by clicking on this video there's a high chance or likelihood that you thought to yourself 2025 is the year I'm going all in on YouTube I think that's a great goal however how you achieve that goal is going to determine what results you'll see that's why today's department is the YouTube department and I'm going to be taking over 10 years of experience on YouTube and I'm going to be breaking down everything you need to know so that you do YouTube the right way welcome to the department it is Omar Dori and I have with me
art mosa what's up let's go and we're going to be breaking down all things YouTube and I'm going to do my best to be uh systematic in the way we deliver the information uh at the end of this podcast I'm going to be going through some live Q&A that we got from uh my Instagram and so by the way if you don't follow me there I would encourage you to and so with that being said um really want to quickly maybe encourage you with this reality you know uh I set out to do my own
personal YouTube channel you know I've gotten over 60 million views and over 2 million subscribers on think media as a creator for that channel and I wanted to make sure that I knew what I was talking about I knew my own philosophies and you know ideas about YouTube and how to approach it strategically and actually get results and it's so cool because like just in this year 2024 Y and it's not even the end of the year yet it's the beginning of December at the time of shooting this what is what's been the stats so
total views is 2.2 million watchtime hours is 470,000 hours 470,000 watch hours yes which is one of my favorite statistics on the back end of YouTube Let me let me just say convert 480,000 hours into years 54.76% and we're just talking in just this year keep going that's wild uh we gained almost 50k subscribers on the channel uh about to break 100K let's go super close and then estimated Revenue in total for the year was 50k $50,000 for posting a video a week I want to I mean our strategy is one video a week yep
and we weren't perfect no and so just putting things into perspective I have a very less as more approach when it comes to YouTube but that this is just 2024 stats guys like I just want you to be encouraged to know that this is possible not that you would get the exact same result results I hope you get better results but I I I had art bring this up because I just want people I just want you to know that this isn't um this isn't Theory I'm not I'm not sharing theories I'm sharing actual strategy
and proof so yeah also so 2.2 million views views for the Year by the way 1.8 million of those views 81% are not subscribed and 400k of those views are subscribed okay so I think that's a great place to start because uh I asked I asked Mariel um who's on the team I asked her where is she asked where is YouTube going or where has YouTube been and where is it going and let's just start this I conversation with this thing right what YouTube used to be m is it used to be all about building
your subscribers yes and unfortunately it is a it is the it is the measuring like I guess you could say the the way you measure success is like by the amount of subscribers you had I literally just cheered about the fact that we're about to past 100,000 subscribers I say that because like it's that's the way they reward you like it's a cool Milestone it's a cool Milestone and I've I've even I've gotten gold a golden plaque for a million subscribers and the thing about where YouTube is right now is it's actually less about subscribers
yeah and here is why it is more about the algorithm than it is about the audience and let me say that there are probably YouTube channels this might be one of them that you do not subscribe to but YouTube consistently serves you right what does this mean this means that the the algorithm is getting a lot smarter MH at serving certain kinds of videos to certain kinds of individuals and if you do the heavy lifting as the Creator you make it easier to be discover to be discovered which poses the biggest opportunity in my opinion
in the history of YouTube is that small channels can get discovered oh 1,00% because I remember in the beginning of YouTube it was YouTube is recommending people who have 50 million subscribers like PewDiePie and all those big Gamers that had a crazy amount of subscribers but now it's like I get people with 2K subscribers and or less or way less than that and and we're going to talk through like if that's you like maybe you're like you're you feel like your channel is small now what can you do to make sure that when YouTube promotes
your content how do you get that click right um but yeah I I I think at one point it was all about the subscription feed like you would go on a YouTube and I remember that I remember my own human behavior I go on YouTube I click subscriptions and see what do my what have my subscribers what the people I've subscribed to what have they released yes where where where where the the platform is kind of gone is kind of like the homepage and the homepage is just based on the content you watch which is
funny because if you're a parent just jacks up the whole thing because we just watch all the random stuff with because of Ruby but the homepage is now the place and so if you didn't know this um the way your videos get discovered on YouTube are kind of I would say one of four ways uh there is suggested or browse that's one way suggested or browse meaning you show up on the YouTube homepage you we I prioritize suggested in browse for this podcast yep the second way is recommended recom mended is when you're you come
up at the end of somebody else's video or you're shown at the you know uh if you're on a computer or a phone your video is on the same page of somebody that shares similar information to you so like that's what's cool about the YouTube back end when you post content consistently you get really good feedback from YouTube and on YouTube you could see who your audience is also watching that means that your content is being served next to these creators yeah and it's really cool cuz like there's been times where people are also watching
myin golden with people are also watching Ali abdal people are also watching Alex heroi so it shows that this podcast has is not too far from the those conversations happening on those channels and the audience that desires the information from those channels does that make sense yeah okay so we have suggested or browse we have recommended we have how I actually got my you know footing on YouTube and that is by search YouTube is a search engine and you can create search searchable videos that people discover you not because of their browse feed necessarily but
because they were looking for a specific information and then you show up delivering that information I've gotten so millions of views and it is a very strategic way especially for newer people no don't don't undermine the opportunity to just make the updated searchable video how to XYZ right okay and we're we going to go into all that you know titles and stuff and then the last that I would think is the most you know there there there a few others but they're not really that important would be external meaning maybe you posted a YouTube video
in a private community and then that private Community watched the video uh you'll see that in the back end of YouTube that like the majority of the views from this video came from an external place where sometimes you can create a video so good and I've done this like dude actually in the past I made a crafting video with my wife I don't remember it was like we were making a backdrop for a it was it was like the uh it was like a golden sequin yeah sequin wall and then the blog that we got
the idea from posted our video on their blog wow and we got hundreds of I think over 100,000 views on a video with a small Channel because our video was posted on a website that's external so it pretty much came up in Google search ESS Google search or people who actually went to that blog gotcha um so yeah those are those are the ways to be discovered on YouTube Hey Department fan wanted to take a brief break from this conversation I hope you're enjoying it as much as I am and the first thing I wanted
to talk about is that did you know that 75% of the people that watch this podcast on YouTube actually aren't subscribed which is a high chance that you're not subscribed so number one I want to say thank you for listening or watching the podcast and number two if you can hit that subscribe button that would be amazing the second thing is if you are an entrepreneur content creator or somebody looking to make money online I want to encourage you to come to this online event called the content to cash challenge this is a special 5day
event that's going to give you access to the system I use in my business to make multiple six figures with my content if you've been Desiring to either get your business and brand more exposure grow a YouTube channel whatever it is when it comes to video I would encourage you to jump into the content to cast challenge we'll be sure to post the link to the challenge down in the show notes or the description and want to encourage you to jump into the VIP experience this will give you access to a 1-hour Q&A call every
day of the challenge this will guarantee myself to answer a personalized question you may have so I'll see you on the content to cast challenge now let's jump back into the conversation what I'm hearing is I mean more than ever it's easier to be on YouTube technically because YouTube is pushing people that are specifically for you yeah because because YouTube is trying to regardless of numbers right YouTube wants to satisfy the viewer period like if you're if you're um if your time on platform is pleasureable meaning like you enjoyed your time chances are you're going
to stay longer sure so so that's why they prioritize you know specific content specific creators that have a very dialed in Niche right uh it makes it easier to suggest your content to a person like for example like watches like I get hit like I know the top watch creators now because I'm into that type of content gotcha and but but those guys are very clear on their actual what their channel is about and I think that's just something that you need to always ask yourself like what is my Channel about and if somebody was
in the hunt or or um like the idea of something like does my channel add to that idea so you say like is it easier than ever it seems like it's easier than ever to like win on YouTube I say yes and no and the reason I say yes and no is I do think it's yes as in they've they've made it possible for small creators to get discovered but the other side of it is because really the platform is going very algorithm heavy for suggested brows and recommended you know that like if we stop
