I made $315,000 in just one month with Amazon KDP here's how I did it hey guys yes that is in fact correct I did make that amount in just one month with Amazon KDP and in this video I'll first show you the proof so that you can know that this is real that I'm not making this up and then more importantly we will dive into all the strategies the knowledge the insights that I've accumulated over time to be able to generate these types of results most of you probably don't know me my name is Thomas
I've been a self publisher for a really long time something like more than 9 years at this point I think I've lost count to be honest but you might however know my software book beam which is I'm biased but I think is the best software out there for self-publishers we help you to find the best niches find the best keyword opportunities to do uh tracking and spy on competitors to optimize your existing books to Market them and so much more so it's like a full suit of tools for self-publishers if you haven't checked it out
already I definitely invite you to check out our tools so why am I sharing this now why am I doing this income report now why not sooner why do it at all so I've had these types of results to be honest for a while already for like something like three or four years in this kind of General Ballpark and the reason why I've kind of finally decided to come out and kind of share it and share my knowledge and show everybody my results it comes down to a couple of reasons so the first one is
that doing this showing my results gives me and the videos and the knowledge that I share here the right frame that's what how you could call it so what that means is you know that what I'm sharing here has help help me to achieve these results so by proxy you know that the knowledge that I'm sharing here is really valuable and it works for uh me so the only way it makes uh sense for me to do this is if I also share uh uh share the results and then secondly it's also about I realize
that I have so much knowledge to share so much great insights and again strategies that I've accumulated over time so why not share it why not give it away to people uh whilst also helping uh our software book be to get more seen and more known in this uh space so it's kind of an win-win H situation for uh everybody and also just why not inspire you I just want to also show you what's possible you know a couple thousand a month isn't although that's a great accomplishment I I definitely won't take that away from
everyone it's it's not the ceiling you can take this to uh to really high heights and by the way the results that you'll be seeing me share uh here shortly this is not the ceiling there's there's definitely people uh you know doing even uh even bigger numbers uh than m so with that said now let's dive into the proof now one thing before we do that that I have to mention is that the results that you see me talk about here it come from two different accounts so two different dashboards and before you start telling
me well actually you're not allowed to do that don't you know about the rules well I'm very well aware of the rules and if you want to get technical on me I'll get technical right back so technically speaking these are not my personal uh accounts the accounts don't belong to me personally they do belong to two separate legal entities so that's how this works and that's how I stay within the rules of of the game if you will stay within the rules of Amazon so they're are two different companies with two different everything two different
addresses uh bank accounts and everything else so everything's entirely separate and that's how this works and by the way if you if you uh don't quite know the difference between a company and a person a person can own a company but there are still two different uh two different entities as seen by and as defined by the law so company is an entity companies May own other companies so all separate generally companies are separate entities and physical people are separate entities so that's how that works so one account per person yes and one account per
then legal person or company so with that cleared out now let's dive into the laptop all right so here we are for the sake of this video let's call this account number one so we're in the dashboard of account number one which did 130,000 in December of 2023 so first let us do the refresh of Truth and Justice here we go and why I call it the refresh of Tru truth and Justice is because you know generally once you refresh a dashboard you can know that nothing's been tampered with because it's you know you can
kind of edit the web page and and change up the numbers but if you do this type of uh you know the refresh here I'm doing another one uh you can know that you know it's it's connected to the internet you refresh the page and you know it shows you uh the same numbers then it's more likely to be uh real all right so that is the total amount for account uh number one I will also briefly scroll down to show you how much the top books contributed to uh to this uh number as you
can see the books are blurred I won't make it that easy for you to just copy exactly you know all of my niches I'm not choosing not to do that for now uh because like you know it's just going to be if if I were to do that just a small percentage relatively small percentage of the people that watch will copy the niches mercilessly so that's why I'm protecting protecting the books uh from that for now you know I worked too hard uh too hard for this um so yeah so that's account number one before
we dive into account number two I will already mentioned that around 35 to up to 38% to 40 is goes to ads so this is not pure profit by any means so a sizable amount a good chunk of this uh has gone into ads to be able to uh generate these uh results so you don't really get to this place by just you know playing the game safely and organically oh I'm not going to spend because I'm scared to spend uh money because you know that makes me uncomfortable no to get to this level you
