Video Transcript:
Six indicators that you will ascend to heaven after death. Watch this before it's too late! If you took your final breath today, would you know beyond any doubt where you would spend eternity?
Would you hear the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:23), or would you instead hear something far more alarming: "Depart from me, I never knew you" (Matthew 7:23)? I realize this is profound, but it is a question we cannot afford to ignore. Heaven is real, and so is hell.
Whether we like it or not, each of us is destined for one of these two eternal abodes. Yet here is the promising news: The Bible provides clear, potent, and indisputable signs that indicate whether we are genuinely on the path to heaven. Today, we will explore six of these signs.
By the conclusion of this message, you will no longer need to wonder, "Am I truly saved? Will I go to heaven? " because we are heading directly to God's Word for the answer.
And let me be clear: this is not about opinions, traditions, or comforting ideas; it is about what the Bible actually declares. So if you are prepared to discover your standing with God and understand what you must do to be absolutely certain of your salvation, stay with me. This might be the most crucial message you will ever encounter.
Why does this matter? The reality of eternity. Before delving into the six signs, let's be honest: eternity is not a game.
The Bible states in Hebrews 9:27, "It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment. " This means there is no reincarnation, no second chances after death, no do-overs. The decisions we make right now, while we are still breathing, determine where we will spend eternity.
I know some of you might be thinking, "But isn't everyone destined for heaven as long as I am a good person? God will admit me, right? " Listen closely: this is one of the greatest deceptions Satan wants you to accept.
Jesus himself declared in Matthew 7:13 that the narrow gate leads to life, to heaven, and only a few find it, whereas the broad road leads to destruction, to hell, and many enter it. This signifies that not everyone will go to heaven. In fact, according to Jesus, more people will end up in hell than in heaven.
Let that sink in for a moment. Now, don't misunderstand me. I am not here to frighten you; I am here to speak the truth because I care about your soul, and God cares about it even more.
That is why he ensured we received unmistakable signs—warning signs and confirmation signs—so that we would never have to wonder where we stand with him. Today, we will examine six biblical signs that demonstrate you are on the path to heaven. And listen: if you do not yet see all of these signs in your life, do not panic.
God is still at work in you. The goal here is not to make you doubt your salvation but to help you assess your heart and draw nearer to Jesus. So, are you ready?
Let's begin with the first sign. Sign One: You have genuinely received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Let us begin with the most critical sign: your relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Bible declares it unequivocally in John 14:6, where Jesus proclaims, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. " This means there is no alternative route to heaven—not by merely being a good person, not by attending church every Sunday, not by donating to charity, nor by adhering to religious traditions.
Only through Jesus can one gain access. So let me ask you: have you truly received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? I am not inquiring merely whether you believe in God, nor am I asking if you accept that Jesus existed; after all, even demons believe that (James 2:19).
The real question is: have you surrendered your life to him? What does genuine salvation look like? Many people assume they are Christians simply because they were raised in a Christian household, were baptized as infants, or attend church on special occasions.
But salvation is not defined by your background; it is defined by your heart. The Bible teaches in Romans 10:9 that "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. " It is not merely about uttering a prayer; it is about sincerely believing in Jesus and yielding your life to him.
This entails repenting of your sins—not merely feeling remorse, but turning away from sin and choosing to follow Jesus. You place your trust solely in Jesus for your salvation. You acknowledge that you cannot save yourself and rely entirely on his sacrifice on the cross.
You have declared Jesus as the Lord of your life, meaning that he's not just a part of your life; he is your life. If you have truly accepted Jesus, this is your greatest assurance of going to heaven, for Jesus himself stated in John 10:28, "I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. " False conversions versus genuine faith.
But here is the warning: not everyone who calls themselves a Christian is truly saved. Jesus delivered one of the most sobering warnings in Matthew 7:21-23: "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day, many will proclaim, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, cast out demons in your name, and perform many mighty works in your name?
' And then I will. . .
"Declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness. ' These are people who believe they were saved. They even perform deeds in Jesus' name; yet Jesus tells them, 'I never knew you.
' Why? Because they had religion without a genuine relationship. They went through the motions, perhaps attending church, maybe doing good deeds, but they never truly surrendered their hearts to Jesus.
So, ask yourselves: Do I truly know Jesus, or do I merely know about Him? If your faith is genuine, you can be confident that you are on the road to heaven. But if you are uncertain, now is the time to set things right with God.
Sign Two: You exhibit the fruits of the Holy Spirit. If you have genuinely accepted Jesus, evidence will manifest in your life. In Matthew 7:16, Jesus states, 'You will recognize them by their fruits.