uploading then it'll it'll die out quicker like our our viewership will die out quicker so what what what has actually happened is we've created this you know for a lack of better term like we've created this Beast that we now have to feed with a weekly upload and the moment we stop the the the quicker the drop off of the results now when I was doing stuff for think media we were making search-based content which usually when you release a video with search based content it doesn't usually always get a ton of views at first
but we'll look back on that video 6 8 12 months later and we're like oh dang I got a quarter million views so you can actually let off the gas from creating and because you have you know a base level of content that is search based it's good so yeah I mean those are going to do good over time yeah so that's kind of the um the pro and con of where YouTube's going is like although is like yeah you can get discovered and blow up quickly uh if you're not really committed at like being
serious at uploading consistently and uh being aligned with your messaging and all that stuff then then yeah you you'll see a drop off and so because like what the the demand for your content is going to die out right and I mean would you say we've seen that in some weeks sure I mean there's been I don't I don't give into too much because I I actually I understand the slump of of human consumption so like a lot of times there's a summer slump in on YouTube so like maybe we're just like you know for
whatever reason people are like vacationing like you know they're just they're but then you know during the the holiday time there's a lot more sitting down and just oh so you would say increases during the holidays yeah your your views should increase during the holidays because people have time off um and and yeah and just I know the consumption people are wanting to know what to buy people are wanting to know what's going on they going into the year like there's just so much you know uh there's so much predictability of the type of information
people are looking for so i s that to say yeah there's times where we upload and I'm like okay we got 10 out of 10 n out of 10 if you don't know this like when you upload a video YouTube ranks it the performance based out of the last 10 uploads and like the goal is to have a one two or three out of 10 that's like the perfect world but sometimes that's not not the case but this is why I want to encourage people with the idea that you always have the next upload it
goes to say too when you have a upload take off you have a video that takes off hey man like you can't celebrate for so long cuz it's like all right we got to hit it up again so you need to have like a big I think change your point of view with the approach to YouTube so if you if you want to kill it on YouTube in 2025 how about you change your mindset and say Hey how do we kill it on YouTube period okay so if you're if that's your approach then you're not
going to dwell too much on each upload whether it performs really good or bad because it's like the whole idea is just to keep it going and be consistent sure intentionally consistent um I wanted to break break down kind of the types of videos that you can upload on YouTube and I'll just say it from the top go through it and then we'll we'll break them down slowly so here are the types of videos that you can upload on YouTube you have what is called what I like to call a normal upload meaning you're uploading
a video that is that is horizontal or landscape AKA like this way not this way and it's and it's longer or just you're uploading a video that way right that is what you call a normal upload it's just it's a video that you upload to Youtube okay cool got it Omar great I I love it the next thing you also have is uploading podcasts to YouTube there's a difference between uploading a video on YouTube and uploading a video podcast on YouTube and you want to make sure that you specify it because YouTube categorizes it I'm
going through these types of videos because when you go on a channel you could see latest uploads podcasts if you upload you know via podcast then you also have lives or live streams and then you have shorts so the podcast upload just make sure that you are putting your podcast into a podcast playlist and then making sure that it shows up if you have a podcast on YouTube and you go on your YouTube channel and it doesn't give you the podcast tab you're doing it wrong and just make sure you do it right so if
you have a podcast the next thing is is live stream right you can you can go live on YouTube and I find it one of the best ways to get in the flow of creating because you you're not thinking about editing you're thinking about the delivery of the live and I'll tell you like doing a live in a way where it's likey all right let's just wait for everybody to come on like all right here we go that's not that's not good what would you say to someone that is like I don't want to film
a video because the editing is daunting or just the filming aspect is daunting um but also being live like that's I mean there's also a pressure there like like you're actually live and your mistakes are going to be seen and there's no redus yeah so what would you say the person that's right in the middle of that and it's so funny to to make a you know have a video like this because there's just so much Nuance but for the person I like to help I like to help the person who is either really good
at what they do they've been doing it for a really long time they're better than the beginner and they've been they maybe they even like passionate or obsessed to some extent about this topic or idea dang a thousand people just clicked off right now why why cuz you I mean can't help them oh I know yeah I mean what what am I trying to say or you don't like I'm not the best I mean I I really if you're a musician if you're trying to entertain like I'm like I'm not the best at that if
if you're trying to help whole another story educate inform all that stuff beautiful I actually think that's where the money is by the way too but if if you feel like it's if it's daunting I think it's only daunting because you just haven't done it enough okay so I I I help a lot of people who are really good at what they do you put a light in a camera in front of them and they freeze right um I I just would encourage them to just keep doing it you know like the there there is
seasonal approaches and the beautiful thing about seasons is you get to Define what the intent or the objective of the season is and so if you can if you can just accept or or or I I'll say redefine a season of giving you going all in on YouTube the first 90 days just make it about your development and your comfortability and confidence on camera MH so then so now you're looking at your videos through that lens like how do I become more confident more comfortable I would say if you want to be more confident and
comfortable on camera oftentimes it's like just simply talk about what it is you know like like the easiest thing that you like the most obvious thing if somebody asked you over a cup of coffee how do you do this that you wouldn't even have to think all that much to answer that question I would say make those kinds of videos that'll help uh the other side is this is why I love podcasting is because I don't you don't have to look into the lens right and so it's as if the cameras are not here and
the lights are not here even though there's there's lights and cameras but it's just it's a fly on a wall approach um you know I I think actually too some people are really good at teaching some people are really good at presentation and you don't when you're doing a presentation you don't have the luxury to edit that presentation you have to just deliver it so if there is actually um uh what I like to call if you have um visual aids maybe it's a slide deck maybe it's actually note cards so like having a you
know something that will keep you on track that should help too I I literally I have my notes for this podcast to help keep me on track so I would say that if you want to be more confident on camera lean into what you're competent in and you should appear more confident because you're not a great no it's great now what about the person who's not competent in anything no no I'm just kid dang all right next one that's a real question though what if I don't know what I'm good at I just want to
make YouTube videos great question because there there are a lot of people there um I think like should you be on YouTube at all then no I mean I here's here's my thing for some people creating content making videos and uploading them online is a form of creative expression sure like there are things I do that don't have a reason oh for every you know like there like what that's really good I just stump myself I think oh yeah I mean I guess I guess I don't I like I'm not golfing to GoPro it's great
I I golf because I enjoy it it's a it's an expression that gives me life MH and when I play well it gives me more life when I don't play so good it's why I keep coming back like sure so for some people it might be that same thing it's just it's an outlet you might be a W2 employee and you're like man this is a this is a cool thing that I'd like to like either chip away at or there's just something in me I want to get out to the World by all means
like go for it there's no nobody's telling you you you can't or shouldn't like go for it if you have if you're something you know I did a workshop this weekend we did a workshop and one of the people one of the plus ones that came with the people in the program they she asked like you know what if I'm passionate about multiple things I love chickens is just like I love chickens and you know rais having a farm but then I also love you know uh marriage and being a mother and all that stuff
and you know I was just like you know you could you could categorize all that under like the productive mother or the productive start a family channel start a yeah a Family Channel or the mothership you know I don't know whatever so I say all that to say I was like if if it's a creative expression for you then you should go ahead and maybe do it you know um it'll only it'll only be good like I mean what I say what do I mean by that it'll only be good as in you're you you're
