have you ever grown up on a show where adults yell at dancing children JoJo have you learned nothing and then became a child star for children and then dressed up like Kiss to convince people you were an adult now actually dream guest on my podcast oh my gosh I mean honestly let's I think about one of my exes oh [Music] no [ __ ] well you're in the right place I'm trying to grow my hair out so just bear with me through this JoJo siwa is or was a child star on the popular reality TV
show dance moms that aired in the early 2010s she then became a breakout star and had a primarily child audience she got a lot of criticism for still dressing like this well into her late teens and is trying to break out of that by turning the saturation down on all of her outfits dream gas on my pod girl oh and releasing music B girl but this time on her Spotify profile file for adults not kids they are separate pages I get it you can't be a child star for children forever but she's been going viral
for being extremely cringe on the Press tour for her sudden Rebrand and I want to start a new genre of music and they said what do you mean and I said well it's called gaypop and I say sudden because I definitely haven't seen anyone do as many interviews as her during a Rebrand I know other people have said this but I thought it too it's like coming out with a new edgy style doesn't feel as edgy and sudden when you're still twirling around on the red carpet and giving big smiles and acting exactly the same
way as before the Rebrand but with more humping why is she doing that so much please stop that is the most aggressive hump I have ever seen and the fact that she's being an open book during this Rebrand I've never seen someone talk so much about how big their Rebrand is going to be and it's going to be huge and it's going to be edgy and no one's ready for it hey it's not for kids anymore oh warning the following content is not made for children pick your poison if you stick around because it's not
for not for kids making it very clear that we are going from child star to adult artist there's nothing more ballsy than this song I don't care if people like it I don't care if people hate it but I want people to turn their head at it and I want people to notice it and I want people to say oh [ __ ] she did that she's definitely turning heads but maybe not for the reason that was intended she said her biggest Inspirations for this were Miley Cyrus during her can't be Tam era when she
was breaking out of the child star world and Lady Gaga of course Gaga I mean take all the inspiration from Gaga but and I feel like if she really wants to commit to this she's got to do something more drastic than look like Jean Simmons from Kiss like wear a meat dress I don't think I've ever seen her wear a meat dress not even once but I mean Lady Gaga got people talking like it or not you're going to look and JoJo also got people talking with Kesha's eye makeup times 4 so who really came
out on top here yeah anyway back to the gay poop thing I said I want to start a new genre of music and they said what do you mean and I said well it's called Gay poop and they were like what's that I know people have said like well what about Elton John or Haley Kiyoko or Gaga or Prince or literally so literally so many literally so many before her but all I have to say is if you want to be the queen of gaypop you're going to have to end Lil NAX sorry watching the
full context of this clip and many others does actually go on to mention the artists that Inspire her in the space Applause by Lady Gaga it's the on my own Miley Cyrus Can't Be Tamed by Theus Michael Jackson Prince Elton uh Bowie they they are and of course Gaga and I think she was trying to say that she wants to be the biggest icon of gaypop in her generation like she wants to be the Elton John of her generation but said it in the worst way possible that directly contradicts that there's a lot of ons
that have come before you so many Madonna Lady Gaga [ __ ] Michael Jackson there's so many people who have made gay Pop I think I just I I more so want to make it like can you clarify that statement clarify that stat oh God I think I just want to make it more clear that gaypop is a genre if I said to somebody name a gaypop artist they'd go what's gayp but if I said to somebody named a rock artist you would say kiss I think they'd say lady Gaga I think they'd say Chapel
rone they'd say Freddy Mercury Elton John okay that's valid cuz I would too I definitely am not the inventor of gaypop for sure not but I do want to be a piece in making it bigger than it already is okay bring I want to bring more attention to it okay I'm not the Creator but I'm I'm not the president but I might be like the CEO or the like CMO but she also kept saying how the music video was going to be so edgy and hyping it up to be so runchy wanted to create some
sort of animalistic some sort of Beast some sort of [ __ ] up dance that really made people's heads turn and it's just her in a costume violating this poor actress girl has not seen ronie this is like what theater kids think is ronie but I do get it with the dramatic transition from her being on the other end of the boomerang get it cuz Boomerang was one of her songs as a kid star but I understand why she thinks that this is the most dramatic transition in the space but I do appreciate how goofy
the execution has been no one has made in my generation this extreme of a switch and I am the first in the generation it is very scary but someone's got to do it people don't really like how arrogant JoJo is coming off in some of these interviews there never really been an influencer child star turned into musician adult star you know what I mean there's there's never really been this transition there's been similar never someone that was themselves that's making this boom jump transition to also themselves some saying they give off Debbie Ryan interview Vibes
and I completely agree my my one thing was I went into the Disney Channel building and I sat down with the president of Disney Channel and I said I want to make history and that's what this is someone's got to do it I think we need more of it actually because these were so funny and iconic but people are also really picking apart her music in a way that I didn't think I would be defending Twitter and Tik Tok users just discovered how the music industry works and it's driving them insane and also making me
