you know when you have like your top five top 10 favorite songs that you know every word to there are those songs that you don't like at all but you still know every word to them because you've heard them so many times mhm can I sing one for you so this one we heard it and I was like oh I know every word of this song and I hate it I don't hate it but I took a walk around the world to ease my trouble mind I my body lying somewhere in the S time right
yeah great Kryptonite yeah yeah do you have any any song that's the only song I've listened to in the last like 25 years actually that one song It's funny both you and I have that same like Quirk about us yeah interesting I'm glad our guest this week is um a football it's football season week when do we want I'd rather talk to a football be honest with you it's kind of [ __ ] up no I'm actually really excited for this guy um I haven't seen him in quite a lot all right can we cut
just for a second Sam just cut hold the roll for a sec Sally what the chips can we not can we lose the chips please it's so dis the eating the disrespect EV did you get my email about your notes [ __ ] I I went went to the junk uh you just I didn't I'm I'm looking to like we need to like dive in a little faster get into the me of things a little quicker okay okay okay you need to be more authoritative when you're like you're the expert here we don't know who
the hell this guy is so like you need to take control of the conversations more and be a little more authoritative we actually know who I am very well Sally big complaint like who are you and what's going on with you still figuring that out boss yeah okay cool can we can we uh let's uh do you want to come s take a seat when we get to the show just uh let's just try one also Sam it's like it's a mess back here clean up just pretend I'm in Sammy doesn't mean it the boss
in town the intro is though we're going to do the show uh let's get to the show you know you don't have to clap again stop it's a it's a thing we do yeah it's just it's more of it's a mental it's a anyways take away the notes begin already welcome everyone to manly things sort of yeah podcast where we're talking men's fashion superheroes and Mr David Korn SWAT hey great to be here lovely to see you guys wow wow it's in the flesh in the flash we actually haven't seen each other for a while
you and I have but you and I haven't a few months yeah usually we see each other more often than that well you [ __ ] went up and flew away didn't you you uh my name is Evan simonic celebrity men's worth stylist Sally John over here my name is Sally and I uh I actually am the one that created the like I don't know the name of it but the thing where psychologists use those ink blots and they like figure out the roar Shack tests so that's me so you're warjack no I'm Sally okay
sorry the what are we ever GNA find out what you actually do every week baby okay David cornat uh go ahead talk talk about yourself I'm David cornat and um oh I actually produced this podcast uh part of the reason this podcast happens um yeah so whenever we say produce we talk about you and your lovely wife War don't forget about mat Damon he's been in from the beginning um thank you for being here finally I'm nervous it only took 24 episodes yeah well I didn't I wanted you guys to find your uh find your
flow I was going to say that's the thing that you do working with you creatively in the past he makes his clients work their [ __ ] asses off and sweat to the Bone and then he goes yeah you doing all right I guess I'll help yeah well honestly I it was a terrible mistake cuz now you guys are really good at this and I'm not I'm like um what so would you want to kind of let us know let people know how you had the idea to kind of bring us together like we had
the idea of doing the podcast like here's Evan starting from the beginning jump in man well go ahead okay so you're on a desert island yes you've got three pieces of clothing oh okay I'm reward the question yeah how do you know Sally over here uh Sally and I did musical theater growing up haven't you covered this yes yeah we we did some uh musical theater High School Musical 2 High School Musical what's the famous line guys there's a poop out there that's your line it's not my line it's his line okay that was was
that your only line or you had multiple line I don't remember it's been too long okay okay so yeah we we've known each other since prees and kids uh definitely didn't have beards at the time you couldn't grow one for like ever long time yeah uh we also did a a show choir called shooting stars oh boy that okay beautiful sorry I would have been ready for that but that I both going to do it this was this was the bit that I'm throwing yeah cuz EV you're big into musical theater aren't you um Westside
Story yeah well that was the show we did together oh cool one of them yeah one of a few we obviously know each other I the writer strike is kind of what made this all happen so I had the idea for this and you luckily like you were well just do it and that's the kind of type of person you are I feel like it's rather than just talking and bullshitting it's like oh why don't you just go ahead and do it and you kind of supplied us with lights and microphones and did it yeah
that's one thing one thing I like doing is supplying gear yeah for real and Amazon Amazon has helped you with that because it's a quick thing oh you need a microphone here we go oh yeah yeah yeah yeah I mean you you said that you'd had this idea for like a long time right mhm and um honestly all I was thinking was like well I know how to I know like how to get you a microphone that works and a and a camera that works and a co-host a co-host that works sometimes most yeah no
I think we're doing so overall if you want to give us a little bit of a grade we got 24 or 25 episodes now oh I'm pumped I think you guys are doing great I mean this is the thing about I am very candid with my feedback and you know being a performer myself I understand that like being in front of the camera is much harder than being behind the camera and like I can I can tell you you know four or five times don't start with hey so like how did it all get started
start with like an interesting jump right into the middle question but I also understand that like when you're in the heat of it and like your the cameras are on the lights are on and you're with somebody you don't know like you you're not like thinking about that stuff you're trying to you're trying to flow and you're trying to roll and um what have I told you what have my notes been to you wait do you have do you have like any specific not you if you were like um uh T tangential stories um but
then the thing about it is like the show so so yeah so I I I'm very candid especially early on about what I think is working and not working because we're very close and like have been close for a while and we've all worked together we shot a bunch of music videos together and um and we've obviously obviously been working on the whole cloth clothing clothing thing am I'm pronouncing that right fash um since 2018 um so like we trust each other and I trust that if I if I give you guys just just my
what what I what I'm seeing what I what the feedback that I can give but if I'm honest with you and candid with you then some of the things will improve and you'll take it as it's intended and then the great thing is now I can say honestly like I love watching the show I love just it as an excuse to hang out with you guys give it I think like yeah give give it up for your it we're here baby pat on the back um and I've heard from a couple of it's not like
we we have a very small audience of people who don't know us but um but of my friends who watch the show and and some of our mutual friends who watch the show um they said like you guys have hit a great stride where you're and like even things like your your tangents like they're just they're they're better they're more interesting you like weave them into the topic better that's 25 reps that's a lot about podcast that's that's 25 hours of podcasting how much do I weigh um 25 about 210 I'm 235 so you got