put yourself in an uncomfortable situation but you're going to learn a skill you're going to learn how to edit a little bit and all that stuff so it's really good so then so yeah we cover you know and then there's shorts which Omar what is the thing about shorts and I mean if you have any questions about it but here's my thing with shorts okay I'm a firm believer that if you want to prioritize YouTube shorts then have a YouTube shorts Channel I don't I find it very rare that somebody is killing at 360 on
YouTube with long form shorts live like just doing it all right and those for those people that are killing it like content is their business they have a media company and it is about Mass viewership but the reason why I don't upload shorts on this channel is because as the creator of the content I get to determine the expectation for the audience and so if I start uploading very short content like YouTube shorts then people will discover me but they discovered me in a 30 second reel why would they watch a 1 hour and 20
minute episode it's going to be a very that's a very like small reality or like a very um uh what is it like that number is going to be way off so I would prefer you know having a shorts Channel and then having a channel where you upload your long stuff um and then yeah I mean that's interesting because often time maybe this is just me but I found myself when I see a short that I like or it was interesting I find myself going to the short section and seeing more parts of it or
seeing different versions of that short instead of like going to their videos and watching their videos and this is where this is where we get it wrong it's like many people get it wrong when it comes to content and it's it's it's very self-imposed content I mean hook sorry nothing wait like I'm gonna why aren't people watching my short and then being persuaded by watching my short to watch my long like well it's because human like psychology when we hit a short we're not looking to sit down and watch anything we're looking to literally just
brain rot yeah brain rot is that what it is say yeah it's a new word I would say yeah like you know just uh scroll and not we don't want to turn on our brains when people watch long form content you are more engaged doesn't even even long form entertainment content okay wait what would you say real quick to um someone like myON myON golden I would say his shorts are still very rich they are and then his long form content is very rich so what would you say is like the difference for him uh
yeah I mean his is his approach is building his you know overall personal brand like collectively and I think he he's landed on what would you say watching a myON short actually could lead you to click on one of his videos because his shorts are so rich probably eventually not in the moment okay right so I think because his shorts are so good and that not everyone can communicate this good so that's the other side of it but because the shorts are so good it probably plants a seed of all right at some point I
will at some point I will watch I so would you say it's shorts are a good subconscious marketing play I think so but again i' I would actually advise myON to upload them on a separate Channel though oh okay so so it doesn't even still at his level yeah cuz even the the the data is won 1% so when I was at think Media or when I was doing content for them MH when shorts got released and we started experimenting with shorts and we got viral shorts takeoff you know that number that we read like
when it's like 20 20 whatever wrapup it was like astronomically high right but then the but then the the watch time super low and then the the revenue super low and it's just like it made everything dirty it made yeah dirty data is what it made it so like I believe we we we could probably have 200 to maybe 300,000 subscribers if we leveraged all kinds of things because like some some shorts would have went viral and would have you know caused people to subscribe but again they're like they're subscribing because they like the short
you know like and so I want people every one of these subscribers I know they subscribe because they love the podcast sit down with you at least 15 minutes 20 minutes you know so by the way subscribe we're 5K away from 100K yeah we're pretty pretty excited about that um and so so yeah when I I told like there was a time where myin was going like a lot of uploads and I was like what it happened was it it made it from from someone who just loved clicking every single upload when you did it
once or twice a week it was just giving me it was I was like dang I just watched one yesterday like so you know to each his own you know everybody's got their own this is why I don't prescribe just one way of doing something I'll let you know my way and tell you what I've learned and what I know I'm missing out on by not doing it another way it's a very you know holistic approach but so I I don't I didn't want this to make this about shorts because shorts in it of itself
can yield an its own hour-long conversation uh all I'll say is the reason why I don't upload shorts is because I have a very my like I just have a patient and very big picture approach on my channel because I understand not all viewers are created equal not all listeners are created equal but if I'm getting people to hang out with me for a very long time that is a high quality listener and if we're talking about building influence and yeah you're not trying to blow up quick yeah that's I'm I'm chilling so those are
the types of videos um should we go into how to film first or the basics of YouTube growth I think how to film first because that is a big objection for people is like editing filming lighting all that stuff all that stuff all right Omar what camera do I film with is my phone okay or is you know quality is such a big thing nowadays but I I don't have a camera sure okay so you know maybe you've heard me teach this before maybe you haven't that's why I'm going to do it again so I
break down the filming process with a essentially a checklist framework and that is that that goes as if it goes alvs Alvis alvs right okay and it actually is in the order of importance of what matters here's what doesn't matter I'll say this what doesn't matter is technically how your how you look and how you sound on video like cuz we're so self-consumed and we care so much about it I chose this angle by the way CU it's way more prettier than your angle so you know I so there's there's always that level but I
I want you to get over the fact that you don't like I just don't like my voice I just don't I want to do it again I want to shoot that over again even though I shot it you know like um get over all that and just worry about these things so a stands for audio audio is 50% of the video viewing experience if not maybe more here's something I've learned that you can have poor video quality but really good audio quality and people will be still pleased to stay and watch because the audio sounds
good I like to say that audio creates intimacy with the viewer because this is why we sound so close like you might be listening to the audio podcast or you might be watching this on television or what on your phone but we feel close because our audio is so good right um the cameras are pretty far away so just make sure your audio is good what is good audio that you don't have to work to listen anytime you make it hard for people to consume your videos you actually create a resistance and now the thought
in a person's mind is their audio is gonna hurt me again or you know blow up my ears wait okay so literally speaking like humming there's a buzzing noise in your audio it's crunchy or sounds like it's breaking up yeah this is why I always say like do a test make sure like before you actually sit down and film whether you're using your smartphone or a camera or a camera hit record make sure your microphones are on uh and then give it a go it's not echoey but I'm saying this because some people have all
that stuff in their audio and they still feel like it sounds good because they're not self-aware 100 yeah and I would say the most fail prooof audio solution in my opinion is a wireless mic okay because it doesn't matter where you are it's going to always be really close to you so if you're and it's Wireless in the sense that like yeah there's no cables and all that stuff so um I love like you know the hollyland mics I love the DJ they they're actually they're all really good there's no need to like break down
which one but there's wireless mics these kinds of mics are called Dynamic mics if you plan on doing a podcast or you you want to do live streaming like shoot content at your desk or something these do really well because they they cut out a lot of exterior noises it's the best noise cancelling mic in my opinion even though they're adding features on you know the wireless mics that cancel out noises uh obviously you're not going to run around town with a mic like this but if you have a stationary setup having a dynamic mic
isn't a terrible idea um but it all kind of just goes to like what you you know your preference too so we have wireless mics that clip on your shirt doesn't matter how far or close you are to the camera captures the same and we have Dynamic mics you have to see it it's in the shot want you want it to get it close to your your mouth and then the third is a condenser mic or a shotgun mic the a lot a lot of like talking head YouTubers most of the time they're actually using
a shotgun mic which those kinds of mics would be out of the shot uh you might use a really wide lens and then you're close enough to the camera because the W the lens is so wide and the mic is on top of the camera or you're far from the camera and then you just have you boom it out of the shot so you don't see it right it'll be like this those mics are great because you can move your hands it doesn't matter what you're wearing sometimes with the um even the labs with my
chains and stuff they kind of like you know clink and clack or whatever and so use pick on your discretion I love wireless mics for most people and uh so that's audio something I learned about audio too is just also how you talk like how you communicate on on camera is you know you can get better by listening to your video without watching it right so film a video press play on your laptop or computer or on your phone turn it down and then listen yourself if you find yourself saying filler words like like um
