all right then let's begin so could you tell me your full name please uh I'm Yak Kim yakim yes is it Yu n a yes you okay and youa are you working or are you a student um I was a student last year but I'm currently looking for a job good and could you tell me what you do when you have some free time uh my free time I read a lot I like novels short stories especially by Hemingway mhm or my the most favorite book is mie Dick by Herman Melville or I listen to

music my favorite ones are Korean uh pop music yeah or I go for a walk something like that okay perfect now let's talk about collecting things so do you collect anything uh I don't really buy things but I guess I collect books yeah um whenever I see books online that I really wanted to read instead of going to library I like to have them so I guess I buy books m yeah I can say I collect them yes and are there any things that you have kept from your childhood from my childhood [Music] um a

doll a small tiny little doll it's like it looks like a bear yeah it can be teddy bear but this tiny little one has um mole from like I guess being humid in the atmosphere being too old but I have kept it from my childhood since I was very little great and where do you usually keep the things you need um that I need you mean like cell phones wallet yes um next to my bath yeah or in my bag or some somewhere I can see yeah yes so that I don't forget them take okay

now let's talk about watches so do you wear a watch I only uh wear it whenever I go for something really important meeting or when I was a student graduate student when we had a conference or event that I really need to see my watch instead of looking at my phone constantly then I prefer to wear a watch but I don't really do it uh in my daily time daily yeah yes and have you ever received a watch as a gift yeah but when I was in Middle School or high school not or yeah it

was a gift for my college entering the college from my dad I remember that from the chu airport yes yeah when we travel but that was like the last gift for the watch that I got yes and why do some people wear expensive watches why H that's a good [Music] question there are some people who like luxurious things maybe it express their identity that uh it shows them they're important as uh watches that they uh paid or maybe they just like them and do you think it's important to wear a watch um yes or no

it is important for those who think it is important or I don't think it's important because we always wear I mean we always bring our phone with us but I think it's good to not look at the phone when I in an important situation like a meeting or a conference M yes perfect okay that'll do us for part one we'll go on to part two of test now okay we look at it here so here is your question you can use this pencil you can do some note taking there if you like so I'll give

you one minute to prepare all right so you can begin okay that is one one minute okay all right so yeah could you describe a rural area that you have been to so the rural area I went I've been to is called in ch mhm which is my dad's Hometown I went there four or five years ago with my grandmother and with my uncle and his wife he's uh my dad's older brother we went there because I was just back from the US because I went there for studying as a graduate student and it was

a trip uh with all of them to please my grandmother cuz she was almost 90 years old and we haven't really travel together so uh we took our dad's car to take uh everyone and we went to different places like there's a big lake where we could take a walk or the famous restaurant that they serve like fish soup and then uh like the popular not popular but like a museum where they where the guy like the famous scholar from the dynasty period like in the history historical area and uh I felt really good and

it was very precious time to spend with my grandmother since I didn't spend much time with her because she was always in the church and I was always busy studying or working and uh we haven't yeah spent time together so I really liked uh going there perfect that's 2 minutes right now okay okay nice one would you like to go back there in the future yeah sure yeah yeah it's my dad's Hometown so we can go there and also my dad's uh sister's husband is there uh for farming oh yeah so we can go there

whenever we want to nice nice sounds good okay let's go on to part three of the test let's keep it going okay all right so what do you think are the main differences between cities and the countryside the main differences can be the number of population that the city has millions of people but the rural area has very little young especially young people that everyone worries about the ruler area getting old mhm uh that no one could work uh to make the city have like a young Vibe and not many children who can take care

of the the area in the future mhm and the city is of course is very busy and vagr has 24 hours 24/7 lights everywhere mhm uh never sleep the city itself but the ruler area goes to uh off flight after the sun after the Sun goes away so it's kind of scary sometimes to walk around after like 7 8 p.m. but not in the city yes and so you mentioned there that uh many young people are leaving rural areas are there any measures that governments can take to encourage people to live in rural areas any

measure anything they can do oh um if they offer money yes uh but enough money to make a living in rural areas or some jobs that young people can take um or may create some fun things not only jobs but also fun things like music festival or uh Cinema the theater outdoor activi is that young parents and children can enjoy that might bring young people to rural areas yes yes and what kind of people like to live in rural areas um people who prefer to live in a slower mode not as not in a face

fastpaced uh those who um like to leave with people like neighbors who can say hi uh who like to spend some time in nature M instead of being in a crowded noisy um yeah places in City M and for older people do you think rural areas are more suitable for them or are cities more suitable depends on what they need if they are from City uh if they spend their whole life in City they might prefer to leave with their children um or in a sorry um in the uh what do you care daycare center

for older for the elderly mhm but but if they are from the ruler areas then they might not want to move to other places because just because they are familiar with it yes and do people in your country like to go hiking yeah yeah a lot I also like go for hiking um and I see a lot of people walking uh um with the sticks hiking um equipment as if they are going to Himalaya Mountain or something right yeah true okay all right that will do us for part three so we finished the test all

right yes so let's start with the feedback now so I'd estimate your score to be around a seven yeah um yeah really good test your very good pronunciation and fluency you speak very clearly you answered the questions well um let's just talk about a few parts of the test that maybe we could improve on um when you talked about let's talk about vocabulary first when you talked about the city I think you said the word like V vigorous was it maybe vibrant would be a better word there cities are vibrant or Lively yeah um and

when you mentioned uh slower mode and afterwards you mentioned Pace right so I think it's better to say slower pace of life like rural areas have a slower pace of Life compared to larger cities um you mentioned daycare center for older people do you mean like a nursing home is it yeah maybe nursing home is better there um so nursing home as in where they stay um Community Center you could also use more for activities for older people so community centers in rural areas um nursery nursery sounds more for like children very young children yeah

so I'd probably say like nursing home or nursing community community center yeah Community Center is more for organizing activities for older people and and for everyone basically um yeah as I said pronunciation was really good I would say just a little bit of um confusion between leave and live a little bit there with the the long and the short vowel you know so just make sure you try and get a little bit shorter live live in rural areas yeah um yeah in terms of grammar grammar is pretty strong most of the way um small things

like you said I go to library usually we say the library so yeah I used to go to the library I often go to the library um go for really important meeting you should be saying go to a yeah if I go to a really important important meeting I wear a watch yeah to check the time when we talked about part two this is a common one in part two you talked about your family trip and you said we haven't really traveled together so you use the present perfect tense but you should use the past

perfect tense like before that trip we hadn't traveled together before that was our first trip together or yeah um and same thing like you use past simple I think this was okay here you said I didn't spend much time with her in the past like you could also say like I hadn't spent I hadn't spent much time with her before that trip if it changed yeah um small things about countable and uncountable I think he said uh very little young people uh so that's for the uncountable nouns so it should be very few yeah very

few young people live in rural areas yeah when the Sun goes away should be when the Sun goes down yeah when the Sun goes down or simply when the sun sets yeah um when we talk about hiking I think you said like go for hiking you can two options there you can say go plus ing so go hiking or go for a hike go for a hike the same way with like running go running go for a run yeah um so yeah but really really clear test really nice nicely answered questions so yeah thank you
