are we really close to the return of Christ the Bible does tell us that Jesus will return so are we seeing the signs of his coming in the world today and what are the signs of his coming did you know that Jesus actually answered this exact question in Matthew chapter 24. it's true the Lord's disciples asked him what the signs of his coming would be and we can actually read his answer to their question so instead of speculating or guessing if world events and catastrophes that we are witnessing are in fact signs of the return of Christ let's look at what Jesus actually said shall we now before we jump in I want to say that in this video I'm going to try to address all of the most common questions about this chapter and I will talk about other views on the passage that disagree with what I'm laying out here I know there are a lot of opinions about the correct interpretation of Matthew 24 so I'm asking that if you disagree with my conclusion at least hear me out first and then leave me a note in the comments below to let me know what you think now let's get to it beginning in verse 1 of chapter 24 we read the setting of this conversation Jesus went out and departed from the temple now probably one day before this in Matthew 21 Jesus had entered into Jerusalem riding on a donkey on what we call Palm Sunday his disciples then proclaimed that he was the Messiah the Son of David and on the next day the Jewish religious and political leaders the scribes and Pharisees responded to the claim that Jesus was the Messiah by challenging him with questions intended to trip him up in his words so that they could find accusation against him of course Jesus perfectly answered their trick questions and in Matthew 23 he responded to their challenges by teaching the crowd that the scribes and Pharisees were hypocrites Jesus explained that their rejection of him as the Messiah would bring destruction upon the city of Jerusalem behold your house is left unto you desolate he said now there's a lot of backstory to this statement but basically the Old Testament Prophet Malachi prophesied that if the people of Israel did not repent at the preaching of Elijah meaning John the Baptist and did not prepare their hearts for the coming of the Messiah then the Messiah would come and would Smite the Earth with a curse in Matthew 23 verse 38 after the Jewish leaders rejected Jesus as the Messiah he in turn pronounced that curse prophesied by Malachi this curse was also mentioned in Daniel chapter 9 verse 26 where the Prophet wrote that the Messiah would be cut off meaning he would be rejected and killed and then the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary back to Matthew 24 right after pronouncing this prophesied curse Jesus left the temple and as he went out the Bible says his disciples came for to show him the buildings of the temple and Jesus said unto them see you not all these things verily I say unto you there shall not be left here one stone upon another that shall not be thrown down by this Jesus reiterated the prophecy of Daniel that since the people of Israel had rejected the Messiah the city of Jerusalem and the sanctuary of the temple would be utterly destroyed now we know from history that this prophecy did actually take place exactly as Jesus said it would it happened in 70 A. D about 37 years after Jesus prophesied this to his disciples a Roman Emperor named Titus completely destroyed the city of Jerusalem and the temple just as Jesus predicted in fact the Jews remained without a nation or a Homeland for nearly two Millennia after that destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.
D they came back into their land in the year 1948. so we know what Jesus was referring to with this prophecy but at the time his disciples did not understand at all remember they thought that Jesus the Messiah was on the earth to conquer and reign as king they didn't have any concept that he was going to leave and then come back one day to Reign they assumed that he would bring in the kingdom of God very soon perhaps in the next few days or the next few months so when they heard Jesus teach that Jerusalem would be destroyed they probably guessed that he was referring to the moment when he invaded Jerusalem to conquer it as the reigning Messiah that's why later they asked him about this prophecy we read in verse 3 and as he sat upon the Mount of Olives the disciples came unto him privately saying tell us when shall these things be and what shall be the sign of thy coming and of the end of the world notice that they thought that this prophecy about Jerusalem being destroyed was about the Lord's coming to reign in Jerusalem and the end of the age of men ruling over the world they were asking for a sign when will we know that it's time to take up arms and fight by your side Lord what signs will tell us that it's time to conquer the kingdom with military force and destroy the city of Jerusalem but of course Jesus was