um um uh uh like as I'm doing as I'm thinking or even like your Cadence like are you boring are you monotone your tamber how's your tamber are you trying too hard to prove yourself and that's coming off in your tone you know it's this is real this is all you know communication what is a tamber by the way it's The Sweet Spot of your voice that's yes I learned that from somebody who came to one of my workshops he's a vocal coach yeah it blew your mind and I was like how's my B my
mind too he's like bro your tamber is phenomenal I was like for show um so that's that's audio okay now we have I said Al lighting alvs light in just to put it just make sure that the largest light is lighting your face and make sure the light that lights your face is the temperature of daytime temperature you don't want to put a warm light on your face you want to put a daytime temp that's why I love using lights that usually don't have by color uh options um this would be a good place to
actually put the yanzi head and at some point anyway so um so you just want to make sure that you're lighting your face that's why sitting in front of a window not with direct sunlight but with the light coming in from the window is a great idea if you're just getting started and so just just make sure that you're lighting yourself uh you don't have to overthink it just get a nice light put it on your face call it a day then you have the visual or the video and this is this is yeah like
you you know use the best camera you have that doesn't prevent you from creating so some people actually have purchased cameras and you're not creating because you don't know how to work the camera but you have a smartphone readily available yeah that does 4K does 4K that shoots great video and here's what I love about the phone or here's what you need to know about the phone the best camera in your phone believe it or not is not the camera of the selfie screen right that's not the best camera the best camera is the the
main camera that you bought your phone and it defaults to so in this phone I have an iPhone 13 Pro because they're on the 14 now right that's not an iPhone 13 what do I have isn't that a 16 you upgraded no I didn't have so have the USB port yeah okay so it's 15 okay so like the 15 yeah it's it's the it's the lower lens so if I turn my camera reverse I look into that lens and that's how I create they actually make some Wireless monitors if you want to see yourself um
and you know if you want to be a phone Creator which you know you don't have to think about it too much it's great you can crush with your phone um just don't overthink it you know there's a ton of content that I made for think media that will help you with this stuff and then the the S is kind of like putting it all together it's kind of like the setup and the studio and we can even throw editing in that conversation but here's what I would say I'd rather you be really good at
creating videos that don't need to be edited than create videos that rely on it being edited so and I know this is not for everyone but the the the less you have to edit and yet the the the content value being really good I would say like you're on track to greatness because because it because the essentials are the essentials like editing shouldn't be the reason why your video is good so if you if you you know there's AI software there you know I think descript I think even like Adobe now but descript will remove
your filler words if you want to do that um you know if you want to you know EAS edit cap cut is probably the best beginners editing software and it's free and that the paid version is very inexpensive uh we use cap cut for several different things um as far as like you know social content goes and things like that but then again like people really don't even have to be putting their video in an editing software for them to be like successful and that's why like that's why I love like film if you want
to film videos film it chronologically you like just from start to finish because like if you were going to edit it together all you're doing is piecing together clips and then exporting one big video and then uh or you just deliver it like just deliver the video and it's okay that it's not perfect I actually think people will resonate with it more if you do come prepared in some sense and you talk about something you know and I would encourage you if we're if we're talking long form videos on YouTube Don't upload anything under eight
minutes and I say that because YouTube once you get monetized by the platform they'll add two ads to your video if you don't have YouTube red and you're watching the podcast you're probably going to get hit with like 30 ads I'm sorry for that but the reality is is that's how we made that $50,000 in a year is because people who don't pay for YouTube Red have to sit through ads which then we get compensated for that so the the longer your videos the better I think it incentivizes YouTube to um you know push out
your video but there's a way to get more views on YouTube without having to create overly produced content or videos and you do that by understanding how YouTube works and so you know we'll get into maybe more of the like editing production stuff later on with the Q&A but you need to understand what how YouTube works most people that actually show me their YouTube videos I don't need to watch your video to see that they're doing it wrong yeah I I and the the thing is is like we put in all our energy into the
meat of the video video when you won't even get people to that point if you don't understand how YouTube works and so how does YouTube work YouTube works I'll just say it like this I uh YouTube is not a video platform it's a packaging platform and it's not about the video you make it's about how you package the video you make I had a I had a pastor text me that um has a podcast and he asked me he's like hey what do you think about this video topic because he thought it was the topic
I told him no that's the answer to a greater better more attractive topic so he could have actually put in all this hard work and do this podcast on this topic he had in mind when people aren't really looking for that information they're looking for this and your topic is actually the answer to that so that is what you call packaging so good and the way you package YouTube videos is a collective effort around three things okay your title your thumbnail and the first 30 seconds of your video I call them the Triple T's of
YouTube success YouTube YouTube okay when you understand these things and this it goes like don't think okay I need to pay somebody to do this no you as the if you're coming up with videos and you're delivering it you better know how to do this stuff because the more better you are at it it's like it's like telling somebody hey I wrote wrot this book can you tell me what it's called read it first tell me what it's called no you wrote the book right what's the what's your book about what's it you tell me
the title you're the author of it I don't believe that somebody could name a video that came out of you and your soul and your essence better than you can but it does take some skill so when it comes to YouTube you want to consider what is called clickthrough rate and average view duration the click-through rate is based on people who saw your video when I say saw your video not click on it like saw it on their page whether their homepage or on the side of a video or when they search something and you
came up and you were one of the search results based on the amount of people that see that the clickthrough rate is how much what's the percentage of people who saw it and clicked on it now what's influenced by the click-through rate if you want obviously you want a high click-through rate if you want a good click-through rate or a high click-through rate you want to make sure that you're title in your thumbnail are good and we're going to talk about what makes a good title in thumbnail average view duration is is exactly what it
is it's how long do people on average stay on your video because when you upload a 10-minute video to YouTube not everyone most people are not watching all 10 minutes usually it's just a just I don't know 40% that's usually the case you know 30 to 40% so we upload hourlong videos but the average view duration is like 17 minutes this is why I say upload long videos upload long videos because the longer video you upload the longer average view duration you can have for your YouTube for your YouTube video because on an 8 minute
video it's probably like two minutes or no way less than that potentially yeah so what people would tell you what most YouTube you know Educators and people would tell you is that it starts with clickthrough rate I would argue and say it starts with average view duration and why I say that because when some when you have a title in a thumbnail that is so good it it causes people to start viewing your content in their head what do I mean by that I mean they start processing your video sure wait a second yeah so
oh YouTube's not tracking this because they're just they're actually just processing the package of the video that came on their feed that's average view duration and average view duration is all influenced by giving people reasons to stay and watch this is why I say the first 30 seconds is so important because that is you're you're you're you're telling your case as to why people should stick around and watch yes there I mean if you heard the term clickbait it's because you gave people a reason to watch and and then you didn't meet that reason so
that's why it's called clickbait but but clickbait isn't always bad you can have good clickbait if you're really good at packaging your YouTube videos that means you have good clickbait you clicked on this video because of the title in the thumbnail just straight facts um so I strategically came up with title with with the titles that we went with or the title we went with and I had you know I tested three different thumbnails and so those thumbnails are things like um stop guessing on YouTube those things are like and and I'm still going to
work it through and because I'm shooting this right now it's going to be things like YouTube on easy mode oh that's good it's going to be things like you know um become YouTube Rich like because these are desires that people want so so let's back so that's clickthrough rate average view duration and you just want to keep that in mind because these are things that YouTube tells you in the back end and I might be losing you here it's like taxes you just need to hear it over and over and over and over and over