winse at how much misinformation is being spread around and I love spreading misinformation it's one of my favorite hobbies anyway completely unrelated this video is sponsored by rocket money rocket money is the personal finance app that helps you lower subscriptions lower bills and manage your money better I've used several finance apps and Rocket money has been the best easiest to use and most accurate when it comes to automatic categorizing they've helped me stay on top of things by giving me weekly reports on my personal spending especially with budgets you can set last month it told

Gabby Bell to get started for free JoJo released her first adult single called karma where she says naughty things like [ __ ] and she should have never effed around she says effed around not like the actual f word and the choreography is being clowned out of existence she is giving her all and more with these movements people are coming after the choreographer who came up with this little number and other users are doing the dance well to prove that it's not the choreo it's just Jojo and that's a common theme Here the choreographer is
actually known for working with Lady Gaga which explains why I feel like this dance would be perfect for a Lady Gaga music video Gaga always danced weird and I think that's the energy that JoJo is trying to go for here but I'm just not sold on the execution and I'm going to prove it to you right now if you've heard the song Karma sounds like a 2010's hit and that's because it is that's the era in which this song was originally written people are sing JoJo's single Karma and some other songs she played at some
Afterparty or something were both stolen after she had claimed to write both of them karma is an unreleased song and video from 2012 from the artist Brit Smith who released one song in 2012 and left the industry after that the second song choose your fighter is an unreleased song by the artist emiline an artist you might know that has several viral songs both original songs are identical to the JoJo versions of them another crazy another crazy m here's the second [Music] one people are claiming JoJo said that she wrote these songs when she didn't and
under those comments several people ask where did she say that I don't super blame them for asking cuz there are currently a million different interviews that she's done that you can look through but to set the record straight or gay pop it's called gayp JoJo did not write either of these songs and she never said she did and the original singer of karma Brit Smith didn't write it either did you steal it from Brit Smith I did not steal anything there's no such thing as stealing yeah I also don't know who Brit Smith was people
are dogging on her for not knowing who Brit Smith which I find ironic considering neither did we until now because that song never came out why would she know about someone who released one song in 2012 and disappeared from the industry although she unfortunately didn't know who Jean Simmons was when she was cosplaying him but and that's pretty funny I'm getting like a like a sexy Glam Jean Simmons sea creature going on here you know the amount of references that people have told me I look like in this video that I have no clue what
they are is sickening but this is what JoJo actually said and then I got pitched this song Karma and it's the first word is I was a bad girl and I I didn't feel comfortable saying that yet yet I didn't feel comfortable singing that yet but I I told her I said this song is special I want it it's never never going to be my first song and I remember saying that I was like it's never going to be my first song cuz it's too much I was like but yes like I want it and
it'll eventually see the light of day with me it's an old song I was pitched it I loved it was obsessed with it so I I grasped on to it why not that instead of a new song no there's that's a very normal thing JoJo was pitched the song from her label or whoever she loved it connected with it and likely bought it sang it and released it the song was originally produced by Timberland and written by Rock Mafia and Desmond child who ironically helped write some Kiss songs so it's a full circle really maybe
he just really misses that era Miley Cyrus's name is also being thrown around saying that Karma was a scrapped Miley song from back then which first of all wouldn't matter if it was artists do this all the time there's this one Tik Tok compilation of Camila Cabo's demos that eventually got passed on a different artist could all and I always enjoy those and fans liked it as well but the point is Miley passed on this song and the Rumor started because Rock Mafia wrote the song with Miley in mind they pitched it to her and
she passed on it to my knowledge Miley didn't record anything for it but I could be wrong and it got passed on and eventually made its way to Brit Smith and it was going to be her debut single as well and then that never came out but artists write and sell songs all the time we actually recorded Karma six different times I had six sessions on Karma a couple times with different vocal producers so people are also misconstruing her saying she did so many sessions in the studio and worked on the song as her saying
she wrote it also know if you listen to the first version of karma whole different song The Bridge whole different bridge and we were like but what if it kind of had this you know little bit of flow to it the song does sound like a 2010 record it does and that's that was the goal but there was a point in time where it sounded a little too 2010 we reigned in we found the mix of 2024 and 2010 though I can definitely see how this interview can be a bit misleading with how she's phrasing
certain things we did some versions of the song you know we did a version where it was you were a bad girl you did some bad things they were a bad okay that doesn't work we tried all the versions and then nothing was as strong as I was a bad girl it seems like they played around with the lyrics for a bit before deciding to just keep it as is albeit it's a bit concerning that you're in there for that many hours to hit a note that it's clearly out of your range press play eventually
