Before we pray, let's take a moment to listen to God's word, and then we'll pray together. In Luke 17:5-6, the disciples came to Jesus with a heartfelt request: "Lord, increase our faith. " Jesus replied, "If you have faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.
" Take a moment to reflect on that. These were the apostles, men who walked with Jesus, who witnessed His miracles, who sat at His feet and heard divine wisdom directly from the Son of God. Yet, even with all they had seen and heard, they still felt the need to ask for more faith.
If they needed to pray for faith, how much more do you and I need to? Faith is not something you either have or don't have; it's something that grows, something that is stretched, something that is tested through life's trials. Have you ever felt like your faith is too small?
How often do you cry out, "Lord, increase my faith"? When was the last time faith was the first thing on your prayer list? Have you ever found yourself struggling with doubt, whispering, "Lord, help me believe.
Strengthen my faith"? Jesus speaks to this again in Matthew 21:21-22. It says, "Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but you can also say to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and it will happen.
Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. " A mustard seedâthat's all it takes. Jesus isn't asking you for a faith that shakes the heavens overnight; He's asking for a seed, a small unwavering belief that He is who He says He is.
Because even the tiniest seed, when planted in the soil of trust, grows into something unshakable. But let's be honestâfaith is not always easy. Life has a way of testing your trust in God.
There are seasons when prayers seem to go unanswered, when relationships break, when sickness lingers, when fear grips your heart, when sin weighs you down like an anchor. In those moments, faith feels like a battle. It's easy to trust when the sun is shining and the road is clear, but what about when the night is long and the path ahead is filled with uncertainty?
Yet even then, hold on. Even when you feel like you're sinking, trust that Jesus will reach down and rescue you. Even when you feel abandoned, know that He is still near.
Even when life is unfair, faith in Him will keep you standing. Remember Peter? He had the boldness to step out of the boat and walk on water toward Jesus.
But the moment he took his eyes off Christ and focused on the storm, he began to sink. That's what happens when we let fear overshadow faith. But do you know what Jesus did?
He reached out and caught Peter. That's the God we serveâthe one who catches you when you fall, the one who lifts you when you have no strength left, the one who walks with you through the fire, through the flood, through the darkest valleys. So today, if your faith feels small, don't despair.
Plant it, water it with prayer, let it grow, and trust that even in the waiting, even in the struggles, God is working for your good. And when you don't know what else to pray, let this be your cry: "Lord, increase my faith. " Now let's take this moment to pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father, You stand above all things, and You reign with power, power and love from eternity to eternity. You are God, unshaken by time, unmoved by the storms of this world. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Lord, I ask You today: increase my faithâfaith to believe when circumstances seem impossible, faith to trust when my heart feels weak, faith to walk forward even when I cannot see the next step. Strengthen my heart so that I can trust You completely, with no hesitation, no second guessing, no fear overshadowing my belief. Lord, I confess that sometimes I struggle; sometimes doubt creeps in.
Sometimes my mind tries to measure what only You can do. When I try to reason with logic, remind me that You are bigger than probabilities. You are not bound by human limitations.
You spoke, and the universe was formed. You stretched out the heavens like a canvas. What is too hard for You?
Nothing. Your word says, "Have faith in God. " Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, "Be lifted up and thrown into the sea," and does not doubt in their heart but believes that it will happen, it will be done for them.
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Lord, help me believe in Your promisesânot just in the easy moments, but in the painful ones; not just when doors open, but when they remain closed; not just when I see results, but even when the answer is delayed. Give me the grace to have fearless faithâthe kind of faith that remains steady no matter what happens around me, the kind of faith that does not flinch at impossibilities but instead sees them as opportunities for Your power to be revealed.
If my trial is a storm, give me faith to believe You will come from the seas. If my battle is a mountain, give me faith to believe You will move it. If my problem feels like a giant, give me faith to believe You will bring it down.
Let my faith be greater than my fear. Let my trust in. .
. You be stronger than my doubts, Lord. When life disappoints me, when the world turns against me, when my prayers seem unanswered, let the Holy Spirit be my comfort.
May He whisper to my heart and remind me that even when everything else feels unstable, You are my rock, my foundation that never crumbles. Your Word says in Ephesians 6:16, "Take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. " Lord, I know the enemy seeks to shake my confidence in You.
He whispers lies to make me doubt Your love, Your plans, and Your faithfulness. But today, I take up my shield of faith. I stand firm, knowing that no weapon formed against me shall prosper.
I refuse to give in to fear. I reject the lies of the enemy. I silence the voices of doubt, and as I pray for more faith, I ask that You also give me a deep hunger for Your Word, because Romans 10:17 tells me faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the Word of Christ.
Your Word is life; it is the lamp to my feet and the light to my path. When my soul is weary, it revives me. When I am lost, it leads me.
When I am weak, it strengthens me. Lord, draw me deeper into Your presence through the truth of Scripture. Let me be so filled with Your Word that faith rises in me like a flood, washing away every trace of doubt and fear.
Lord, if anything in my life is weakening my faith, remove it. If there are voices of doubt surrounding me, silence them. If my heart is burdened by pain, heal me.
If anything is holding me back from fully trusting You, take it away. I choose to trust You. I choose to walk by faith and not by sight.
I choose to believe that even in the waiting, You are working; even in the silence, You are speaking; even in the delay, Your timing is perfect. No matter what happens, I will put my hope in You, Jesus. I will hold on to Your promises even when I do not understand.
I will fix my eyes on You, the author and finisher of my faith. I will keep walking, keep praying, keep believing, because You are faithful. You are the One who was, who is, and who forever will be.
You are the God who does not fail. You are my refuge, my Defender, my Provider, my Savior. Thank You for loving me so deeply, so completely, so relentlessly.
Strengthen me, Lord, and increase my faith today. Let Your holy presence surround me now and always. In the mighty and victorious name of Jesus Christ, I pray, amen.
If this prayer has touched your heart, please type amen as a sign of faith. I pray that every blessing in this prayer is now upon you in the name of Jesus. And if you need a special prayer, feel free to let us know in the comments; we would be honored to pray for you.
May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