have to uh you have to do quite a bit of uh spending you have to be uh very well-versed in uh Amazon ads amongst other uh things but anyway we'll get into uh that later in this video now let's go to dashboard uh number two all right so here we are in account number two uh let's do another refresh of Truth and Justice again so that you can know that nothing's been Tapper with and everything is real let's do another one just for fun uh there we go 185 so this is account number two and
if you'll notice this is a much newer account only has 15 books published inside of it and again this will be another kind of major talking point throughout this video so again let's scroll down to see the the breakdown of how much the different books have contributed uh to achieve these uh results so you can see 8020 applies very very strongly again I'll keep this talking point this discussion point for later very important and if you add these two numbers up you arrive at over $315,000 now before diving into all of these strategies I will
mention one last thing is that I'm assuming some base level of knowledge here I'm assuming that you have some understanding of how Amazon KDP works of how the the publishing kind of process works where you find the niche you produce a book whether that's low content medium content high content then you publish it and you Market it on Amazon I'm assuming you've either watched some videos perhaps you've even gone through the process a couple of times already I'm assuming some base level of knowledge just so we don't have to kind of go over the all
the same stuff uh that is out there already um and we can dive a little bit further now again this is not a video for advanced uh Advanced Publishers definitely not it's it's made for a broad audience but again I'm not going to be going over the basics so we can dive into the into the real meat if you will all right Point number one success in publishing boils down to three pretty basic and simple points find a great Niche produce a great book for this great Niche and lastly Market this great book for this
inside of this great Niche that's it that's all all it is this is where the secret lies it's right in front of your face so often when I share my results with somebody one of the first things that uh would come comes to their mind is okay what are your secrets what are your secret marketing tactics do you have some like are are you using some kind of secret uh going after some kind of secret niches and and having some special keywords no none of that none of that is true at all so the success
comes from these three basic points so let me explain so you want to find what is a great Niche so the way I Define a great Niche is one that has huge amounts of demand so much demand that it can you know Propel your book up to the top at least 10,000 in BSR um or ideally even even lower or higher than that depending on you know how you define it numerically or higher in ranking so basically yeah you want to go for the high rankings that is where the sales and the money is made
in the high uh you know in the high kind of bsrs in the high rankings that's what you how you want to be thinking about it so you want niches that are very high in demand and with competition I actually will still go into niches that are quite competitive that are considered quite competitive and why it works for me is because I know that I will still be able to rise to the top because I'm able to point number two produce a great book inside of this Niche that people are going to love the S
gonna have an amazing cover that pops that gets people's attention that converts uh you know the the browsers into actual buyers so that turns the clicks into orders I know I'll be able to do all of that and therefore I will be able to do very well in this Niche or in other times S I will also look at are there new angles that I can you know publish a book under kind of have a new angle or like a like a kind of like a sub Niche that can still be still rise to the
top of this Niche so all this kind of stuff would go into me sort of trying to think about uh what a good Niche is so Point number two again you you're producing a really high quality book that people are going to love going to leave five stars for and that will also impact uh obviously will impact how well you can do but it will also impact Point number three is your marketing and for the most part besides something like building reviews it's going to be uh working with Amazon ads because again to reach this
type of scale you're going to have to be buying uh traffic you're going to have to be paying to get your book in front of people like you can't really expect to uh again you know like expect to do things organically and expect Amazon to just flood your book yeah you're the chosen one here take all this massive traffic no that's not how it works you're going to have to uh spend some money but you know for the ads to work you're GNA have to again select a good Niche because that will Define how much
your clicks cost in uh side of Amazon ads and also your your your good book will help your uh ads to actually work um because you know a book with that Converse well that people like the clicks convert into orders and therefore you know the the ads can be can work and they can be actually cost- effective instead of losing you money so everything stands on these three pillars you'll see as we go throughout this video everything kind of goes back to these three core essential points all right so Point number two produce less books
