The Enemy does NOT want you to know this (how to hear God's voice)

so how do you tell the difference between God's voice and your thoughts what does God's voice even sound like how can you truly know the will of God if you're wondering these questions today this video is for you because today I'm going to share with you some practical tips to hear the voice of God connect more with your heavenly father and know Jesus as a friend hi y'all welcome back to my channel my name is Ashley make sure you subscribe for more videos just like this one where I share with you tips on how to

grow your relationship with God and become the person he created you to be all throughout scripture we see that God speaks to his people I've had Seasons where I have felt like I did not know what God was saying to me I just felt so lost and all I wanted was to hear the Lord's voice and then I've had Seasons where I felt like God was speaking in my ear 24/7 and I felt so close to him these are just some of the things that have really helped me get to this place I first just

want to share what God's voice doesn't sound like so God's voice doesn't discourage you it doesn't shame you it doesn't rush you it doesn't confuse you it doesn't frighten you or condemn you and it doesn't worry you or stress you out if you are hearing a voice in your ear that is any of those things that is not God's voice God's voice steals you leads you reassures you and encourages you convicts you and calms you so to start out just think the voices that you've been hearing in your head if they are making you feel

awful they're not from God they're from the pits of hell if they're making you feel any of the ways that I just described that is from God okay but now let's get into some practicals what are some simple ways to hear the voice of God number one pray and ask the Lord to speak to you this is my favorite way to hear God's voice James 1:5 says says if you need Wisdom ask our generous God and he will give it to you he will not rebuke you for asking but when you ask him be sure

that your faith is in God alone do not waver for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord this is such a simple way to hear the voice of God ask him a question do exactly what it says in James 1 so often we go straight on the phone to our mom we go to our best friend we go to a therapist and we are neglecting the mighty counselor it says in

the scriptures that the holy spirit is the great counselor so with that being said the Lord wants to counsel you and he can actually give you better counsel than any that your best friend will say than anything that your mom will say than anything that your therapist will say because he knows exactly what you need to hear and he knows exactly what you need two questions to ask God when you want to hear his voice one what do you want me to know two what do you want me to do so you literally can just

ask God in whatever situation you want to hear his voice and he will give you an answer number two listen to what he says in First Kings 19 through2 it talks about how the Lord speaks in a still small voice a lot of times we ask God questions and we pray in the morning and we like bring all this stuff to the Lord but then we're done and we don't even wait to hear his response it's kind of like if you have a friend this friend goes up to you tells you everything that's going on

in their life everything that they're struggling with right when they're done they just walk away they don't wait to hear what you have to say sometimes we do the same thing with the father I will do this on walks in the shower in the middle of my workday I will just stop I will ask the father what do you want me to do and what do you want me to know and then I have to just listen I heard this in a podcast but it talked about how hearing the voice of God is the free

flow of thoughts that come to your mind when you fix your mind on Jesus and ask him a question how do I know the difference between God's voice and my thoughts how how do I not know if that was my own thoughts well you're not asking yourself you're not saying okay self what do you think you should do here you're literally saying God in prayer God what do you think I should do and what do you want me to know and then when you're asking the father and you're fixing your eyes on Jesus as you

ask him a question expect the spirit of God to answer and to speak to you whether it's through scriptures promptings on your heart whether it's through just gut feelings or visions that you get or song lyrics or you remember moments like the spirit can bring you back to remembrance of things and I just can't wait for you guys to EXP experience this it's just so amazing to actually know that you have a mighty counselor in Jesus who wants to guide you in everything that you do number three believe what he says and step out in

faith so a lot of times God is speaking we are just not believing that it's his voice speaking to us we think it's our own thoughts and that's what the enemy wants us to do because if we think it's our own thoughts we will not ever move in faith we see time and time again that the father speaks to his people in the scriptures God spoke to Moses in a burning bush and he's like you are going to lead my people out of slavery that's what you're going to do he spoke to Noah he said