again so let's talk about titles very quickly um what makes a good YouTube title the the simple way I would put it is it's easy to read okay like it's easy to read like like an article headline you know when you when you pick up a newspaper or when you go on whatever abcnews.com or whatever you know you read headlines and the reason why you just you you easily read them it's because they're easy to read right Omar okay bro you you're okay bro I mean give an example of one that's like not technically easy
to read it I mean it would just be the the the um the case sensitivity isn't there like it's just inconsistent maybe you have some capitalized letters and some lower Capital capitalized letters uh it's not a complete thought it's like uh vlogmas day one right as opposed to uh save 25% On Target this year so it's not only easy to read but it's like people want context sure like vlogmas day one there's no context there right yeah and so again back to like making people work if somebody if that landed on somebody's feed you're just
like making them like wait what vlogmas okay day two okay like they're just working in the wrong way sure okay so give me something like let's just say you started a podcast or you started a YouTube What Would you like make it about uh let's say golf like like I want to start Channel you don't yeah maybe you want to start about Golf Channel okay I would I would search um Golf and this is why I love using Google for Youtube tips golf tips uh okay wait wait wait wait wait I I just pull up
YouTube and this is my homepage yes I'm going to read you this title and just determine if it's not good or good okay Grandmaster Robert vogle shredding at tan tactical I I have no idea what that means right so that's a terrible title so do you you subscribe to this guy no okay so this guy had the opportunity to get your click y but because his title was like what in the world does that mean sure you scroll so now his clickr rate just went down yes okay and then okay there's this one avoid these
common mistakes Back to Basics like what common mistakes bro like Back to Basics what and then his thumbnail word is I mean like you know sentence is know your EDC which is Elric Daisy Electric Daisy Carnival so this is what I know everyday carry yeah um yeah dude terrible these are this is so good because it hey my goodness if you are still listening or watching I'm here to tell you this is why you have the opportunity right now yes okay this might be a good one I think this is a good one creating a
month's worth of content in one day you will thank me and then his thumbnail is the batch method so good so he he's he's giving you the picture here here's what's powerful if your title on YouTube and your thumbnail MH use picture phrases word pictures meaning when you read it something happens in your brain you create like a an image in your brain that's a powerful title and thumbnail right not and I know thumbnail is an image but I mean the word right if if you're reading the phrase or the word on your thumbnail and
it's causing you to paint a picture in your brain and it's the right picture chances are as they going to click we were in California not too long ago and you played the Laney album and the Laney album was called Malibu nights right and I thought of that I was like wow that is such a good album name title because it's a word picture yeah it's I mean it gives you a picture it gives you a feeling just by two words yes Malibu nights right so so that idea like this guy he he's so read
that title again creating a month's worth of content in one day you will thank me so A month's worth so you so literally you're like whoa A month's worth that's a lot of work in one day oh that's he he must find the secret B you know and then he gives kind of the answer so that that's really good yeah but also I mean another good example of that was myin his I think his thumbnail on one of his videos was like why evil people are rich and that's just like people thinking yeah you're thinking
about movies you thinking about you know superhero villains and then you're also thinking about my dad evil I don't know yeah sure yeah so so I'm going to take your golf example yes and I just went to Google I love Google like I'm not I haven't I haven't gotten too much into AI for title generation which by the way it's great go use AI use your vid IQ use your tu tu buddy like these are all tools that people use to generate titles I think you should just get good at titles as a skill but
you should be able to identify what a good title is the problem is those titles that you read that I just noticed I just told you are terrible titles I I could do that because I've been I've been doing YouTube for a very long time so I I just typed here's what I typed in on Google to help you come up with a video idea okay golf tips for beginners I just searched that which might be like some sort that could be a version of a a video title but i i t i I look
like the DIY golfer this was an article released on July 17th it says golf for beginners colon a seven-step quick start guide that's great now I got access to a phrase called quick start like quick start meaning save time meaning get to a certain you know an end result sooner and then I love that it gave me a seven step so you want to do this title work usually before you make the video because the clearer you are with the title and then the deliverability of that content the the better packaged that video is yeah
but also the more helpful the video becomes 100 and and also you don't have to do verbatim like you could do five three steps three step five steps 12 steps whatever you want um oh my goodness a a be a beginner's Golf Guide what every new golfer should know when picking up the game it's great it's great that could be a podcast like like it doesn't matter how you deliver it the thing is like just deliver on it no dude this article hack that you do is is one of my favorite tips that you give
yeah golf tips for beginners and then parenthesis the tips that actually work yeah like these are all so good so here here's but here's why I love using Google and finding article title headlines to inspire my YouTube titles I like this because people went to college to write articled headlines bro people went to college to become copywriters people like people have done the heavy lifting why why you do the heavy lifting you know so that's one way is just use Google search another way I love you know uh route I like going is actually books
like go on Amazon and search for books a lot of times people didn't make the video version of a book so I'm going to type in uh just really quickly golf this is a sleeper for beginner book I don't know just I how did you arrive to that uh you're just a genius huh you just one day was like you know I'm just going to search books I don't know wild well it's just it's again it's it's leveraging the the hard work people have already done sure right so but that's probably because you're an investigator
sure your personality um yeah golf simplified colon a quick start guide for to Conquering the greens for beginners D great dude um oh my goodness Ben Hogan's Five Lessons the modern fundamentals of golf so now here's here's how I start tapping into unlimited video ideas if I read a book and I just give the video version of it like um there are people that rather watch the movie than read the book there are people that would rather watch the Youtube video breakdown than read the book dang that's good and you'll make his book better by
actually showing it too so maybe you want to show it out there does you the way you do it I don't want to get into the nitty-gritty of the way but anyway like and this is what I love about the this is the re the research phase of a video is you actually because you put yourself in a research mode you're going to get more ideas than what you intended to set out for and create so you just like yeah I just want to go golf but like because you just keep looking it's like dang
there's so many ways I could take this and guess what you have if you upload a video a week you have 52 video ideas to come up with and like we just came up with probably five there's 10% of my Year's content like taken care of oh that's awesome so title you want your title to read like a headline and make it clean you want it to have a picture phrase uh as far as thumbnails go the less is more okay one more one more cuz that was fun but this is a good one okay
and maybe you can guess who it's by why this one secret solves all business problems and his thumbnail is secret business cure all I I think I saw it already it's myin but yeah cure like he's cure all like curing the business the like people are in pain people want to cure and then yeah they just want to inject themselves with the thing that's going to fix them yeah so like this video you you just that's what came to mind was like a a shot but thumbnails cuz thumbnails is a is is important to understand
you need to know what's a good thumbnail now you can upload three versions of a thumbnail and YouTube is going to test that thumbnail but I less is more okay you don't want more than three things in a thumbnail it's going to be either your face or the face is of your people of the uh your content or your video and then the words those words are very strategic again we want we want like words that contrast that create curiosity I I I've heard it said that th the thumbnail the the title the title of
your YouTube video is for the algorithm the thumbnail is for your audience or for the audience so you want to think don't think for your audience think from your audience the best performing podcast we have so so far is with Christo it was our like 13th or so episode yep 384,000 views and the title of that podcast was don't build a don't just build a business build a brand I literally took that title from a Google search okay but the thumbnail we went with it says forget how it looks yep which makes you think wait
what and I chose that because because I'm thinking about the viewer and most people think branding is website colors logos which I'm I just I just created contrast to that approach forget how it looks it kind of is like huh and then I mean the emotion of this thumbnail is like it looks like we're disagreeing yeah Christo is confused and then you're more so like smiling smking yeah so it's like wait what so you don't have to be do the the YouTube you know thing it's it's not even the thing anymore now it's actually just
a smile or maybe you're just like you know I like to say a stoic you're not you're actually not choosing an emotion you're just like you just are go right now give me something to grab or wa I shouldn't be looking at the lens no for the solo episodes we do oh there you go great so dude side note by the way it's so weird looking at this video on YouTube and it says one year ago that is a trip weird it feels like we shot that yesterday um it does so uh yeah the thumbnail
