when I first got the DJI osmo pocket 3 I didn't like it I let it collect dust for over a year even though I had the Creator combo it wasn't until I got the right accessories learned how to maximize the camera where now today it is considered one of the top five purchases that have genuinely improved my life I used to only do sit down teaching Style videos but it wasn't until this camera where I really started getting comfortable with vlogging and tapping into a whole other dimension to my content there is just something about
this camera that unlocks a whole level of creativity and authenticity and in today's video I want to show you the exact accessories that got me started with using this camera finally the different ways that I maximize the use of this camera and some bonus nice to have accessories that I recently discovered that have actually been quite gamechanging so without further Ado let's dive into the video so of course we got to get the Creator combo out of the way the Creator combo comes with a multitude of accessories for instance a tripod an extender a battery
pack wide angled lens protective case carrying case wrist strap microphone the list goes on and on and I personally think the Creator combo is worth it even though I had the Creator combo and still didn't use my djo pocket the main accessories that I use a lot from the Creator combo is the battery pack if you're going to be vlogging filming for long periods of time this is essential I also use this extender a lot and the reason why is because you could put attachments there for example the tripod that the Creator combo comes with
but for me I actually use this for other reasons and I'm going to explain more later in this video I also use the wide angled lens a lot especially when I'm traveling and I want you guys to see more of my environment sometimes it's just not cute having it so close up to my face and I've got short arms and so the wide-angled lens helps me a lot and of course the microphone is something that I use a lot for various reasons number one is noise cancelling I once did a what's in my bag video
near a body of water with a bunch of boats and it was so loud thank goodness that I had the microphone because it made a huge difference towards the result of the video let me do a quick what's in the bag we're waiting for my uncle right now so this is the bag that I'm wearing give me one second I've also used this when I felt very shy to talk in public for example I was on a flight where everybody around me was sleeping but I really had some thoughts that I wanted to share in
my Vlog and so I turned this microphone on and I started whispering in the microphone and the crazy thing is is you can't really tell that I'm whispering at all in the final result and this was great because as I'm whispering it's not disrupting other people and I also feel more comfortable to actually Vlog in public I am on this flight because I am headed to Asia to Source teas for our product that is really interesting the third way that I use this microphone that I think is a very underrated way of using this microphone
is I record my voiceovers so what a lot of people don't know is you can actually turn this microphone on alone without turning on your DJ asmo Pocket and then you can record whatever you want for my voice over that I did for my Hong Kong Vlog I actually recorded everything just using the microphone alone once I was done I plugged in the microphone into the computer got the audio file and used that for editing my video and so personally I think for the microphone alone the Creator combo is worth it now on to the
fun part which is the game-changing accessories that actually got me to use this camera the first accessory that I want to introduce to you and this one's by far my favorite is the ulanzi cage this is basically a cage that you put around your DJI osmo pocket and then it clicks like this and it'll stay on and there are various reasons why I love this cage the first one being the ability to add a wrist strap this alone has been game-changing for vlogging especially when I'm traveling out and about a lot of times it's really
annoying when you want to capture the moment but your camera is at the bottom of your purse and you have to get it and then the moment's gone and is just so much friction but the moment that you add a wrist strap you're able to walk around with your camera and still be handsfree and so a wrist strap to me is essential now being able to add the wrist strap is one of three reasons why I love this ulanzi cage the second one being that there is a slot right here where you can add different
accessories but I personally have found that this is the perfect fit to put the microphone and so when I'm Vlogging and I'm out in the bout now I also have the microphone with me at all times now the third reason why I like the ozi cage is because in the back here there is a screw thread and you can add any attachment in the back here as well now I do have the instago 3 and with the instago 3 it actually came with a sticky attachment where I can mount the instago 3 on any surface
now unfortunately this camera didn't work out for me the version I have didn't film in 4k and I honestly thought that this camera was very gimmicky and so I just didn't really use it but I do use the sticky Mount and so what you can do is with the ulanzi cage and the sticky Mount you can simply screw it on and now I'm able to attach my DJI osmo pocket onto any surface this was really helpful when I was traveling I put this on glass walls I put it on the train I put it on
various different areas now you do have to be careful though because you want to make sure that the sticky part is really clean because if it's not your DJI osmo pocket will fall now I research and you can get this sticky Mount separately so I've linked it in the description box below I've also seen a magnetic version on Amazon as well so I'll also link that too now this is only 75% of my vlogging setup the next step is I will take this extender and I will put it at the bottom here and rather than
