girls high school and a prestigious historic Institution for young ladies totally cut off from the boys at Chidori public high school Chidori was was a lower ranked School wear as he put it morons gathered Kiko had a glaring disdain for Chidori and ren had never seen what their classrooms were like the girls from Kiko didn't associate with Chidori students any more than necessary despite being right next door that was the extent of their interaction and they likely never saw each other after graduation as they headed to class Ren checked his phone Yami asked him to

go to Koke after school but Ren declined because a girl had asked him for help after 6:00 p.m. Yami teased Ren about having a girlfriend but Ren denied it after school a person reminded Ren that it was already 6 and that he was late Ren excused himself saying the school was far away and it had rained on the way back Ren asked why she needed his help noting that he wasn't an approachable person she replied that they only had one customer at the time and since it was raining outside she didn't expect anyone else to

come they were short staffed in the back and ren was the only free person available so she left him to help Ren wondered why he was surrounded Ed by such self-absorbed people he then put on the uniform and thought about how his family owned a bakery shop sometimes they asked him to help out but he never told his friends about it he then took a look at the customer as he watched she took a bite of cake eating in a very distinctive manner when she realized he was looking at her she became embarrassed he apologized

aato reassured him that it was still a good score then Saku called out to Ren and asked if something had happened to him recently Yami questioned if it was for real ioto chimed in noting that Ren had been acting strangely Saku urged Ren to share if he was worried about something but Ren hadn't told them anything not even about the wound on his forehead Ren debated internally whether he should tell them about wagu he wondered if it was worth discussing and if they would start talking about kikel he anticipated their reactions and decided he couldn't

that Saku had never done that before after hanging out until evening Ren headed back home noting that it was already past 7 yet the store's lights were still on indicating it wasn't closed yet he entered and announced his return mentioning that his mother had left the door unlocked to his surprise he found wagu there she expressed her happiness at finally seeing him again Ren asked her why she was there she bowed and apologized explaining that she had caused the scene at the school gate and hadn't realized the severity of the feud between Chidori and Kiko

Ren assured her that he wasn't angry about it so it was okay his mother came and mentioned that he should at least text her when he would be home next time he apologized for not doing so and then his mother told him that wagu had been waiting for him there for a long time she then asked wagu if she had some more time and if she wanted to have the leftover cakes wagu apologized for not being able to stay longer and said that it was fine but suddenly her stomach grumbled due to hunger she felt

turns his face and admits she is right Saba supposes he understands that he won't need to see wagu after this and declares she won't let wagu near the likes of Chidori Ren thinks her icy cold stare is intimidating wagu asks her to drop the matter subber replies that wagu doesn't need to worry because she will protect him just then Ren's friends arrive Yami sees the girls to and says he can't believe it aato recognizes the girls by their uniforms subba comments that they keep increasing in number Ren feels like someone is going to kill him

Yami asks the girls if they are from Kiko and wonders if they need anything from Ren though he doubts they would even talk to him initially Saba ignored his words and told wagu to hurry up saying there was no point in wasting any more time there and she referred to those boys as Apes wagu was trying to stay and talk to Ren Yami feeling offended asked whom she was calling Apes he leaned towards wagu and said that he had seen her before suddenly Ren pulled Yami back and Saba took wagu away Ren told Yami to

stay away from wagu Yami asked what was going on insisting that he hadn't done anything Rin apologized for that Ren thought that his body had moved on its own to protect wagu but Yami only got closer to her as Saba took wagu away she said that she didn't want wagu anywhere near them wagu asked her to wait then Saku remarked that Kiko must be weird always talking about being the best and brightest but she still hadn't answered their question he wondered if they were suggesting she wasn't smart and if he was supposed to think of

and the next they were being polite and he didn't know whom to trust anymore Ren wondered if Yami had trusted any of them before then Yami pointed out that there was still someone else who hadn't apologized he asked Saku if he was going to do it Saku rudely replied asking if they wanted to keep being insulted like that Yami said that the beastly side of Saku was coming out Ren asked them to stop fighting ayato said it was fine and that they had already made up earlier aato then asked about their plan and if they

replied that she planned to share them with wagu and Med while they studied wagu reminded her that they couldn't eat inside the Library the scene shifts to Ren who was studying he thought about how he had been at that desk for so long but he was still getting the wrong answers he wondered why he was struggling after all the time Saku spent teaching them rinn felt he should at least understand what Saku had taught him and wasn't that something wagu had also taught him he wondered if it was really fine for them to study together