but make them high quality and in great niches what I've been seeing in the last probably few years already in this space and it's probably coming from the KDP low content side of things is that people think that they will just pump out loads and loads of garbage just like dozens and dozens of low quality books uh what I've seen even myself some people like uploading the same book with just a small color change inside the cover so everything's exactly the same uh the interior is the same uh the cover is almost the same from
one to the next except that there's a color change on the background the cover and they just like pump this out like 10 times or more and they're just like you know spamming the marketplace with low quality uh nonsense and this is kind of this low content mindset that people think that okay the way to achieve scale is to just pump out this uh low quality stuff at scale and that's how I'm going to you know grow my income probably whoever came up with this I think this is what their thought process was like they
were like they looked at their dashboard they were like Okay so this book has made $10 this month for me how do I get it's from here to 10K I know I will do the same thing 1,000 times and then they went on to publish dozens and dozens and hundreds of books that are low quality most of which are getting zero sales and it's just Amazon doesn't like this just SP that it's spamming their marketplace with uh with the low quality stuff that you potentially just you know didn't even produce the interior you just took
it from somebody from somewhere that that stuff doesn't work so if you think about this for a brief moment how could this ever work you only have so much time so much energy and so much money how are you going to spread yourself so so thin the books are going to be just of garbage quality if you're going to produce them at such a scale and how are you going to Market them how are you going to build reviews for them people who are not doing that who are like whose focus is more narrow they're
going to just out compete you in all the categories and not to even mention that like you're never going to get like this consistent even at a low level you're not going to get like consistent sales from this like platora of of books that you might be publishing which might be you know whatever low content or medium content you're not going to get those few sales that that's just never going to work it's just such a such a crappy mindset that somebody made up and it's just like everybody is thinking yeah this is the way
to go no it's not the way to go you need to go actually the opposite direction so if you were to think of of like a scale uh let's put this on a scale so on one end of the extreme uh let's say there is you're you're publishing like a thousand books just pumping them out just like you know you're just taking free content free uh you know templates interior templates just pumping them out pump it out without too much regard of being able to focus on on each and every book each and every product
and on the other end of spectrum you have like producing just one B every few years for example you're JK rolling or something and so where you really want to be is you want to be somewhere you don't want to be at this extreme you definitely don't want to be at this one but you don't want to be at this extreme either you want to be but you want to be close to this extreme you want to be producing less less books uh but you want to make sure that they are high quality and they're
like laser targeted like the way I approach this is that every single book that I produce and publish with our team um every single book is going to have the potential to do really really well and not just do really well throughout the year it has extra potential to do uh extra well in Q4 but more on that later so again you want to be doing less books but make sure that they are high quality and in great uh niches you want to be producing less books and make sure that they have the potential in
in my mind I want them to have the potential to go into top 10,000 or even top 100 of course that most of the time it doesn't go uh that high but still that's the general mindset the big sales are in the top again in the top of the BSR charge that's where the sales are coming from that's how you need to be uh thinking about it so you have to be uplevel your strategies the same strategies but again they just kind of go to a new level one little thing that I will mention here
is that again you have to adapt this to where you are at if you're just at the beginning if you're just starting out it might not be yet the best strategy for you to just like go try to produce like like Master Level like great uh books and great content and try to select the niches when you don't really know quite what you're doing and that's very normal in the beginning so in the beginning you might still want to perhaps Go For Less competitive uh niches where you might not do that well with books that
don't cost you that much to produce that's that's fine you might want to still do that in the beginning until you can get a better feeling for the different niches how do how does Amazon even work how do you get reviews how do you use Amazon ads you might want to first uh as as the first level until you get to I don't know first 1,000 5,000 or or whatever you might want to First be doing that before you try to kind of take things to the next level just wanted to uh put that out
there because there is like a like a context to this cuz I probably am in a slightly different place uh than some of you are okay so now to really make this point hit home let's look at some of the data so here we've analyzed the combined data from both accounts from all the books and the combined uh income number this is how much the top books contributed to the overall uh overall income and get this the top three books only top three only three books generated 75% of all of the you know of that