it harder yeah sorry buddy how much do you weigh at the moment like 215 gross what's funny is is the amount of coming from a baseball background the locker room men's bodies was always at a top like a like topic of oh we were always talking about each other's bodies in the locker room dude I I wore gym shorts under my pants to school for like most of middle school so that I never had to be in my underwear really honest to God I thought it was going to say cuz you want you and I
were different kind of men no what I was going to say is I always wanted to be like 62 1880 that's like my college on on the internet 6210 that's all I wanted to be and I was like 6170 so you always kind to jump up or you always needed to jump up and I think since you've started doing Superman and and weightlifting and all that you've I think now appreciate it or not appreciate it but like you are you the whole body mass and dude I've wanted it since I don't know whether was back
when you and I I probably wasn't terribly like open about it in in like the musical theater like the musical theater crowd is not so judgmental about like there's not a whole lot of like you need to be bigger it's more like eating disorders and you need to be smaller it's like sing higher um but uh but I've always I was always I always wanted to be bigger I was a I was a ah man uh I think I girl I went to high school with once said not to me but in front of me
and was definitely like I heard it was like look man nobody wants to date a string bean I was like I am the string bean and it's not true lots of people love dating string beans but I did I I felt I always felt skinny and I always felt like I couldn't like fill in a fill out a T-shirt and I couldn't like I always felt like I was like I didn't quite have the physical presence that I wanted to have okay um so I was always trying and I was 6'4 a lot sooner than
I was 200 lb I was like 64 and probably 165 at some point yeah that's skinny and then every like I don't know every few years I would I would manage to I I never like weight lifted seriously but I would was always going to the gym I was just never doing I was never like keeping track doing Progressive overload and I wasn't consistent about it yeah um and so every like I don't know two three years I would jump up five pounds and like you know then I was like oh it's easy to be
170 and like oh now I can be 175 and then I I plateaued around 190 and I thought I I was like I thought I'd be happy at 190 and I wasn't you want to push it yeah so getting to bulk up for Superman was I I was looking for an excuse to like really throw on some weight and see what I mean 4 I thought 210 was going to make me happy and then I got up to 238 238 so that was the peak yeah okay this is a great opportunity for me to tell
a story uh it happened in 2019 right before you moved away from La we were hanging in your apartment it was morning and I don't know what we were doing but you knew you had to prepare for the day and the way that you prepared for the day because you were juicing sorry because you were bulking um you walk out of the kitchen with a plate and it's two Eggo waffles with pounds of cream cheese on top no no it wasn't cream cheese it was Greek yogurt Greek yogurt on top I mean that was before
I understood what eating a I thought that I was trying to eat a lot of food mhm MH back in 2019 when I was trying to get from like 190 to 195 yeah I mean I learned what you tried really hard yeah yeah yeah but I was like trying hard in a normal person setting like I was eating three meals a day and like having a couple shakes he didn't do it in the celebrity Superman way what was it for though like why were you trying to get bigger I just wanted to be bigger I
I think I was about to do Hollywood in 2019 or yeah right before I left it would have been Hollywood yeah so I was naked a lot in Hollywood and I knew that and I had whatever like a month before we started shooting so I was doing everything I could in that month which not going to be very much by the way I have a picture of that of what of you holding the plate with really yeah I'll pull it up pull it up yeah but yeah my solution was just just eat a ton of
Greek yogurt which is still my solution but now Greek yogurt I eat just a carton of Greek yogurt as my bedtime snack yeah like after I've had my four or five meals and two shakes yeah when you when you when you would stay with us oh my God we would hear you we would hear you in the middle of the night or like right when we were going we were going to bed and you were literally just doing the yogurt and the banana like the whole thing yeah I mean oh and I have a mustache
too that's amazing I'll send it to you yeah oh to go in well it's going to go up on Why Did You Have a mustache in Hollywood no no no okay so that was oh was it before Pearl no it wasn't that was not my Pearl mustache that was I I that was just a for fun mustache I had a beard I think that must might have been an after wheel in this city and I had a uh I had a beard and was shaving and I probably did that for an audition or something okay
cuz sometimes when you have a beard and then you get an audition and you're like this guy could have a mustache you want to just look for excuse yeah I like that um now that you are you've completed Superman and and filming you've come down and wait even when you were shooting I I noticed that you like it's it's so tough to maintain at that 238 weight right and I didn't try I was I wasn't 238 when we started shooting I was 238 at my Max that was crazy it aw the picture that that came
out of you at like some reading or something where you're I'm wearing the I mean that was like I put on like one of those crew neck whatever what's the brand that they everybody wore in the 90s the like crew neck sweatshirts oh champion champion champion and um and and I put on one of those sweatshirts and I was like an XL or double XL and I was like I fill this out like this is amazing I didn't fit into any of my pants um it didn't feel great cuz I did it so quickly that
like I my body just head and adjusted to the extra weight um and I was still trying to eat a lot but that was at my that was at the peak of my bulk and then I slowly lost weight before we started shooting I started shooting at about 228 230 I knew what I that I wanted this to be my excuse to see what it felt like to gain essentially as much weight as I could see I'm okay Evan and I we run a fashion podcast something we talk about Men's Wear men's fashion men's style
and where where can you find this podcast everywhere what does that mean on speciic brother audio what is that just [ __ ] Jesus Christ hey what's up folks you can follow us on manly things pod also check us out on YouTube manly things sort of also manly things pod also he's got to figure it out okay I don't I'm going to work on it if it was good where was I so we run hey subscribe subscribe and and like video and share it cuz it helps other people find it and we are trying to
like get these people's expertise out to people who need it for I'm a great example that one of the reasons I wanted you to do this podcast and one of the reasons I thought you were the a good co-host in case don't understand why he's the co-host of the show anho um is that uh okay is that I I mean you have no idea how much I wanted to show up here in a T-shirt and shorts I it was like every fiber of my being was like just wear what you want to wear wear the
