DEINFLUENCING | Home Items You DON'T Need

hi everyone it's Nick welcome welcome back to my channel okay in today's video we are going to be talking about de influencing part three this is where I talk about things that you probably don't need in your home cuz influencing is a huge business and I'm I guess sort of a part of that business and I'm going to give you some insight in tell on the world of influencing and also talk about just the Home decore Products that you don't need for a change let's get to it but first I have to acknowledge I have

moved into my new house I have and the clock isn't up yet but it's coming I just need to get it up it's going to get up this week so you'll see it in one of the future videos but I have moved I'm so excited to be in my new place done with my old apartment it's all cleaned out and done and here I am I also took the opportunity cuz I didn't film for a couple of weeks to grow a beard and let me know what you think of it or don't let me talk

about the beard for a sec do you have like where you like maybe get a new haircut and you're like what are the gals at the office on Monday going to who says gals anymore but I do what are the gals at the office going to think on Monday when I show up with my new haircut well now imagine that the GS at the office are like 100,000 people and there's a comment section it's Anonymous down below and that's my life as usual and as is always the case I am of course not willing to

listen to any constructive feedback on my appearance that is always my long-standing position here on the channel so let's just avoid that but compliments of course are welcome actually there's one YouTube short that came up and I already have some comments let me read you a couple so we have please keep the beard you look great beard suits you okay so so far the feedback is positive and of course we also have OMG yes scruffy daddy work which is my personal favorite so that's going to be the winner as far as I'm concerned so again

those types of comments absolutely welcome that's it so I got a beard and I moved into a new house yeah the beard is now my identity apparently and uh and I'm here now so let's talk about de influencing okay the first de influenced product that you need is like levitating objects specifically like the levitating light bulb I have seen this over Tik Tok because I guess it's kind of interesting and cool in the way that like lava lamps were you know what I mean which I'm sure back now because the jenies love everything quirky and

weird and straight from the 9/ 70s so these things get recycled every 20 years and every youth that's 17 thinks they're cool again but listen the levitating light bulb the difference between what we did in the '90s and the 70s is Amazon that's the big difference Amazon affiliate links which I went into detail in my last de influencing video and I was really surprised I thought like it was a bit inside baseball and I thought you guys might not find the influencing world to be that interesting but actually you guys seem to really like it

so Amazon can we talk about Amazon like this is why crap like this takes off first of all you don't need it because it's not that interesting of a lamp listen I love an interesting lighting plan I'm not even mad at the interesting weird quirky lamps that people are necessarily Shilling all over Amazon but this floating one is super gimmicky it's going to last for about 10 seconds someone's going to say oh that's kind of cute and then they're going to completely forget about it and it's just kind of a stupid light bulb but it's

the tailor made for TI talk you know what I mean cuz it's just weird enough that it makes you click add to cart but it's not actually providing any functional benefit in your home really despite obviously being an exposed bulb just floating on your desk that makes it of any real value and that's why I don't care for it but let's talk about Amazon because I mentioned before cuz I thought this was interesting right like people don't realize how huge Amazon is in the influencing world and I got to be careful with what I say

cuz I don't want to get kicked out of the Amazon program cuz I'm not stupid but I don't mind spilling a little bit of tea here's what I think is kind of interesting I looked at how much money I have made on every affiliate program that I'm a part of okay so think of every time I've mentioned Barrel a CB2 a West DM a Sunday like they all have affiliate programs okay not shy about it some don't like article doesn't Ikea doesn't people think I get paid for all those Ikea videos I do not but

I still love them because I love Ikea but that's fine you know all those little individual programs they don't make as much money as you think but they all kind of pile up and it's significant it's there okay I'm not even an Amazon guy like I start every Amazon video probably with I don't really like Amazon but here we are I think I've done three Amazon videos in 2 and 1/2 years I haven't even done one this year so I'm not an Amazon guy okay I usually do one around Black Friday cuz you're shopping you're

buying stuff for Christmas whatever right so people actually do find it valuable and they click and they click and they watch those videos and I like making them because I usually it's like my Amazon annual Roundup okay but here's what's fascinating I think I actually added up how much money I've made from all of those affiliate programs and it's less money than I have on Amazon Amazon is so huge and so everywhere and everybody buys so much stuff on Amazon that it's crazy how much you can do and I'm not again an Amazon guy if

you have people that every video they're talking about Amazon all the time no shade to them we all we got to make our money somehow right like I get it I'm not trying to save those creators or doing something necessarily irresponsible but I totally understand it I just don't do it because I like some stuff on Amazon but I don't love everything it's just not my content okay but I think people don't realize how much Amazon makes for creators and how if you want to be an influencer it's kind of the route to go there

