to our minds when we die scientists may be closer to answering this question than ever researchers at the University of Southampton have completed the largest study ever on near-death and outof body experiences and the results may have big implications on how we view death a team of scientists led by Sam Pina of the State University of New York at Stony Brook examine the cognitive processes of survivors from a pool of 260 cardiac arest patients during a 4-year observational study nearly 40% of the more than 300 30 survivors surveyed reported some form of awareness during the

time that they were considered clinically dead by responding medical staff all while their hearts were not beating one in five claimed a state of prosaic contentment or peace had fallen upon them while onethird reported some form of subjective time dilation some 133% felt as though they had physically left their bodies nearly 46% of the cardiac arrest patients reported various flashes of memory 46% had memories with seven major cognitive themes fear animals and plants bright light violence and persecution Deja Vu family a full 2% described seeing and hearing actual events related to their resuscitation if memories

weren't blurred by sedation Andor brain injury the team expects that even more of the patients would have reported such experiences near-death experiences occur everywhere in all cultures in every country in religious people and atheists even in children younger than 3 years old it would be wrong to see them as mere Fabrications it looks like people's Consciousness does not annihilate just because they are in the early stages of death it's a medical Paradox to get some insight into this mystery researchers turned to the study of near-death experiences or ndes according to the outof Body Experience Research

Center in Los Angeles more than 8 million Americans have reported near-death experiences which occur when a person is either clinically dead near dead or in a situation where death is likely or expected many people who have had near-death experiences report similar Sensations feeling as though they were floating outside of their bodies moving rapidly through a tunnel towards light or seeing deceased loved ones researchers continually study ndes in an effort to make sense of the biological and neurological processes that may be behind such events some studies claim that nde are just another form of lucid dreaming

different planes a common technique is called astral travel it is the ability to assume the astral or emotional body and travel within it astral travel is said to be limited to the astral plane or emotional plane and does not involve the Soul Many who astral travel also say there is a cord or tether that keeps you connected or bound to the physical in the event you get lost it would be the equivalent of someone deep sea diving with a hose to the surface for air you are limited to how far and how deep you can

or be sent to hell if there is an afterlife and levels of Heaven exist then what is hell can a soul be damned to hell and is there an escape in many mythological folklore and religious Traditions hell is a place of torment and Punishment in an afterlife it is viewed by most abrahamic Traditions as punishment many are ruled by a death God such as nurgle Hades hell enma or the devil religions with a cyclic history often depict a hell as an intermediary period between incarnations typically these Traditions locate hell in another dimension or under the

Earth's surface and often include entrances to Hell from the land of the living punishment in Hell typically corresponds to sins committed during life sometimes these distinctions are specific with damned Souls suffering for each sin but sometimes they are General with condemned Sinners regulated to one or more chamber of Hell or to a level of suffering in Many religious cultures including Christianity and Islam hell is often depicted as fiery and painful inflicting suffering on the guilty despite these common dep itions of hell as a place of fire some other Traditions portray hell as cold Buddhists and
