he could have imagined as David tended the Sheep he meditated on the greatness of God observing the wonders of creation around him these meditations increased his faith and his understanding of God's constant presence it was during these moments of solitude that David developed an intimate relation reltionship with the Lord preparing his spirit for future challenges David was not only courageous but also modest and respectful when the prophet Samuel came to Bethlehem to anoint the future king of Israel Jesse presented his oldest Sons believing that one of them would be chosen however God had other plans
and surprisingly it was young David taken from the field who Samuel anointed as the next King David continued his simple life not insulting himself because of the anointing he returned to the field where his heart remained focused on God and His daily responsibilities David's anointing although it did not immediately change his position in society planted in him the seed of a greater Destiny Paving the way for his future Ascension while David was still tending the Sheep a major conflict was brewing between Israel and the Philistines the Philistines Israel's longtime enemies were known for their milit
strength and more recently for a Giant Warrior named Goliath he was a man nearly 10 ft tall wearing shining bronze armor and his immense size and strength terrified the army of Israel Goliath challenged Israel daily demanding that an Israelite Warrior fight him in single combat however no soldier of Israel dared to face him as fear of the giant spread like wildfire even King Saul a tall and courageous man was paralyzed by Goliath's challenge in the midst of this conflict Jesse David's father asked him to go to the battlefield to bring food to his brothers and
bring news of the confrontation without hesitation David left with a sincere heart and a desire to serve upon arrival he found the army of Israel in great dismay and soon learned of the challenge launched by Goliath David was surprised to see his brothers and the other soldiers in such a state of fear he asked his brothers about the Giant and why no one volunteered to fight him David saw the situation not just as a physical conflict but as an affront to the army of the Living God his faith in God and His sense of justice
ignited his courage news that David was asking questions about Goliath quickly reached King Saul the young Shepherd was taken before the king where he confidently declared his willingness to fight the giant Saul incredulous at first question David about his ability but David reported his victories over lions and bears stating that the same God who had delivered him from these animals would deliver him from Goliath faced with David's determination Saul allowed him to face Goliath although with hesitation Saul offered David his own armor hoping it would provide the young Shepherd some protection against the giant David
tried to put on the armor but quickly realized that he was not used to it and that it would be a hindrance rather than a help confident in God's Providence and in his skills acquired as a Shepherd David chose to use his own weapons a sling and five smooth Stones chosen from the stream he held the sling tightly knowing that the strength of his hand and the accuracy of his throat came from his trust in God as David prepared to face Goliath the army of Israel watched with a mixture of amazement and hope to many
it seemed like a suicide mission but David was convinced that God was with him he knew that the battle was not his but the Lord's and this certainty made him move forward with unshakable courage before leaving for the confrontation David raised a silent prayer to God asking for strength and precision he mentally Revisited all the times God had delivered him in the past increasing his faith that the same God who was with him on the fields would also be with him on the battlefield with his sling in his hand and a small bag of stones
on his belt David began his walk towards the giant every step he took was a testimony to his faith and a challenge to the fear that paralyzed others he was prepared to demonstrate that true strength came not from size or Weaponry but from faith in God Goliath Advanced toward David exuding arrogance and contempt the giant laughed when he saw the dominated figure of the young Shepherd mocking David and cursing him in the name of his Gods he promised to give David's flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field certain of
his imminent Victory David however remain firm his faith unshakable and his courage renewed he responded to the giant with words that would echo through the centuries you come to me with sword with spear and with Shield but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts the god of the armies of Israel whom you have defied this very day the Lord will deliver you into my hands these words resounded in the valley and David without hesitation ran towards Goliath as he ran he placed a stone in his sling and threw it with
all his strength and precision the stone hit Goliath in the forehead penetrating deeply and the giant fell with a crash to the ground dead the army of Israel was stunned the Invincible giant had been felled by a young Shepherd with a simple stone David's victory was a powerful testimony to the power of God and the strength of faith without a sword David ran and grabbed Goliath's sword decapitating the giant to ensure his defeat David's Victory not only freed Israel from the immediate threat but also inspired the Army to pursue and defeat the Philistines securing a
great victory for God's people the young pastor had become a national hero and his unshakable faith in God was celebrated by all after the victory over Goliath David was received with great celebrations in Israel women sang in the streets dancing and proclaiming Saul has smitten in his thousands but David his 10,000s David's Fame grew quickly and he was brought before King salul to be honored although Saul was initially grateful for Goliath's defeat David's growing popularity soon aroused the king's envy and jealousy the songs of praise to David deeply troubled Saul and he began to see
David as a threat to his throne and his authority Saul offered David a place in his court and even his daughter in marriage but his heart was filled with suspicion the king watched David suspiciously trying to find fault and devise ways to undermine his growing influence meanwhile David always humble and faithful served the king with dedication David's friendship with Saul's son Jonathan flourished during this period Jonathan recognized David's nobility and Faith forming a strong bond that would be become crucial in the difficult times to come Jonathan helped mediate the relationship between David and Saul trying
to protect his friend from his father's increasing Tantrums Saul's Envy turned into open hostility leading him to make several attempts on David's life however God was with David protecting him from every evil plan and strengthening him for future challenges David faced each attack with patience and faith never retaliating against Saul and always trusting in the divine plan as Saul's hostility increased it became clear that David needed to flee for his life with Jonathan support David left the court and began a life of escape and hiding he hid in caves forests and even enemy lands to
escape Saul's attempts to capture him despite the difficulties David remained faithful to God and His Integrity on several occasions he had the opportunity to kill Saul and end the persecution but he always refused to lift his hand against the Lord's anointed on one such occasion David sneaked into the cave where Saul was sleeping and cut off a piece of his clothing proving that he could have taken the King's life but chose to spare him Saul's Relentless persecution LED David to form a group of loyal followers men who were also disaffected or fleeing Injustice together they
became a cohesive group dedicated to survival and the cause of David these men saw in David a just and inspired leader someone who despite adversity maintained his faith and sense of justice David's Journey led him to live among the Philistines for a time where he sought refuge in the city of ciklet even among Israel's enemies David maintained his loyalty to his people conducting military operations against Israel's adversaries while disguising his true intentions his strategic skill and loyalty to God earn him the admiration and respect of his followers while David was in ziklag a decisive battle
