today I want to talk about something I've been obsessed with for so long and it's the dynamic between our content and our personality specifically how finding your personality content fit is crucial not only just for success as a Creator but also for your happiness and sustainability and so why is it so important well when we create content that aligns with like who we truly are I think you bring the best out of yourself um and that authenticity kind of really shines through and resonates of your audience people are crying out for that at the moment
um and they can kind of tell you know when it's a little bit fake or Too Fake and that just kind of has a negative impact on your content however the problem here where many creators including myself have have struggled and gone wrong is when you start creating content um you're often your true self but then you realize that being yourself might not actually get the views and engagement that you're aiming for so you start to like extend your personality like your on camera Persona this is like an extension of yourself like a different version
and this extension can vary some people stretch significantly far from who they are adopting personas that are like entirely kind of different um like really acting and others make like Minor Adjustments the real challenge is whether you're happy showing up on camera as this extension of yourself that's not entirely you because in my opinion if you extend too far or in a direction that you can't sustain um it often leads to kind of burnout and dissatisfaction with the content that you're creating and who you're being on camera I have experienced this um when I created
war zone content I felt like I had to be upbeat and entertaining because that's what my audience wanted um but the problem is is that I'm not an upbeat person I'm not that enthusiastic I won't shout your name out when you come into the chat um and I hated having to do that I hated having to continue to show up and show up and do that and be this extension of myself with this energy um that required me to be somebody that I just didn't want to be and it just wasn't sustainable and I burned
out and so what is the solution here well you know I think it's about experimenting with different styles different niches and energy levels to fill what's authentic and sustainable to you um I think it's challenging when you look across like what sort of kind of type of content you create I mean you're either like education entertainment or inspiration you can maybe do all three um but it's hard you know and you need to think like which one of those do you think you're most suited to um and and and I think that's when you really
begin to start making progress towards finding your like perfect content personality fit um and then you get kind of the best results and you're the happiest however like at the start I don't think there's any wrong with like amplifying certain aspects of your self like you want to speak um in a certain way that is appropriate for the content you create on your audience um it's okay to put on a bit of a show uh most creators do it as I said you know there's different levels of doing it but you have to ensure that
it's like a version of yourself that you think you're going to be comfortable with and sustain over time um in my journey I've experimented with you know different formats to Showcase various sides of my personality um in my short form content my style is very like quick efficient little bit of energy not too much um a little bit of entertainment um and it's efficient and it suits kind of the platform and audiences needs I think you know in my long form these I'm a bit more inspirational the tone the way I speak the purpose the
depth I put music on the bottom light piano to enhance everything create the mood um then there's my live streaming where I'm completely unfiltered that's where I can be I guess the truest version of myself online I don't hold back I literally say anything and everything I don't give a what people think about me um sometimes people think I'm a bit rude because I'm very stubborn and and just straight to the point I don't like play those games anymore where I used to like you know pretty things up for people and make people want to
like me someone asks me a question I give them the straight up answer some people like it some people don't some people want me to be oh no good good job job you're doing really well like no you need to work on this this and this and this come on you know I'm going to get I'm going to tell you what you need to hear not what you want to hear and that's where I am that person I wouldn't adopt that unfiltered person on probably my short form content because that's just not really appropriate for
what I've built um and I find it's kind of about optimizing your persona like the extensions that you create of yourself to like best suit the content that you're creat creating in the style for the platform that you're creating on like I love this approach like I've been thinking about it all the time I literally think about all the time um because you know being like yourself is what we all want to be on camera right but we also want results we also have to play the game a little bit and I think finding a
real balance of being yourself and just adding a little bit more energy and a little bit of Polish to your delivery but not losing kind of the rawness and authenticity of you is is is the winning formula in my opinion like most you know creators don't speak exactly how they do it in real life and that's okay um and I I think I've finally found um you know that I have had lots of problems in you know Finding who I want to be on camera um and now I seem to have found three or four
different people like I said short form long form uh live streaming like all slightly different I've somehow managed to land myself in a niche where I'm able to do education and then throw in my like really dry sense of humor um and then also now do inspiration I'm like wow this is beautiful like I can do all three across different formats and I wish everybody could strive for that cuz it's so nice when you can do all of those things because then I can show like lot of different sides to my personality because I feel
like that's what like consumers and and the audience are looking for they don't want to see just this one-dimensional Creator anymore like you know there are lots of successful creators that are very one-dimensional like I'm like hello have you like have you got a personality like come on show me something tell me something about you you know be raw be honest you know but lots of creators are like this and I've been like that for a while my short form content exactly like that but then I was like wow I've got all of these other
things to me that I like and size to me that I think people would would like to see and want to hear and yes there's a bit of a risk there of you know showing my true self and oh you know I actually don't know if I like Ben you know I don't give a now because it's just like well you know I found my home in my onedimensional short form content and that's beautiful it does really well I love that style I'll continue to do it and now in the other formats I'm like kind
of just finding my other personas you know got the inspirational Persona you've got the unfiltered Persona you've got the like straight talking Persona you know and these are all just they're not too far from the real me they're not believe it or not I don't speak like this in real person to everybody but if you get me on stage you put me on a platform where it's appropriate to speak like this I will speak like this and it feels comfortable to me I'm not putting it on I find it very easy to speak like this
now because I would say it's it's it's not that far from me it's not all the way over there I'm not being super enthusiastic and super exaggerating some of the things I'm saying or saying words that I wouldn't say say I'm just here and it almost feels like that's the perfect spot for this persona for me while still uh being authentic and you know true to myself um but you know I won't like sugarcoat it like finding this balance and and and dynamic is super super hard I've been like trying to figure this out for
a long time and what I feel comfortable um you know sharing and being like you know I've you know done four or five years of content and and done many different personas and many of them just not been happy with but I think ultimately if you can find within your content ecosystem different ways to show different sides of your personality to kind of prove that you're more than just like a basic Creator I think that's what's going to make you stand out people want to see the different sides if you like they're just said people
want to see that unexpectedness um like the biggest compliment I take from from my comments is when someone says on one of my platforms oh I've been watching you over there and I really love your content there like and I know they love it because they're seeing a different side to me this honestly the biggest compliment I could get and I love seeing those comments because it makes me think wow they actually you know like me for me um and you know putting myself out there like as me is you know sometimes a bit scary
um but it's like really fulfilling um to to see comments like that it makes me kind of feel happy inside um and I think that like maybe I am doing the right thing in kind of this different Persona strategy which is why I've made this video today and just wanted to put some thoughts out there to you to have a think about kind of over the short medium long term how you'll building out your different personas different extensions of yourself to you know associate the right personality with the type of content you create on the
specific platform so that you can you know sustain yourself and also so like optimize uh how good your content is and how much people like you creating that certain content and I'm going to stop waffling now but I hope you enjoyed the video I hope it was valuable hope it gave you some things to think about I'll see you in the next one