which is why your chairs and your like everything is from there back to the levitating light bulb this is why stuff like this goes viral because it's kind of quirky kind of weird and that Lincoln bio is really what's paying the bills on platforms like Tik Tok which do not really pay their creators very much at all unless you're like I don't know Addison Ray or something like that like most most creators on Tik Tok yes they do sponsor brand deals and stuff but well maybe they're doing it better than I am because I don't

really make any money on those platforms anyway that's Amazon you make way too much money more than you think I don't please don't kick me out of the program Amazon because I still do like your stuff and I'm not stupid again and I can't tell you numbers for that reason but you know just trust me it's more than everything else combined okay that should give you some idea on why you see so many cheap weird Amazon home decor products on Tik Tok and Instagram okay next de influencing thing you do not need okay is a

DIY frame TV this one bugs me I'm actually not going to talk about Amazon for a second even though we would it be an influencing video without talking about the literally the gorilla in the in the room I have seen so many Tik toks that are like don't waste your money girl on a new Samsung frame TV or like and I'm not again Samsung I bought my TV okay like Samsung has not paid me a penny to say this okay like but here's the thing I'm not saying it's the best massive pixels I'm not saying

it's like 45k I'm not saying whatever it is okay like I'm not saying it's the bestest TV that's ever been out there you know I'm not saying that but the frame TV and there are copycats I just don't know the name of them I think LG has a version I'm sure they all have version I don't care anyway they all have their but it's the technology behind when it's not in use trying to make it look like a piece of art now you may say it does not look like a piece of art great that's

your opinion I have had people and I've said do you know where my TV is and people that do not get this world are like I don't know if you have a TV and they literally think it is a p r you some people not all a lot of people are like they clock it pretty quickly that's fine but some people really don't know that it's a TV because it's the technology behind like making it so that it tries to mimic a piece of art and it's so it's it's more than the little piece of

wood going around the frame okay it's more than that so these DIY frames everybody's like don't waste your money on a frame TV it's stupid you don't need one take any old television and just go and go to Michaels I'm going to get guess get some moldings get some trim glue it around the frame stick it on the wall and look at that you've just created yourself your own frame TV maybe you go to YouTube and I assume constantly stream which isn't good for your television I'm sure a piece of art forever and it's basically

the same thing as the frame it's not the same it bugs me because you're lying cuz you're saying it's the same thing and it's not the same thing so I think again Samsung didn't pay me to say this so maybe there is other technology out there in other televisions that can mimic what the frame TV is trying to do in which case fabulous great good on them right but what bugs me is people thinking they can take some crappy television and then they're just going to go be really disappointed because they're going to go get

all these moldings they're Go Home Depot and they're going to get out their little miter saw they go oh this so you know they paint it gold or whatever a spray paint and they're like look at my frame TV and they're disappointed with the results because it's just not the DIY they thought it was going to be so these ones bug me because there's so many out there that are just they're not going to work and you're deceiving people for views you can go put a frame on it you can do all that just don't

say it's going to be a frame TV okay just like say it's going to be a black box with a cute frame on it because that's exactly what you're creating be honest that's all I'm asking or dare I say just get a regular television if you don't want to get the frame and you got a good TV don't stick a frame around it just stick it on your thing okay it's not that big of a deal okay next de influencing thing you do not need is a cord on the cob side table I picked on

this one because of all the food related Furniture items and there are many I've seen hamburgers I've seen strawberries I've seen whatever listen this has started I did I do a series sometimes I talk rich people Decor that needs to go and rich people don't always have the best taste but they do have big budgets and that often times mean they can spend money on stupid things this being one of them but I feel like the corn on the cob I feel like it's moved through the price ladder you know what I mean like it

kind of was like really designer and probably cost like tens of thousands of dollars for some stupid sculptural corn on the cob thing and then it's moved into Urban Outfitters and now here we are the problem I have with this one is it's stupid no listen if you love it as always go ahead and do it but like design is subjective to a degree but some of it's not and I think food related Furniture fills into the category of objectively stupid and so I'm going to say that this one fits the bill for that reason

so you don't need one you don't need one Whatever side table you've got a thrifted one one on Facebook Marketplace and reason I you know if because if you got a tight budget and you're like what do I do what do I do I need to buy this from Urban Outfitters I love to pick on Urban Outfitters you guys maybe you don't I'm here to give you the confidence to say no to say I see you Corner the cob side table I see that all the other quirky postmodern peeps on Tik Tok have it but