listen there's a big flood coming and I need you to build an ark to Abraham and he said I know you're comfortable here but I need you to leave where you are and go to a land that I will show you because I'm going to give you so many descendants you're not even going to be able to count them God speaks to his people but what we see in the scriptures is is that when God spoke to his people they obeyed and they stepped out in faith Moses stepped out in faith even though he was

scared to speak because he had a stutter Noah still stepped out in faith and started building that Ark Abraham stepped out in faith when he left ER and he literally went to a place where God was going to show him they believe what he says and they move out in faith faith without works is dead my people if you are hearing the father speak to you and you do not step out in faith that does not honor God you are blatantly being disobedient and I only say that because I have had a reverence for that

in my own life I have seen the consequences of when the fathers told me to do something and I didn't do it and then I blatantly see the consequences of it and I'm like oh I really should have listened because the father knew what was best for me I was just doubting his voice in that moment and you stepping out in faith is pleasing God so much so that even if you got it wrong he is still so pleased with you for stepping out in faith and trying to be obedient to him and in that

he still is going to lead you think about it like you're a GPS you're you're driving and you have your GPS okay you know where you're going you're seeing where you're going you're getting the directions right but then if you accidentally go off on the wrong exit you missed it you missed the turn well the father is so kind that GPS is going to just redirect you back to where you need to go what he wants you to do is listen and step out in faith and as you do that you will end up to

exactly where God wants you to be Number Four come out of agreement with lies now this is very important if you don't take anything away from this video like this is actually the most important thing so many of us are listening to voices in our head that ain't from God voices that are coming from the pits of hell and they are speaking death over your identity over your calling over your future how God has created you to be and you are listening to it and you are just letting it shape how you see yourself and

you are giving the enemy a foothold with listening to the lies that he is telling you and many of you listening to this video might be struggling with so many different lies and so many voices in your head that are telling you that you're not good enough you're not pretty enough that you're not smart enough I want to rebuke that voice and send it to the pits of Hell in the mighty name of Jesus that will not come against you anymore in Jesus name I plead the blood of Jesus over you in this video and

I'm saying that those voices in your head will not Prosper I have had my own battle with listening to voices that are not from God and listening to lies I'm not going to sit here and act like I haven't I am a human being whenever I'm struggling with a lie I turn to the Lord in that moment and I say father what is your truth what do you say about this sometimes you just feel good being in the mud and you're like I just want to stay here I want to feel awful about myself sometimes

it just feels good like I'm going just keep it above but you have to have the courage in that moment to go no if this is shaming me condemning me frightening me if this is making me feel awful about myself this is not for my heavenly dad and I got to just stop right now I got to take this thought and I've got to make it obedient to Christ taking the thoughts off of yourself and fixing your eyes on Jesus and saying Jesus what does your truth say and then step two listening to what he

says he'll say my daughter you're beautiful my daughter you're enough my daughter you have a future so I'm listening to the father just speaking life over me this is what's so important is you you have to then turn towards that truth and believe in what he says over the lies this is confession and repentance in a nutshell confession is being honest with God when you're feeling like dooo about yourself and you're listening to those lies it is a moment for you to say to God the honest truth and say God I feel awful about my

body today I literally don't know who my friends are am I going to be single forever you just bring it to him it's not maybe you know lined up with what the word of God says quite yet but you're being honest with your dad and he wants you to be honest because he already knows what's going on and he's just like you're being fake like you're literally being fake to the Lord by not actually being honest with him repentance is hearing what God's truth is and listening to what God says back to you that will

change your thinking on the situation and help you walk in a new way of life transformation you're going to be honest with him you're going to ask him what his truth is and then you have to listen into it that's actually going to change your thinking on that situation or on the LIE that you were believing and then you turn and you walk in the new way and in walking in that new way you are being transformed in how you think about yourself how you think about life and how you do stuff lie comes ask