T-shirt I wish you would have I would have roasted the [ __ ] out of you I know that's the thing it's like but I but but so you you actually started to change my internal whatever my my instincts here cuz I was the guy who was hopeless I mean not only did I have no Instinct but I felt so uncomfortable in anything that was cool or or even like I mean the only things I could wear were like pretty pretty baggy t-shirts and like gym shorts and a suit I felt comfortable like in like
a suit cuz that's a very like I feel like theatrical costumey type thing and my dad like always wore kind of old school like you know he I don't know I just suits were okay cuz they were like you knew what you were doing it was you're just suits are just another way of fitting in with everybody else so like that's cool but anything cool a suit with no tie absolutely not couldn't I was just like who do I think I am trying to be cool um can I embarrass you with one thing real quick
please I remember when I a bunch of like shoes and and clothing that I was trying to get rid of and I called him up and I was like hey I have like I have a bunch of vans in your size do you want any and he literally said what are Vans I remember this yeah and I was like oh they're like shoes don't worry I'm just going to bring them to you um yeah so you we were literally starting from scratch with you um and I think now you have a little bit of an
appreciation for huge appreciation for it before I got good at it I not that I'm great at it but like before I I started to learn I had an appreciation like I I it's because I dress so well so honestly like the way you the reason I thought he'd be a good pairing for you because obviously you're a professional but God uh but Sally was one of the first people who I who who dresses so weirdly and like specifically I've toned it down so much and I regret everything well you should go back cuz I
mean I you don't tone it down for for I definitely would have been but I would have been one of the people who would have been like tone it down but something about the way you did it I was convinced I was like this guy is doing weird interesting stuff that works for him and it works specifically for you and your and your look and your feel and you knew so much about it and I was like how did you figure all of this out and you were basically self-taught you're also self-taught but you're also
learning on the job s just like developed his own fashion sense and and like invested in it and invested time and energy into it so I thought that was really impressive and interesting one of my favorite things was I'm going to stop you right there one of my favorite things was going out to dinner with him and a few other people he shows up in like these gray cuffed sweatpants and a white T-shirt and a baseball cap I'm wearing like and mua Meer my guies it's I I I'm a huge influence on you think keep
going you're not a huge influence on me I would never wear the clothes you wear God forbid oh my gosh are you kidding is he inspiring the idea is inspiring like someone who who uses their clothes and the and the culture of clothing to their advantage and like has fun with it but also shows out with it like you you were at our wedding you were the coolest dressed person at our wedding wearing a trench coat and I don't know what else like cool stuff whatever that was the important thing um and just sweating that
brooch was [ __ ] sick too what an amazing bro honestly don't remember the broch sorry about that um but so uh I uh I I I'm the person who needed guidance and help and people had tried like my my oldest childhood friend Ian like got into fashion when we were in high school or whatever and was doing like the cuffed you know uh pants and and like cool shirts whatever he dresses Fant he's in like a cool weird phase where he's doing retro 8s stuff I don't get but but he was the first one
to do it but he just told me what to wear and then I didn't feel comfortable in it and that's partially cuz like we were in high school we didn't know what the hell we were doing so to get to a place where I was at a place where I was like I need I need to be able to like I need to have other clothes and I need to know how to wear them and I need to know how to feel comfortable in them and you and when you guys would talk to me I
would feel like I started to understand and I feel like there are so many especially I think like young men out there who are who who don't have an instinct for it and really don't have an interest in it like what what dude is like I really want to look great like I want to figure out how to like they're just like I want to be presentable like maybe I want to impress a girl or a guy or like I want to I have to go to an event and like I want to be able
to fit in and and be appropriate or like I just am bored with what I with what I'm wearing and I need to know how to Branch out um so I think like you guys this is all the still the pitch to subscribe to this thing cuz we're you know we're trying to be of service to the people so anyway so so that this was so [ __ ] boring anyway job what are you wearing um so I I found this uh double RL like pretty old RL piece it was it was like a double
XXL I don't fit in it but I was like this is one of my favorite pieces like the the leather on the top the the yolks um good vintage Levi 511s um that I that I love and then my uh Tas and of course the cardier Sally what are you wear Sally I have my I like those what are they no idea red guidy baby backzip redgy back Zips if you followed my Tik Tok in 2023 you know that I am a backzip queen on the bottoms I have myl pre-distressed and pre patched corduroys from
oh I said RL uh on the bottom the shirt I want to see the shirt's funny so on the on the on the bottom I'm wearing this vintage on the bottom I'm wearing this vintage shirt I can go ahead go ahead [Music] sorry designated driver it says designated driver dog and the Cowboys obviously waste you want it after yeah actually yeah if you don't mind that's your kind of shirt right there you must I got it because of this podcast even though you guys said stop wearing the same [ __ ] that Evan wears on
top I have on top that shirt I have my Levis shirt that I got from Amazon and then I have my Spinelli and my rings and my Ugo haachi atori and where' your where's your cardier the Santos I wore it today at the office it's one of the top uh watches to wear uh like over the next couple of months you think I didn't know that already I got it [ __ ] way ahead of the train at what office don't talk about it who who are you no no we are not doing this we're
not going go ahead David label it out so this is where I get to show so so what what I know what these are um I should can you show me the bottom of they're the washable ones yeah I know they're [ __ ] weird dude I hate when you wear these [ __ ] things no they're wait they're better they're better than the workout shoes I want to be roasted these areans great leevi you're fine great shirt you're fine made well made well um I've started wearing undershirts because of you up what is it
called wife and this is a custom ordered what size is it XL go is got the biggest head of all time oh my God it's a 25 and A2 inch there's been a there's been a couple of my head is big enough that like you can't buy hats off the rack no but there's a couple times where people have like brands or whatever have brought you hats and you'll be like I probably won't be able to wear um but no you look good uh thanks go ahead go ahead okay the shoes I [ __ ]
hate Niche shoes they remind me of water shoes where you going like [ __ ] Barton Springs in Aus here's my rebuttal can shoes have to be worn all day it is not acceptable to take your shoes off in mixed company smells not necessarily it's well these are machine washable you can literally throw them in a wash talking about shoes in general so I get physically antsy if you want to talk about like like problems my problem is that if I'm in an uncomfortable pair of shoes I will think about nothing else for the entire