entire number number isn't that pretty wild 75% and if you look at top four it it goes up to 80% but pretty much most of it was was done by like three four five books isn't that insane now let's sit and think about this for just a little bit what does this mean does this mean we should be you know going out there and just pumping out a lot of uh garbage Into The Ether or should we perhaps kind of reconsider our strategy a little bit and instead do what I told you earlier in this
video so this is like the data my my data backs this up this is what I've been noticing in my dashboard and if you look at anybody else's you know results usually there will be some Heavy Hitters some books that produce like like a lot of like large chunks of the overall results and that's just generally how you know things are distributed in in life in everything it's the 8020 paros principle you've probably heard it by now discovered by an economist back in I believe was it the 20th uh Century where in life things are
unevenly distributed so only a lot of the results a lot of the outputs come from a small amount of the inputs and it's very true here in our business in our little uh corner of the world it's it's definitely uh very very true so instead of going out there and pumping a lot of uh again a lot of nonsense into ether tone things down and produce less stuff but in the right uh places so I'm taking less bets but I'm making sure that they are think of you think of yourself as an investor you're placing
less bets but you're trying to you know catch that unicorn investment you're trying to make that uh those bets really go far one thing I'll mention here as well is that the books are counted as book if it gets translated into let's say four different languages which some of them are I still count it as one book just because it's been translated and it shows that as a as a separate listing on Amazon doesn't mean it's uh it's a different uh a different book just FYI also some of you might be wondering out of how
many total books is this books that contributed meaningfully to the uh Revenue although I don't quite have this number here on the slides at the moment uh the books that contributed meaningfully to uh to the to the income are only around 30 to 40 even though you know published more under especially the first account things move on Trends die etc etc the more you've had the account there's books that are not doing anything I'm sure you guys know how that works so anyway so it's actually it's again it's a small amount of uh books you
want to be doing less stuff and make sure it's really really good and has the potential to you know go very far again the way I think about this at this point is I want every single book that we make to have the potential to uh be a contributor like the top three or four books are here I want it to be like a heavy hitter that's my uh intention for it and that's the lens that I look at it from and that's how you at least from what I've seen and everybody else that I've
you know who has shared their their results that's how it always looks like you have some books that are doing really really well and that's how you uh create uh results now another thing I feel the need to talk about here is that there is a really bad really rotten mindset floating around our space where people think that they can get without giving first they want to get the royalties the sales the income without first investing their time money energy uh into you know into their business you have to feed your business first before you
can expect it to uh you know to feed you with uh you know sales income and royalties that's a very like core uh core principle so people come in here I don't know why probably the gurus have told them that you know like yeah yeah yeah you'll just throw up this journal no content uh product up there on Amazon and in no time in one month you'll be making 10K a month it's it's so easy and oh nobody's talking about this model it's just they tell you whatever you need to hear and some of the
beginners are so you know naive this is what they want to hear they want to make money with no investment and no skills and no anything whilst you know Amazon KDP is an awesome business it's never true that you're you don't have to invest anything give anything and you can get something uh for nothing so I would highly advise if you feel that might be you I highly advise you get rid of that mindset because you do have to invest in making great books you do have to perhaps invest in software to help you find
all the best niches keywords to help you along in so many of the processes in in your journey you do have to also invest in in yourself invest in figuring out how does all this work and know that yes it will take time it's not going to happen in a few weeks those are anomalies yes some people can get results really quickly but that's the exception that's not how things are most of the time it takes time you have to figure this out I've been add it for so long it takes time to figure out
like how does it work you know how do the keywords work how do people shop on Amazon how can I produce better books it's all of it takes takes time before you can see results so that delayed gratification will really you know be be important here just like in any other major Endeavor uh in life it's going to take a while for you to see the results so this is something that I really wanted to address I've been seeing this and it's like you know gives gives me a headache part of why I mentioned this
is because like when I would do a video on the best niches and I would show a book that it's harder to produce people would be complaining oh it's too difficult do you want results or not this is a good Niche and the fact that it's difficult is actually good it raises the barrier uh to entry the fact that something is more difficult to produce takes more money to produce that is actually a good thing provided that there are sales and demand so it kind of sets you apart from you know it helps it's like