after everything that had happened last time just then he received a text from wagu asking if she could call he wondered what had happened and if she needed him he texted her back agreeing and she called him she told him she was nearby and asked if he was Ren Ren thought her voice sounded higher than usual Ren confirmed he was on the call and asked if something had happened she said it would be quicker to explain over the phone and apologized about her friend explaining that Saba was really a nice person wagu admitted it might

pointed it out they both pulled back slightly her because of the proximity he confirmed that it was correct then they both began to check the questions Ren felt like his heart was pounding as they were studying she asked if she could ask a question sensing his reluctance she wondered if there was a reason he didn't want to fail that particular test Ren explained that their school had the sports day after the midterms and if they failed they wouldn't be allowed to participate they would also have to attend extra classes and he wanted to be there

with his friends so that's the reason he apologized saying he knew it was a dumb reason she reassured him saying it was not dumb at all she thought it was an incredible reason wanting to have fun with his friends on sports day he thought she was so nice and as he was drinking water she remarked that it meant he loved his friends he nearly choked on the water she asked if he was okay and if he needed a napkin he replied that he was fine but questioned why she said he loved his friends she asked

he denied being wago's boyfriend leaving Saba to inquire about the nature of his relationship with wagu he wondered what he really was to her and thought that even if she asked him he still didn't have any clue Saba asked if he had recently met wagu Ren confirmed and she remarked that it would simplify things stating that she didn't want him to see wagu anymore he was surprised Gathering his courage to ask if it was because he was from Chidori she agreed he argued that things between Chidori and Kayo weren't good but his and wago's relationship

had nothing to do with that Saba acknowledged that he might not be a bad person but she had overheard terrible things about him and his friends at the library earlier she apologized for that and explained that she had personal issues with boys from Chidori when she saw Ren with wagu she panicked he asked why she panicked she replied that if anyone from Kayo School saw them together like that wago's life would be ruined because the Kayo teachers despised Chidori students even more than the students did if they found out out that wagu a scholarship student

was associating with someone from Chidori no one knew what would happen to her Ren thought that it all seemed a bit extreme but when it came to Kiko anything was possible he then asked Saba why she was going to such lengths for wagu just then a child ran over and collapsed nearby subber rushed to check if he was okay and then handed him over to his parents the boy complimented sub's hair color calling it pretty and super cool his mother reminded him to thank the girl first and they left Saba then explained to Ren that

wagu had told her the same thing once when they were younger boys used to bully wagu a lot because of her hair and she would only cry at those times Ren realized that this was why Saba was wary of guys Saba continued recalling a time when wagu came to her rescue shining as brightly as the sun since then wagu had been her hero and they had been Inseparable Ren mentioned that he had heard about this from wagu Saba expressed that Ren couldn't possibly understand as he knew nothing about wagu she explained that wagu had worked

incredibly hard to get into Kiko and Saba couldn't stand to see everything she had sacrificed crumble before her Saba acknowledged that she knew her request wasn't fair but she begged him to believe her she feared that if anything happened wagu might end up hating her even so if it meant protecting wago's happiness she was willing to accept that she pleaded with Ren not to see wagu anymore Ren reflected on all the things about wagu and apologized saying he couldn't do that Saba became emotional and expressed that she had expected him to say something like that

so he gets up to leave one girl exits and tells him she wanted to thank him for before the second one says that before he gave them his table the first asks if he remembers Ren recalls that time and asks about it they say they weren't able to thank him before and apologize by bowing they thank him he asks if they made some progress they agree and ask him if he wants anything from them he declines and says he is glad to hear that they are getting some good studying in so he is leaving as

he left they said that they were getting so nervous and that the boy was really really nice but still scary Ren moves to a distance in the train and stops at a point he thinks that it came out of nowhere and he never thought they would thank him he just couldn't get used to that but still they were nice even though they were scared of him he thinks they need to fix the AC in the train because it's so hot he remembers that wagu always thanked him even for the little things he could picture her

saving Saba clear as day but what if something does happen to wagu because of him that's how he feels and he doesn't regret it then he looks at the sky and notices is there are no stars the scene shifts to the day of the midterm exam results and C tells all the students that he has the grades for their final exams he then calls Yami and Ren and shows them their results they passed all the students go crazy upon hearing that they couldn't believe Ren and Yami really passed the exam one notices that Ren got

more than 50 marks and Yami got just enough to pass by one Mark Saku wonders what's happening aato remarks that Ren and Yami finally did it they give them both the title of not a failure and tell them to start their interviews then Saku asks Yami to share how he's feeling currently Yami replies that he stared at the answer sheet for so long that he lost his ability to see then they ask Ren how he's feeling Ren says he's so happy Yami shakes Ren and says they sure worked hard Ren asks him to stop shaking