day I will not get used to them so I have to wear I mean I can suffer through for like an event or something but I have to wear really comfortable shoes if I'm going to wear them all day and these are really com and they are like they're not bad wow Ys highly recomend I mean they're probably the most comfortable shoes best combination of most comfortable and coolest like most presentable most functional because my other comfortable shoes are zero Brand X they're weightlifting shoes yeah they're not weightlifting shoes they're just they're they're um they're
naked shoes they're like so there's no pading there's no support and they're ergonomical so they're shaped like your foot's actually shaped instead of like that where it like crushes your little toe you are so [ __ ] weird dude I'm just trying to like get by without being totally uncomfortable honestly I wish I could get I wish I could but you're uncomfortable all the time why do you keep doing this I know I feel like I'm saying like we don't need to be wearing shoes or boots all the time and I'm I'm hot and sweaty
I would love to wear shorts I just don't want to wear shorts next episode should we just show up show up yeah that's not a bad idea um also a hat I always want to wear a hat unless I have a buzz cut I always want to wear a hat because otherwise I have to like pay so much attention to my hair when's the last time you had a buzz cut the city yeah that was probably the last time that I had like a real buzz cut but um but I had it pretty short for
um greatest hits the the search light picture that I did with Lucy Boon that was that was yo shout out to a friend of the show baby our first opportunity yeah yeah um don't forget to sign on the fridge um for what it's worth the reason that I didn't mention Justin is I have no scenes with Justin in that movie so I don't really feel like I've done a movie with Justin yet oh it's a good point we were in the same movie but they didn't have the scene together I me [ __ ] see
it whatever um you don't see a lot of my stuff I try not to watch anything if if and I don't take it personally give me credit if it's a series credit if it's a series um I watched maybe the first two episodes I still have no idea how the politician ended I have no idea how Hollywood end pretty sure you didn't watch the second episode of of uh of Hollywood most likely not however I did watch your death scene in Pearl you looked great dude thanks Pearl was great oh thanks was it Pearl was
amazing I yeah that's that's a that was a film that I watched and purely as an audience member I could be like that was pretty [ __ ] cool the whole trilogy is doing really well I think I haven't seen Maxine yet because is it out yet I no I don't know if it's out yet it yeah for sure it is out sorry it is out Maxine is out go see it awward yeah um I want to talk about grooming real quick because um because you talked about your hair and like facial hair and the
whole thing yeah yeah yeah um cuz we have a couple of pictures here um I want to actually go for the first time we met this this guy the weird all of these pictures are when I was very skinny um so so all of them kind of make me uncomfortable now no thank easy rer um this one that's up now is the first time you and I work together right yeah so I remember you walk no I'm good I I remember you walking out from I have any either doing like the promo billboard type pictures
and you had like glitter all over you because it was like a little magical thing where it gives you some shine yeah the makeup that we had was I had like glitter on it it was very Ryan Murphy very Ryan Murphy um yeah first time I met you uh clean shaving long hair I love the long hair on you uh with this uh thanks I mean I love how it looks too I just can't make it look like that on my own I need professionals if it's going to like look cool otherwise it just looks
like this I could help you out I uh did really well maintaining my hair when it was long so yeah did you have like products that you would use regularly for the long hair I used three products in the morning and one midday seriously so so this isn't just shampoo and conditioner and whatever when you're washing it this is like stuff you put in it that you leave in it correct so tell me what one of those was I I did a a um it's called folx it's what's the thing for hair growth met minoxidil
okay uh it's minoxidil so I put it on my there there and there then that is for but it was a product that I put on my hair I wanted the useful one which is the one that like would do in your hair I would grab like a uh as when we're talking over each other he's fine but as soon as I stop talking I would I got a mousse and I crimped it a little bit which gave me like the ringlets and then what I did was I put a little like matte um Pomade
in my roots to I don't think any of that applies to me cuz my problem being half Jewish my problem is just that it gets floofy which I think is a technical term for like too big um it needs to be really long to weigh itself down and when it's medium long it just kind of goes flum because I want to show you two images right here so you have you with the Golden Globes beautiful raffal laor and Tuxedo yeah were you with me when I got fitted for that no I was not I was
not I was I was with you before yeah in New York yeah um no uh Kimble and then the team at ra Floren took care of you over there they were great great love them awesome team um and you look sharp here the tailoring is perfect um I'll disagree on that oh wait so are we still talking about the Golden Globes yeah you pulled up another image that was that's bigger than the other one so I uh no I said I'm going to pull up two images so I have the golden glob gold Globes thing
I think is great and for like for my size then I think it's like extremely well tailored and and it's a beautiful tuxedo and I felt really good in that that's an example of like I feel comfortable when I'm done up all the way oh yeah um cuz I I know that's like it's a it's a classic look it's been a good look for a 100 years plus um and and there's no I mean there's nothing it's a uniform you're like you're trying to fit in you're just trying to fit in well and I I
felt I felt really good in that and you were there for the politician right yes think this is the politician um that was that was 29 so I had already I had already shot uh Hollywood at that point but um but the politician was nominated so that was why we're there and the slickback hair and like the like the I don't know two to three day Scruff on that solid generous it's probably like a week oh really maybe even more yeah I like that in in those days that was five years ago so it's it
grows faster now you realized in a lot of your like red carpet pictures and me I mean you play a little bit more in your um editorials but you you maintain a low brow you you don't really lift your eyebrows in pictures a slight grin interesting well okay so we got to get into this cuz I need help cuz I'm I mean the one thing I know I'm going to have to do this a lot in the next year we're going to have a lot to do so I'm going to have a lot of practice
and a lot of opportunities to make a complete fool of myself well even these two you have the left or the right hand in the pocket in both these so so that was definitely something we talked I remember before the Globes I was like give me some poses like what do I do and we talked about it we'll talk about the politician as well but you pulled up the worst picture man but I did it on purpose for this for this so the things about the tailoring that I notice are you've got the quarter inch
of white cuff of the sleeve underneath that's like tux perfect on on The Tuxedo you've got the um the jacket buttoning right at the waist of the pants so like you get the the shape of the white shirt but there's no white shirt showing underneath the pants the pants like look reasonably good it's kind of hard to see because it's dark um but it's not it's like maybe pulling a little bit at the waist it's like a little on the Slimmer side but that's very in and very cool um and the collar is sitting nicely