yeah don't make it too busy you don't have to put unnecessary information you don't have to put your name in your thumbnail you don't have to put your thumbnail is about the click it's the like it's it's intended to get somebody to make a connection between the title and what they desire or what the information they're looking for and then you know if you want to get good at this study go to your history on YouTube and look at the videos you clicked on ask yourself why did you click on these videos because more often
than not subconsciously you are clicking on stuff that you don't even realize why you're you're processing and this is getting into like uh psychology the psychology of people right like where are people that this is why it's better to make a video about how to make your first $10,000 a month than it is to make how to make your first $11,000 a month why because just most people are thinking 10K a month you know like so so thumbnails it's a very thumbnails are for the psychology around getting that click and then we're and then the
YouTube intro so we talked about title thumbnail and now the first 30 seconds the goal is you want 60 or 70% viewership or retention after 30 seconds which means if if if you if you're not getting that then you're not giving a PE you're you're not giving people a reason to stay and I have a intro framework that I found just works really well for most Educators and uh Educators and info you have something on your eyebrow type YouTube videos oh snap was it like a dead skin no it was just something white how long
was it been there I don't know I just noticed it dang dude you need to use AI to remove it then you got to redo the thumbnails got to redo the whole thing um all right start from scratch this department I just kidding so here are the three things you want to make sure or consider I'm not going to say make sure everyone's different because you can just get right into the content if it's like if we like golf tips for beginners the tips that actually work um you can just go into tip number one
for new golfers and just get right into it I found uh the consistency of the best performing videos that I've uploaded to YouTube have a uh strategic framework that I have now come up with and it's the three C's of YouTube intro I I I called them actually The Confident YouTube intro and you can be confident in the fact that once you have all these it's A1 so even when you clicked on this video and the intro of this video I made sure I hit it all so the first thing is Clarity Clarity for the
people you want Clarity for the people what does this mean this means that the video that a person saw the title on the thumbnail and they click on it that you give them some sort of like okay I clicked on the Right video sometime that that could be repeating the intro or I like to use I like to um have an educated assumption what I mean by that so if we're doing the golf tips for beginners you're like so you just picked up golf off and you're hooked like got him you know so that would
be Clarity like and look in just one line I was able to hit Clarity for the people the second thing is credibility from the person credibility from the person um so maybe the first line in the golf and we're just saying golf example right you know and this is you you do want to make sure that your YouTube intros are kind of like thought through think about it think about where the people are that are going to watch this video and speak to them call them out call out the thing that they're dealing with or
or that they're thinking about um but when we talk about Clarity from or uh credibility from the person this is the from the Creator credibility from the Creator I could you know it's like so you just picked up Golf and you started you had one or two good perfect hits and it just got you how do you consistently do that even as a new golfer well I've been and then here's the credibility line uh I've been a golf training professional for 10 years and I found that there are five common mistakes that new golfers make
just by saying what you've done what you've accomplished what you figured out yeah I mean the length of how you so you know in in this podcast I mean the way I started it was I started it with you know first the enrolling thing you thought to yourself man 2025 is going to be the year we we're going all in on YouTube like I've actually heard that before from people time to build your brand it's time to take YouTube serious so like I I I just wanted to connect and resonate with the with the with
the the pain or the problem that people were actually dealing with and then I and then I mentioned that in this last year whatever we you know what we've been able to accomplish and that's why in this video we're going to be breaking it down and what I've learned over 10 years you know like so I I did it so we got Clarity for the people credibility from the person Y and then comprehension for the process yes what I'm just kidding no but for real where my head went was comprehension for the people I don't
know yeah that works too so comprehension for the process what does that mean if people are in a journey and they're in the middle of you know most videos are like somebody's on a journey and like you're there to be the guide or one of the voices in that journey to get them from point A to point B and sometimes your content will do that and when I say comprehension I say is there something in the first 30 seconds of your video that is it gives people something that like it's almost like a tip in
the first 30 seconds something they can leave with something they can leave with the thing is it doesn't have to be this like crazy breakdown it could be you know it it could be as simple as by me saying by simply uploading one video a by simply uploading one video a week to YouTube we were able to grow our YouTube channel to over 100,000 subscrib what does that mean you in just that phrase you the idea that you can do this with just one video upload a week do an example with the golf video okay
with the golf video um okay you know if you just picked up golf maybe you had a couple really really good shots um but you're ready to take on the sport in over 10 years I've helped 70 people or in over 10 years that's very a little bit in over 10 years I've helped thousands of people become uh really good golfers and what I found was the main thing that people don't have is the confidence to just hit the ball M and so in today's video we're going to be breaking down the five things that
you can do so you could strike the ball way more confidently like Snap you know some that's just that's just a I need that video this is just an example um and I hope by giving this example you're recontextualizing it for your situation but your intro like again it should just give people a reason to stay and I found we found that these three things we make sure that we have them no matter what sometimes I verbally communicate this intro when we do these types of podcasts other times we create it from the moments inside
of the podcast if you want more breakdown on like how we grown this podcast we have uh a a episode on that so you can check that out just scroll down a little bit but that that is this is why I don't need to watch your whole video because if you don't get those three things right then nobody's going to watch your video so you're putting in all this work to deliver a great piece of content but because you're lazy or ignorant sorry I'm not going to like just put the lazy on everybody um because
you're lazy or ignorant in the process of creation then you get you don't get the results you don't get the benefit so you just want to make sure you and just just to recap really quickly we got average view duration and clickthrough rate clickthrough rate the amount of people that click my video and that's determined by the title and the thumbnail and then average view duration starts while they process that title and thumbnail but then really they stay because the intro you want to make sure that your intro has comprehension for the process credibility from
the person or the Creator and then Clarity for the people and then what else yeah I mean that that's so that's the and and I wrote I wrote down like how to come up with ideas I think I think we I mean that's kind of like the article yeah the article stuff topic uh I always keep like a running document of you know of ideas that come you know I found that my best ideas come when I'm in the shower or when I'm sleeping or like not when I'm sleeping but like yeah and laying in
bed and it's crazy to think that you don't get a lot of sleep and you also don't take long showers okay like bro if you're a guy if you're a man and you take longer than a three to four minute shower you're it's off I'm sorry like what are you doing is my question is it is it I'm off or is it I'm just clean and I'm doing what I need to do in the shower clean the the longer you spend in the shower does not determine how clean you are like you get fully submerged
in 10 seconds when you're in the shower unless you have like afro hair so I understand that for for those people it take some time but bro you're sitting in the shower like or you're scrubbing stuff that like I don't even know why you're scrubbing so long so like that's just a different conversation for a different day all right let's get before we get into the Q&A part um let's get into monetization I think it's important that we talk through this I mean that's one of the Q&A questions the shortest path to monetization on YouTube
stems from knowing the longest path to monetization from YouTube because if you don't know if if your goal is to get monetized on YouTube the traditional route with Google paying you then it's G to take a it's going to take long for you to actually like make it worthwhile um I love I love how much money we made in a year's time on YouTube but if that was the only thing that was that I was monetizing with my YouTube efforts then there would be no way like you could be here or we can have you
know help in other capacities and work with contractors like it's just not going to happen so what is the shortest path to monetization on YouTube in my opinion and this is speaking to the business owners and the entrepreneurs is to promote your products and your services now I don't mean to like hard sell those things but I do mean that you either maybe you have an ad read maybe you you you ask people you know just take take a short one sponsor your own videos and have a link in this the description on how people
