today's video we're going to answer what is a good CTR for Facebook ads The Good the Bad and the Ugly in terms of clickthrough rate how much this will affect your profitability or make or break your campaign you can pay as much as five bucks a click per Facebook ad clicks easily or as little as 15 cents a click on Facebook easily how much you pay is up to you more than you think therefore also having to do and if you didn't know with the click-through rate on your ads higher the click-through rate on your
ads lower cost per click you're paying for the same quality of clicks pay low enough you make a ton pay too much you make nothing after all of your expenses I'm going to go through exactly what you need to do to max out your clickthrough rate so you are paying the 15 cents per click ultimately assuming still you do everything right how that compares to the good clickthrough rates that you can get which is going to be over 10% I've actually seen before and the horrible clickthrough rates that a lot of people are going to
get that are clueless they are going to be less than a half a percent so I go through this scale of click-through rates what's good what's bad going from poor below average to average above average outstanding results and then also the Unicorn click through rates that you can also get on your ad campaigns as well that you're trying to run on Facebook ads so and then with that the cost per click that you're going to course correspondingly get as your clickthrough rate goes down starting from five bucks a click or thereof all the way down
to that 15 cents per click range I do I'll I'll tell you up front though whether you're paying you know with a 35% click the rate paying five bucks a click you may pay as much as 15 bucks a click all which all depends on also as well the market demand for the eyeballs that you're trying to grab that is if you want to uh Target on Facebook CEOs you're going to be paying a lot lot more per click for the same click rates as you're going to be paying targeting to broke welfare recipients to
get in front of those people because the amount of money you can extract from those two different audiences is a lot different so and therefore the demand going after the people that you can extract more money from is different in terms of at least what they're willing to pay to get in front of those people and get their attention so you can only expect the amount of what I'm telling you what you're going to pay here per click for a set clickthrough rate that you can achieve more or less also depending on that audience that
you're targeting as well by the way I will give you some examples of where we got super high click the rates we're paying 20 cents a click and how you can actually deliver and get similar results for your campaigns as well figuring out exactly what you want your audience wants to hear which is the key to getting these super high 10 plus% click through rates which can drive a click through or a cost per click is similarly to go along with it of as little as 10 cents a click so with that said Facebook ads
click the rate is a make or break on a lot of campaigns that determines like I was mentioning before whether you either even make money after expenses after the cost of ads after the cost of delivering your product or service or not after you got the basics covered in terms of targeting the what determines if your campaign is going to be successful or not more than anything else so with that said and with your initial efforts to make your campaigns profitable a lot of people don't do this but your focus should be on that ad
and then therefore getting a higher clickthrough rate than anything else you're doing to try to get those campaigns profitable and I say initially because there's going to be a point in which you'll get diminishing returns you've got most of the click the rate increase that you're going to get through split testing of ads and then you can go back to testing your audiences as well why because certain audiences will simply just work or not work based upon your ability to have ad creative that has a certain level of click-through rate and so it makes more
sense to get your clickthrough your ad creative right before you start testing audiences because certain audiences will would have worked if you just had the ad creative right and it's a lot quicker to figure out ad creative that will work than it is to test audiences because there's a lot more audiences and so many Le less variables if you will I know it hard seems hard to believe in terms of getting that ad creative to work right A C have a certain feature or benefit out of your product or service and there's only so many
ways to kind of frame that if you will if you want to know the number one best way to get Sky High click the rates on Facebook nowadays it is purely one thing that is user generated content based ads as people are scrolling down Facebook Newsfeed what their the first filter that they're always going to have that you're going to have to get through as an Advertiser is disguising your ad so that it doesn't look like ad so it gets paid attent and considered before they realize it's an ad because people as they scroll they
say is this an ad or is it this an ad okay it's not an ad I'll I'll actually pay attention to what it says oh it is an ad okay I'm just I'm G to scroll past it so naturally you want your ad to be so effective that the content on there totally bypasses that filter if you will and the best way to do that yes you could have a you know really amazing product gets really amazing results and just pitch that and make it clear that it's an ad and get around that filter pretty
