hey y'all today we are looking at three instances where Cliff connly debated Muslims Who challenged him who confronted him and tried to get him to fold and he did not so we're going to look at those now and with each clip they are going to get a little bit more intense a little bit more thought-provoking so I'm going to let that clip play out and then I'm going to give my thoughts as we go let's get into it I'm a Muslim y but what we learned about Jesus peace be upon him is that we love
him yes we love all the prophets Moses Abraham and we adore them and we follow them yep learn in the Bible that Jesus used to fall on his face in prayer and we do that five times a day beautiful we learn that Jesus worshiped the one true God and that's who we follow so my question is that as a Muslim who loves and adors and follows the teachings of Jesus will I be punished or go to hell if I don't follow your idea of what Jesus was or what he taught according to Christianity if Muhammad
spoke the truth I'm going to hell cuz I'm a blasphemer I'm wor worshiping Jesus as God so if Muhammad spoke the truth I am going to hell if Jesus spoke the truth that he's God in human form who bled and died on a cross to forgive me and to give me eternal life if Jesus spoke the truth I'm going to heaven because my faith is in him why would I choose to trust Jesus instead of Muhammad because although I have a great deal of respect for Muhammad like one of the Five Pillars give arms to
the poor I obviously respect that I obviously respect the way Muhammad believed that Jesus was born of a virgin lived a sinless life ascended to Heaven he coming back a second time I agree with all of that Muhammad made a crucial mistake he denied the deity of Christ now when was Muhammad born 570 a which means he obviously never met Christ but Matthew Mark Luke and John excuse me Matthew Mark John Peter James met Christ and they all insisted that Christ claimed to be God repeatedly in the Quran it is stated Jesus is not God
he's a good Prophet but he's not God repeatedly in the New Testament it stated Jesus is God in human form now I have a decision to make who am I going to trust a man who lived 500 years after the fact or people who lived during the Life of Christ met him and talked with him sir when it comes to historical knowledge that's a no-brainer for me I will always try and go back and connect with the eyewitnesses to be my primary source of information about any historical person if you think I'm going to trust
the guys who flew planes into the US tro World Trade Center to be my primary source of information about Muhammad you're nuts I think that's bigotry to find out about Muhammad I better have the intellectual honesty to read the Quran and if I use some terrorists as a reason to reject Muhammad I'm a narrow-minded bigot so if you're seriously considering Islam you better read the Quran and all I'm doing is standing here saying if you're really interested about Jesus Christ you owe it to yourself to read the gospels the eyewitness accounts of Jesus and ask
yourself does the evidence point to him being reliable or not does that make sense it does so I first of all I respect you a lot for telling people to read the Quran I 100% agree I used to be a Christian and I finished the Bible I read it myself y I had issues with the deity of Christ itself after reading the Bible because you said that who do we trust Muhammad peace be upon him or Jesus peace be upon him I said that Muhammad first of all did not author the Quran he was a
messenger of the words of God the Quran claims to be the infallible word of God itself whereas the Bible was written by humans themselves as gospels according to math Mark Luth and John whereas the Quran claims to be the word of God itself transferred through prophets and as an oral tradition the Quran isn't even a book the Quran is an oral tradition my friend here has memorized the whole thing cover to cover okay because it's an oral tradition not a book fair enough so the reason why we give preference to the Quran over the Bible
is because first of all it's preserved in its original language that's Arabic yeah whereas Jesus spoke Aramaic he did not speak Greek he did not speak Hebrew he spoke Aramaic so we're learning about Jesus in a language that he didn't even speak first of all this Muslim makes a good point that yeah Jesus spoke Aramaic in the new testament's in Greek so how do we square that but what he's not recognizing here is that the New Testament was written in Greek because that was the common language of the time in the Eastern Mediterranean during the
Roman Empire it's kind of like how English is today Greek was the common trade language for Education communication and so the message of Jesus could get spread very widely across all these different regions so it could reach people besides just those who spoke Aramaic and additionally Greek was already the language being used in the Septuagint by the Jews and it was the widely used Greek translation of the Hebrew Hebrew script rures of the time and the Christians were already familiar with that because a lot of them were Jews from the past that converted over when
they realized that Jesus was the Fulfillment of the Old Testament and this further goes to show that it's not as cut and dry as this Muslim is making it but now he's going to shift his focus and his argument to kind trying to combat Jesus's claims about him being God but it doesn't go so well so let's see how he handles it and also when you read the Bible you see multiple verses where Jesus says when someone came up to him and said oh good teacher he said why do you call me good only the