can work with you or buy something from you and this is great and so I think a lot of people go into YouTube and it's fine that you can go in this way because because my thing is like don't go into YouTube like trying to like necessarily make money because it's more than that it's more it's like it's helping people it's influencing an industry it's it's getting people a result quicker so it's so much more than making money but if you're in the process of helping a person chances are you is you also have been
positioned to profit from that problem right and so I found that sponsoring your own YouTube videos and then sending them to your either your website maybe it's it's book a call that's probably the shortest path is book a call let that be a 15-minute Discovery call and let them know about your their your services based on your their problem uh I found also you know giving away something in your YouTube videos if it makes sense if you have something to give away we have a gear guide that has grown my email list by over 10,000
emails and people and now I get to reach those people in email off platform on YouTube all because I created a resource that would help them so yeah I actually think making money on YouTube is so easy there is several people in our coaching program that with under a couple hundred thousand or a couple hundred subscribers are making six figures on YouTube um I have we have a case study where one of the girls she has 30 subscribers 13 subscribers I'm sorry I had that wrong I had that 3x 13 subscribers and there she she
had a client like a 30k client from 13 subscribers and then we have uh Brent who just came on the call last week and he was like yeah dude just made 30 grand last last week on YouTube he's like I only have like 186 subscribers I'm like let's go how is this even possible it's simply because they have an offer that makes sense to the content that they're creating so think about that thing you know and and and also just just understand the power of YouTube in that like if you're an entrepreneur and you do
YouTube the right way you have such an advantage because you people are spending so much time with you consuming your long form videos there are people who have been on this podcast that I know of because they're like a lot of times they become friends they've been on this podcast let's take uh I think Rory for example um I will affiliate his offer so that means he comes on my YouTube channel he sells his product and he sell it very nonchalantly or very like he just you know he's did a great podcast and if and
if you resonated with him and his message and his Services then you probably click the link in the description which was a customized link I think I made around $6 to $8,000 from that conversation just because we Affiliated but I think that percentage is a is a is a percentage of a thing so let's just say it was 10% that dude homie made 60 Grand just coming on the podcast this is the power of long form content that like with one conversation and the thing about co-signing that's why I love podcasting is that the cosign
speaks volumes I've already built the trust because the audience knows who I am and if if they know me and they they they Trust trust me now me bringing on you have like double trust you don't have to work as hard this is why YouTube is powerful and why I think long form is the greatest is because there's no other platform that could actually utilize this method of being able to take somebody from a stranger to essentially family or part of your community um there was a guy who came to the workshop one of the
guys his name is Chris and he actually broke down here Omar here's how I joined your coaching program which I charge a lot of money for my coaching okay and he said I first found a podcast it was you and myin it was your first podcast with him and he's like man this guy that's interviewing myin there's something unique about him that's all he thought to himself right just my he part of it was the humilities part of it was just the the the openness to wanting the Insight um and so he he subscribed and
then went on to watch more of podcasts and was like dang this guy knows what he's talking about so I broke down I actually broke down while he while he was telling me I broke down how like all the touch points when he found me on YouTube then watched a few videos and and followed me on Instagram and then there was there was about 13 to 15 yeses before he got to the yes of my offer and so people just want it like right away but you just need to realize that like you're building your
brand and you can't expedite that but it just uh you're building reciprocity with people right and that's why like you mean there's some people that like want to join my stuff just because I've given so much you know to them um with with the community service content which is the department podcast so I mean yeah I mean did I answer the question like how do you know the different ways to monetize I mean obviously you could sell your own act like your merch your product just know that like people aren't going to buy your stuff
if you don't give them the reason or the feeling to and sometimes the way you get somebody the feeling to is by strategically making content that your product or your service aligns with so this is why when people like they're so like man I don't know what my Niche is I'm like what are you what are you going to sell like what do you plan on well I don't think I don't want to make money yet well okay well okay then just make videos bro I don't know what to tell you you know like but
if you are making golf tutorials and you had you maybe a mini course or you had a local offer or maybe you flew down and you did three lesson like chances are is like because people spent time with you online they they they might prefer to work with you as opposed to anybody else because they're like I just got to know you this is why for Real Estate YouTube is powerful because people are like thinking about moving somewhere they go on YouTube and then they find a person who just talks about the neighborhood and they
talk about how they love raising their family there and it's a great place and it's like okay I'm going to work with this person and they found him on YouTube and then the house was a million bucks which means you're going to make 30 grand from one viewer on YouTube like who cares about going viral at that point 100 um okay well on that topic we'll get into the Q&A how long has it been it's been an hour 16 oh wow okay this is great I mean dude this is a rich breakdown I'm here for
it of YouTube I'm here for it I love it okay Q&A we're going to Rapid Fire eight questions but since you talked about monetization okay the context to this Q&A the question was why is YouTube hard so William Brown said because everyone is selling something that's why he thinks YouTube is hard so what would you say to that it's true everyone is selling something now you might be selling something physical or you might be just selling people on on your content so I don't know if maybe maybe I don't know the context of where he's
coming from but everything we do in life was because we were sold it yeah maybe he feels because everyone is selling something he needs to have something to sell and he doesn't so he feel like he's not supposed to be on YouTube or he can't well I mean you could the people who don't sell anything but like you know but make a lot of money they sell entertainment value they they sell attention so you know in in the name of being entertaining they they're selling the idea of you know hanging out with me but even
like I mean I think about even like Ayan tryan who makes content that Ruby loves and I you know I love watching and he's super entertaining he's hilarious but he also has his candy and every video because he's giving he because he's doing so much in his videos and he's putting a lot of work in his videos when he has that ask of like hey can you go to Target and buy my candy and let's get my candy up to the thing it's like go ahead dude have your ask it's like it's almost like if
that if that's like you know his disposition it's like then don't watch television I mean when we watch television it's like man like that's the point of ads yeah it's the point like you you get to watch this TV for a discounted rate or for cheap or whatever and like because you're on this channel you're going to get to see ads obviously there's you know you could buy Hulu with no ads and watch your series and all that stuff and I get that but um if you watch anything live you're going to see usually you're
going to see ads um but just bro I think selling is awesome I think selling you know just well on that note Kyler said YouTube is hard because um I don't know how to come up with video ideas that attract and pre-sell clients in parenthesis four Services that's really good okay I love what Alex Moi says is like teach the how-to and then sell the implementation what people think is they think that I'm giving too much away by teaching how-to okay when the reality is you're in the deep end teaching the how-to thing while people
are dipping their toes so I found that like even the how-to videos I created people have to watch it multiple times to get what they need out of it and so if I'm teaching something and I make it seem like it's easy to me there's always people that are like I'll can I just pay you so my thing is Kyler start making how-to content and then secondly if you're getting people results and this is for coaches Consultants service providers interview them like interview them and and break down all the things hey like where were you
you before you found our services well I was looking you know we have we have somebody who like paints homes in our community so he's like let's just say yeah like I I was just didn't understand the price you know like there I got quotes and everybody was so much more expensive more than I thought and then you told me there are certain kinds of paints that I could choose that can determine and then it's like it's it's actually when when you do a testimonial uh interview that's pre-selling clients it's pre-selling because you're saying like
Okay I worked with this person there happy client and then if you so I think those are the two things I could think of um but again there just needs to be alignment there and if you do your ad read you can also like hey check out like last month I was able to help this person go from here to here and Al you know if it's Fitness or something you know trans show the transformation share those stories gotcha like literally uh AJ in our group he's a fitness guy he he broke down how one