on the collar of my shirt and the bow tie is a real bow tie that I tied myself course you did which I take pride in I try to do that every opportunity I can um and I think the no buttons on the on the uh on the tuxedo shirt if it's Ralph it's like a clean placket so like just like keeps things looking real clean and sharp and then I asked somebody my my facial hair was like right at the stage where I was like is this just gross looking or is there enough that
that I can wear it and I I always like to not shave because when you shave you can get razor bumps or like you can cut up your face and so I prefer not to and I think like that works pretty well although you know whatever I love the tuxedo with like the the masculine rug Ed like weak old growth yeah yeah yeah speaking of uh razor bumps can I say something yeah knowing you for please ever skin looks great Skin's looking appreciate great dude appreciate really like uh moisturized and hydrated skin looking solid so
I think the I think basically it's like I started washing my face regularly and that has made all the difference like twice a day or like right after I'm done with the gym just wash your face and that helps a huge amount um cuz I I had like I had acne not terrible but I had acne in high school and I still get it but like that definitely helps a lot you were also really s not to [ __ ] Grill you right now but you were really self-conscious about your skin do you still feel
that way yeah I mean I generally don't like to go out very much um stickers yeah yeah pimple pches are those are great I don't tend to like go out wearing them so it doesn't really matter what they look like um but uh but yeah if you ever like get a zit and it's and you want to like handle it then like those little patches help a lot um the ones that people wear in public like the like are they like medicated it's the same thing as those neuro yeah I thought I thought it was
just like like young teens like just wearing them to like well that's the trick is like you think it's just decoration yeah I think but like over as it just to hide the blemish but I medicated sucks up the [ __ ] got you okay good to know um yeah as far as the uh the the look goes the reason for the low brows is like you cannot imagine how bright the lights are on these carpets especially this light is nothing compared to those lights cuz they want they want to be able to get they're
they're too far away for their flashes to be that effective and they want to get like really sharp highspeed images um like high shutter speed and so the lights are just glaring so it's really hard to like open your eyes and not squint so your like Neanderthal shaped face than I appreciate that sure it helps you it's like you don't need sunglasses he always puts his clients in sunglasses he's like [ __ ] this guy I'm waiting for you to put me in sunglasses I would make me feel like 50 red dances at dances in
high school and college so self-conscious you would wear sunglasses I would wear sunglasses and it would work so well cuz you trick yourself and the think in the room's darker and nobody can really see and you let loose and you can actually bust and move you like dancing love dancing you know who's responsible for that Ben Platt wow during the politician Ben Platt in high school no no no I was I didn't like dancing in high school Ben plat uh oh insisted you're not talking about sunglasses anymore no no I am I was I was
in high school no who's responsible for me liking dancing is what I'm saying I was talking about who is responsible you dances um the the No No the sunglasses to dances was my crutch was my way of dealing with it but Ben during the politician insisted I mean literally would threaten people that if they didn't come out over on the weekends we had like a good little crew that like got very close and if you didn't come out on the weekends you would get shamed and the main place we went was um tin oil can
Harry's there was that one time when we went to [ __ ] Darren Chris's we went to Granny's uh yeah with Patty and she sang I forgot about that yeah that was amazing she's saying a Vita um but we would go to oil can Harry's on 70s night and tear it up and I was and I was not comfortable but I was with Ben and then like the rest of the cast was girl like it was mostly just me I think yeah but like it was like a friendly group and we're surrounded by like 60-year-old
a bunch of 60-year-olds dancing to 70s music and and and I like picked up a couple of moves that I could kind of rely on and then I started letting loose and now I like dancing at your wedding was that was some of the best dancing at a at a party dancing a bunch at uh at yours first the first dance with your mom was amazing yeah yeah dancing in the rain it's great Singing in the Rain dancing danc um did we get to the blue look yeah so let's talk about the one hand in
the pocket thing that that continue the poses yeah um I'll let you run the podcast no you're fine um that that's the tough part about being on the red carpet is what to do with your hands cuz you can't just stand there awkward like a mannequin you have to do something with it like um whether it be like cross your hands or one hand in the pocket fists you know like hands behind the back there's all kinds of stuff and I think the one hand in the pocket's good especially when we get like when we're
starting to you know when you have watches on your wrists and stuff like that we'll kind of incorporate all that kind of stuff you know what's funny about the one hand in the pocket it's like it's great but it doesn't help the hand that isn't in the pocket that hand feels as awkward as it's ever felt Gosling does the fist so he'll put his hand in the fist on the the open one so yeah um this other this look um this is just a good image of you with like the again this is from that
spec shoot from Netflix um so the suit doesn't fit great because it's literally off the rack there's no tailor there so um so what doesn't fit great about it um I I would say just the I would have obviously adjusted the sleeve like a little bit but the fact I would have brought it down just a tad it's a little short just a little short but like other than that like I I I think this is like a solid from going off the rack a Paul Smith suit this is pretty damn good man yeah and
Paul Smith is great we've we've wored with them a couple times they got um I would say like this is definitely on the two slim side it it it works because I'm so skinny but I think there we like we in an era of really Slim like 6s feeling suits thin lapels thin ties um that was like what was not like edgy cool but like normal cool yeah that's what it was and this was like 2019 2018 and I do think it like it it isn't the most flattering it like it just feels a little
it looks like I feel a little uncomfortable looking at it your head's too big yes okay well that is actually hey this great point this is actually a real problem that I want to discuss I think that part of the reason I'm self-conscious in some clothes that look good on other people is because my head is so big but it works now because you bulked up to where you are definely you look way more proportional now thanks I appreciate that the rest of your life it's all been a waste up until now so got you
got to got keep it then well that's what I'm trying to do but it's it's not it's not easy I'm it's easy to keep 210 now but God I want to be 240 again I think I'm really tired of looking at pictures of David for the moment and I'm interested in potentially playing a game this is good some variety yeah so we took oh wait what game are we playing we have a few games no okay we have we have a game where it's called what is it guess know who who knows David best who