I'm here to empower you to say that's stupid I'm just going to get a regular side table and we're going to work with that okay and then next up on my list and this is not home decor but it's my channel I can do what I want to and that is going to be any Standley cup or standy cup accessory I've had it I've had it I've had it I'm done with it I'm done with the stupid Stanley and I'm done with the tray that is like you've got your little M&M's and you got your

little popcorn and you got your drink in the middle and you're just throwing hamburgers in there like I don't even know what you're doing like you can just use plates and bowls let me say it again you can just use plates and bowls you don't need to attach everything to your ridiculous Hub of a Stanley Cup that has got your whole world your snack station around it is it home decor no should I stay in my Lane no because I don't want to the Stanley Cup is the it well was are we I think we're

over it but you know every few years a water bottle pops up and we're convinced that we have to have it which is so fascinating because it's water it's literally the thing that we as humans all need and yet it becomes wrapped up in these stupid Trends and they are so ridiculous and each one more ridiculous than the next and to be honest with you you know what I don't care I'm I'm rocking a 2017 swell water bottle and I love it and I'm just I'm not I'm not changing it I won't have it I'm

not upgrading I'm done I'm stuck in 2017 like a good Millennial and I'm just going to stop there with my swell and I'm happy with that and I'm just going to you know it fits in my cup holders it goes where I want to go it's leak proof it does the same 24-hour cold thing and that's all I need okay so take your Stanley water bottle it also looks very Tippy it's got a really narrow base and a really wide top and that just doesn't work for me just for a water bottle in general so

I'm also just going to call it its practicality I've never used it I've never had I've never had a sip of them I'm just purely as an uninformed Observer going to say it's not a great water bottle I said it it needed to be said surely everybody's we're done with this okay next up on my list is just going to be the giant wine areas I see you looking at the bottle of alcohol in my background thinking this guy seems like a hypocrite yep we've already been over this I often times will say things on

this channel you have to understand if you're new here welcome I will say things that are absolutely going to contradict things in my own background I do not care I don't I do do what I say not I I do okay that's what I'm saying but here's the thing a bottle of alcohol aside we do need places I think to store wine glasses to store your cocktail glasses just just store your whatevers right like that's fine I like a nice bar cabinet that little one back there she's a cutie and I love my little bar

cabinet not getting rid of it but some of these monstrosities that are out there are ridiculous the absolute cry for help both in terms of wanting everybody to know how much money you have and how much alcohol you drink is going to be the wine stations Under the Staircase or the giant glass boxes that exist as Decor in people's living in dining areas I don't think you drink that much wine I don't think it's an obvious like attempt to show how much wealth you have because you have the ability right front and center so that

everybody that walks into your home can see it these glass cubes these these Apple Apple stores in the center of your living room or dining room filled with wine to just show that you have enough money a to have that much wine store that much wine and to display that much wine I think it's tacky I don't think you need one I think that some of these also you know these little like wine stations and bar stations and things like that sometimes they go really really far listen we all like to entertain alcohol can be

a part of that story that's fine but I think some of these are a little a lot of over the top and that's really my issue with these oh the fridges do you need like a wine fridge can be fine you know we like to chill with the wine fridge a little bit that can be fine but like some of these are absolutely ridiculous and there is also especially if you're tied on space and you're tied on money you do not need again I'm giving you permission you can just store a couple of white wine

bottles in the fridge okay and I know you're like oh but Nick I like to chill my white wine at like the optimal perfect temperature and that is what this wine fridge fine then we can't be friends I've already told you before I'm in my boxed wine era I'm done with the wine snobbery I'm really tired of it so just throw a couple of bottles of wine for emergency purposes in the fridge and then get out the box for everyday use cuz we're keeping it classy around here and then you know what like have a

couple of Reds on the Shelf we don't need to go crazy to buy into this world where wine is just such this Prestige around it and therefore displaying it becomes a sign of wealth and storing so much of it becomes a sign of wealth I'm really tired of it you don't need it you don't need it again I'm just giving you permission you didn't need it but I'm giving it to you you do not need it just pull out a couple of Savi bees that you put in the fridge and that's all you need you

don't really need a whole lot more than that and this by the way also pertains to go to to bar carts you know that where you wheel in your bar cart when your friends come over girl done I'm done I'm done okay that's it for me for today guys me and my beard are going to get going here but comment below on anything else that you see people posting on social media that you don't think that they need and then comment below and let me know and I'm going to link here to my part two