him two students come and tell Ren and Yami to go and win the sports day for them they're counting on them both Ren and Yami are shocked to see those two failed they then find K crying as well saying that those two work so hard and all the credit goes to Saku Saku asks them to stop embarrassing him Yami said that it really was all because of Saku then Yami and ren thanked Saku for his help aato told them not to worry and that Saku just wasn't good at sharing his feelings Saku asked what he

said aato asked him where Saku was going as he followed Saku Saku asked him not to follow then they started running in the classroom Ren thought that it might be the first time he had felt so happy and that was all thanks to wagu and he had to tell her but as he took out his phone he remembered Saba's words Saku and iato were running in the class Saku asked if they didn't listen and he accidentally made Ren's desk fall he apologized and returned Ren's books Ren replied that it was no problem and then asked

Saku if he was hurt Saku found the notebook wagu provided him and wished Ren all the best for his exams as well Ren asked Saku what's that Yami came by asking was something up iato pointed at the book and asked if that was wagu Ren snatched the book saying don't read that ayato asked wasn't wabu the girl from the library earlier Yami was surprised to hear and asked wasn't she from Kayo aato asked why Ren had that book from her Saku said that Ren ran into wagu at the library saying he wanted to apologize to

her but something seemed off and ren had been acting weird for a long time he even defended Kiko for no apparent reason Saku demanded to know what he was hiding insisting it was nothing as usual Ren replied that he didn't want to tell Saku and a oliz for that just then K shouted at them asking what they were doing and told them to start cleaning because they didn't have the whole day for it the floor was a mess from all the confetti from their party poppers and they had scattered the answer sheets all over the

room so they needed to hurry up and they would start the class once they were done cleaning Ren got up as well and Yami asked Saku to race to see who could clean faster but Saku declined Ren apologized to aato for earlier and iot replied that it was nothing to mention just then they saw saw Saku leave from there after school Ren was at home and thought that he screwed up big time he wondered why he said such things it didn't sound remotely like him he hoped that whatever it was it wasn't still inside that

notebook he thought to thank wagu so he texted her she was happy to hear from him and said that it meant he could enjoy his sports day with his friends she wanted him to have fun with everyone and hear all about it later Ren then remembered Saba's words and worried about what would happen to her wagu noticed that he read her text and wondered what they would do for sports day whether it would be soccer baseball or basketball the next day at school Yami asked Fato what they were going to do about Saku and ren

because they were sitting very far apart and they had been like that since the previous day wondering why Saku picked a fight with Ren iato said it looked like it was yami's turn to help get Saku and ren to make up Yami asked what an iato replied that it was Ren then he wore the sports dress and mentioned that there were three days left until the sports day and it was baseball that year he suggested they go to the batting cages and get some practice swings in Saku denied and ren also declined saying he had

something to do that day Yami became disappointed and said he couldn't take any more heartbreak ayato commented that Yami was pathetic then Ren left for home and as Saku was leaving Yami and aato grabbed his hand and said he was going with them Saku asked what's that aato asked why they didn't go for a walk in a place he wanted to hit up Saku told them there was nothing to talk about aato asked if he was sure about that getting emotional Saku said that he was pissed off by that ayato asked him if he really

couldn't stand that Ren hangs out with a Kayo girl Saku replied that it wasn't like that but Ren didn't trust them even though they were friends aato said they didn't realize that Yami mentioned that he thought Saku was Stone Cold because he was always insulting them Saku apologized Yami then realized that he hit Saku when he was down Saku said that the only way a guy like him could withstand that school was because Ren was there for him so if Ren needed Saku Saku would be there and they had to remember what kind of person

for Ren that he didn't sense anything was up and they wouldn't know what that something was until Ren told them himself they shouldn't worry and he knew that one day Ren would tell them about it then they all decided to eat something the scene shifted to the bakery where Ren's mother asked him if there was something wrong because he looked down Ren replied that it was nothing she said she knew him like the back of her hand so did he fail something again he denied it and said that he passed she commented that it was

a shock and he wasn't too down to tell jokes Ren insisted that he really passed surprised she asked if he passed by cheating he replied that he didn't cheat and she was really showing her faith in him she asked what his highest score was and he replied that it was 59 she commented that it was really high for Ren just then the door opened and she welcomed the customer Ren sitting behind the counter wondered why he was hiding there his mother noticed that the customer was wagu wagu greeted them and apologized because it was closing

time but she asked if they had any leftovers
