[Music] Hello you guys and welcome or welcome back to a better you. I am your host Fernando Mirez and I'm coming to you on a beautiful Thursday night. It is a full moon and I'm currently viewing the moon as we speak.
She is beauty. She is grace. She is bright.
She is shining. She's reminding me of my power. Guys, hello.
I'm so excited for today's episode because if you clicked on this episode, I'm coming to you with a very specific message. You know, I actually wasn't planning on filming a podcast episode today, but I was feeling very inspired and very called to turn on my camera, to turn on my microphone, and to speak some life into you guys, to speak together, me and you. A little chat, a little chat between me and my friend, which is you guys.
Today, we are going to be doing a little episode on getting back to yourself. And in reality, I don't even want to call it an episode. Think of this as a chat.
Whether you are listening to this in your bedroom, in your earphones, out loud, on speakerphone, maybe you're on a walk, maybe you're on the bus, maybe you just had a little crash out, maybe you're just so joyous and you're on the grass. Wherever you are right now, me and you, we're having a little bestie catchup. I'm channeling love through this episode.
I'm channeling grounding. I'm channeling sister, friend, acquaintance, whatever you want it to be. I'm here for you and I'm here to speak some life into you.
So, I'm assuming you might have clicked on this episode. For one, just because you felt like listening to me. If so, hello.
If two, maybe you're feeling a little bit down, a little bit overwhelmed, a little bit anxious. I don't know about you guys, but recently I've been feeling a little bit scatterbrained. And I think that that is so normal.
I think that that is completely fine. And in fact, I want to say if you have been feeling any of those feelings, you are not alone because I'm feeling like that, too. And I know the people around me are feeling like that, too.
But, you know, today I was walking around with my friend and I just felt like it was such a day to get back into my senses, to get back into feeling like myself. And I think something so meaningful that happened today was that my friend kept saying things to me that was almost acting like a mirror to myself. She was saying things about me that I already knew, but I may have forgotten.
And even just hearing it reflected back to me made me think, "Wait a second, you're right. That is something I do like about myself. " Wait a second, that is something I think about myself.
Wait a second, that is the energy I give off. And for that reason, I felt very inspired because having someone else reflect back to you who you are, reflecting back your power, reflecting back how you move through the world, how you act, the way that your energy is, it is so affirming and it is so empowering and it just reminds you of who you are. And then you feel that rush and that sense of inspiration and that sense of like, okay, I do got this.
I do feel good. I do know where I'm going. And even if I don't know where I'm going, I'm floating and I'm free and I'm here and I'm safe and I'm fine.
And so that in itself got me into this inspired state of feeling like I wanted to have a little chat with you guys to remind you of your own power. Whether you are feeling lost, confused, burnt out, overwhelmed, calm, somber, which is a feeling I've been feeling recently. No matter what you are feeling or even if you are feeling fine and joyous and good and you just want a little bit of an ego boost or I'm not going to say even ego boost, a little bit of a soul boost, a little bit of love coming at you.
Here we are and here we are to talk. So for one, can we just take a deep breath together because I feel like it is something that I need. Are you ready?
I want to give you guys the affirmation that you guys are safe whenever you're listening to this. You are fine. You are worthy.

Let's get back into it. I want to remind you guys that if by any chance you are feeling behind or like you are not working hard enough or you're not achieving all the goals that the people around you are achieving or any of those kind of insecurities that may creep up. I want you guys to know that you are worthy without the need of performance, without the need of external validation, without the need of accomplishing ego-based goals.
That's something that I've recently been thinking a lot about. You are worthy just the way you are in your natural state, in your raw state. And that is really all you need.
I think it is so important to give yourself a pat on the back and to give yourself a deep breath and to allow yourself to exhale and just feel safe in the moment. And honestly, give yourself a little hug. Give your inner child a little hug and just hold yourself for a minute because I feel like sometimes in this fast-paced world, we are just moving like a little hamster wheel.
What is next? Where should I go? What do I need?
And we're constantly like looking outside of us to fill something within. But I think letting go of all that and hugging what's already here and thinking like, I have what I need. I trust that what's coming my way will not pass me.