of his clients reached their Fitness goal by eating hamburgers and it's because he loved hammerers so like what AJ was able to prove with that video was that he can work with a person's you know you know love for food and yet still get them a result which shows him like super expert and he I remember he came on a call he's like not even a few days after posting that video I got a you know a high paying client it's fire you don't need a ton of views when you do this the right way
okay Nicole says editing exclamation point I just can't figure out the cutting and putting together like mind blown Emoji um just make it simple just free her right now okay the first thing is I dare you to upload videos that aren't edited oh snap take what you've learned in this podcast conversation make a video don't even edit it and then upload it straight to Youtube there you go now the only thing if you want basic editing you know you could either edit with text they actually make it the option to be able to edit with
text you could just delete a a paragraph and then it'll cut or just learn splitting selecting and deleting that's like basic edits is like taking the Dead Space putting a splice in front after a good take putting the spice after the bad take clicking and then hitting delete don't I think I think what what we do you know and we do this with anything that we don't know we we believe it's really hard and so I know you're at a place whoever said this you're at a place where you're like I just that that concept
I think about editing and I'm like uh I would say get to that basic level because now video is becoming a foundational like it's almost like everyone should have some basic knowledge of editing I wouldn't be surprised if to start teaching it in schools and stuff um and check out fiverr.com fiverr.com you can find an editor hire someone to do just hire somebody to just you send them the thing is is you need to be able to deliver the information and then the editor can then cut out all the dead space and the editor can
also you you know I've learned that when you when I create content that I know will be edited you know you get really good at like starting from a place where you messed up because you know that they can cut it and all that stuff so uh but I also just don't edit then what yeah just don't edit you don't need to edit okay who made you believe that man pip visuals says what's the best strategy for consistent content creation without overthinking what is the best strategy for consistent content creation without overthinking uh create videos
that come easy to you and it won't be I mean creating content won't be easy unless you do it right nothing nothing is easy at its first try yeah but I also think the overthinking part is important you actually should be overthinking your videos as in like research yeah you should be researching your stuff I don't think the overthinking shouldn't prevent you from creating it should enable you to create it's good so leverage how about this use your massive overthinking not on the idea of just making the video use it in the planning and then
it'll make the making a lot easier that was great business English coach Nat says how do you prep and organize long form content so my every for everyone because this is an this is the in the world of creative or creating anything everyone has a different approach a different way you have to find your way that's the biggest thing like not everyone writes the books books the same way not everyone writes emails the same way or talks the same way so you have to find your flow my my process comes from a my process of
creating YouTube videos and planning for YouTube videos comes from the pulse of the people that I'm called to serve my process for my YouTube video plan comes from the pulse of people that I'm called to serve and so I'm just because I'm giving and teaching so much I have the benefit of having all the feedback in the world that I could even throw a question like that up on you on Instagram and get a lot of response um so just be a good listener like listen to the people like I I I like to there's
a there's like this type of like category category of content I've come up with and that's conviction based content so conviction based content meaning you feel in your knower that you you're you're fresh to make this so like you know I had two options to create this video with this the one that we're doing right now and do another one and I told you here are the options you know and I went with this one because of the timely manner I've heard it enough by a handful of people that they want to take YouTube serious
and they're struggling with YouTube and all that stuff so so that's why we went this route um but like I said just always have a running document to create from it when I'm not inspired I just create from the thing that's easiest to create and that and that's just my process and so ton Ross says YouTube is hard because it's the process of waiting for viewers to show up that makes it hard yes so this sounds kind of like coach Omar vibes okay which is like just be patient like you're not going to blow up
overnight and if you do and you're not the right person you won't even be able to handle the virality and guess what your virality is going to be wasted what if he's been patient for five months and it's still not kicking off okay then I would ask the question what have you been doing to get 1% better with every upload that's great like are you just checking off a box sure or are you being intentional with your consistency if I go to the gym and I go inside and I leave it and I tell you
I've been going to the gym for five months what I'm doing in the gym is actually determining the results I'm going to get so it's it it's like how are you working on your videos and so I would I would just go back I are you making videos people want to watch you know and sometimes that takes a little bit of humility to be like man I want I want to make a video that just says I'm starting over dot dot dot and I want that to get a million views but the reason is you
found a a YouTuber that already has a base subscriber base like I remember good good golf They uploaded a YouTube video without a title and it got a million views in the first day wow that's all brand that that doesn't mean I can then go take what good good golf did and then I'm going to upload a podcast with just a period as the title like no I no thanks like it's just not going to work right you know it'll work to some level maybe at this point but not going to waste an upload trying
to be somebody I'm not so like just make content that you I mean I I'm saying like just make content that people want to watch but this is just T this takes you friend to re-evaluate what do people want and need and uh and then just make sure you package it well chances are if you have five months of videos and you're not getting results you might have some good videos in there just repackage them sure put a put a fresh title now that you got the information put a fresh thumbnail you know I do
I am a firm believer of like thumbnail consistency because at some level it's good to be you know uh that people can acknowledge you every time you show up you know I some people have different philosophies with that you know like Chris doe he they do a different thumbnail every upload you know yeah think okay last one if you want to Omar if you were to start over completely from scratch and you want to make 10K a month on YouTube what would be your game plan so knowing what I know now if I wanted to
make $10,000 a month on YouTube I would have a high ticket offer and I would create content that would attract the Right audience so in this case knowing what I know now I would have I would make content that is um Frankenstein content I know this sounds crazy but let me just phrase it this way I'll make how-to content around how to make videos video ideas content like this and then I would say if you want me to consult you on this I have a few spots on my one-on-one and uh you can get on
the wait list right now get on the weit list and then when a spot opens up whether it opens up for real or when you join you might be the first person then I will close them on the on a call and that that client okay let's just paint let's just paint pictures let's just say I got a thousand views on a few videos and then I got five people at 2K a month that's 10 grand a month and then now I'm making 10K a month on YouTube yesh you can also have just one 10K
offer sure like I think about that like that studio tour I did for think media has like 200 something thousand views if I was like maybe you're watching this video and you're like bro Omar do you just do this the answer is yes and if you're serious and you are willing to invest go ahead and fill out the application below and I you know but could I have done 10 in a year's time from that one video I believe so right that would have been a sixf figureure video it's fire yeah it's good stuff that
is YouTube I really hope you become a man or woman of your word and I mean that by saying if you say you're setting out to do the thing on YouTube I would encourage you to do it you're going to look back on your life December of 2025 and you're going to be so glad that you took YouTube serious not because of the results more than the person you'll become in the process it really is I don't know a YouTuber that's struggling with life like it's it's a it's a it is a journey worth going
down because of the return on your investment both in fulfillment of helping a lot of people both in meeting new people opportunities opening up because you become the go-to person maybe in your industry or what have you and then also yeah the ROI financially um people want to make buying decisions where they're making less of a risk with their purchase and when they get to know you on YouTube it becomes a lot easier to make that transaction because they're like I trust this person I could just tell by them because the internet could spot a
fake and so they can also spot a real that's r e Al and so crush it on YouTube if you need anything I would say join the content to cash Challenge and or follow me on Instagram and you can DM me it's me on Instagram and I'd be uh happy to help thanks art for being on don't forget to subscribe and uh hope you have a blessed 2025 let's go let's go dude it stopped recording 10 minutes in Imagine