well but not nearly as well as if you just make the ad look like an organic posst our best ads right now are people where we have what looks like a normal everyday Facebook user reviewing the product like a soccer mom works the best by the way let's say it's a you're selling a pot which we did this before pots and pans oh look you can use the product for this and this and just looks like it's from the view of uh Viewpoint of the user in a kitchen being a soccer mom and from an
iPhone so it just looks like they're okay yeah it does this it does this it does this and they're holding the phone in this hand that style of video worked and works extremely well it just crushes it nowadays that's the type of video if you want to bypass all the in terms of figuring out what gets super high clickthrough rates follow that basic formula it's hard not to get a high clickthrough rate when you do this which obviously also by the way works for services if you sell a service at all it's the same way
you sell a service what you want to do is speak on half of the client whether that's a tax service or whatever it is I hired Joe's Tax Service and I actually got $4,000 back on return this year and so it's an ad not you know disguised as an organic post therefore you're going to get a super high consideration rate on your ad where four times or five times as many people are going to see that ad and actually pay attention to what's on it because people are on Facebook to see content like that not
an ad and therefore you get through that initial filter that you know filters out 80% of the people from even considering what you have right from the get-go when you don't do this so to say and then on top of it if you actually put into your ad you know this so-called what looks like a review of your product or service the benefits that the user really really wants you now have an ad that you can get super super high click the rates that is with the tax service which is something we've done before you
put into that ad you know we got five $1,000 XYZ tax return When I hired Joe's Tax Service right the user now thinks they're not looking at an ad so we get to that initial filter I told you about now also they see the benefit which is they want a good return on their uh ta get a good tax return uh return now you disguise them you you've tricked them into considering and and actually having to digest and information you want them to digest and the information is the information they find compelling the better more
shocking the results the better the results you're going to get in terms of Click theough rate so that's the other thing that you want to do the best results you can mention you know even if you don't think that they're going to be believed the bigger the results the better the clickthrough rate result you're going to get and then you have some an ad a delivery device that's going to be very very effective to run on Facebook ads for your for your business the ad just you drive them to a regular landing page hopefully with
a bunch of other reviews on it and that's the package that we're going to use 80% of the time that's going to get us the best results whatever in whatever Market that we're in so if you want to just have clickd rates that you want on easy mode to get into the upper end of the range here that I'm going to share next that's the formula that you want to use so you and and and basically with that you can shoot your own video hire a voiceover actor soccer mom sounding voice on Facebook or on
fyr have that voice over laid over top a video that you make yourself and now you have something that looks like an actual customer made it even though they didn't and you're not saying you're a customer just seems like that as they're watching it they draw their own conclusions of course naturally the best would be to have an actual customer do it so they could say you know I tried this product you know and if you have any questions about it you can ask me I'm John Smith and here's my Facebook page you could try
to go that route even though that's not simply necessary to get most of the results out of the method I just told you anyway with that said what's a good click the rate now the average click the rate is going to be about a percent and a half on Facebook but you should pay no mind to that because the average person on Facebook is too cheap to hire an ad copywriter they don't have any experience running Facebook ads for themselves for the most part they don't track their results so they don't know how bad their
ads are working therefore if you just use even half of your ass in terms of trying to make your ads have a high clickd rate Consulting with people who have written hundreds of Facebook ads and do a little bit of testings to figure out what actually might be the best route to go with your ads even with the information that I gave you maybe try you know male versus female voice which that a lot of times affects the results and go through a little bit of testing instead of just picking one ad and that's the
only ad you ever try you can easily blow past the average person's click the rate of a percent and a half and get into this three four five six even 10% click the rates you can get by doing physically more than the average person's willing to do or pay for the average person doesn't want to hire a copywriter they want to say I make this and I'm never going to pay a copywriter more than this because I'm above them their egos are Sky High as a result they don't make near they don't make the millions
