anyone about your goals yeah it sounds weird right but there's a reason for it and we'll explain why later also staying consistent is hard we get it but there's a free app we both use every day to track habits it's been a game Cher it really has and we'll share Five Habits for your English progress in this episode that you may have never heard of before so let's dive in and make 2025 your English year ready let's go follow one English influencer on social media every day so habit number one follow one English influencer every
day on social media it's interesting isn't it it is social media can be your best friend for learning English but you need to use it the right way yeah let's start with platforms like Tik Tok YouTube and Instagram they're not just for fun they're packed with English content right but here's the key don't limit yourself to one type of Creator you can follow vloggers for casual everyday English or travel influencers they'll teach you phrases for exploring new places and culture creators are awesome for understanding slang or how people actually speak in real life it keeps
your learning fun and fresh now here's a secret gem substack if you haven't heard of it it's a platform for reading highquality articles and newsletters I know you love substack Noah what kind of English can people learn there well it's great for more advanced reading a lot of writers there focus on storytelling deep thoughts or Niche topics it helps you build a richer vocabulary and think in English more deeply that's amazing so for people who prefer Quick videos Tik Tok or YouTube is perfect but if you want to improve your reading try substack and here's
a tip for any platform train the algorithm if you like follow and engage with English content the algorithm will create an English only space for you that's so smart it's like turning your social media into a free English classroom plus it saves you time and helps you avoid distractions and here's the best part you're learning naturally it feels effortless because you're just scrolling or reading like you usually do so make it a habit start by following one new English influencer today it's simple but so effective medic meditation in English all right let's move on to
Habit number two meditation in English meditation in English well that sounds unique but how does it actually work well it's simple when you meditate instead of just clearing your mind try focusing on English you can do selft talk like quietly talking to yourself in English like saying what's on your mind but in English yeah or you can think back on your day retell it in your head using English words you can even try journaling your thoughts in English as a meditation exercise that's interesting so the key is thinking in English right yep that's it it
trains your brain to process English more naturally and here's the bonus meditation itself is relaxing so you're learning and de-stressing at the same time I like that and honestly it sounds like it would boost your confidence too if you can think in English more fluently speaking becomes way easier totally plus meditation has other benefits it improves Focus reduces stress and even helps you sleep better it's a win-win so what's a good way to start should people set aside a specific time for this definitely just 5 or 10 minutes a day is enough maybe in the
morning to set the tone for your day or at night to wind down I love that idea so everyone give it a try meditate in English and see how it helps your language skills and your life trust me it works you're not just learning English you're taking care of yourself too posting in English every day all right on to Habit number three posting in English every day Noah you've got a story for this one right yeah this is something I learned from a friend of mine she started posting in English daily about 6 months ago
on Reddit at first it was tough she could barely write 10 words wow that sounds intimidating so what happened after 6 months she made incredible progress now she's not just writing confidently but can also have full conversations in English when we talked last week she was so fluent it blew my mind that's amazing but how does writing every day help someone speak better isn't speaking a different skill it is but here's the thing most people struggle with speaking because they can't find the right words quickly writing helps you build that word Bank in your mind
it trains your brain to think in English and pick words faster oh so it's like practicing behind the scenes for speaking that makes sense and when you write you can take your time refine your sentences and learn new vocabulary it's like a workout for your language skills and what about grammar that's a big worry for a lot of Learners totally that's where tools like grammarly come in it's super helpful for catching mistakes and improving your grammar over time you get instant feedback so you're always learning that's such a smart way to practice so for anyone
listening even if you're shy start small post a sentence or two each day pick one of your favorite social media platforms like X Reddit Instagram or in the comment section of a YouTube video it doesn't matter what matters is keeping the output in English and look at Noah's friend six months of this habit and she's now speaking fluently that's proof it works definitely so start today and who knows where you'll be in a few months it's worth it 10 minutes English time before getting sleep moving on to Habit number four spending 10 minutes with English
right before bed Noah what do you think about this one I love it making English the last thing you do in your day is such a powerful habit it sticks in your mind while you sleep yeah I've heard that whatever you focus on before bed stays with your brain longer so it's like planting seeds in your memory exactly plus if you end your day with English you might even dream in English that's a deeper level of learning oh dreaming in English that's such a cool idea have you ever had an English dream Noah actually I
have it's wild because you're not just practicing words you're thinking in English without even trying it feels so natural that's amazing but what if someone's too tired to study at night any tips it doesn't have to be hard just pick something simple read a short article watch a relaxing video or even listen to an English podcast keep it light and enjoyable that's a good point and you know this habit can also help you sleep better English podcasts or audio books can be calming like a bedtime story for adults totally plus you're combining relaxation with learning
it's a winwin so to everyone listening try setting aside 10 minutes tonight it could be the start of a whole new habit yeah make it the last thing you do and let English guide you into your dreams who knows you might wake up feeling more confident already love that give it a shot tonight and let us know how it goes spend more time with yourself and now for habit number five spend more time with yourself this one's a little different but it's so important yeah it might sound surprising but many studies show that we're actually
more effective when we're alone that's true when you avoid out side distractions you can really focus on what matters like your English learning exactly and here's a big one don't tell people you're learning English I know it sounds strange but there's a reason for it this sounds interesting why not tell anyone aren't goals better when they're shared not always when you announce your goals it actually decreases your chances of success really how so well once you share your goals you start giving away some of your energy to others you might worry about how they see
your progress or whether you're meeting their expectations that stress can distract you wow that makes sense so instead of focusing on your goal you're caught up thinking about what others think exactly spending more time with yourself helps you stay focused and calm no outside judgment no extra pressure just you and your learning yeah because whether people judge you or even support you you're still being influenced by them that's not always helpful right so keep your English Journey personal make it your little secret and let the results speak for themselves love that and that wraps up
today's episode everyone we hope these five habits inspire you to make 2025 your English year yeah all right if you're struggling to stay consistent with habits there's a tool we love that can help it's called habitify it's a simple app that tracks your habits and keeps you on track right you can plan your habits set reminders and see your progress over time it's perfect for building a routine especially if you're working on your English every day all right guys thanks for listening and let us know how these tips work for you see you in the
next episode bye for now and happy learning [Music]