father is good in another passage he says he says only God is good only God is good but why would he create the distinction between him not being good but saying God is good because the guy said good teacher teacher so he was his teacher at the time no no no no and Jesus says right there time out if you're simply going to acknowledge I'm a teacher don't give me this gibberish that I'm good cuz nobody's good except God but Jesus obviously claimed to be good he obviously claimed to be God but the guy was
not acknowledging it he was denying it good teacher that's why I understand that's your interpretation but there's other passages in where he says do not worship me worship the one who sent me he said the father is where did he say that he does never says don't worship me he says the father is greater than I everything I do is through the will of the father why create that distinction between him and the father if he's claiming equivalency with the father himself because he humbled himself limited himself and passed down the birth canal of a
woman named Mary and he was a human being who was not omnipresent he lived in Palestine and he never visited Austin Texas or the Big Apple or Saudi Arabia so he obviously limited himself as the omnipresent God he limits himself becomes a human being and yeah the father's greater than I everything I do is through the power of the father nothing I do is of my own action so why would he say that if he's not God himself if he doesn't have the power to do all these things then why would he call himself God
the answer that we have is he doesn't he calls himself a prophet a messenger of God and what he teaches I believe what he said I F these objections that the Muslim is throwing up can seem kind of compelling at first glance but on careful reflection if you read the Bible you'll find that it's kind of clear cut and dry the Bible calls Jesus God Jesus calls himself God there's not too much debate about it so I'm going to give you three cut and dry verses that just show this outright the first one being that
the Old Testament calls Jesus God with the same Hebrew word there it's called elgore we see in Jeremiah 32:18 it says Yahweh the mighty great God elgore and then in Isaiah 10:21 talking about Jesus the Mighty God the wonderful counselor it's right there elgore the second one being more popular when Jesus claims to be the same I am that God claimed to Moses in the burning bush God said I am who I am and Jesus said most assuredly I say to you before Abraham was I am the same words in the original language the third
one being and this one's the most compelling I've ever heard let me know in the comments if you know one more compelling but Jesus claimed to be the same first and the last that God claimed in the Old Testament Jesus said do not be afraid I am the first and last I am the living one the same thing there and so when you're faced with this it kind of leaves Muslims in a tough spot because the Quran says that the gospel revealed to Jesus and the Christians is true and so they kind of have two
options they either leave Islam because there's a contradiction or they Sensei that the Bible has been corrupted which you're going to find that this Muslim in the video is about to take that route so let's see how that holds up for him and let's see how Cliff Neal handles it let's get back into it but don't you understand if you stand there and say the krown is the word of God and I stand here and say the new testament's a word of God that's going to get us nowhere because you cannot show the quran's a
word of God the same way I cannot show that the New Testament is a word of God we absolutely can no you cannot yes we can you cannot show that any book is the word of God it's imposs POS are you historic like familiar with the process of mass transmission right how do we know anything happened in the history of the world how do we know the Roman Empire existed it's because everyone says the Roman Empire existed it's called Mass transmission if hundreds of thousands of people are agreeing on the same thing it is taken
as fact historically as a historical principle so hundreds of thousands of people believe the quran's a word of God and hundreds of thousand people believe the Bible's a word of God so what does that tell you it tells us that yes we believe the inel the gospel that was given to Jesus Christ is the word of God however we don't believe it was preserved properly and the Bible we have today is not the Bible that was given to Jesus because he spoke arama and the Bible the oldest Bible we have now is written in Greek
it cannot be the same it's impossible however the Quran given to Muhammad peace be upon Him is in Arabic it's memorized in Arabic he's memorized the whole thing in Arabic good for him good for him I have a chain of narration connecting the Quran I have memorized thean mam revealed guys I'm sorry you're not listening to me we're not making any Headway okay have a great day they should have told everyone about Little Asia what what their Prophet did to her oh yeah I just think that's kind of a relevant thing if you want to
follow what would have happened if I would have pointed out Muhammad's sex habits we' have had a major explosion out here yeah I've done that too many times if you really want to Bear down and bore into the Quran the Hadith and Muhammad's lifestyle especially the way Muhammad treated women my your Muslim friends are going to go nuts if you don't know what they're talking about for a little bit of context Aisha was one of Muhammad's wives he married her when she was very young and they consummated the marriage when she was just 9 years