' What does that imply? It means that just as a healthy tree yields good fruit, a true Christian will produce spiritual fruit. And what kind of fruit are we discussing?
Galatians 5:22-23 teaches that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Let's all make that sign in the chat: Against such things there is no law. These are the natural outcomes of a life transformed by the Holy Spirit.
Let us break them down. Love: Do you genuinely care for others even when it is difficult? Do you forgive, or do you harbor grudges?
Joy: Is your joy contingent upon circumstances, or do you possess a deep, enduring joy in Christ? Peace: Do you trust in God during challenging times, or do you remain in constant worry and fear? And so forth.
Good works do not save you; rather, they reveal your faith. Now, let us be clear: we are not saved by works. Ephesians 2:8-9 states, 'For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
' You don't earn your way to heaven by being a good person. Salvation is a gift from God. But here's the thing: if you're truly saved, your life will reflect it.
James 2:17 says, 'So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. ' In other words, true faith produces action. If you claim to be a Christian, but there's no evidence, no change, no fruit, no desire to live for God, then you need to ask yourself, 'Is my faith real?
' Signs of true spiritual growth are evident. Nobody becomes perfect overnight. We all struggle and fall short.
But here's the key: Are you growing? Do you desire to become more like Jesus? Do you feel convicted when you sin?
Are you becoming more patient, loving, and Christlike over time? That's what spiritual fruit looks like. So ask yourself: Do I see the fruits of the Holy Spirit in my life, or am I living the same way I did before I claimed to follow Jesus?
If the Holy Spirit is truly in you, He will change you. If you're seeing transformation, that's an amazing sign you're on the path to heaven. Now let's move on to the third sign.
Sign Three: You obey God's commandments with joy. Many people claim to love God, but their actions tell a different story. The Bible is very clear: if you truly love Jesus, you will obey Him.
John 14:15 says, 'If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. ' Notice what Jesus didn't say. He didn't say, 'If you love Me, you'll think about keeping My commandments,' or 'If you love Me, you'll obey when it's convenient.
' No, He said, 'If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. ' In other words, obedience isn't optional for a true Christian; it's a natural response to salvation. Let's be clear: we are not saved by obeying God.
Salvation is by grace through faith, not by works (Ephesians 2:8-9). But here's the thing: when you're truly saved, obedience follows naturally. Think of it this way: When you truly love someone, you don't obey them out of fear or obligation; you obey them because you want to please them.
It's the same with God. If you truly love Him, you will desire to do what pleases Him. 1 John 2:3-4 says, 'And by this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.
Whoever says, 'I know Him,' but does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him. ' That's a strong statement. The Bible is saying that if someone claims to know God but doesn't obey Him, they're lying.
It's not legalism but love. Now let's make an important distinction. Obedience is not about following a list of rules just to avoid punishment; that's legalism.
Legalism is when people try to earn God's approval by following rules, but true obedience comes from love and gratitude for what Jesus has done for us. Jesus said in Matthew 22:37-40 that the greatest commandments are to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and to love your neighbor as yourself. If we truly love God, we will naturally want to follow His ways, not because we have to, but because we want to.
Do you obey God when no one is watching? Here's an important test: Do you only obey God when others are watching, or do you live in obedience even when no one else will ever know? True obedience happens in private—in the choices you make when no one is looking, in how you treat people when you get nothing in return, in the way you live your life when no one is there to applaud you.
So ask yourself: Do I obey God because I love Him, or just because I feel. . .
" Like I have to: am I growing, going in obedience even when it's difficult? Do I follow God's commands even when no one else sees? If your answer is yes, that's a powerful sign that you're walking the path to heaven.
Now let's move on to the next sign: sign four. You love others deeply and selflessly. This one is huge!
The Bible makes it very clear: if you do not love others, you do not truly know God. 1 John 4:7-8 says, "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God because God is love.
" Did you catch that? If you don't love, you don't know God. It's that serious.
Love is the greatest commandment. When Jesus was asked what the most important commandment was, he said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. This is the great and first commandment.
And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself" (Matthew 22:37-39). That means love isn't just an option; it's the foundation of everything. What does true Christian love look like?
Many people think love is just about being nice, but biblical love is deeper than that. According to 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, love is patient. Are you patient with difficult people, or do you get irritated easily?
Love is kind. Do you treat others with kindness even when they don't deserve it? Love is not jealous or boastful.
Do you celebrate others' successes, or do you get jealous? Love is not proud or rude. Do you act humbly, or do you always try to prove yourself?
Love is not selfish. Do you put others before yourself? Love is not easily angered.