using the tripod that the Creator combo comes with which to be honest is so clunky and is so long like who wants to Vlog with this who wants to hold this out in public I actually bought a $10 stand that I found on Amazon instead I put it down at the base and now I'm able to put my DJ osmo Pocket onto any flat surface to me this has been so much more discreet and it fits better on the palm of my hands now on the topic of this little extender here I want to show
you another accessory that has been gamechanging for vlogging especially when I am traveling let me introduce to you the small rig magic arm this is so helpful for solo vlogging or if you're someone that wants to get a very interesting angle or shot so as you can see at the bottom of your DJI extender there is a screw thread all you have to do is just screw this on now with it screwed onto your DMO pocket you can actually clamp this onto any surface because as you can see here it is totally adjustable you can
basically twist this into any shape and I've used this for taking footage in the car I've used this for putting it on my luggage when I'm traveling I've put it on the tray when I am in the airplane and the best part about it is once you fold it up it is actually not that big of an accessory it fits most of my purses for example my Chanel backpack which is not a very big backpack now these were the accessories that got me started with actually using my DJ osmo Pocket and getting into vlogging but
one thing I want you to know is even if you have the best accessories best camera best shots it's still not enough sometimes to keep your viewer entertained and watch your actual video that's why I want to introduce today's sponsor epidemic sound now adding music to make my videos more engaging has been kind of tricky for me a lot of people love it and a lot of people hate it and I actually used to use music for my videos but then I got a lot of complaints it's probably because my music sounded like this consistency
if you actually want to grow your YouTube channel you have to be consistent on the platform and so because of this I stopped using music for years but when I watched other big YouTubers their videos they're all using music and that's when I realized the issue isn't that I'm using music the issue is that I'm picking the wrong songs and that I didn't sign up for epidemic sound it wasn't until I signed up for epidemic sound and saw how easy it was to get the right music for my videos where I started to reintroduce music
to my videos again for example in epidemic sound you can search by category so if you want to do something for vlogging it's going to show all the music that's going to be suitable for vlogging if you want to do more of a talking head style or a podcast style it's also going to show you music that's going to be good for that beyond that you can also search by mood and this is my favorite way to actually find music for my videos because at the end of the day it's really about how you want
people to feel for example whether or not they want to feel relaxed while you're having a heart-to- heart with them like this or whether you want them to feel excited as you start a new chapter like this now a funny story is that when I used to stress a lot about music I actually watched a video from think media and they talked about if there is a copyrighted song that you want to use you should Google the beats per minute of that song and then look for other restriction-free music with that same BPM now you
can do the exact same thing on epidemic sound but now you can actually take that a step further if there is a mainstream copyrighted song that you really want to use go on epidemic sound search up that song and epidemic sound will show you all the different Alternatives that are restriction free that will not get you flagged for copyright that is literally the same vibe as the song that you likeed adding music Alone can really Elevate the vibe of your video and if you want to try out epidemic sound just click the link in my
description box or in my pin comment below for a free trial you can also use the code Vanessa for 50% off your first two paying months with epidemic sound but make sure you redeem the Vanessa coupon soon because the offer only lasts until March 15th now to help you get started I also compiled all of the songs that I've used in my Vlogs in my epidemic sound playlist so I've linked them in the description box below as well now so far in this video I've shared the top accessories that got me started with really using
the DJ asmo pocket but I also want to talk about the ways that I maximize my djaso pocket to the point where I pretty much use this camera almost every day the first is I use my DJ asmo Pocket as a webcam and this has been game-changing for me so all you have to do is plug your djo pocket into your computer click on webcam and now when you're in your Zoom meetings or when you're doing scre screen recording you can actually choose your DJ asmo Pocket as your webcam and the best part is the
face tracking feature on the djo pocket works and so if you're having a meeting and you have the face tracking turned on you don't have to worry about the person not being able to see you I also discovered that if you have your DJI mic already wirelessly connected to your DJ osmo Pocket and then you turn on your osmo pocket as a webcam it's going to also give you the ability to connect to the microphone and so your meetings and your screen recordings could also be attached to your DJI mic as well this is gamechanging