old and I don't really want to talk about that in this video but I definitely recommend at least looking into that um the Muslims have ways to defend it like it was kind of the cultural norm of the time to consummate marriages with young girls at that age but I digress I just want to focus mainly on this Muslim guy cuz he's very sharp he's making some pretty compelling arguments on the surface but I'd just like to give him some push back and he's saying that the New Testament has been corrupted that we don't have
the original gospels anymore but if you really research like the scholars who dedicate their lives to this like Dr Daniel Wallace I'll throw on screen then you'll find that the New Testament has actually been very accurately preserved over time and I'll throw up a video on screen to learn more about that but just to glaze over this quickly we have an embarrassment of riches he calls it when it's compared to other ancient works it they pale in comparison to the Bible we have so much more and we take those other text as gospel as being
reliable why not take the Bible that being said with all these different manuscripts there are slight variations in some of them we find that there are words misspelled missing words sometimes whole sentences are just completely missing from these manuscripts which can happen but even with all these variations even atheist New Testament scholar Bart Morman has to admit that he said this in his book and I quote essential Christian beliefs are not affected by textual aarian in the manuscript tradition of the New Testament we still have the original gospel that Jesus is God he did die
for our sins and that whoever believes in him will inherit the kingdom of God if they just repent and believe but now we're going to see Cliff debate another Muslim it's very interesting he gives this three philosophical problems with Islam and it's very interesting let's just get into it there are three philosophical reasons that I don't trust Muhammad first point you will notice that the miracle of Christianity is Jesus Christ and you don't have to speak a particular language to hear about Jesus the Miracle of Islam is not a person the Miracle of Islam is
the book the Quran but when you begin to study Islam what you begin to realize is the only way you can truly appreciate the Mir Miracle of Islam is by reading it in Arabic my philosophical problem with that is why all of a sudden when God reveals himself very wonderfully in an open way in Jesus Does He suddenly say the only way to get my clearest Revelation is by learning [Music] Arabic that prophets were sent to all all the nations in the world to spread the word of Islam says that in the Quran and another
thing the Quran is not the word of Muhammad it is the word of God thank you it's the word of God that's right but it was written by Muhammad it was not written by Muhammad who wrote it Muhammad was a literate he didn't know how to write or read who wrote it it was the word of God it was divine word you see it's every single time they're very consistent I appreciate it all right it is the word of God and they're very passionate about it I respect your passion there's no way you can rationally
have a conversation with that the same way if you ask me why do you believe the Bible is a word of God and I look you in the face and I say because it's a word of God rational discourse has broken down this is the second time in this video that we've heard a Muslim make this claim and a problem with it is that they say oh the Bible's not divinely inspired and the Quran was it was revealed from heaven but the Bible literally says in 2 Timothy 3:16 that all scripture is breathed out by
God and so even though the Bible was written by humans it's the Christian belief that the Holy Spirit or what God God LED them to convey this Divine truth in the words on the paper it's not a great point to make in my opinion it just negates each other because they both follow that they're divinely inspired texts let's continue all right my second philosophical problem with Islam is my Muslim friends inform me Matthew Mark Luke and John are inaccurate they're perverted gospel in fact it's been changed they will say right exactly so then obviously the
next question is well where are the unper verted ones unfortunately my Muslim friends cannot produce the unper perverted ones instead what my Muslim friends asked me to believe is that a revelation that Muhammad had 500 years after Jesus which obviously means Muhammad never met Jesus that that book the Quran is a more accurate presentation of their historical Jesus than the gospels written by the eyewitnesses well I'm sorry whenever I want to study an historical person I don't go running to a guy who lived 500 years after the fact I want to go to the eyewitnesses
I'm not going to trust Martin scorsi to be my primary source of information about Jesus Martin scor he never met Jesus 0 did Cil be the mill I'm going to go back to Matthew Mark Luke and John who live in the first century to be my primary source of information about Jesus third point my third philosophical problem with this Islam is my Muslim friends have great respect for Jesus in fact my Muslim friends respect Jesus far more than the typical American does my Muslim friends believe that Jesus was born of a virgin that he ascended