knows David best and then we're no isn't it didn't we have a [ __ ] theme song okay we had a theme song Sam's going to have to put one together so David took the time 30 minutes ago yeah totally forgot to he literally had two weeks to uh do this but it's fine to compile a list of questions where Evan and I will compete to uh reach or to State the best answer the most relevant answer just like few but that so so I watched you I watched this segment with Tony love him and
it was Fant love Tony so glad he's he's the only only repeat guest so far God bless well technically you are too you called in one time yeah that didn't work too I wouldn't even consider that that wasn't even him that was I didn't get paid for that um Matt Damon but I loved listening to Tony talk I really want to hang out with him one thing I really hope we do going forward is we can have me on with other guests I really wanted to hang out with Jack Wang super yeah Parker was amazing
loved him he I think I suggested having him on cuz I watch his stuff on Instagram um yeah it was really cool watching those and then thinking like it'd be cool to all hang out um anyway this was a good game it wasn't great because you didn't know Tony at all correct and you knew Tony pretty well yeah but he know he's on you for very long time well incorrect I'm Sally I've known him for a year we can't that doesn't make any sense and is weird let's just let's let's erase that we're not going
to cut it let's erase that from everybody's memory watching um we've known each other a long time but oh but it's not like we've been friends forever like he was just some weird guy who I weirdly was like you kind of interesting he also doesn't like talk to me about anything that's not true I talk to you about a lot you don't talk to me about sarcastic I'm being sarcastic it's for the show I know that we're really close so um the other thing I felt as the other thing I felt as an audience member
was um are weting a it should it should have been multiple choice because Tony would ask this question and I'd be like I wouldn't even know where to begin guessing and if he has a very specific answer like this is going to be worked out surprisingly that I did um are we prepared to do that outfit CH Choice thing too cuz I thought that was great where like you guess which outfit he'll choose all right so what's my inseam oh I know that I know that too go ahead okay on three one two three 34
yeah okay um we wear the same size pants we talked about this but what's my hat size 25 and a quarter do you go that or I'd say like Little Numbers it's like almost a size eight you don't understand how size going yeah it's a 7 and 3/4 so I'll give that to you um what's my favorite movie can I say Singing in the Rain that's a fine guess but no it's not my favorite movie [ __ ] do you even know like are you even in the yeah cuz it's I we I think we
watched it a group of us okay do you remember anything about it yeah there I think it was a detective yep that's right um and it's it's not a two detectives it's one guy it's it it is one but it's also a little bit to and I think correct me if I'm wrong they try to solve a crime that's not an extra thing that's what has DET you ready that doesn't dri I got it I got it I got it octopusy no that's my least favorite James Bond movie um and also the worst James Bond
theme song My Ian and I my friend would have like had a burned CD of all the James Bond theme songs because we loved the we love James Bond so much and and the theme songs and that awful starts with like a sax oh you think that you like it's like a weird no it's terrible jazzu no no no um favorite movie is Hot Fuzz my God [ __ ] dick technically about he's not technically a detective but a police officer goes to a small town they do Sol W that's crazy [ __ ] bro
no something like it hot hot fuzz is the second in the trilogy called the Cornetto Trilogy Sean no not Sean pen what the [ __ ] am I saying no no Sha of the Dead is the first in the in the trilogy but it's written by Edgar Wright and uh and Simon Peg somewh recent no 200 okay yeah yeah but I'm saying like I thought it was like 70s or ' 80s oh no no no no no no that I think you're the one that turned me on to those they're great movies I highly recommend
if you had haven't seen Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz and World's End or yeah um it's a it's a very solid Trilogy and like the Star Wars Trilogy the second is by far the best I have never to this seen any Star Wars movies yeah that's fine I've given up on you um okay if there's one kind of character I could play in a movie in my life what would it be a Star Wars character Superman okay okay Superman's your guess a Star Wars character you want to be more specific and get the
points oh [ __ ] like a like a a kind of character oh um a Jedi yeah Jedi is correct cool all right so I'm going to steal a little bit from Tony because he's no I'll come to that a window or aisle seat or middle seat but obviously not I just rode middle today it was awful I think you're too big for is think go I think go window is that the subway with oh the train he's an I'm sorry he's a window guy well you said window and you said aisle first so I'm
going to give you the point it's not yeah um too big for the aisle what the hell does that mean sometimes like like I I feel like if I sit in the aisle my shoulders always open like to the a like I'm getting crushed by extra room that you get with the if you if you curve up into the window you have like then you almost have a little bit of room see I can't then you get scoliosis yeah see if if my head scoliosis and getting crushed by carts and people all the time in
window what you have to do is you have to either remain alert or make friends with everybody so that they'll alert you see how I'm sitting but about sleeping pry no no that's why you're nice early on in the flight cuz then the flight attendants they pay attention to you as they come by and if they see that you're sleeping they'll they won't just barge into you yeah you're just being an [ __ ] as you board the plane not caring about anybody well now I fly first class everywhere I go so I don't have
to worry about that Hollywood Jesus Christ um pants or shorts pants shorts pants every time really never shorts you know why you wear shorts a lot self conscious about my skinny leg yep I got sh legs though m is skinnier than yours uh okay now though quads for what for what it's worth my legs are actually really big for my size but I'm just so tall that and my head's so big that it doesn't show up um the head uh uh stealing from Tony what's my favorite weather to dress for bonus points if you if
you get the city as well sure I think you were just kind of complaining about the heat but I I'm going to go uh favorite weather to dress for not to hang out in I'm going uh I'm going like early February hell likes early February anywhere okay go ahead go ahead no no no you might be right I I think I'd say uh I think you're like again like like dressing up and like layer so January New York um or even I I'll go December may I think you're Christmas guy yeah Co North Face layer
you know all that stuff North Face uh golden go the the whole golden golden golden goose is a shoe company uh the cold down Jack thing can can yeah a little earlier I'm thinking October 2015 we're in we're in Brooklyn New York and we're uh talking about shooting a music video we're not in Brooklyn in 2015 um uh but you're right like fall in New York um cuz cuz in winter I never figured out a good winter jacket situation but like a sweater or a jacket over a t-shirt layers long pants boots um and I
love New York in the fall like as you're coming towards winter and you're like you see it on the you like just started school how long did you spend in New York six years four years four years in school and then two years after so the whole like winter to Spring to Summer you I feel like you get more seasons they're called yeah yeah you get more though versus like spring but I'm saying like spring in New York is is non-existent I feel like you go from winter to summer Beau Spring's amazing in New York