And I trust that that is enough and that everyone moves at their own pace and that everyone moves at their own timing. and if my time is not right now that it is coming up and also how exciting that your time is coming and that you know one of my favorite quotes that I always see here and there is that you haven't even lived your best days yet. That is something that has been really inspiring me lately and how exciting to feel that there are so many things to look forward to and that in reality you don't really need to stress about the current moment.
We have so much time ahead of us. There's so much to enjoy all around us. And each season of life is bringing us new experiences, new opportunities, new lessons, and new little sense of joy and fulfillment.
Good things are on the way. I feel it for me and you. I'm so positive about that.
And I want to remind you guys of your own power. Whatever it is right now that is your deepest, craziest goal, whatever that may be. Maybe if there's something in your mind and you're kind of going back and forth like, can I do it?
Like, is this really go? Is this goal really for me? Am I dreaming too outside of the box?
Am I I don't know like wishing for something that isn't even real. No, you guys, I need you to dream even crazier than that because it is so possible and it is so real. And whatever that goal is for you or whatever that feeling is for you, that is something that you will have.
And if you can dream it, it's because genuinely that is in one of your realities. I think if you can dream it and you can feel it and you can sense it and it's something that you even want. The universe wouldn't give you those wants without the possibility of those things actually happening.
I've said this in a podcast episode before, but your dreams are not random. Your hopes are not random. Your wishes are not random.
Those internal urges that you have and those dreams that you have were planted in you for a reason. And that is because you genuinely have the tools to get there. Whether it is now or in a few years from now or in a few months from now, those things are totally capable of happening if you set your mind to it and if you truly let yourself believe.
There is no use in limiting yourself to realistic goals. I want you guys to dream so big and dream in ways that you might almost feel shy of or vulnerable saying out loud because they're so crazy when in reality those things are so possible for you. They are so real.
They are so true. And giving yourself permission to feel that joy run through you when you even just think about these things. If there are any negative feelings that you are feeling like shame or anger or sadness or apathy or guilt, any of those feelings, release those.
They do not serve you. And I want you guys whenever you're listening to this to think about some things that you are grateful for in your current life. Whether that is after this episode is done, maybe you write them down in your notes, maybe you write them down on a piece of paper, maybe you go to a little grassy patch and bring a little notebook and a cute little pen.
Write down some things that you are truly grateful for. And write down some things that you are excited about. Whenever I do this, I find that something as little as a coffee cup is what brings me so much joy.
Something as nice as the smell of a book in a cute little bookstore brings me so much excitement. Even something as simple as a bright tulip on the side of the street. Those are the things that make me so grateful and that make me feel so happy to be alive and that make me feel like I'm alive.
Like I'm not just cruising around and living in a dull gray world. But in fact, I'm actually living in a colorful world that is filled with laughter and people and people with different experiences and people with different stories and people with different backgrounds and wisdom. There is so much life all around you if you truly tune in and hear and see and touch the things around you.
With that being said, I want you guys to make a list of the things that you are grateful for. They do not have to be big. They can be things that are literally in the space around you.
Just to give you some right now. I'm currently looking at a green plant that I have that is actually a money plant, which how exciting. I'm bringing abundance into my space, into my vibe with this little green plant.
It is alive. And that beautiful plant that I have, so simple, yet I'm grateful for it. Another thing I'm grateful for is the little jar of dried up petals that I have underneath my TV.
Something as simple and as intentional as a little jar of dried up flowers bringing me joy and gratitude because they're so pretty. They're so delicate. They're so soft, yet they're holding their shape.
They are feminine and they smell so good and they're so cute. And there's no reason for them to be there other than for aesthetics and for I don't know, feeling cute. That is something I'm grateful for.
I'm even grateful to be sitting on the floor of my apartment, my beautiful apartment that I'm thankful to have sitting on this nice little fuzzy rug that brings me warmth. I feel so grateful to be able to speak to you guys, to speak to people all over the world from all different ages, different genders. Right now, as I speak, I'm excited.
I feel like I feel warmth. Honestly, if you just tune into the things around you and feel gratitude and describe them with honestly detail and even using crazy descriptive words to make them feel more rich and more exciting, genuinely, it changes the game. I'm telling you that right now.
