if you've been struggling to get views on your Tik Tok videos you probably feel like the algorithm has something against you I know I felt the same way when I first started out but here's the interesting thing the algorithm isn't trying to work against you in fact its sole purpose is to show your videos to people who are most likely to watch and enjoy them Tik Tok uses highly sophisticated machine learning to analyze user behavior and serve up the most relevant content engaging content customized for each individual so if the algorithm is on your side
why are your views still stuck in the gutter well there is really only two core reasons for that number one your videos are engaging enough to hold the person's attention so your average watch time is low number two Tik Tok doesn't know who to show your videos to so they're being pushed to the wrong audience the good news is both of these issues are completely fixable if you understand a few key aspects of how the Tik Tok algorithm Works under the hood first Tik Tok is essentially trying to maximize the amount of time people spend

Niche some people get intimidated by this but I think it's incredibly exciting no matter who you are or how many followers you have focusing on quality over quantity gives you a real shot at massive growth so now that you know the two main ranking factors in the Tik Tok algorithm how can you actually use this information to increase your views and followers let me break it down in a few simple steps that anyone can Implement step one optimize your video for your specific Niche and target audience this might sound obvious but really drilled down into
who your ideal viewer is what are their pain points desires and goals how can you create content that grabs their attention and provides a lot of value the more specific you get the better Tik Tok can match you with the Right audience include relevant keywords in your title description and the actual spoken words in your video as well use on-screen text to highlight important points add engaging hooks in the first few seconds to stop the scroll all these things are going to help Tik Tok categorize your video and push it to people who will love
it another thing to keep in mind is the importance of using trending sounds and participating in popular challenges when you use a sound or a hashtag that's currently going viral on the platform Tik Tok is more likely to show your video to people who've engaged with similar content in the past it's a simple way to piggyback off the momentum of what's already working and get more eyeballs on your videos just make sure you're putting your own unique spin on the trend and not just copying what everyone else is doing the algorithm rewards originality and creativity
you can also increase your chances of reaching the Right audience by collaborating with other creators in your Niche when you do add Stitch or even just comment on someone else's videos their followers are more likely to check out your profile and engage with your content it's a win-win you get exposure to a new audience and the other Creator gets a boost and engagement as well the key is to focus on providing value and building genuine connections not just spamming people with follow forf follow requests take the time to find creators who complement your brand and
whose audiences would be interested in what you have to offer step two keep your videos short and snappy since watch time relative to video length is such an important ranking Factor you'll generally get more views and reach by keeping your videos on the shorter side think 15 to 60 seconds seconds it's a lot easier to get 100% watch time on a 15-second video compared to a 3 minute one pack as much value as you can into that short window of time avoid long intros and get straight to the meat of your content use jump Cuts

share your video with their friends one of my favorite storytelling Frameworks is the hero's journey it's a Timeless structure that's been used in everything from ancient myths to Hollywood Blockbusters the basic idea is that the hero in this case your viewer starts off in their Ordinary World facing a problem or a challenge then they meet a wise Mentor that's you who guides them on a journey of transformation helping them overcome obstacles and ultimately try triumph over their challenge by positioning yourself as the wise mentor and inviting your viewers to join you on your journey you
create a powerful sense of connection and engagement of course not every video needs to be an epic hero's journey but try to incorporate storytelling elements wherever you can even if it's just a simple before and after transformation a relatable antidote from your own life the more you can make your viewers feel like they're part of your story the more they want to stick around and see how it ends step four constantly evaluate your content performance Tik Tok gives you a ton of great data in the analytic section of your creator tools after each video check
to see your average watch time and what would that was compared to other recent post if it's significantly higher or lower than usual try to figure out why did you tell a more compelling story in your video was your hook weaker than normal did you use a trending sound or Hot Topic the more you can learn about your wins and losses the better you're going to be getting at consistently making content that works for your audience but just don't look at the raw numbers pay attention to the demographics of your viewers as well are most
of your viewers male or female what are their ages where are they located all this information can help you refine your content strategy and create videos that are even more tailored to your core audience for example if you notice that most your viewers are females age 18 to 24 you might want to create more content that speaks directly to their interests and experiences you can also use Tik Tok creative center to see what type of videos are trending your Niche and get inspiration for your own content pay attention to the hashtags sounds and formats that
are getting the most engagement and see how you can put your own spin on them the key is to always be experimenting and adapting based on what's working don't be afraid to try new things and take risks because sometimes the videos you least expect to perform well end up being your biggest hits and if something doesn't work don't beat yourself up about it just learn from it and keep on moving forward step number five monitor your follower feedback in addition to the hard data Tik Tok provides pay close attention to the qualitative feedback you get