we will get the take keep it on Loop and we just looped and looped that one line for hours until we got the right so I looked up more videos of her singing you're still you're still a [Music] traitor if you are physically turning red in the face for hitting notes you are straight up not singing correctly I'm sorry I'm surprised with the amount of dance and media training she had that they also didn't get her a vocal coach or if they did they should be fired or maybe it's JoJo that doesn't grasp the concepts
but this worried me that song hits the lowest in my range and the highest in my range in every interview it sounds like she just screamed for 4 hours straight right before getting there had to hold this in for 2 years this song is special started off like pretty dream guest on my podcast and it makes me want to literally make her some tea with honey in it please but they need a vocal coach in their ASAP because she is going to blow out her vocal cords I mean my voice literally and physically it blew
it out I have one vocal cord I don't have two ruptured my right vocal cord we don't know when we don't know how like I said I will never ever claim to be a singer but I will claim to be an artist that's fine I guess but then she needs to sing songs that are in her range sorry I had more to say after I recorded all that so here I am I'm making history and that's what this is so it was just funny to me that people were criticizing JoJo for not writing the song
but praising the original singer who also did not write the song though I do understand because when I listened to both versions of karma I actually liked the original one better with Brit Smith and I'm not alone in saying that people loved her version so much that Brit Smith actually released her version of the song one day ago as I'm writing this and it already has 1.4 million streams on Spotify and I think I can actually put into words why I like the Brit Smith version better and I think it's both in vocal performance and
production but when JoJo said she went in so many times to work on this song I don't think she was lying we actually recorded Karma six different times I think Rock Mafia produced this song from the ground up but modeled it exactly after the original version they kind of started over in terms of the instrumental because they are different but exact same [Music] energy I can personally hear Rock mafia's flare on the new version of the song versus timlin's production style so I personally like timlin's interpretation of the song better I'm not a huge fan
of the sirens in the chorus as I hear JoJo screaming and straining her voice which brings me to vocal performance it feels like in terms of dance and vocally JoJo is performing at 100% velocity the entire time we don't slow down around here Brit is really feeling the lyrics and a singing dynamic when I listened to her version I was actually listening to the words but JoJo is just 100% volume the whole time do you think JoJo did a Justice um yeah I think you know it's it's nice to hear different interpretations of it she
knows she cannot [ __ ] on someone half her age but we all know with the second song I want you to listen to a very special ADB it is about one of my exes people also think her saying this song is about my ex means she's saying she wrote the song also no she just copy pasted [Music] it I'm trying to figure out if this recording JoJo is playing is the same exact version as the original like she didn't even record her own voice some of them [ __ ] me like Heaven pleasure make
pain okay my official diagnosis of this song for now of course the song isn't out is that they recorded JoJo's voice over the verses and the chorus but they kept emilene's voice in the chorus to Overlay that as like backing vocals and mixed it in such a way where we can tell that it's obvious that it's not her voice cuz it it looks like they did play around with some of the lyrics so I'm I'm pretty confident that she did record the verses at the very least and I think I can hear her voice a
little bit in the chorus that's just overlaid and mixed in with emiline's vocals of course I'm not sure this is just my opinion I already think her team is not doing a good job because it's her mom's idea probably the song likely got sold to her the original artist emiline said she did not sign off with this song coming out with JoJo but that it's not JoJo's fault so my speculation is that it was sold to someone inter interally or a label or someone messed up and gave the song to Jojo or something of that
nature also apparently emiline deleted the original video of the unreleased song and the pinned comment that I just showed you along with it this definitely seems like she sold the song to the label but she doesn't get a say and who ends up with it because it's not hers anymore this part is just me speculating I don't actually know JoJo siwa blatantly stole this Tik tocker song from 2022 for her new albums and then here's the clip of Jojo siwa stealing the song and then claiming she wrote it about one of her exes about one
of my exes this is the Tik tocker that she stole a song from now I understand most artists have co-writers or ghost writers that they work with all the time but for Jojo sewa to come out and say hey I made this song about one of my exes when the song was made so long ago and you can tell that she had no creative involvement in it is crazy this is what I'm talking about this he's clearly kind of reaching here and repeats it over and over again and now the comments are confused as well
it just feels a bit disingenuous if she now owns the song she can interpret it to what relates to her this song was also unreleased and probably not stolen hopefully you can still argue that JoJo saying that is a bit disingenuous even still but I'm just tired of seeing things be like stretched like this Michael Jackson Prince Elton uh Bowie they are and of course Gaga I take all the inspiration from Gaga but those people for me that were just not afraid Elvis was the first to not be afraid to be different to not be