not talking about the end of the world when he would return and conquer the kingdoms of men by force he was as we know talking about the curse prophesied by Malachi and Daniel that would be fulfilled very soon in 70 A. D that's why Jesus responded to his disciples request for a sign of his coming saying take heed that no man deceive you he's telling them right up front that they had it wrong this destruction of Jerusalem was not going to be part of his coming now as we walk through this chapter we'll find that it naturally divides itself into four parts which I will attempt to outline as we go verse 4 introduces the first of the general points that Jesus is making in this teaching which appears to be that the disciples were looking for the wrong signs the war against and the destruction of Jerusalem would not be signs of the end Jesus said take heed that no man deceive you and proceeded to list the things that would happen between then and his coming that were not actually signs of his coming many he said shall come in my name saying I am Christ and shall deceive many and ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars see the GB not troubled for these things must come to pass but the end is not yet for nation shall rise against nation and Kingdom against Kingdom and there shall be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in diverse places all these are the beginning of Sorrows Jesus is clearly saying that all of these things are not signs of his coming not false christs not Wars or rumors of wars not famines not pestilences and not earthquakes in fact he said these things will already be taking place at the beginning not just at the end he goes on to say that he that endureth to the end shall be saved which tells us that they were not at the end yet right and that Jesus was not promising that the disciples would even make it to the end alive saved here seems to refer to the Salvation of the body or being rescued from Death so Jesus was directly telling them that they did not have a promise that they would continue living until he returned whoever is still here at the end those are the ones that are saved from death he's saying I won't tell you that you are going to be physically saved from being Martyrs for my name I make no promises whoever is still alive at the end that person was saved from being a martyr of course this is another accurate prediction because as Jesus prophesied many Christians have been killed for the last 2 000 years and we can see that there have indeed been many false christs many wars and rumors of wars many famines many diseases many earthquakes and diverse places and Christians have not been exempt from these hardships in answer to their question the Lord wanted his disciples to understand specifically that the war and destruction of Jerusalem that would come in 70 A.
D and would kill many people even Christians would not be a sign of the end of the world but there is one clear sign of the end of the world the Prophet Daniel wrote about it extensively and Jesus referred to it next in verse 15. he said when ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the Prophet stand in the Holy place whoso readeth let him understand then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains this brings us to point number two in our outline number one the things the disciples expected to be signs were not in fact signs and number two Daniel already gave them a sign it was the abomination of desolation now if you haven't watched my videos on the Prophecies of the Book of Daniel then I'm going to urge you to pause this video and go watch those first if you are unfamiliar with the Prophecies of Daniel then it will be very difficult for you to understand what Jesus meant here because he quoted The Book of Daniel and his teaching he even said that the only way to understand his teaching is if you read the book of Daniel whoso readeth let him understand this is where a lot of theologians begin to make mistakes in their interpretation of Matthew 24 because this passage cannot be rightly understood without a comprehensive understanding of the Book of Daniel the Prophet Daniel wrote that 70 groups of seven year time periods would count down from the rebuilding of the city of Jerusalem until the Messiah would come to Reign on the Earth 69 of those seven year periods or 483 years with count from the rebuilding of Jerusalem in the time of Nehemiah until the Messiah would come and be cut off then after he was killed the temple in Jerusalem would be destroyed that's the curse that we've already seen in the beginning of Matthew 24. then sometime later the final of the 77-year time periods would take place in the middle of which the temple in Jerusalem would have to be rebuilt because halfway through this final seven years an evil man leading a world Empire will enter into the temple and desecrate it declaring himself to be God this Abomination is alluded to in Daniel 7.