An affirmation that I have recently been telling myself is that I am safe and that I can surrender. And it might sound a little bit cheesy or it might sound a little bit corny because you might be asking what are you what are you protecting yourself from? But in reality, I feel like it is just letting yourself be.
You don't need to add anything to make your life better. You don't need to stress yourself out to make your life any better. You don't need to add crazy experiences just to numb yourself out to them.
but rather freeing yourself from all those expectations and remembering that you are safe within yourself. And I feel like if you are struggling with that statement or you don't necessarily feel safe in yourself, I think it is important to remind yourself that you are your own home and that you have the ability to feel good in this vessel and you know what's going to make you feel good. Whether that's drinking a glass of water after this episode or touching the grass outside, letting yourself take in some of that sunlight, going on a nice walk, watching the water go in and out of the ocean, hearing the birds outside, hearing the children laugh, maybe giving yourself like a little massage, lotioning your legs.
Remind yourself that you are in this vessel. You are in this body and that you can treat it with care and that that will reflect so much not only in the way that you show up into this world but how you feel and how your mental health feels. As I said, the other statement that I've been telling myself is that I can surrender.
And by surrender, I mean I can let go of trying to control outcomes. I can let go of expectations I place on myself and that others place on me. I can let go of standards.
I can let go of perfectionism. I can let go of algorithms that control me and chain me to my phone. I can let go of the need to fit in, to impress other people, to mask for other people.
I don't need to do any of that. And I think what we are all trying to reach is freedom and just freess. And so surrendering yourself of all of those limiting things and just letting yourself be.
That is a mantra that I am trying to embody and live by and not just say it but truly embody it. You are your own person and you can make your own decisions and that is enough. I want to remind you guys that you are free to be yourself and that people like you most when you are yourself.
You do not need to cover up for anyone. You do not need to let the world harden you or act adult or act a certain way to feel accepted. The people who will accept you for you are the people that you should have closest to you anyways.
I want to remind you guys because it is something that I really live by. But authenticity is power and letting yourself be free from other people's expectations and allowing yourself to just be yourself is maybe one of the greatest acts of bravery we can say. I really think that your own authenticity is something to be proud of.
And when you can display that shamelessly, not only do you free yourself from feeling constricted, but you allow others to drop their guard, to drop their mask, and we're making it a better place for everybody to just feel more themselves without judgment, and to feel safe to be that version of themselves. I want to remind you guys how powerful it is to be truthful and to be honest and to live your days with honesty because not only will you filter out what is meant for you and what isn't meant for you, but you will attract the things that are truly aligned with you. And that is what we want.
I want you guys to remind yourself of the power that you have. And if you can't remind yourself of that right now, I am telling you, okay, you are worth so much. You've got that internal power within you.
We've all got that light within ourselves. And something that I do when I'm forgetting my power, is I write down all the things I like about myself. I remind myself of the things that I'm good at.
And even if there are things that I don't like about myself, which even then I don't even want to say that because the things that are maybe my flaws or my things that are not maybe my most proudest qualities, I I don't judge myself for that. I accept I accept myself for the way that I am and I'm aware of those things, but I write down the things that I like. I write down the things that I'm good at.
And I don't feel the need to shrink myself down. I don't feel the need to downplay the qualities I like about myself or the things that I'm good at. I own those with pride because I deserve to.
It is my birthright. And I feel like reminding myself of what I'm good at and what I like makes me feel like, oh yeah, I am that girl. I do have those qualities.
I am a good friend. I am a good daughter. I am good at my job.
And those things bring me back to my purpose. And they make me feel aligned and they make me feel like I have my own mission and that I can be excited and I can feel youthful and I can feel fun. I think that is a great exercise for you guys to do if you feel like you're kind of feeling a little bit lost and feeling a little bit like you're forgetting yourself.