the father what is your truth the truth comes and then you get to decide step forward walk into that truth and your mind is being renewed on that situation and as your mind is being renewed you are actually being transformed From the Inside Out it starts in our minds fam so that's why the enemy attacks your mind because if he can attack your mind he is attacking that life transformation that the father wants to bring in your life reading the word of God every day has transformed my life and that brings me to number five

get in the word that means the Bible the Lord will never tell you something that contradicts with his word you want to hear the voice of God you need to get into the word of God doing this every day in the morning every single day I have done this for 5 years now that's crazy I've been in the word of God for 5 years and it has completely transformed me from the inside out I was such a lukewarm Christian I could cry for years for four years I was a lukewarm Christian go to church but

I wouldn't feel the presence of God because I didn't really feel close to him I was sleeping with my boyfriend I was going and getting drunk on the weekends I was living such a lukewarm lifestyle because I wasn't really all in but the moment that I stepped two feet in to following Jesus and I started reading the Bible every single day that is what transformed me the girl that was so anxious depressed didn't have any selfworth was feeling completely empty to a girl who is on fire for the Lord and is feeling close to the

Lord every single day and is a friend of God what changed me was not telling myself you just need to be better you just need to stop drinking you just need to stop finding your affirmation and how guys see you no what changed me was the word of God when you read the word of God every single day you are basically giving the Lord an entire reservoir of Truth to bring to you when you need it the most so many of us are in battles we're out in a battlefield without any ammo it says in

Ephesians 6 that the word of God are sword every other thing in the armor of God that it says in Ephesians 6 is on the defense you know the helmet the breastplate the shoes of peace it's all like a defense but the only offensive weapon that we have is the sword of the spirit which is the word of God you can just say the word of God out loud imagine as a sword and you're like slashing the enemy and you're like fighting back but so many of y'all you're out and you're getting physically demolished by

the enemy because you ain't got no ammo and you have no armor getting in the word of God you have no idea how much it is equipping you for one knowing God's voice being transformed in the renewing of your mind fighting off the enemy schemes and when you speak the word of God over him you are literally such a baddie for the Lord okay if you are wanting some tips on how to read the Bible every single day I have a Bible study community and I have a Bible study reading plan in my community the

tree with hundreds of girls from all around the world who are reading the Bible every single day together many of us don't have God's guidance in our lives because we're not willing to give up our own understanding of of what we want Proverbs 35-6 says trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight so we have to let go of our own motives and what we want him to say so we can truly hear his voice how

can you know the will of God one knowing from the scripture Proverbs 35-6 we decide to put our trust in the Lord I ain't going to rely on my own understanding I'm going to put all of my trust in the father right now he knows what's better better for me than what I know is better for me two decide to not trust in our own understanding but give priority to what God says we just humble ourselves and we say you know what I don't know what's best God you know what's best and I'm going to

listen to what you say over what I want and number three decide to acknowledge and honor God in what he says and in what we do so when the Lord speaks even if it's not what you want to hear I'm sure in scripture we see many times that it was not what that person wanted to here and they followed him in faith and they obeyed and the father blessed them because of their obedience the father will bless you when you deny what you want and you deny your flesh and you deny your understanding and you

trust him and I know that what the father might be telling you right now is maybe confusing for you or it doesn't make sense it sure as heck did not make sense when the Lord told me to move to Los Angeles I still don't really know what I'm doing here he told me to go so it's on us to move and I want us to live for that well done when we get to heaven for the Lord to say you know what I told you to move in faith I told you to step out I

told you to to leave that land with your family when nothing made sense to leave that relationship even though it was all that you knew God is going to tell you well done you trusted me and I'm so proud of you thank you come and enter your Master's happiness I'm crying because this is what we need to live for we need to live for a well done if you made it to this point in the video comment a Cherry Emoji I don't know that was just on my heart also let me know in the comments