just last two weeks um yeah that's what I saying I don't really remember it only lasting two weeks a little longer um it it just depends if you don't like when summer hits you don't like when it gets hot then yeah it feels like spring is real fast but I love New York in the summer because every it felt like everybody went away and like you could be outside you could finally walk like comfortably um and I I'm not bothered being too hot particularly got yeah you sweat yeah I sweat mostly for my forearms is
that weird forearms do people do [ __ ] weird it's bizarre yeah I'm from the forehead back of the head chest back honestly it's kind of a gift you have to be that Hydro whatever thank you it's the only reason why I'm not 400 lb yeah H any other questions for us oh yeah yeah um and you can cut any of these that aren't goodine aren't fun um we probably have like 15 more minutes um brand a sneaker what Brandon sneaker did I wear in middle school and why am I um why am I mad
about it sneaker in middle school okay I got it I got it yeah I got it I got it I got it yeah go man he wore speres and he's mad about it because we [ __ ] hat SP did wear boat shoes very briefly my first year of college um cuz I pledged a fraternity and that's what they wore and I was trying to fit in what fraternity can you say it Kappa Sigma okay um I wasn't in it ever I just pledged it and then I left to go to acting school um I
wore New Balances and I'm pissed because now New Balances are like all of a sudden they weren't cool when I was wearing themit um what was my dog's other potential name apart from Ira gerswin to be fair it's my mom's dog she raised him I just stole him yeah and okay name was and it was already Ira was already named but you wanted to name him some no no no it was it was there was another option and Ira gerswin was what we what we went with and I'm sure I'm stealing this from somewhere neither
of you are going to get this VI actually I think I do know go for it Steve Irwin no Wolf Gang I'm a dog is mozar and if I if somebody knows where I stole that from please tell me I'm trying to figure it out but you don't know you heard you know you heard it somewhere but you kep I'm sure I did I didn't make it up it's too good um uh goto outfit growing up we already talked about um okay at the Olympics Nick Holt and I competed to guess the judges scores of
the high dive who won that competition and was it close or was it a blowout the competition between you and Nick yes not who won the gold medal it was for okay it was for sure you winning the competition because you're a dancer okay was it close or was it a blowout f a huge blowout Nick knows nothing I Nick I Nick I think is like an athlete type so he's might have paid attention to these kind of judgment or judges kind of I'll say right now Nick is an athlete he does pay attention he's
an incredibly smart man oh yeah so he blew you out and he loves a competition so he blew you out wrong I killed him did you facts um what's the piece of clothing or outfit that I wish I could pull off but I know I can't a Kil that you wish you could pull off but no you can't golly that's tough yeah I mean Western Wear boots I mean you're very CL it's a Canadian tuxedo if I could do all Denim and feel good about and honestly cowboy boots like I don't wear them but I
bought my first pair of cowboy boots for your wedding and I'm so glad I have them and I wish I could figure out when else I could wear them it's another uh okay so um preferred haircut SL facial hair combo buzzed with like a weak growth complete opposite down to the shoulders huge okay um we went over that okay what was my sketch comedy show called and who did I play and what was the main plotline when was when was this I've only had one sketch comedy show it was in 2016 let him guess first
this's com show was this like for can the public watch a web series yeah it's available on on YouTube all the episodes of season one and two I mean you're G to kick yourself when he says it go ahead Kafka it was referred to as a cka key and Peele Mo and Jerry weather baby and my boy played Mo Jerry weather I did play Jerry weather heard before you've never heard of it dude it's unfuckingbelievable and the main plot line was that we were mistaken for Russian spies it's great um who is this with uh
my colleague Adam Langdon uh who was year above me at juliard complete opposite kind of person D it was such a good pairing um I once I was once asked by a fashion brand in an interview what brand I have the most of in my closet my answer was not useful and did not get published what was it I'm trying think of a brand that you would know what to say it's a good place to start I you ready do you think you know what he probably said Target I was going to say like haes
or something not a bad guess but it's even better and worse than that Ross no no it's not more generic than that it's like more specifically better they were like oh we definitely like I hope you said it's like well that's not an answer but right I hope or if he said like Kirkland or like like like a Costco brand LL Bean um uh this was Julia's idea um how tall is my brother-in-law oh he's a big boy uh 67 66 uh for bonus points how much does he weigh when we were working out together
how much did he weigh do you think he went up or down okay he stayed the same actually he just recomposed uh 260 260 is a good guess he's a great guy 247 247 no 260 but he's 68 Tim God Tim the best the best in the world um okay great that's that's all I've got there somebody won I'm sure will flash on screen I did I I did not win there's no way wow I'll need to watch that back I don't trust re that's pretty cool re scoring I don't know it's true yeah so
I I think we honestly wrap it up right here um it's it's now like where do we want to go yeah yeah so we've got some work ahead of we have a lot of work ahead of us um this movie comes out July 11th 2025 July 11th put on your calendars fix 10 months to get ready for this all right good luck I feel like we're going to be starting pretty soon too um I'm going to show you three looks here okay we're going to start with with the politician yep um immediately when I saw
this picture come up I was like why did he button the jacket I should I should have coached you up a little bit on it no no you did to your credit you said don't the jacket this this Armani I I I love this piece I still love this piece uh threepiece there's a little bit of like a there's a tie clip up on the collar um and I and the posture all of it like I think it's great I think I think the look is great but I was like if I saw this I
was like unbutton the jacket and just your posture okay so so um this was my first premiere like red carpet Premiere Pink Carpet whatever um I was doing my best um posture is definitely something I've always had to work on still have to work on uh it just I when I relax my shoulders slump and I like Bend forward at the at the shoulders I hate to interject but this was not your first red carpet Premiere I think you had a red carpet premiere for a movie called uh yeah yeah we won't talk about that
got it um uh so this I loved this suit it was really comfortable I felt good in it um leaving the jacket unbuttoned is a thing that traditionally you only do with like tails and so my dad's voice in my head was like I don't care what he says about not buttoning the jacket you button the jacket um now I did take some photos with the but jacket unbuttoned and that's something we got to talk about too is like what are the options for when you're standing out on the carpet for that long and people
