated person on the planet with tons of money let us know in the comments below and don't forget to subscribe the speed demon in the 17th century the Dutch Empire was quickly spreading across the world and they had colonies on just about every major continent their most lucrative colony
was bavia what's now known as Indonesia yet even though they had access to the best and most coveted spices in the world their success was all about speed the faster a captain could move product from one port to another the more money there was to be made and there was stiff competition from Portugal and England the faster the captain the Richer the crew at the beginning of the century traveling from Indonesia to the Netherlands usually took about a year but then came 1678 when the famous Captain Bernard folk made the trip in less than 4
months he had managed to sail across the whole length of Africa across the Indian Ocean and home to Europe about four times S faster than anyone else in the world could he didn't have a special boat the winds didn't treat him any differently he simply sailed faster as if by Magic this insanely Fast Trip was quick to spark rumors people began Whispering that burnard folk had made a deal with the devil only with the help of Satan was he able to become the fastest captain on the globe becoming Filthy Rich and in truth even these
days nobody has any clue how he managed to make such a fast Journey if not for the devil's help Jonathan Molton Jonathan Molton is a famous figure from New Hampshire's ancient history in the 18th century he rose through the political ranks as a bit of a weasel he conned Governor Benning Wentworth into giving him a huge Grant of land a place currently called New Hampton he also changed loyalties whenever it fit his cause he guarded New Hampton in the Revolutionary War then switched sides and supported the Continental Army during the Battle of Saratoga he continued
knew to be a powerful political leader who flip-flopped up until his death in 1787 these days historians consider him the wealthiest man from Hampton but very little is known about his life he was supposedly the son of a cabinet maker and earned his immense Fortune through buying and selling Goods he was also supposedly a treasure Thief pillaging shipwrecks on the New Hampshire Coastline however there's a much darker Theory surrounding Jonathan Molton after he died and was buried buried in an unmarked grave people began spreading rumors that Jonathan had made a deal with the devil he
supposedly sold his soul for a boot filled with gold for every year of his life then when he was dead Satan supposedly stole his corpse from his grave and left a boot filled with gold in his place jel de jel D was one of the worst serial killers in history however he fought alongside Joon of Arc in the 15th century as a prestigious nobleman he dedicated his entire life to defending France from England and fought to The Bitter End until France was victorious in the 100 Years War after he was done being a hero with
Joon aak jel de was convicted by a court in N for murdering 150 children in Satanic ult rituals he was busted in 1440 after he abducted a priest and the local church authorities grew suspicious he was such a horrific figure that after he was hanged and burned in 1440 after a 5day trial he became the inspiration for the French folk tale of Blue Beard the problem for Jil de was that after he retired from military service he started squandering his fortune he made a bunch of bad Investments he had a gluttonous lifestyle and he went
broke to reestablish his finances and regain his wealth he turned to the Black Arts J de started associating with Sorcerers and engaging in rituals these rituals typically involved sacrificing humans and dismembering children to summon the devil his goal was to strike a deal with Satan or really with any demonic force that would listen to make him Rich again but in the end jeld Dre was just a sick murderer who wound up hanged 5 days before Halloween His official number of victims is 150 but some historians say it could be up to 600 what would the
devil have to offer you in order for you to give up your soul let us know in the comments and thanks for watching the demon Pazuzu Pazuzu is thought to be one of the oldest demons in the world he was an Assyrian Babylonian God who was respected from around 1,000 BC to 1 BC in the Epic of Gilgamesh Pazuzu was famous as the son of the king of demons of the underworld Hani and brother to hamba who was killed by the heroes Pazuzu was considered a demon of the underworld Master of the Winds and bringer
of famine during the dry season in the rainy season Pazuzu was responsible for causing brutal storms and sending plagues of locusts to devastate crops he was a destructive demon and yet he was also considered the only possible defense against the very forces he controlled so pretty double-edged sword he created storms but was the only one who could stop them he sent a plague and was the only one to get rid of it this was a fairly common belief when it came to Demons in the ancient world prior to Christianity and the Egyptians had similar thoughts
they recognized demons as Bringers of Destruction and also as salvations against it prayers were said in the name of Pazuzu as a way of satisfying the demon and stopping him from bringing Calamity down on the people these days Pazuzu is likely the only demon from ancient Mesopotamia most people have heard of he was depicted as the demon who possesses the little girl in The Exorcist movie from 1973 and even though Pazuzu was directly linked to the forces of Christianity in the film he was around long before the Christian devil ever took Center Stage as the
primary force of evil in the world Archangel Gabriel Archangel Gabriel is one of the most important of God's trusted Messengers he is the angel of Revelation because in many religions God chooses Gabriel to communicate important messages or do the heavy lifting in other words he is also a guardian and protector sometimes shown as a warrior angel with a sword slaying beasts and demons he is also one of the only angels that has a prominent place in every single abrahamic religion Gabriel revealed the Quran to the prophet Muhammad and he is mentioned in the Book of