it is pictured in Daniel 8 it is described for the first time with any detail in Daniel 9 and then we're given extensive details about it in chapters 11 and 12. each of Daniel's prophecies reveal more information about this abomination of desolation it's kind of the theme of the whole book of Daniel and in the Final Chapter Daniel 12 we see that after that evil King claims that he is God he will proceed to persecute severely those who reject his deity and this will begin a time of great trouble for the Believers such as never was before Daniel even tells us exactly how long this trouble will last 1290 days and 1335 days after the day when the Abomination takes place now we don't know for sure why two sets of days were given but Daniel tells us that believers who are persecuted during this time will need to wait 1290 days but will be blessed if they weighed 1335 days the interpretation of this seems rather simple if you ask me it seems that 1290 days after the abomination of desolation God will supernaturally intervene and stop that enemy from continuing to persecute his Saints then there will be only 45 days left until the Messiah returns 1290 days counts to the end of the persecution of saints and 1335 days counts to the blessing that they'll receive when the Messiah returns this timeline seems to be exactly what Jesus referred to in Matthew 24. he said when the abomination of desolation happens they were to flee to the mountains because then shall be Great Tribulation meaning persecution such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time nor ever shall be now that's almost a direct quotation of Daniel 12 which says and there shall be a time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time and Jesus even said except those days should be shortened there should no flesh be saved but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened this reinforces the view that God does something miraculous to prevent the enemy from continuing his persecution of the Saints after 1290 days 45 days early before Jesus returns this conclusion is also incredibly consistent with what we're told in the Book of Revelation but we'll save those prophecies for another day Jesus also warned of an incredible amount of deception during this time then if any man shall say unto you Lo here is Christ or there believe it not for there shall arise false christs and false prophets and shall show great signs and wonders in so much that if it were possible they shall deceive the very elect this also is a reference to Daniel chapter 12 verse 10 which says many shall be purified and made white and tried but the wicked shall do wickedly and none of the wicked shall understand but the wise shall understand both Jesus and Daniel taught that even though the deception will be great during this time the Saints will not be deceived these two teachings are so similar because Jesus was referencing the prophecy of Daniel next Jesus said immediately after the tribulation of those days which seems to refer to the 45 days after the 1290-day persecution ends but before the coming of Christ on the 1335th day in those in between days Jesus said the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light and the Stars shall fall from Heaven and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken and then shall appear the sign of the son of man in heaven so the 1290 days of persecution will end 45 days before Jesus returns then the sun will be darkened and the moon turned to blood then he said shall all the tribes of the earth mourn and they shall see the son of man coming in the Clouds Of Heaven with power and great Glory again this statement of Jesus is a reference to Daniel in chapter 7 verse 13 which says I saw in the night visions and behold one like the son of man came with the Clouds Of Heaven I think you get the point in Matthew 24 Jesus is explaining end times prophecy using the prophecy of Daniel as his proof text and even telling us that we won't understand his teaching if we don't study the Book of Daniel the real signs of his coming he says will start as Daniel prophesied with the abomination of desolation and Daniel said that will kick off a 1335-day countdown until the Messiah comes to conquer the Earth in that 1335 days there will be great persecution against Believers then that persecution will be cut short the sun will then be darkened the moon turned to blood and then finally the people of the earth will see Jesus coming in power and Glory this context explains why Jesus added now learn a parable of the Fig Tree when his branch is yet tender and puteth forth leaves ye know that summer is nigh so likewise when ye shall see all these things know that it is near even at the doors now fig trees in the Bible are consistently used as pictures of times and seasons in Song of Solomon a fig tree is seen blossoming which meant that it was spring here when the Fig Tree puts forth leaves you know it's almost Summer the point that Jesus made is that when you see the abomination of desolation it will be like seeing a fig tree putting forth its leaves because when a fig tree puts forth its leaves you know when the summer will be and when you see the abomination of desolation you'll know exactly when Jesus will return if you've studied the Book of Daniel furthermore Jesus also reminded them that everything will happen very quickly after the abomination of desolation verily he said this generation shall not pass till all these things be fulfilled meaning the generation that sees these things the abomination of desolation and the subsequent timetable of Daniel is going to be the generation that sees everything fulfilled because remember Daniel's prophecy said that it would all take place in 1335 days so we're halfway through the passage now and we've seen points one and two on our outline the signs the disciples were looking for were all wrong and the sign of Christ's soon coming is the abomination of desolation that kicks off the timeline spoken of in Daniel now before moving on to number three let's pause and address some opposing views on this part of the passage some people argue that this abomination of desolation that Jesus referred to is not some future Antichrist who will claim that he is God but is actually just describing the destruction of the temple in 70 A.
D well we can certainly say that that did leave the temple desolate didn't it so could that be what Jesus was referring to when he said when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the Prophet flee to the mountains well no definitely not and I think we should come to this conclusion for many reasons not the least of which is the very context of Jesus teaching in Matthew 24. the destruction of the temple was not the sign of his coming but the abomination of desolation was the sign of his coming if the destruction of the temple was the abomination of desolation then it would be the sign of his coming and since the destruction of Jerusalem happened at the conclusion of a war then why did Jesus say that wars and rumors of wars were not signs of his coming furthermore if the destruction of Jerusalem was the sign of the coming of Christ why hasn't he come yet Daniel said that the Blessed event that they were waiting for would come 1335 days after the Abomination so where is he some who hold this view would argue that Jesus did come back in 70 A. D he came in judgment on Israel in a sort of figurative way when Israel was destroyed it was Jesus coming to judge them figuratively but again that would mean that the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.