a barrier natural barrier for everybody else because it's difficult a lot of people won't do it so if you do it it's it's it's good for you all right so next I already know what question you probably had in your mind when I was showing you the results is what kind of books do you publish what kind of books do you produce what books contributed and created those results and the answer is I would categorize the books as medium content where you know there's probably low content medium content and high content where high content is
probably pure text like a classic non-fiction or or fiction book perhaps then you have low content which is something like journals notebooks maybe puzzle books maybe cling books I'm not sure where you put that uh I'm not like very strict about you know how you uh categorize this but my books probably would be medium content a lot of them have both a sufficient amount like good amount of text and uh illustrations but you know I I've never I don't limit myself to never doing low content some of them are also low content some of them
are high it's kind of a little bit all over the map but the core one is uh medium content that has like a good mix it's it's quite a good amount of content in there it's definitely not low I definitely wouldn't call it uh low so I would say yes medium content one thing that I will mention here though is that just because my results tend to come from medium content it doesn't mean that you absolutely need to be doing the same thing as well there's a lot of people who do really well with high
content and low content as well so I don't think that's a helpful mindset to just like lock yourself in for no other reason because you know you saw somebody has good results with some uh type of uh content I think it's much better to for example to load up a tool like the book beam Niche Finder to load you know some kind of search maybe the top selling self-published books or the recently published uh books that are selling really well or whichever other type of uh search and then look at what is you know what
does the what do the results show you what do they tell you which types of niches are currently doing really really well and where could you produce a high quality book and also uh do really really well in so that's I think a much better way to look at it rather than you know just arbitrarily limiting yourself to one uh some kind of category all right so with that covered the basics the fundamentals which are really really important that covered now let's talk about Q4 which is quarter four or the last three months of the
year which is when the holiday sales boom is happening so the those results that you saw me uh show you are from that from Q4 from the last month of Q4 December so why is Q4 this kind of special thing you might have heard it before people talk about it in a kind of a special way and the reason is that everybody's buying gifts for their loved ones for their friends family aunts and uncles maybe colleagues so everybody in their life they're buying gifts for and books are highly giftable item they are a category that
see a lot of that uh you know a lot of that sales volume increase during this time and it is not a casual increase by any means the increase is really really substantial and I've known this for a long time that's why my whole entire strategy uh throughout the year is kind of crafted around making the absolute most out of Q4 so what that means is I always run when we're looking at different potential niches and books to produce is I always run it by the filter will this do really really well in Q4 I
publish books that can do really well throughout the year and they can do extra well during Q4 they can really like they can they can milk that for all its worth that that huge sales and demand Spike uh during Q4 so it's it's kind of Evergreen but it can do extra well during Q4 what does that mean so what types of categories do well during Q4 so basically a helpful lens that I can recommend to you is run it by a question how giftable is this item it's like a gift ability index that I've invented
that you can kind of run books by so how giftable is this book so what is going to be giftable anything that's in the kids category highly giftable anything that is like like a joke book perhaps or like a gag gift also very very giftable always in the top charts every single year uh you see Dad joke books and all different types of joke books and it's hilarious and it's happening in all the different marketplaces not just in the US of jokes and like trivia is very widely applicable so that's like you can think about
who would be gifting these books who would be receiving these books and it's like a very broad audience it's almost like you can give it to anybody and that's why also these categories tend to do really really well so pretty much all books will see like a significant increase during uh during Q4 but these categories tend to do extra I didn't cover all of them by by any means these are just some examples but yes go always go back to gift ability how giftable is this uh Niche is this is this book so to really
make the most out of Q4 the holiday sales rush you really need to prepare well in advance none of this like you know end of November Rolls by beginning of December you start seeing wow the sales are picking up let me quickly scramble to produce something let me throw up some kind of free template that I found somewhere oh I'll do really well quickly catch the holiday sales these these waves of increased demand and sales no that never works that's such a newbie thing to do and it never works you're always too late you don't