Daniel the New Testament the Hebrew Bible and the Jewish Talman throughout several different faiths Gabriel has the important task of announcing God's will to the most important of the prophets he appears to Moses Jesus and Muhammad making him a symbol of God and a personification of his word Gabriel is the Angel who appears to the founders of the three main abrahamic faiths Christianity Islam and Judaism in Christianity Gabriel has a lot of important roles to play he visits Mary to reveal that she will give birth to the Son of God and in the Book of
Revelation Gabriel is the Angel who blows the horn to announce the Judgment Day Has Come in modern Catholicism St Gabriel the archangel is the patron saint of communications and has a feast day on September 20 199th Gabriel's story is different the further we Stray From the Source material in the latterday Saint theology Gabriel was a mortal who went under the name Noah after Noah died he was resurrected to become the angel Gabriel meaning all of his children are considered to be Angelic Offspring be elub the world of demonology and Christianity is extremely complex one of
the biggest issues is the difference between what was originally written in the first versions of the Bible and all the adaptations that came after beab is typically used as another name for Satan however in more recent demonology terms beab is one of the seven princes of Hell surprisingly most of the Demons we are familiar with today were created over the past 2,000 years as extra characters to flesh out Christian law almost all the most notorious Christian demons from bile to asmodus did not appear in the Bible itself but came from the history of other ancient
civilizations beab was originally a word that means Lord of the Flies and in Hebrew literature the name can be translated to Lord of Filth or Lord of dung beab is depicted in ancient images as a fly or a bug and scholars believe his name has likely lived on through the Millennia as some sort of God related to dirty and filth in Christian tradition he is high up in the hierarchy of Hell 16th century occultist Johan wire believed that babine led revolt against the devil and was the chief Lieutenant of Lucifer Johan wi was a very
interesting figure who was a physician and demonologist he was among one of the first people to publish works against the persecution of witches VAB is a false god in the Old Testament the patron saint of the Philistine city of ekron he was most likely once the god Baal but his name was transformed and ruined over the years until much later in the New Testament it was synonyms for Satan Angel of the Abyss abadan is one of the only angels that makes an appearance in the New Testament however his mention is brief and can only be
found in the Book of Revelation his name which can also be pronounced apolon translates roughly to destruction and while you may have heard the name abadin associated with Satan he is never represented as being the Devil he's the lord of the abyss and will be responsible for the plague of locusts that will terrorize Humanity at the end of days depending on which religion scripture you're reading abadin is very different in the Hebrew Bible he isn't an angel or a demon but simply a name for a bottomless pit filled with the souls of the Dead in
the Book of Revelation abadin is the leader of the army of locusts an angel summoned by God after the fifth seal is opened and the fifth trumpet is blown abadin is responsible for opening the pit releasing the locusts and allowing them to torment everyone on the planet who does not believe in God these are no ordinary locusts either they are described in Revelation as looking more like horses with human faces teeth like a lion long hair and the tail of a scorpion with a poisonous Stinger these are terrifying creatures that will be some of the
last things on earth during the days of the Apocalypse what's interesting about abadin is that some say he's a demon While others say he's an angel but the symbolism in Revelation is pretty clear abadin although his job might be horrible and he lives in a dark abyss is indeed an angel of God and not of Satan he's a representative of God whose job it is to help Usher in the end of all things asteroth asteroth in the world of demonology is one of the highest ranking demons in Hell the Unholy Trinity or the Dukes of
hell are composed of Lucifer be elab and asteroth if we go back to the New Testament we won't find any mention of this vague and obscure demon many historians believe asteroth came from the pH iian goddess aati who was worshiped as the goddess of love war and Justice her worship was likely quite strong in the days of the Canaanite people when the first chapters of the Old Testament were written it's only in the Hebrew Bible that a place called ashtaroth KH name is mentioned just like the city of Athens was named after the goddess Athena
the ancient city of ashtaroth was likely named after the goddess aati in the Hebrew Bible the city was the location of a great battle between King kadala and the reim and in the Book of Judges there's a passage discussing how the Hebrew people were putting aside their bals and asaroth or in other words discarding their foreign Gods it was from these old passages and the ancient history of Phoenicia that asteroth was adopted into demonology in the 16th century he first appeared in the false monarchy of demons published in 1577 working alongside Lucifer and beab to
