YouTube changed my life in 6 weeks and this is how a little over a month and a half ago I made the decision to take the first little step to make my dream life a reality for me part of that dream has always been to Achieve Financial Freedom through online entrepreneurship and generating passive income after leaving my job as a full-time Middle School teacher to go back to school myself I finally thought what better time than right now to step into the best version of myself so I bought a tripod set it up in my
living room and recorded my very first YouTube video since then I feel like I've been on a crash course of introspection and I've learned so much about myself how to achieve success on YouTube and how life-changing that success can actually be and now I want to share everything that I've learned with you so in this video that's exactly what I'm going to do first I'll share three things that I've learned since I started my YouTube Journey then I'll get into all the juicy details about how much my channel has grown how much money I've made
since I've started my YouTube channel and everything I've done to grow my channel over these last 6 weeks and at the end of the video I'll leave with my best advice for anyone who wants to start a YouTube channel of their own but first here are three things that I've learned since starting my YouTube channel one of the first things that I learned when I started this YouTube channel was that nobody really cares what I'm doing and that's actually really comforting before I actually started I was really nervous that my friends and family would judge
me for trying to become a content creator and then failing I quickly realize that most of the people that I know don't really care what I'm doing online everyone's consumed with their own lives and what they have going on just like I'm consumed with mine so this big fear that I had of being judged was really quite dramatic of me I'm literally just a regular person just like anyone else trying to post helpful videos on YouTube and if you're in the same boat that I'm in and you're interested in doing the same thing as me
it's really no big deal and as long as you're making videos with the intention of being helpful you shouldn't be so scared of being judged that's a really stupid thing to judge someone for and chances are no one's going to the second thing that I've learned since starting my YouTube channel is that failing fast is the cure to perfectionism I've always been a huge perfectionist like to to the point where I was actually diagnosed with OCD in my last semester of college I would trap myself in these cyclical patterns where I'd have all these projects
and assignments to do and I wouldn't even want to start them because I was afraid that if I did and I made a mistake those mistakes would confirm my suspicions that I'm not really as smart or as capable as I'd like to think these toxic thoughts have done nothing but slow me down but making YouTube videos is almost like exposure therapy for me I know that there's no such thing as a perfect YouTube video and I know that there's always going to be videos that I'll look back on and think M I could have done
that better or that's really cringey but like I said before nobody really cares about the details of my video half as much as I do and if I do make a video and it completely sucks chances are nobody's going to watch it and that just gives me the opportunity to give it another shot sitting down a couple times a week to make a YouTube video edit it post it and then taking feedback and criticism from people who are watching my videos has helped me accept that literally everything that I'm going to do is going to
be imperfect and the faster that I get those mistakes out of the way the faster I can make higher quality videos and content the faster I fail the faster I succeed and failure is inevitable so I might as well just get it over with shifting my mindset to want to fail fast instead of not want to fail at all is part of the reason why my channel has grown so fast in only 6 weeks I'm not nearly as afraid of failure as I used to be and I'm happy that people see me for who I
really am a person who makes mistakes instead of this ideal version of myself that I used to try to portray I know that one got a little deep but that's probably my biggest takeway away from starting this YouTube channel the third thing that I've learned since starting this YouTube channel is that the algorithm is a myth and you should really just make videos for people around 2 weeks into my YouTube journey I fell down the same rabbit hole that you're probably in right now I watched hours of YouTube videos trying to figure out if it
was worth it to start a YouTube channel and how to help the YouTube algorithm pick up my content and push it out to more potential viewers in doing that I learned that this obsession with the YouTube algorithm was what was holding me and a lot of other potential creators back from reaching our fullest potential I didn't come to YouTube with the intention of making these videos for a bot I don't spend hours researching filming and editing just to make a video to feed it to some machine I came here to make videos for people and
in my experience the best way to get real people to watch your content is to ignore the latest hacks for engagement and just simply make the videos that you yourself would want to watch I stay away from over sensationalizing my titles and my video descriptions and I stick to making honest helpful straightforward video content that I would like to see here on YouTube and although I haven't made a viral video yet I think making the type of content that I do is what has allowed me to grow so much on YouTube in such a short
amount of time so now that I've shared with you the three things that I've learned since starting my YouTube journey I want to take you on a deep dive into my YouTube analytics that way you can see exactly how much I've grown since I've started so I'm going to pull up my YouTube analytics that way you can see them okay so I have my YouTube analytics pulled up and as you can see down here I posted my very first YouTube video on June 12th 2024 and today is July 30th 2024 so it's been almost 50
days since I posted my first video after posting my first video on June 12 the next day I posted two shorts just to experiment with them since I've never posted shorts on YouTube before you can see that after I posted my first two videos I really didn't see a major change in my subscribers so since I posted my first video I've posted 10 more long form videos on my page I saw my first spike in subscribers after posting my third long form video which was a video that I made sharing the strateg that I use
to get my first 100 sales on my Etsy shop just for context if you're new to my channel I make videos talking about the different side hustles that I pursue and that includes this YouTube channel my Etsy shop where I sell digital products and any other random side hustles that kind of peak my interest after I posted my sixth long form video on my page I saw a big spike in my subscriber count and that video was a step-by-step tutorial related to my digital product shop on Etsy after I posted that video I posted five
more videos over the next 2 weeks and I think that's what prev prevented this spike in subscribers from going all the way down to what it was before I posted this step-by-step tutorial so to be exact I posted my very first YouTube video 47 days ago and as of today I have 1,384 subscribers in total across all of my videos my channel has 32.8 th000 views I have 2,200 watchtime hours and as you can see here my most viewed video has 7,000 views and my least viewed video has just over 1,000 so now that you've