to heaven and that he's coming back a second time well that's far more than the typical American believes about Jesus but my Muslim friends say that although Jesus speaks the absolute truth mam but also speaks absolute truth and the problem is they contradict each other on certain points you cannot have a be absolute true and then B be absolute true if a and b contradict each other cuz that does nothing then but to allow for C to come along claiming C is absolute truth in spite of the fact that c contradicts both b and a
you cannot have an absolute truth contradicted by another absolute truth if you're a Muslim and you want to come bat Cliff's claims about the Bible being reliable here it's very tough once you do your research because there are verses in the Bible that date back so close to Jesus's crucifixion like 1 Corinthians 15: 3:5 it's an early Christian Creed talking about how Jesus Is God he died for our sins and that dates 3 to seven years after the crucifixion and then one of the gospels like the Gospel of Luke says he had close firsthand eyewitness
testimonies that he was able to compile into that book and like cliff said like if you're going to trust Muhammad who lived 500 years after Jesus to give you historically reliable facts about Jesus that's like the same as relying on me to tell you about Christopher Columbus today instead of trusting his crew's firsthand diary entries but now we're going to look at the third and final confrontation this one's the most heated of all of them so let's get into it in the Quran we read Jesus is a good prophet he is not God the problem
is the historical Jesus claimed to be God to be an internal contradiction is on one page it says something on a different page it says something else like the gentleman that left mentioned about the creation creation came about does not contradict itself I agree so it contct the historical evidence that Jesus claimed to be God claimed claimed from what John and Joseph and Mike and whoever that's right man and that's the only thing I that's the only way I can know anything historically history historical knowledge is based on the trustworthiness of eyewitness testimony so then
why take what John and those people said 500 years before what Muhammad came with that's exactly why I trust John cuz he lived with Jesus Muhammad was the dude who never met Jesus John met Jesus listen to Jesus but doesn't it come with time that things like that become more inaccurate jesus' book isn't here Jesus's book is not here yes the gospels of Matthew Mark Luke and John were written in the first century eyewitnesses that's what I want when it comes to historical knowledge the Torah right did Jesus believe in the Torah did Jesus follow
Moses yes Jesus believed the Torah was the word of God very clearly why why do you accept Jesus as a successor of Moses and you don't accept Muhammad as a successor of Jesus because Muhammad contradicted Jesus but you don't have any way to tell whether or not what Jesus came with is the exact same as what Moses came with because the book Moses came with is not the same today as it was at the time can you agree with me on that no that made no sense to me I'm sorry I'm not smart enough to
figure out what you just said there makes no sense to me the reason this isn't making sense to Cliff right now is because he knows that the Old Testament has not been changed and there's three reasons why we know that the biggest one being the Dead Sea Scrolls which is dated from around like 250 to 150 BCE and it has a bunch of the Torah that matches our modern text very closely the second reason is that we have Jewish scribal practices as they were copying the text they were known as the merarites and they were
super meticulous even they'd count every single word and if if there was even one mistake they'd start the whole thing over and the third reason is that even in this text like in the New Testament or early Christian references by like early church fathers they are quoting the Old Testament as reliable Jesus himself quoted Deuteronomy 65 when he says you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your mind and it shows that it was consistent then and it's consistent now so it's just a weird thing
to claim but let's get back into the clip so what makes someone a prophet and not a random great writer what makes someone a prophet is that God inspires them and there's absolutely no way that I can show you who a prophet is if this guy claims to be a prophet I can't just blindly say yes he's a prophet or no he's not a prophet I have to observe how he lives his life I have to listen to what he believes and 500 people for you is good enough for that as long as 500 people
say he's a prophet we're good we're golden no that's your argument I'm not standing here saying anybody's a prophet your argument is follow me to Scientology [Laughter] so again we we'll talk about what makes someone a prophet your definition of a prophet and I'll follow with mine you said a good writer no I didn't but again so so we're Propet is someone who's inspired by God but I can't show you that someone's inspired by God it's impossible so this is something in your own heart I can't show you that a book is inspired by God
and don't you understand that's why it's so hard for you and me to have a intelligent conversation because you just laps into answer your question this is inspired by God this is from God this is from an angel well fine but there's no way you can show that but you just said right now that you can't explain to someone that a book is inspired by God or someone else is inspired by God so why are you here there is absolutely no way that any human being can prove that any book has been inspired by God