rule over the Dominion of Hell Archangel RAF AEL Archangel Raphael is arguably the most benevolent of all of God's angels He is the angel of healing a being of pure compassion for those who struggle with physical and mental issues and even those troubled emotionally and spiritually Raphael's duty is to bring people closer to God and to heal their wounds in the world of addictions Raphael is the singular angel that people pray to for guidance and help out of their despair in ancient religious texts Raphael is mostly depicted as a Healer in the Book of Tobit
an official part of the Bible he restores sight to the blind heals people spiritually and emotionally and drives away a demon of lust after it torments a woman named Sarah and in Islamic tradition Raphael is also the master of music who sings his praise of God in over a thousand languages often in artworks Raphael is depicted holding either a staff which represents healing or an emblem known as a caducus that symbolizes the medical profession there are also times where the Archangel is Illustrated with a fish which refers to a biblical story where he uses a
part of the marine animal to cure a man's blindness in The Book of Enoch which was not an official part of the Bible Archangel Raphael is tasked with healing the world after the Fallen Angels corrupted it by procreating with human women anywhere that he's mentioned he's described as the Healer of Earth's evil and afflictions gadriel just like how some demons were created after the original Bible there are some angels who appear not in the canonical scripture but in myth and in the Forbidden books in the non-canonical biblical text The Book of Enoch the angel gadriel
is mentioned the angel's name doesn't come up anywhere in the official Bible only in these Fringe texts one of the biggest themes of the Book of Enoch is demonology and the origin of the Nephilim which are first mentioned in Genesis according to the Book of Enoch gadriel was one of the 200 gregori or the Angelic Watchers who fought alongside Satan during the Rebellion against God gadriel was one of the leaders of these rebellious angels and was among the first to enter into intimate relations with human women that made gadriel one of the first fathers of
the Nephilim the Abominable Giants who lived during the anti Delian times the Nephilim were so abhorent that God was forced to wipe the earth clean with his great flood adrc in the book of Kings adrc is mentioned only briefly as a Semitic God he was woried by the citizens of sepam a city captured by sagon II king of Assyria in the Bible the people of this Assyrian City are described as heathens worshippers of the false god to whom they gave great blood sacrifices they burned their children alive as glorious offerings to adrc their Barbarian deity
however adrc was only one Pagan God as there were many others worshiped by the people of Mesopotamia he has been closely associated with another terrifying entity from Mesopotamia called Bal which was also a horrifying God who demanded children for his sacrifices as the years went by both Bal and adrc transformed from being powerful Gods worshiped by the Mesopotamians to being demons in hell adrc is a demon in many Christian Traditions a fallen angel beside the likes of asmodus who was ultimately vanquished by the archangels Uriel and Raphael in more obscure modern demonology adrc has been
downgraded Ed all the way to supervisor of Satan's wardrobe he's usually seen in artwork as a creature with the head of a donkey the Torso of a human and tale of a peacock cornen cornen is one of the strangest demons you've most likely never heard of this demonic monster did not take form until the 16th century created by the insane occultists John D and Edward Kelly declaimed that all of his mystical knowledge was given to him by Angels who revealed themselves in a vision he is also credited as being the creator of enoan magic D
was an important figure in the 16th century he was not only a mathematician and astronomer but also an alchemist and a firm believer in the occult he was the adviser to Elizabeth the and spent the majority of his time researching ancient magical texts and dabbling in divination cornen the chaos demon was originally mentioned in one of D's mad scribblings however corons and wooden become a truly frightening force of evil until alist Crowley in the 20th century as you may already know Crowley was considered the worst man on Earth at that time as he was busy
founding the highly controversial Thelma religion Crowley made huge waves in England up until his death in 1947 and is famous for his wacky attempts at summoning demons and trying to bring the devil Out of Hell one of his favorite demons was cornen the dweller of the Abyss the demon was said to be the last thing standing between a person and their Enlightenment the only way for a theelite to reach Enlightenment was to fight through the chaos of Corin and's abyss and come out unscathed on the other side Crowley supposedly tried to summon cornen in Algeria
in December of 1909 the angel of peace shamuel is known as the angel of Peace he is traditionally connected to the unconditional love of God the search for inner peace and conflict resolution he's also the angel of romantic love and is typically by those looking to come to terms with their own relationships in life In traditional Christian art Archangel shamuel is generally depicted with heart symbols in the religious texts shamuel is nowhere to be found he isn't mentioned by name in a single major religious text in either the Jewish or Christian traditions and yet both
of these faiths have identified him as carrying out major missions for God he was the angel who comforted Adam and Eve after the angel Jil kicked them out of the Garden of Eden and sh also comforted Jesus Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane before the crucifixion the only place shamuel seems to be mentioned by name is in the cabala the esoteric School of Jewish mysticism in the cabala shamuel is one of 10 angels of God but how he made his way into popular Christian culture is something of a mystery what's your take on the history
of Angels and Demons let us know in the comments and don't forget to subscribe thanks for watching and we'll see you next time