taking photos like one nice thing to be able to do is button and unbutton the jacket you know always and I'll always tell my people like hey when you when you walk out there especially like double breasted walk out there with it undone or walk walk out there with it done and then unbutton as you go yeah cuz then you get a couple different pictures and we did that we did that in the next one pretty effectively I think um but but uh yeah yeah I mean the postures a no that's okay so this was
one this is a double breasted jacket from Paul Smith which I loved I was not sure I was going to feel good about this I don't love a t-shirt under a under a jacket cuz it just doesn't feel right but it was a cool look I felt good in it um and with the movie that you were promoting too look both ways it it's nothing there's nothing formal that needed to be be happening you know this was more a more low-key look um and and the like size of the double breasted jacket really helped it
was a looser cut um a little bit bigger this was I think right before like the bag your pants if anything now you look back and like obviously the leg is so skinny although I have to say I don't mind the skinny leg here I think it's one of those things where like the imbalance helps like the slightly bigger on top down to a taper down to the boots is like a very interesting shape and a clean look and you get this sort of V taper with the white t-shirt underneath the jacket and you get
the V taper with my whole silhouette down to the boots um I love a a baggy pant and like a pleated pant but in this case I think this is a pretty cool look um I also like the photos where I button that double breasted jacket which you hated but no is traditionally you never wear a double Jack it's good to know too cuz you're going to bring these oldfashioned traditions in the newer stuff and and I appreciate that um I don't think we need to get into this one I think we're going to wrap
wait what do you think about that last one I I love I love this one um Brunello hooked it up uh this is one of those where it's going to be tough because obviously um with where you live and obviously going back from New York to LA whatever I'm gonna have to get help from some Brands and Brunello you just went in you met some of the Brello team like like you did with Ralph for the Golden Globes um you got to meet them and um I I love this look at double brast is great
on you if anything I would have undone the shirt one more button but um I think it's I think it's sharp man yeah and I think my posture and my pose is better I'm like much more I like I like the smirk like you know a secret that the audience you know but here here's another thing is like it all depends how tall the photographers are oh interesting because if they're taking it from up above yeah you've trained him well I I wanted to say that a while ago oh cool thanks just unrelatedly or about
the like I've gotten better yeah from the first posture from the what's also annoying too and usually like on a bigger pressor we'll know what the background is cu if it's that dark I wouldn't put you in that dark of a suit it looks fine like it you know the the shirt and and my face pop from it um the jacket the suit kind of Blends in but the brown shoes help if it was the black shoes it would be screwed you know um so so okay so you you really want to wrap this up
you don't want to talk to me anymore we can wrap it up let's wrap it up yeah yeah great so so wrap it let talk about the future let's talk about the I regret not asking you all the questions that I wanted to ask you but we'll no ask ask ask ask what you want to no we don't have time for that we four or five minutes so Evan what are we going to do for this press tour I'm gonna I'm going to be dressed how many times you've done more of these than I have
how many outfits am I going to wear over the next year over the next oh my God over the next year it's going to be upwards of like 30 to 40 press you think only 30 to 40 I think only the 30 to 40 yeah you think it's going to be more I hope it's more hey I hope it's more I got kids to feed um but I I I I I want to go dressier with you I think you look good in the suit thank you and even if it's broken down and we wear
t-shirts on some days okay we don't have to we can we can find a good buttonup shirt that you like a lot that we can kind of get every single one of but I I I like you in a suit I think you are Superman you are representing a brand you are the lead of the film so obviously you got to treat you like a leading man so having you in a suit on majority of of days and it doesn't have to be red carpet press like we'll figure all that stuff out but I think
so how do you how do you find Variety in suits like what do you what do you do for variety versus like keeping to a theme oh I think it's just like colors Fabrics textures time of the year because I think who knows like I don't know if yeah something maybe as something might be happening exactly in December some things will happen in in the spring and then we obviously the movies is going to come out in summer so you can't go Tweed you can't go heavy like RL type suits in that in the summer
although if we're in the southern hemisphere true when you flip it yeah actually that's a [ __ ] that's a good point so can I style can I style one of these abely yeah 100% we're going to need ideas thrown out so please I thought you were going to say we need ID we're going to need ID need to know who the hell you are who is Sally John that's the whole thing so when you have so is Suits the theme or like obviously we're going to have to Hash this out this was what we're
here for let's hash it out what what look this is the first time I've seen you in person in a long time okay well just throw out your first idea then I suits was my idea so just suits like is there is there a progression where you get more formal as you get towards the premieres is it like if you're sitting down doing a junk it or whatever you're a little casual like 100% CU I want you you're going to be sitting in is there anything where like every single time I've got a Superman shirt
on under so when I I can every time canot happen I the last thing I want to do is get like what about a full suit didn't Jack Wade wear a full super comic that's ComicCon you understand and he's he's playing an animated character um but no I I obviously with junkets I want you to be as comfortable as possible so if we find a fun cool suit that Brands make that are easy and fabrics are what story are we trying to tell here I I this is where I think we got to discuss it
I'd love to I'd love to tell a story did we save it for the next one the next episode you mean you'll have me back of course pleasure back well you you are part of the show so you have made the show you know yeah um yeah so we need yeah yeah we'll have you back listen I'd love to end this on like an Earnest note of being like guys you've done such a great job and that but we did most of that at the beginning and thank you but it's been it's it's hard to
get compliments from you honestly so we app why why why oh you're a tough you're the toughest critic of all I don't give compliments I I spit facts 100% And the fact is I think you guys are doing a great job and it's fun to talk to you guys it's a it's a good time I I could recommend to all my friends to come on this podcast all of my three friends two of whom are in this room yeah and Nick Hol Nick what a guy I do I would love to get him on the
podcast I have no idea whether he would stoop to these uh these depths he's a classy guy I know he's in Venice right now yeah do you see his looking I love his looks great thr his look he's been doing a great job next time we got to talk about the difference between Stills and motion like there's some looks that look great in motion and not good when they're standing still yeah good point anyway we'll get through it uh cheers to Nick Hol yeah Nick Hol and Superman and David Corin thank you for being here
man hey appreciate it love you guys uh manly things [Music]