then why are you here to tell us to believe in the Bible because I am convinced that to believe in God and to believe in Jesus does not mean you have to first believe that a book is inspired by God so I'm supposed to you cannot blindly believe anything in life and to blindly believe that the Quran or the Bible or any book has been inspired by God is such a leap of faith I I'm not asking anybody to do that okay so can we have the second part of our deal I said I'd explain
to you what a prophet is sure a prophet is someone who comes with something extraordinary that combats everything at the time in proof of his claim so many people came claiming they were prophets and they did things that didn't prove their claim the prophet came Prophet Muhammad first of all we'll start off with Jesus who we both agree with Jesus was born without a father how do you know that Miracle number one how do you know that revealed in the Quran and when he spoke revealed in the crime 500 years after the fact all of
a sudden because some dude says he was born without the father you believe it okay fine you don't believe that Jesus is born without a father you don't believe I can promise you ma'am I'm not going to believe Jesus was born without a father cuz some dude who lived 500 years after Christ writes it in a book look we could sit here and debate which holy books right if any of them are right or anything like that and I could go back and forth with you and try and reason with you give you all the
different evidence on the table for Jesus or for any other God but if you're an atheist or you're a skeptic or you're not a Christian and you're watching this video like there's nothing I'm going to be able to say or anybody in this world can say that is going to convert you to Christianity that is going to get you to believe in God because that's not how this works we can't just intell intellectualize our way into belief in God the Bible says that faith comes from hearing and hearing comes through the word of God so
like for example if you want to become Christian and really examine the claims and find out if it's really true if there is a heaven or hell then you got to go read the Bible because the Bible says that it's the living and active word of God and I don't know I was an atheist 16 months 16 months ago and I didn't believe in Jesus or God or anything like that but it's hard to explain but when I was reading the Bible something was changing inside of me and I knew in my heart for that
it was true eventually as I was reading it after wrestling with it carefully examining the claims I'm a pretty skeptical guy you know I'm not just trying to like buy into some like cult or something like that I mean I wasn't raised Christian or anything like that so I had these like very fundamental scientific ideas placed into my head but when I really examined my own presuppositions I found like wow the Bible's pretty dang reliable I recommend just doing the research yourself look into all this stuff look into the historical reliability of Jesus look into
the stories look at how he lived look at how he died look at what happened afterwards I mean all of his disciples really claimed to believe that Jesus appeared to them after he died and then they would go on to testify to that and die under crucifixion under being stoned to death and human psychology says that people wouldn't die for something that they know to be a lie so it's really hard to explain for example why the disciples would claim that they really did see the r risen Jesus when they had nothing in it for
them and that's just one thing but there's a lot of different stuff just look into it I mean I'm just going to Quick close this video in some prayer because I really want to see you go to heaven and so my Christian belief is that by praying for you and for all the people that it's going to really help bring you to God if you're on the fence Lord King Jesus I pray for everybody watching this video and for myself that you just help to open our eyes to the possibilities of your existence and open
ourselves to the great Mercy that you're trying to give us help us to acknowledge that we are sinners that we fall short we are prideful arrogant greedy we're thieves we blasphemers Liars adulterers we're all these things but you come before us gracefully and you give us away out of our sin you gave us a ticket out of our way to hell just by believing in you and what your son did on the cross that if we just turn away from our current Lifestyles any sort of addictions or sexual morality or anything like that that you
Embrace us and that you make us yours you give us the crown of life and you give us a place in heaven you purchase it for us not because we deserve it but but just because you love us so much and we thank you so much for doing that for us I ask that you put more Christians into the lives of the people watching this video and for me just build us up and lead us in the way that is the truth and the life the one and only king of kings and Lord of lords
Jesus Christ in Jesus name amen if you enjoyed this video you're still wrestling with this and you want to see some evidence for God I'm going to throw up a video on screen right here it's very compelling to me it's that it's not this kind of stuff that led me to God but I really highly recommend it for closing the gap of the leap of faith there with that being said have a great day y'all bye-bye
