Rosa Parks was born on the 4th of February 1913 in Tuskegee Alabama parks is often referred to as the mother of the Civil Rights Movement mother of the Freedom Movement and first lady of civil rights on the 1st of December 1955 after a long day at work Rosa boarded a bus and sat on the first row of seats intended for black people by the time the bus reached its third stop all the whites only seats were full Rosa and three other black people were sitting on the front row of the black section of the bus
so the white bus driver stepped back onto the bus to tell Rosa and the three other black people to move back to give their seats to the white people after being asked to move by the white bus driver the other three black people moov further back on the bus to give the white people their seats but Rosa moved to the side and not the back the driver told her that if she did not move back then he would call the police and she told him to do just that so he did Rosa was arrested and
and detained but the following day three of Rosa's friends bailed her out of prison this event became the spark that ignited the civil rights movement in the United States and sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott led by the Montgomery Improvement Association and Martin Luther King Jr Paving the way for desegregation of the city buses Rosa became a spokesperson person for the civil rights movement and she later wrote a book about her experiences Rosa Parks day because of the stand Rosa took she became a great influential civil rights leader and is now celebrated on her birthday all