from the Facebook campaign that they make if they just had somebody who knows how to write a Facebook ad inside and out work with them to find the best actual ad person who actually knows how to make ads can make tons of money on their own they don't need your little chicklet money that you're going to pay them because you think a marketing person that doesn't have a doctorates degree in marketing shouldn't be paid very much good marketing person makes as much as you do as the owner and the quicker you realize that the quicker
you're going to get to the ultimate results that you want because they can start their own business if they want they don't need your low-paying job so to say I know might piss some people off but I repeat this all the time on my channel because this is the reality and what people will do is they'll hire a cheap person fail they'll hire enough another cheap person fail hire another person cheap person fail hire another cheap person fail and they never realize what the main thing that's stopping them from getting results which is good people
who really can get good click theough rates on their ads don't work for cheap they think well I'll spend a little bit and if it doesn't work I'm out just a little bit of money and that's like the dumbest way to think about this if you're going to actually take what you're doing seriously a good person's just going to get good results and they know their value you're not going to get lucky find somebody who doesn't know their value with this because doesn't really exist if you're doing a piss poor job with your click the
rates like I said don't know what you're doing refuse to hire anybody who knows what they're doing to help you don't do any testing you'll be at like a0 35% click the rate if you're in between that what the average guy does you should be about a s uh percent click the rate on your ads if your average which I mentioned average is really just using a quarter of your ass in terms of figuring out what gets good click the rates on your ads amateur business owner that plumber who doesn't know anything about advertising that's
your competition 1.4% click the rates now if you do what I told you by minimum you should be able to get closer to a 3% click the rate which is above average results okay in your space now if you go ahead and go through a a a decent amount of testing to test the language in your what you're saying you know the voice over the tone the gender of the person doing it the light whether you use high res or low res or somewhere in the M middle because it's supposed to look like a human
did it so you're going to have low res you're not going to make it look polished despite what most people would think you would do there but there's a lot of these variables that you can test and if you test enough of them naturally you're just going to get higher clicky rates um so if you just test something when something works you try to speculate why it worked and then make three more ads that take that feature and try different variants of that to get another 20% 30% more click through rate and then when you
when when you find out what works there you take elements of what you figured out what works there try three more variants of it and just walk your way up in terms of click the rate you don't have to settle for a you know two and a half to 3% click the rate you could get a five and a half to 6% click through rate which now you're talking about real freaking well results you're in the upper echelon now now you're in the you know the top uh one to two% of people that are advertisers
are advertising on Facebook and then to get to unicorn level results you've got to do you got to have everything maxed out you got to have the best copywriter who's ran thousands of ads who understands inside and out how to tease out the most results on Facebook you got to have a per an ad that on all all levels you figured out how to tease out the most result on it that is lots of testing you did a a user generated content ad like I talked about and you you you spared no expense to make
the ad perfect on all levels then you can get to a 10% plus clickd rate okay it's not easy to do I told you I'd give you an example where we got at least a 10% click du rate with our Facebook ads we had a tax credit uh like a t Tax refiling Service which is a little bit different than what I talked to you about earlier this particular instance since it was where they look at your taxes and they look at a way to be able to save you money on your taxes and get
you a refund and they would actually take only the money from you if they can find you a way to get more back out of your taxes than you had before you can refile your taxes up to a few years in advance and so they would run ads for people that where they would you know offer that refiling service and take you know basically 10 20% of the cut of what they get from you from whatever they get you and save on your taxes therefore you can get as a refund from your taxes okay and
uh we were able to get 10 plus% clickthrough rates there why well it does certainly help in what we're doing and the off what we have to offer is good which is another part of what you need to get 10% plus clickthrough rates but we we tested again and again and again the other ads what we found works the best in that case is a government refund check because that really got users attention the most people see that and they want that and then which is by the way at the end of the day there's
a saying in marketing which is people don't buy drill bits they buy the hole in the wall that the drill bit creates so instead of focusing on what the product is or the service is focus on the end results if somebody wants to lose 30 pounds you say on your ad in other words lose 30 pounds using this method not this product will make you lose lose 30 pounds get the user's attention that way because many times that will be the way in order to get the highest clickd rate so in this case you know