Do you hold grudges, or do you forgive quickly? Love keeps no record of wrongs. Do you let go of past hurts, or do you hold on to bitterness?
Do you love even when it's hard? Jesus said in Luke 6:27-28, "But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. " Loving people who love you back is easy, but Jesus commands us to love even our enemies.
That means forgiving the person who hurt you, being kind to people who are rude to you, and praying for those who mistreat you. That's the kind of love that proves you are truly a follower of Christ. Love is evidence of salvation.
Jesus said in John 13:35, "By this all people will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another. " If the Holy Spirit is in you, he will change the way you love others. So ask yourself: Do I love others selflessly, or do I only love when it benefits me?
Do I hold grudges, or do I forgive as Christ forgave me? Do I show love to difficult people or only to those who treat me well? If you see this kind of love growing in your life, that's an incredible sign that you're on the path to heaven.
Sign five: you experience trials and persecution for Christ. Let's be honest: following Jesus isn't always easy. In fact, the Bible tells us that true believers will face trials, suffering, and even persecution.
2 Timothy 3:12 says, "Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. " Did you catch that? Not some, but all who follow Christ will face opposition.
If your faith is real, you will experience challenges for your beliefs. Trials are a test of true faith. When hardships come, they reveal the strength of your faith.
Jesus spoke about this in the parable of the sower in Matthew 13:20-21: "As for what was sown on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy. Yet he has no root in himself but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away. " Some people claim to be Christians, but when life gets tough, when things don't go as planned, or when they face pressure for their faith, they fall away.
However, a true believer stands firm even in the face of suffering. Why does God allow trials? If God loves us, why does he let us go through hard times?
The Bible provides a clear answer in James 1:2-4: "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness, and let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. " God allows trials because they strengthen our faith. We learn to trust him more, refine our character, and grow in patience, humility, and endurance.
Trials draw us closer to Christ as we rely on him, not ourselves. They reveal who truly belongs to him, as those who endure prove their faith is real. Are you willing to suffer for Christ?
Jesus said in Matthew 5:10-12, "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven.
" This means if people mock you, reject you, or criticize you for your faith, you are blessed. Have you ever been ridiculed for your beliefs? Have you lost friends or relationships because of your commitment to Christ?
Have you faced hardships but remained faithful to God? If so, that is a strong sign that you are walking the path to heaven. True Christians don't give up on Jesus when life gets tough.
They. . .
Hold on even tighter, Sign Six! You have an unshakable hope in heaven. A true follower of Christ doesn't live for this world; their heart is set on eternity.
Philippians 3:20 says, "But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. " If you are truly saved, your focus isn't just on the things of this life; you long for heaven. Are you living for earth or eternity?
The Bible warns us in 1 John 2:15: "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.
And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. " This doesn't mean we can't enjoy life, but it does mean that a true Christian doesn't make this world their priority. Instead of chasing money, fame, and success, they invest in things that last forever, such as their relationship with God, spreading the gospel, and serving others.
Do you long for heaven? A real sign of salvation is eagerly looking forward to being with Jesus. Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:8, "We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
" This means when you truly know Christ, you don't fear death; you know it's just the beginning of eternity with Him. So ask yourself: Do you long for heaven, or are you too attached to this world? Do you prioritize eternal things, or do you live for temporary pleasures?
Do you see yourself as a visitor on earth, or is this world your home? A true Christian knows their real home is not here; it's in heaven. **Conclusion:** Where do you stand right now?
Take a moment and be honest with yourself. If you were to stand before God today, would you be ready? This isn't about fear; it's about truth.
Eternity is real, and where you spend it depends on your relationship with Jesus Christ. Maybe, as you've been listening, you feel a tug in your heart. Maybe you realize you've been living for yourself instead of for God.
Perhaps you've called yourself a Christian, but deep down, you know you haven't truly surrendered to Jesus. If that's you, this is your moment. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 6:2, "Now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
" God isn't waiting for you to get your life together before you come to Him; He's calling you right now, just as you are. His grace is greater than your past, His love is deeper than your failures, and His arms are open wide. If you're not 100% sure of your salvation, don't wait another second.
Turn to Jesus today. Pray this from your heart: "Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose again.
I ask for Your forgiveness and surrender my life to You completely. Be my Lord, my Savior, and my greatest desire. From this moment on, I choose to follow You.
Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name, amen. " If you just prayed with sincerity, this is the beginning of a new life with Christ.
Heaven is now your home, and God is with you every step of the way. Now, grow in your faith; read the Bible, pray daily, and surround yourself with believers who will encourage you. And don't keep this message to yourself—share it with someone who needs to hear it.
Jesus is coming back, and eternity is at stake. The question is, are you ready?