D was the coming of Christ so how could the destruction of Jerusalem be the abomination of desolation if the abomination of desolation is a sign of the coming of Christ and the destruction of Jerusalem is also the coming of Christ it's both a sign of his coming and it also is his coming on this view the words of Christ would be absolutely nonsensical so I think we're really safe to dismiss it but others would argue that Jesus was referring to his death on the cross as the abomination of desolation which they say was a sign that he would be coming in judgment on Jerusalem 37 years later in 70 A. D if the destruction of Jerusalem was the coming of Christ could the death of Christ have been the abomination of desolation well again this just doesn't work for many reasons first because the death of Christ on the cross did not make the temple desolate it did not cause sacrifice and oblation to see says Daniel said it would and Daniel wrote very specifically about the abomination in chapter 11 saying that it would include a king exalting himself as God and in chapter 9 he wrote that it would take place after the Messiah was cut off so Jesus is the Messiah right so how could the Abomination have taken place after the Messiah was cut off if the killing of Jesus was itself the Abomination and who caused sacrifices in the temple to cease in 33 A. D by claiming to be God well no one did even the Apostle Paul when writing of the abomination of desolation in second Thessalonians described it as a future event when a man would enter into the temple and claim to be God and that was written after Jesus had already died on the cross remember what Jesus said about the persecution of the saints that will begin at the abomination of desolation and Matthew 24 21 he said for then shall be Great Tribulation such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time no nor ever shall be yes Israel was destroyed in 70 A.
D but that can't be what Jesus is speaking about here that was not the first time that the nation was destroyed and it was not the first time that the Jewish people were cast out of their Homeland or persecuted and killed it also wasn't the last time either Jewish people have been hated and killed for as long as they've existed but the persecution of saints that Jesus spoke about was said to be something that has never happened before and will never happen again this rules out 70 A. D as the abomination of desolation or as the promised persecution that would follow the Abomination so these arguments that I've been responding to that the abomination of desolation could have been the death of Christ or maybe that it was the destruction of Jerusalem and 70 A. D are what theologians call preterist views of Matthew 24 and I think it's obvious that they fall short in major ways when compared with the Book of Daniel remember since Jesus was quoting Daniel in the passage we cannot expect to have arrived at the correct interpretation of his words if our interpretation doesn't fit with Daniel's very specific prophecy whoso readeth let him understand now that we've observed point one and two of the outline and have dealt with a few objections to our interpretation let's move on to verse 36 where we'll notice 0.
3 of our outline that is the sudden unexpected nature of all of these things taking place but of that day and hour he says knoweth no man no not the angels of heaven but my father only but as the days of Noah were so shall also the coming of the son of man be for as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking marrying and giving in marriage until the day that Noah entered into the ark and knew not until the flood came and took them all away so shall also the coming of the son of man be now how can Jesus possibly say that the day of his coming would be uncertain he's just laid out for his disciples the exact to the day timetable of his coming beginning with the abomination of desolation and concluding 1335 days later that doesn't at all sound uncertain but we have to consider that Jesus might intend the phrase day and hour here to refer to a time period he may not be talking about the literal 24-hour day and the literal 60-minute hour of his return but rather the period of time in which all of these events that he's speaking about will happen it's possible that day here could be used in a similar way as the phrase the day of the Lord which is used in the Bible to refer to the time when Jesus returns as well as the time when he destroys the Earth and creates a new Heaven and a new Earth as well as the reign of Christ that takes place after his return scripture refers to all of it as the day of the Lord even though it's a time period and not just one day in the same way hour in Matthew 24 May well be used much like it is in Revelation 3 10 where the church of Philadelphia is told that they will be kept from the hour of tribulation that will try the whole world clearly that's not referring to a 60-minute hour of tribulation on the whole world it's referring to a time period of tribulation it seems then that we have two possible interpretations of the phrase the day and the hour either Jesus was saying that no one knew the exact 24-hour day and the exact 60-minute hour when he would return or he was saying that no one knew when the time period spoken of by Daniel that would lead up to his return would begin since we know he was referencing the prophecy of Daniel and since Daniel gives us a seven year time period in the middle of which would come the abomination of desolation 1335 days before the end it seems to me that our choice between these two options is not really that difficult and remember the Lord's explanation of this statement he said that immediately before this