like I mentioned we could have said we have a tax filing service blah blah blah blah blah or we could just say new um tax credit available for people in 2024 which there's not it's a little bit misleading there that it's not really a new tax credit even though new is subjective you know something that's 10 years ago could be considered new depending on who you ask and then from there take them to a page and then start getting into how it's delivered once you've already got their attention you've got them to the landing page
you took them out of the mode of scrolling on the Fe news Facebook Newsfeed and now you can get a 10% click the rate because you thought outside the box and you focused on what the user wants not what you sell okay and take that to the next level if you had the you know learning what I just mentioned here with the tax refund check you know we have somebody hold the tax free refund check and have the picture of their face up above it we say I using this new tax credit got4 $4,795 in
terms of a tax refund from from last year's uh uh taxes due to this new tax credit now we got even better results because it doesn't look like an ad per se even though what we had before didn't look like an ad very much that added even more results to our you know in terms of more click the rate than what what we even had before so that gives you a perfect example of like the scenario where you could get a 10 plus perc click the rate even though in a lot of markets what you
have no matter how you frame it you're not going to be able to really Peg it out to your you guys will legitimately get 10 plus% click through rates uh but you'll get you know five plus percent click the rates pretty predictably if you just go through the me the mo motions that I just gave you uh the typical process that you go through to actually get results that is focusing on what users want in terms of end results focusing on not having an ad that looks like an ad and then combining the two really
to be frank what is it that your product or service delivers that everybody wants and then putting that into an ad that looks like an dependent review of some sort and you will get Sky High clicky rates every single time so if you want the formula that's repeatable that you can just use and walk away from the video with that is the formula itself and of course once you got the ad figured out you will have some clickd rate itself being influenced by the audience that you're targeting so and which if you got a 5%
click the rate you're approaching outstanding category you can get it up to 7even eight% a lot of times by taking the the audience that you're targeting and narrowing that down a little bit given that certain audiences aren't going to respond to the ad at the same rate male versus female old versus young one State versus another state um or more specifically like we've done many times in the past if you have even if you're targeting Nationwide whatever your product or service is like we did in the uh diet program space what we would do is
say you know we would you know of course have that user generated content style ad where it says look at these results that I got but we would say like Boston user got XYZ results and specifically mentioning that the user in Boston for the people that are in Boston why because that always will get more click to rate When you mention the name of the city that the user in specifically then if you just didn't say the name of the city a lot of people don't use that technique and you know that is TurnKey extra
click the rate than you're going to get because you can be more specific in your ads than you were before by understanding who the ad is actually getting in front of male versus female old versus Young you could say you know with the tax credit set Tax Credit Service going back to that example new tax credit that works for older Americans having that show up for 65 plus now we can get even more clickd rate so that's an easy another way that you can get the click theough rate up not so much just testing one
audience versus another you know in terms of clickd rate but like actually sub segmenting your audience itself so you could speak to each segment of the audience that you were targeting in a more refined more targeted way so that's another way to get the click theate up so you combine all those different techniques that I give you if you're not at least able to get yourself above average results you're just doing it completely wrong you didn't listen you didn't you took too many shortcuts to be frank about it you could easily get up to this
outstanding category with a little bit of practice you know you what you pay for a click will be less than less the higher the click the rate gets of course whether you get to 15 cents a click depends on partially the the rate in which it costs to get in front of somebody the more the more wealthy the person you're trying to get in front of on average the more you're going to have to pay per click to get in front of them because they have more disposable income therefore people that Target them can make
more from those people therefore that's bid up the cost per ad you know time that the ad shows for those people is going to be bid up and therefore more expensive to get but regardless of how expensive it is to get in front of the people that you know are the right process ects that you're getting in front of you can always get the cost per click down as low as possible just by doing the you know like the the systems that I mentioned to get your click through right up at the end of the