want to be launching books in December the it's it's actually harder to launch in December because the traffic is picking up the ads are becoming more expensive because they're also more effective we'll get into that slightly later so it's it's not a great time to be launching stuff you have to think in advance it's almost like you have to think sort of like almost like an investor you can't be just like reacting to things you have to like anticipate things in advance and one thing you can know for sure as end of November Rolls by
comes by the uh demand will be increasing it comes by every year and it every year it leaves in on December 22nd or so when everybody's done shopping they're having shopping hangover uh so you have to anticipate it in advance so for example my current publishing kind of plan throughout the year is built around the fact that there will be Q4 and we want to be ready for Q4 so for example during q1 which is January February we're producing books producing new stuff we're working on uh making it then in spring or summer we're releasing
it building up the reviews so that when Q4 Rolls by we're ready to really make the absolute most out of it your books are in solid positions since you launch them in summer or uh spring they're have a good amount of reviews on them and they're ready to really make the most out of out of Q4 because like if you if you're scrambling to do things late it's just you're never going to be able to make the most out of this opportunity that comes by every year all right so now let's talk a little bit
about Amazon ads and specifically Amazon ads during Q4 I'm not really going to talk too much about the basics of Amazon ads I'm assuming you know uh some of the basics when it comes to running Amazon ads and even if you don't I think this still will be helpful the basics would be like you know how do you set up the automatic targeting campaigns keyword targeting product targeting campaigns those will be some of the more Basics let's talk about uh ads during Q4 so what is different during Q4 pretty much everything is different during Q4
what happens during Q4 there's like a huge influx of traffic coming into Amazon and everybody's uh looking to buy gifts what does this mean so one this means there's much more traffic and there's much more clicks and the clicks are much more valuable what does that mean more of the clicks turn into orders if that makes sense so let's say in a usual time it's I don't know it's maybe September maybe it's March whatever month it may be let's say it takes you 10 clicks for a certain keyword Target let's say the keyword Target is
uh some kind of uh let's say word search for seniors for example so let's say that is a keyword that you are targeting and on average it takes you 10 clicks to get one order okay so now let's contrast that to Q4 what will happen with that Target in Q4 is that it will take much less clicks to get one order so if it took 10 clicks to get one order in in non Q4 time in Q4 it's going to take like five clicks for example to get just that one order so this means that
the clicks have become more valuable because it takes less of them to generate uh generate orders because there's you know there's an increased buying frequency there's more purchasing and and sales happening so this means that everything changes during Q4 all the numbers that youve kind of relied on in a non Q4 time before that they pretty pretty much go out the window until perhaps when Q4 is over and it's it's January why everything goes out the window because again because of the factors that I mentioned the traffic is different there's much more traffic it takes
less clicks to get an order also this is an important one some targets that usually might not work for you that might be too expensive some like product targets if you want to show your book to some competitor book or or some some perhaps keyword Target that perhaps is very broad might not work for your book during a normal time during Q4 it might actually it might work because again it takes less of those clicks to get those orders so you want to be running tests you want to be running experiments and you want to
move quickly because things are changing uh very quickly during Q4 it's actually you know it can get a little bit uh stressful there's a lot going on and uh yeah it's definitely I'm like at my dashboard I have you know people who are helping me with it but still it's it's just because everything Mo changes so quickly it's also hard to if you want to you know if you want to build a team and it's hard to train them because Q4 rolls around there only once uh once a year so it's hard to train people
for a time that you know you are you are not in so you can't really get real world uh practice so that's one point run tests move quickly things that don't usually work for you can work for you during Q4 another really important thing to talk about and discuss when we're talking about ads during Q4 is budgeting and I've made so many mistakes around this in the past in the earlier years but you're lucky you don't have to you can learn from my mistakes so okay budgeting first of all you have to realistically decide how
much are you willing to spend on ads during Q4 because it will be an amazing time it is a great opportunity but you have to be realistic about it kind of centered mindful how much am I willing to invest because remember there is a cash flow challenge that you know the payouts come 60 uh days later so just be realistic about it see how much are you willing uh to spend that's one major point then the second point is when we're talking about budgeting is don't spend too much too soon so you might be getting