unknown day or hour people will be eating drinking marrying and giving in marriage and in verse 43 he Compares it to a thief who comes surprisingly in the night while the owner of a house is sleeping this doesn't at all fit with what Jesus just told us about the time right before the 24-hour day when he returns he said that that day will be preceded by a countdown from the sign of the abomination of desolation including Great Tribulation the sun being darkened the Moon turning to blood and we can read in Revelation 19 19 that when Jesus returns the people of the earth will be gathered for battle so signs that give us the exact day of his coming the sun darkened the moon turned to blood and the whole earth gathered for battle this doesn't at all sound like what Jesus described in verse 38 when he said they will be eating drinking marrying and giving in marriage it's reasonable for us to conclude then that the day or hour that he is speaking of is a time period that begins before all of these signs and calamities start in fact to reinforce this we can look at the writings of Paul because they are our here seems to be used exactly like the phrase times and Seasons that Paul wrote in first Thessalonians 5. in fact Paul was actually referencing the teaching of Jesus from Matthew 24 when he wrote but of the times and Seasons Brethren ye have no need that I write unto you for yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night for when they shall say peace and safety then sudden destruction cometh upon them Paul is literally rephrasing the teaching of Jesus reminding the church in thessalonica what Jesus taught on the subject he basically says I don't need to tell you about the times and Seasons because you already know what Jesus taught about that you know back when he said that it would happen as a thief and people would be expecting peace and safety eating drinking and giving in marriage yeah back when he said of the day and hour knoweth no man that's when he taught about the times and Seasons coming at an unexpected moment so then taking into account the fact that Paul was restating Jesus teaching on the day or hour using the phrase times and seasons and taking into consideration that Jesus taught in verses 15 through 35 that the actual 24-hour day when he returned would be preluded by signs and massive terrible events that will thrust the entire world into chaos not a feeling of peace and safety we seem to be very reasonably able to conclude that Jesus was in fact speaking of a time period when he said that the day and hour would come when people were not expecting it now again since he said this in the context of his explanation of Daniel's prophecy we seem to be left with either one of two time periods to choose between in Daniel chapter 9 we read that all of these future events will take place in a period of seven years and in the middle of those seven years the Antichrist will enter the temple of God and will commit the abomination of desolation declaring himself to be God so then the day or hour in Matthew 24 must have been either referring to the whole seven year period of time or else it must have referred to just the last half of the seven years beginning when the Antichrist commits the Abomination and then greatly persecutes the people of God I'll explain why I think it's referring to the seven year period in just a few moments but first let's examine the ramifications of this interpretation of the phrase day and hour as a time period because Jesus said in verse 40 then shall two be in the field the one shall be taken and the other left two women shall be grinding at the Mill the one shall be taken at the other left watch therefore for ye know not what hour your lord doth come now we've already concluded that this is about the beginning of a time period that ends in Christ's coming but he says of the beginning of that time period that it is his coming interesting furthermore the beginning of this time period is not only called the coming of the son of man but is also characterized by people disappearing from the earth suddenly and without warning two women are going about their regular daily labor and suddenly one of them is gone two men are working in the field and suddenly one is gone now when the sun is darkened and the Moon is blood and all the World wishes to kill Christians and have gathered for war we would not expect to see a Believer at an unbeliever working together side by side at the local Mill we seem to be forced to conclude that this refers to a moment before all of these signs take place it has to be referring to a time when people are still saying peace and safety a time when they are eating drinking and giving in marriage it must be referring to the beginning of a whole time period called the coming of Christ and Jesus taught that this coming of Christ time period will start when the Lord takes people out of the earth and will conclude with the Lord's return in Fire and judgment on the wicked that's why I think when considered in context Matthew 24 very clearly teaches what theologians call The pre-tribulation Rapture that is to say that in Matthew 24 Jesus seems to obviously be teaching that he will take people out of this world at the beginning of the seven year period that Daniel prophesied would count down until Jesus returned to claim the kingdom of this world the Apostle Paul also wrote about this in first Thessalonians chapter 4. right before he quoted Jesus saying that the times and Seasons would begin when the world assumed they had peace and safety Paul wrote for the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the Archangel and with the Trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air that phrase caught up is translated