seen my analytics and you know exactly how much my channel has grown I want to share exactly what I've done to grow my channel so according to tub.com it takes most new creators about 100 videos before they surpass the 1,000 subscriber Milestone I think that there's two main reasons that I've managed to hit this Milestone about 10 times faster than average and the first reason is that I make content that's helpful and educational so the main purpose of each of my videos is to help people accomplish a very specific goal I'm not really focused on
making videos with the intention of being particularly ENT aining instead most of my videos just center around me taking the knowledge that I've learned from making mistakes in some area of my life or my business and using that knowledge to help other people avoid making the same mistakes that I made by doing this my aim is to help people who watch my videos accomplish their goals faster and I think that makes my content valuable enough for people to want to subscribe even before I really know what I'm doing with all this editing and thumbnail stuff
the second reason I think my channel is growing quickly is because I make honest content I don't overhype my experiences or exaggerate my numbers for the sake of getting my viewers attention I'm not really interested in selling people dreams I'm just here to share my own entrepreneurial journey and hopes that I can connect with other entrepreneurs and make it easier for the next person to get started with their own journey I think the internet is changing in the sense that clickbait isn't really paying off the way that it used to since most of the people
who are watching YouTube videos have been on the internet for quite some time now I think their BS radar is a lot better than it used to be so I think it can really pay off for new creators to come on the platform with honesty and of just trying to make the next crazy video to get a bunch of people's attention because even though you might get a bunch of views you're definitely not going to get subscribers so now that you know exactly what I've done to grow my Channel I want to share exactly how
much money I've made on YouTube since I've started so there's two main ways that YouTubers get paid for their videos the first way that YouTubers get paid is brand deals and sponsorships and the second way that YouTubers get paid is from the ads that you see before during and after the video so first I'll talk about how much I've made from YouTube ads and then I'll talk about how much I've made from YouTube sponsorships so after after almost 50 days into my YouTube Journey I've earned a grand total of $0 from YouTube ads that's because
my channel has not reached the monetization threshold required to start getting paid from the ads that YouTube is showing on my videos so in order to start getting paid from YouTube ads my channel has to reach two different requirements one of those requirements is that I hit 1,000 subscribers and the other requirement is that I hit 4,000 total watch hours so even though my channel has over 1,000 subscribers I'm still about 1,800 watch hours Short of meeting the requirement to get m ized so I haven't been paid for any of my videos in that way
just yet but I'm really hoping that I'm going to reach that watch time requirement within the next couple of weeks before I start school again and once I do if you're interested in seeing how much my channel earns in the first month let me know and I'll make another video about that now as far as brand deals go I bet you're thinking that I'm going to say that I haven't made any money from Brand deals and you're right but you're also kind of wrong even though technically I haven't been paid for any brand deals yet
I'm actually in the process of working with my very first brand on a sponsored video and I'm really really excited about that especially since I started my channel less than 2 months ago I signed a bunch of scary paperwork so I can't tell you exactly how much I'm making from that brand deal but just know that that deal is more than covering my rent for the month and I'm super super stoked about it believe it or not this is actually the second brand that's reached out to me and I think that's because my Niche on
YouTube is super super specific and there's not a ton of competition with other creators making videos in this Niche the first brand that reached out to me had really bad customer reviews and I wasn't interested in trying to trick my audience into using something something just so that way I can make a prettyy penny but I'm really fortunate that this other brand has a program that I've already been using for a while that I really really like so if you're a newer Creator and you're interested in figuring out exactly how I got a brand deal
so fast leave a comment and let me know and I'll make a video going into detail about that so now that you have the rundown of my whole YouTube Journey you know exactly how much I've grown and what I've done to grow my Channel I want to be super real with you and give you my honest advice if you're looking to start a YouTube channel just for a second I want you to ask yourself this question like really actually consider this right now if you're watching this video it's probably because you've come up on a
fork in the road you have two different paths that you can take and each path leads to a different outcome I'm going to tell you these two outcomes and I want you to consider which one of these outcomes hurts more to think about so your first choice is to stay exactly where you are and endure the pain of not changing are you honestly okay with getting older and older and never knowing what your full potential could have been all because you are always too prideful to risk failing out loud is it comfortable in that artificial
box that you put your yourself in do you honestly like it there how does the pain of that outcome feel to think about option number two is that you start a YouTube channel and you're 100% guaranteed to fail and not just once you're going to fail over and over and over in front of everyone some videos that you work really really hard on are going to flop there's going to be people who don't like your content and they're going to be really really loud about it all of the biggest fears that you have that are
holding you back from starting your YouTube channel are 100% true so now that you know these two potential outcomes you need to make a choice is the fear of failure really a good enough reason to never try do you care more about preserving your pride or making progress are you comfortable sitting back and letting life happen to you or do you want to be the force that drives the trajectory of your life because if you start that YouTube channel and you experience that failure over and over and over eventually you're going to experience success and
if you don't start that YouTube channel although you're not experiencing that public failure you'll have to to deal with the reality that you fail to even try either way you're going to fail and if you have that gnawing feeling inside of you that you have a message that you need to share with other people and that message can be shared on a platform like YouTube then hurry up and fail fail as fast as you can because the sooner you fail the sooner you're going to get the results that you actually want and the sooner you'll
be able to live the life that you deserve the worst thing that could possibly happen is that you learn something if you want me to make another video sharing my YouTube earnings once I've been monetized let me know in the comments and I'll make that for you if you like this video and you want to hear more about my different streams of income you can stick around for the video that's going to pop up at the end of this one where I share all my different side hustles and how much money I've made from each
of them and if you want to stick around to see how fast my channel grows and to see more videos where I share my YouTube analytics and revenue then make sure you subscribe so you don't miss my next videos thanks for watching [Music]