afraid to be out there to not be afraid to take a risk I mean Freddy M used to wear on stage be like what no but now it's like people are afraid to be different and there's we're all different we're all weird we're all all up and I think that's okay to show that the difference is these people didn't constantly talk about how different and unique they are and how differently they dress the other difference is that most of these icons are known for composing and writing their own music in a way that is unique
to them buying and selling songs is Common Place in the industry but wanting to be a music icon without the talent to do such or working on honing that Talent comes off more arrogant than if you just purchased the songs and dropped them without all these braggadocious interviews I definitely not the inventor of gaypop for sure not but I do want to be a piece in making it bigger than it already is no one has made this dramatic of a change yet no one has made in my generation this extreme of a switch I think
Miley's transition worked because she was in a metaphorical cage the song was about growing up and not something unfavorable like cheating and Miley actually changed Aesthetics to a more grown-up one and there wasn't this whole campaign to build hype around it they let the suddenness and the song speak for itself at least at first Miley was being ripped apart by the media at the time but kids like me were loving it the kids are not liking this so I do wish Jojo and her team took the time to write a new song that was personally
written for Jojo and I think that would have made much more of an impact at least a positive impact JoJo is someone who spent a long time in the industry and could have something new or interesting to say in a song in a song not all these interviews please no more interviews all right I'm a CMO I only really was interested in the music aspect here I like analyzing the music part of these things things because it does bother me when she's doing such a normal thing in the industry and being accused of stealing music
just because people don't like her which I am really not a fan of if you want like a deep dive on jojo herself there are plenty of other really good video essays on it I'll link them Below in the description the way I see it is that there are more valid reasons people have for disliking Jojo and reaching after the new music just really isn't selling it for me and to me is just muddying the Waters of why people dislike her she defended Colleen Ballinger when those ation came out saying well she's nice to me
was 12 when I met her um she's always been nothing but kind to me her family nothing but kind to me the internet can take a lie and run so far with it still a very strange age gap for a friendship they have been friends according to Jojo since she was 12 years old and Colleen was 29 JoJo was also involved in some allegations in her exgirl pop group X OMG pop more like x x OMG because it's an x x OMG apparently there was a lot of psychological abuse coming from Jojo and her mother
and while I do not excuse this Behavior it's clear where she learned it from and I really hope she realizes this down the line you know what when she came here you said you liked her confidence and you liked her personality yeah that's till I had to deal with her you're lucky you get to deal with her there you go backing up a you can still dislike JoJo but with the list of options I really think there are better ones to choose from than claiming she stole music until some more hard proof comes out that
she didn't actually purchase the tracks or something I'm also surprised at the lack of online discourse coming after her mother her mother jeline sewa has been her momager forever and clearly has a lot of control over her life even if she's over 18 now just the mental grasp of having your mother be in charge of you and involved in your life in ways that have me feeling questionable I have been dying my hair since I was like two maybe one and a half you know your hair is getting really dark we're going to need to
lighten this up nothing is off limits when it comes to doing what I think will benefit JoJo all I see is a symptom of being told that you're the main character your whole life I feel sad for your little girl cuz she is going to grow up thinking that she's it and when somebody out in that big bad world makes fun of her she's going to lose it you know in your marketing dance mind JoJo is the most commercial kid here that you will be taking to LA and being in the public eye since you
were literally learning how to talk you just learned how to walk and now you're performing in a room full of adults my question is are we going to be looking back on this in 15 years and have her reveal all this crap that went on behind the scenes that we don't even know about especially with former child stars coming out recently about their terrible experiences and only being able to truly reflect on that now that they're many years removed you're playing at a an adult's game you're in an adult's world and you don't recognize that
you're incapable of being on that level but you are confused and you think that you are and I think it really leads to um stunted personal development there is just so much that we don't know that goes on behind the scenes in the entertainment industry especially involving the blatant mistreatment and abuse of children many times even your own family who supposed to protect you let alone have my entire family rely on me for income and so I told my mom and dad before I came home I was like Hey like the day of me moving
or you moving is kind of coming sooner than we all thought and so then yeah once I once I came home we like I told them I was like by April 1 it's it's it's someone's got someone's got to give I didn't really realize till I was maybe 17 or 18 like oh oh I pay for everything for everyone like but I just wanted to offer both sides of the whatever I didn't mean to leave this off on a a sad note um so anyway music is [Music] crazy Karm a [ __ ] and no
one's ever made the switch like this karma's a [ __ ] yeah yeah my ex said some things about me oh oh my God
