the sentence one word will have some of the letters taken away you might see two or three of the letters and then it will be space space space space and you have to find what the missing letters are to complete that word when you figured it out you type in those letters and you've got 20 seconds to finish it so it happens very quickly and you'll see between six and nine of these questions on a typical D and remember like everything in D this section is adaptive that means if you're answering lots of questions correctly
the questions get harder and harder so how can you improve your score in this section the first tip is not to look immediately at the word read the whole sentence first and make sure you look for context that means look for the words before the Gap look at the words after the Gap by looking at the whole sentence you'll get a better idea and make a better guess be careful as well of spelling if you guess the word correctly but type it wrong it's still going to be wrong so if you look at the word
and you think oh I think that's wrong you can backspace you can type it again and speaking of spellings make sure that you're using American English spellings because if you try and write the word in British English the system will consider it as a wrong answer now if you're not sure uh what American English spellings are it's mostly the same as British English except Americans don't like the letter U so for example in the word color British English it's o u r American English is o r for some reason they hate the letter u and
the other difference is American English often uses a z or Zed to spell words that in British English are spelled with an S for example the word strategize in American English is with a z and in British English is with an S and you can even practice these using AI so we've created a prompt it's here in the description under the video you can paste that into chat GPT and ask it to create these fill-in the blanks questions for you so that you can practice and practice and practice now just before we go to the