really excited you see things ramping up it's December 1st let's say you see things ramping up and you really want to make the most of it you might be tempted to kind of like be aggressive with it start testing everything all the the targets you start seeing that like targets that usually don't work for you are working for you get really excited these broad terms maybe work for you and you start spending but then uh you realize when you uh enter the height the height is around December 12th to December 19th this is when there's
the holiday sales boom uh height and everybody's buying most people are buying their uh all the gifts around that time there's some people who start earlier obviously but that's when it's just the height that's when everything is going ballistic so so you want to make sure that you still have a good chunk of your budget for those dates again I've been in situations in the past where I overspent and like I missed out on uh better opportunities for that same money to be spent in that time and I've been like oh I spent too much
in the first half of on the first part of uh the sales rush so be mindful about it and uh be don't spend uh too much too quickly SP kind of uh pace yourself and uh that will help you to uh really make the most out of things lastly let's talk about the foreign marketplaces as well they contributed to uh the results to the numbers as well so what do I mean when I say foreign marketplaces there's the obvious ones Canada and UK they're english- speaking so there's no extra work you have to do to
take advantage of them and then there's the four European ones Germany France Italy and Spain so all of them contributed to some extent to those results now this year though most of the results came from the US because I was more focused on the US it just so happened that the with the niches and the timing and whatever that us just it made the most sense to focus on the US the amazon.com Marketplace in other years in previous years again where I've achieved similar similar uh results we have had a bigger proportion of uh the
sales come in from uh let's say European and UK uh marketplaces so just because the US eats up such a significant part of this pie chart it doesn't mean that the foreign marketplaces are not that powerful they actually are it just so happened that this year uh you know it made more sense for me to double down on on the US whereas in other years I would have been was more focused in uh the foreign marketplaces and this year as well I think I left so much on the table in the foreign marketplaces I just
we just didn't have the capacity to keep track of everything to make sure that you know everything is run well because you also you don't want to spend uh money without a a good uh return so there was definitely opportunities left on the table in uh I think especially in the European marketplaces somewhat maybe in the UK too uh and in case you're not that familiar so how would you uh you know go after um enter the foreign marketplaces or the European marketplaces you would just basically translate your book to the local language you would
use some kind of service or if you're new to work with them working with this translator you might want to hire somebody else to proof fre their work to know that they are actually doing a good work uh good good job with uh the uh translation that it's not just you know Google thrown into Google translate so that's how you would kind of take advantage of that it's the same cover the same content so a lot of the times it can be a really really good uh opportunity because you know the the demand is pretty
PR similar like we're becoming a very Global very connected uh world so the de demand and the niches that are in demand in the US qu quite likely highly likely will also be demand in uh in Europe so just because it's a different language doesn't most of the time doesn't uh mean that there won't be demand the demands the demand and the niches overlap all the time also there's an interesting Dynamic with amazon.com and the other marketplaces and that is that amazon.com is the biggest uh by far but the other ones are also growing and
they're they've become actually quite substantial however Amazon is still the biggest it's the leader it's it's a great economy people love to shop and so what that means is you can go very far but it will cost you so it's it's expensive it's also more competitive this means that the ads cost more in amazon.com however in the in the UK let's say or in the European marketplaces you can still do really really well they're already pretty substantially large the Amazon's presence in these in these markets so it's definitely worth the extra work to uh take
advantage of them they are small small yes compared to Amazon but the ads are less expensive because they are less also less competitive so it's like an interesting Dynamic where like you can go quite far in the US because there's you know it's it's just massive but in the European marketplaces you can still do well and it will also Cost You Less so it's kind of like you you got to decide you can try to do everything you can try to in this case for me it kind of made sense okay I'll just focus here
this year and last year again as I've mentioned uh we were more kind of dispersed focusing other areas it just depends on where is the you got to kind of get a sense of where is your best opportunity where the most is is the most demand during the sales Rush where is it coming from or where is it usually are your books translated did you manage to translate them did you H not so all that would go into factoring when you decide how you want to play this all right guys so that's all for this
video I hope you found it useful and enjoyable and took a lot away from it it's always a great time to be preparing for Q4 so if you need the best tools to help you with research with marketing with finding the best niches with optimizing your books and a lot more I invite you to check out book beam. with that said thanks for watching and I'll see you around