from a Greek word harpazzo which when translated into the old Latin Vulgate scriptures was the Latin word rapimer from rapturo from which we get the word rapture so again we find Paul rephrasing Jesus teaching from Matthew 24 and confirming that the time period of the coming of Christ will begin with a catching away Rapture of saints during a time when the world is expecting peace and safety then this world will be plunged into chaos and judgment until the time period of the coming of Christ ends with his physical return and fiery judgment to claim the kingdoms of this world now you might say hang on a minute if Jesus is talking about a Rapture before the time period in which the abomination of desolation takes place it doesn't prove a pre-tribulation Rapture because when we speak of the pre-tribulation rapture we usually mean that the Rapture takes place before the whole seven year time period spoken of by Daniel but couldn't Jesus also have been speaking about a mid-tribulation Rapture meaning a Rapture right before the last half of those seven years right before the abomination of desolation and right before the 1335-day countdown begins well if you think about it that actually doesn't make a whole lot of sense because in the passage Jesus just said that the people who saw the abomination of desolation would need to run to the mountains because they would be persecuted for their faith if the Rapture happens right before the Abomination then why would Jesus tell Believers to run to the mountains there shouldn't be any Saints left on the earth to run to the mountains right they would all be raptured but on the other hand if Jesus was speaking of the entire seven years that we sometimes refer to as the tribulation and if he is to take his people out at the beginning of this seven year time period then there would be three and a half years after the Rapture when more people on the Earth could repent and become Believers and then it would be those new Believers during that time who Jesus was instructing to run to the mountains when they saw the abomination of desolation so again this seems to be very strong evidence for the pre-tribulation rapture anyway now that we've dealt with the controversial verses the rest of Christ's sermon can be summarized very briefly in Matthew 24 verses 36 through 51 Jesus warned his disciples to always be watching and ready for his sudden return and then in Matthew 25 he concluded his sermon with three parables in the first he told of 10 bridesmaids that all appeared to be patiently waiting with a bride for the surprise arrival of her groom but when the groom did arrive five of the Bridesmaids had not brought any oil to light their torches this revealed that they were in fact false Pretenders they wanted to look like they were patient bridesmaids but they had no actual expectation that the groom would really show up or else they would have brought oil then in the second Parable servants were given money by their Master while he was gone for a long time on a journey these stewards were to take that money and use it to continue their Lord's business while he was gone but one of them was too lazy to do the Master's work so he hid the money when the master returned he pointed out that the lazy servant was not really a servant at all for he had not been doing his master's work and the man was thrown into prison these two parables are lessons from the Lord on waiting for his return and warnings that those who appear to be believing Christians who are not actually doing his work in anticipation of his return are probably not actually true Christians at all knowing that Judas was in the group that Jesus was speaking to at the time makes this a really powerful statement for Judas himself appeared to be a servant of Christ but was in truth a pretender the sermon then concludes with the third and final Parable which serves as Christ's explanation of the Judgment of the Nations which will take place after his return this Parable seems pretty straightforward those who are believers when the Lord returns will be shown as such by their faithfulness while he was gone and will be granted entrance into the kingdom of God those who are unbelievers will be cast out now we have come to the end of this great sermon on the signs of the coming of Christ in summary we saw that we won't receive any signs of the Lord's coming other than those already given in the Book of Daniel that count down from an abomination of desolation until his fiery return in judgment 1335 days later the seven year time period in the middle of which the abomination of desolation will take place will begin suddenly when the people of the world are not expecting it and will start with a taking away of saints from the earth this entire seven years is called in Matthew 24 the coming of Christ finally in light of this we must be watching and ready for the return of Christ at any moment Faithfully carrying on his business while we wait so world events and catastrophes that we are witnessing are not signs of the return of Christ but we must still be waiting ready at any moment for his return what do you think have I completely missed it on this one I know there's many different views on the interpretation of this passage but I think what I've laid out here is thorough and consistent with the prophecy of Daniel as well as Paul's Epistles in first and second Thessalonians now I plan to deal with the prophecy in 2nd Thessalonians 2 in my next video so check back on my channel in a few weeks for that and don't forget to go back and watch my videos on the Prophecies of Daniel if you're wondering how I arrive at the conclusions I came to on those whether you agree or disagree I'm looking forward to reading