especially if you are someone that doesn't have a good microphone for meetings or you don't have a good microphone for screen recordings another way that I was severely underusing the osmo pocket 3 is I was not using the mimo app this is an app where you can easily see where you are in the camera you can adjust your settings you can turn on beauty mode you can do a bunch of things with the mimo app alone but to take it a step further my friend zy which by the way you guys should definitely follow on
YouTube and on Instagram she is the DJI osmo pocket Queen she taught me that I could actually use the app on an iPad this was completely gamechanging to the point where I actually bought an iPad Mini because now when I'm Vlogging and I want to have my osmo farther away from me in the room I can connect the app to my iPad and be able to frame myself for example in this Vlog right here where I was on my treadmill I was able to easily see myself and move my osmo around so I can see
if I'm in frame I was also able to control the osmo gimbal so you could see the rest of my gym and I was also able to just stop recording so I can continue working out on my treadmill now of course you don't need to have an iPad to be successful with using the osmo pocket but it is a nice to have just having like an extra viewfinder and again you can also use your iPhone another way where I was severely underusing my osmo pocket was not realizing that I could actually attach my osmo onto
a regular tripod so what I did was I took my iPhone tripod and I unscrewed the attachment for the iPhone and then I screwed on my osmo pocket I I don't know if I'm just dumb I had no idea that I could actually do that and so that was really helpful because once I had the tripod and I had the tracking feature turned on I was able to do shots like this it's basically like having a cameraman with you when you're vlogging or making videos even though you're making these videos on your own and you
can also use this for short form content by simply flipping the osmo pocket into portrait mode it makes it so much easier to film a day in the life and also it makes it a lot more interesting for your viewer as well underrated setting that made me use my DJI osmo more is realizing that there is actually a hyperlapse mode so if you actually turn this on you're going to be able to do time lapses hyperlapses whether it's vertical or horizontal now there are two accessories that I didn't mention earlier in this video because these
accessories are still quite new to me but they have been very game-changing for me so far and I want to give them an honorable mention because I personally feel like they're nice to have the first one is the ND filter so an ND filter is basically like a pair of sunglasses for your DJI osmo pocket when I saw my friend zy use it I was mind blown because I always thought that her camera quality was so much better than mine and she told me that it was because she was using an ND filter so she
showed me in real life what it looked like and I was mind blown when she told me that she was just using Auto settings she's not filming in dlog M she's not using any complicated settings all she's using is the ND filter and so of course I had to cop one myself self okay and then apparently you can like adjust it so I can oh this is dope this is cool so I can adjust the exposure with the lens itself without touching my osmo settings not only is this helpful for filming indoors but it's especially
helpful for filming Outdoors to make sure you get the best colors and to make sure your footage is not blown out by the Sun or bad weather if you're curious about my settings I film in 4k 30 frames per second if I ever think I'm going to do slowmo shots I'll do 60 frames per second but I keep it at 30 because it just takes up Less storage I always film in 4k if I can I am also an auto settings type of gal you will never catch me filming in like H log or dlog
M or anything like I just don't have time for that I will just film in Auto I have made my exposure minus three just because sometimes the osmo does make things brighter than they are honestly don't even ask me what this side means I just keep it to whatever osmo tells me to do in terms of the glamour effects I do have that on to just make my skin look a little softer you know you know Focus mode is continuous white balance is just set to whatever osmo tells me to do uh I'm a very
simple girl and this has worked just fine now right now I have the ND filter off if I sound weird I'm not wearing the microphone right now so let me put the ND filter on not sure if you see a difference but I can also swap the dial around and make things brighter if I want or darker if I want and sometimes when I go darker I feel like it increases the quality almost and so I just do everything on auto setting and this ND filter has been great in just making live adjustments as I
go now speaking of my friend zy she also put me on to my newest upgrade and that is the DJI mik mini so you guys get a better idea of what comes with the DJI Mike mini if you get both microphones together you're going to get the charging case two microphones two magnetic Clips I'll show you later how this works the receiver itself two options for the wind screens for extra noise cancellation you just basically pop these onto the microphone like so audio cable which allows you to connect this to a camera a cute carrying
case and an adapter for your iPhone now this is USBC so if you have an older iPhone like I do that uses lightning you may have to buy an extra part like this which will be compatible for your iPhone and what you'll notice is I'm actually wearing it right now so this video is filmed with the DJI Mike mini now if you have a regular YouTube camera what you can do is you can just slide the receiver on top like this and then on the side here with the audio cable you just want to connect