I always return to the things that made me feel good when I was younger and the dreams that I had when I was younger, the personality I had when I was younger. before I got older and felt like I needed to mature, one might say, or before I felt like if you're in like a corporate job or like a working job, maybe before you felt like you needed to kind of play the adult role or before you felt the need to kind of assimilate into this job title you may have or maybe if you're in high school or something or however old you are, maybe before you felt the need to conform to what the people around you were doing. Think back to when you were younger, when you were free, when you were fun, when you had no care in the world, and let that version of you guide you now and inspire you now.
I know when I was younger, I had so much audacity. I had so much confidence. I was running around like I owned it.
And honestly, whenever I'm losing my power or whenever I'm forgetting who I am, I'm like, little Fernanda would not be doubting herself right now. Little Fernanda would be running around performing, showing off, and being like, "Look at me. Look at me.
" And again, sometimes when you grow older, you kind of dim that down a little bit. But reminding yourself of that younger version of you can feel so tender and wholesome and exciting. I remember the younger version of me was so creative and I had such a big imagination and I loved making up stories and drawing and getting dirty and I didn't have a care in the world for how I presented.
And at times when I think I care too much about my appearance or the way I look externally or if I care about I don't know looking without flaws, I think back to my younger self and I'm like little Fernando was careless about these things. That was the least that mattered. She was trying to have a good time.
And then I kind of remind myself of what the plot is and like where I'm trying to go and what my purpose is here. So I say this all to just remind you guys that when you are feeling off or when you are feeling lost, think back to the younger version of yourself and what would that version be doing? because that is who we are trying to honor and that is what reminds us of ourselves.
I want to leave this episode short and sweet so that you can listen to it whenever you are feeling off or down. But I want to leave you guys with the message that we are here to spread love genuinely. As corny as it sounds, I want you to move through your days acting out of love.
And when you are making a decision, think and ask yourself, what is exciting for me? What is fun for me? What feels in alignment for me?
That is going to bring you so much more fulfillment than thinking out of fear or thinking out of lack or thinking out of need. We have so much abundance. There is so many resources to go around.
There is so much love to go around. So many people that you have yet to meet, so many experiences that you have yet to have, so much money to go around. And you truly have to believe it.
You truly have to believe that you are lucky and that you deserve good things and that good things are coming your way. And I just want to say that to you right now. If you are forgetting that or you are forgetting your power, I swear to you, there are good things coming.
Whatever you're going through will pass. You will have more laughter coming up. You will have more experiences.
You are lucky. You are capable of the dreams that you have. It's just a matter of time before they happen.
And just to kind of leave it off on a fun note, remind yourself you are cool, you are interesting, you are exciting, you are a good friend, you make a good partner, like you have so much to offer. And anybody who does not see that is not worth your time, is not worth your energy. And I just want to leave you off with a final little note of treat yourself the way you want to be treated.
Hold yourself to a high standard and know that you are always the prize. You deserve all good things. Good things flow to you naturally.
You should take them with ease and thank the universe. And you know, don't feel guilty about all these blessings that you actually have. And look around you because I swear there are so many more blessings than what meets the eye.
And if you can't think of them right away or you can't pinpoint them right away, you just need to look a little bit deeper. And I swear to you, there are so many things around you that are so beautiful, that are so meaningful, and also a reminder, you can create meaning in your life. All you need is a shift in perspective, a positive mind, a positive outlook, good energy, and good intention.
Before we end off this episode, I'm going to repeat some affirmations, and you guys can follow along and say them with me and remember who you are. So, let's get into it starting now. I release the pressure to always know.
I do not need to perform to be worthy. My existence is enough. Even when I feel uncertain, I am still guided.
I don't need a plan right now. I just need presence. I am allowed to hold both power and softness.
My energy is sacred. My attention is currency. I return to myself with grace, not guilt.
The version of me I'm becoming is already within me. My magnetism does not depend on my productivity. I will not abandon myself to be understood.
I am not behind. I am exactly where I'm meant to be. I give myself permission to be exactly as I am right [Music] now.
I forgive myself for being hard on me. I deserve kindness, especially from myself. Okay, you guys, those were the affirmations.
I hope you're feeling positive, uplifted, inspired. I know I am. And seriously, I am channeling my love to you guys, my excitement to you guys.
I believe in you. I love you. And I will talk to you guys soon.
Have a great rest of your day.