that into the headphone jack just like this now the reason why I think getting the two microphone set is really worth it is because I'm using one right now to film this tutorial on my osmo pocket 3 and then with my spare microphone not only can I use this for interviews or Leon can use it when we're filming content together but I can also use it for my other camera so what I'm going to do is I'm going to turn on the receiver and then on my second microphone I'm I'm going to turn it on
as well now since I'm already connected it's going to show mic one connected with the Green Dot but if it doesn't connect all you have to do is hold down this connection button right here now there is this dial over here but I honestly have never used it this is exactly how I use this microphone for my YouTube videos and with the video you're watching right now that's the quality that you're going to get without fussing with these settings so it's pretty plug andplay which is why I like it the DJI Mike mini connects wirelessly
to my DJI osmo pocket as well now how this microphone can connect wirelessly with your DJI osmo pocket is you just scroll down like this then click on this button hit wireless mic hit on this button and then over on the microphone you just want to turn it on once it flashes green you then want to click on this button and hold it down and wait for it to connect it's going to start flashing blue as you can see it's now connected so you can use this microphone with the DJ osmo Pocket wirelessly without necessarily
using the receiver and just so you guys can see the size difference this is basically how small it is now personally I never really use it with the wind screen on but with the wind screen this is the size difference so you can see it is still quite tiny and for comparison's sake this is what the DJ Mike mini sounds like I'm going to attach it right here with the magnet so you can compare the audio difference and then this is the mic that comes with the Creator combo and I will also put it over
here with the magnet for comparison sake as well so this is the difference let me know which mic you prefer better and I also use it to film my iPhone content now let me explain now I have the lightning version of iPhone so I'm going to connect this to the receiver all I got to do is just slide it on like this depending on what phone you have you're either going to use the USBC adapter or the lightning adapter it is honestly so plug- andplay so once you put it into your iPhone you turn it
on connect the microphone and then you can start filming short form content I filmed plenty of content over on my super Boba page using this microphone hi I'm Vanessa and I'm Leon and one of the reasons that whole journey started was because we were spending way too much money on vobo runs and we were gaining a lot of weight now big reason why I have been loving this DJI mik mini is because I used to have the wireless Pro from Road and I barely use this microphone because it is just so big I see so
many creators use this and I'm like why it is so clunky like look at it and when I put it on my shirt it just like flops over and so I personally think that as a female Creator as a woman Creator this just isn't the vibe whereas with this it is so discreet it is so small not only can I just clip it onto my shirt but it also comes with a magnet so I'm able to put it anywhere on my body now the only drawback I think from the DJI Mike mini is I personally
kind of wish that it fit my setup better so you know how I was telling you that this microphone fits perfectly here well this one is just so small that it does slide but I feel like it would fall off and so I'm a bit too afraid to use this if I'm out of and about or I might just have to keep it in my purse and then bring it out if I really need to and so for that reason I feel like I would still use this microphone just because it fits my personal setup
better when I'm out and about vlogging but lately when it comes to making videos indoors I definitely prefer this microphone they do sell just the single one I personally bought the Dual one because Leon Also may use it as well and so definitely recommend now there is one more accessory that I forgot to mention and this is the sunny life case that I've seen a lot of creat use over on Tik Tok or just in general and basically what it does it just protects your osmo and this gives me peace of mind when I throw
this in my purse the only drawback is if I use the wide- angled lens it will not fit and so I often don't really have this on if I'm prioritizing having the wide angled lens or I will just not carry the wide angled lens just so that I can protect my osmo especially if I know majority of the day my osmo is going to be in my bag and so in this video I really showed you all of the accessories that I use for my osmo pocket I don't think I missed a single one and
if I did I will do a follow-up video let me know which accessory was your favorite or what you learned from this video If you learned anything yeah I definitely recommend the osmo pocket personally I think that the best camera for you is the camera that you will actually use I see a lot of people complain that the osmo isn't as good quality as a Sony camera like this and I'm like that's not the point the point is that it is easy enough for you to grab and go so that you create content with I've
created so many videos on the osmo more than I ever have like vlogging wise with this camera that I'm filming with right now even for like my talking head videos like I've done full talking head teaching videos using the osmo pocket as well and so I just want you to know that this camera is not just good for vlogging it's also good for YouTube in general and this would be the camera that I would recommend to any person that is trying to start a YouTube channel or is trying to get into vlogging now speaking of
vlogging if you are someone that wants tactical tips on how to get over vlogging overwhelm all the steps that I take to bring my Vlogs to life then make sure you check out this video next as always guys I appreciate you and I hope to see you in this video right here
