Do you know which are the 10 richest states in Brazil currently? Well, in this video, you will find out! The 10th richest state in Brazil is Pernambuco, with a GDP of R$197 billion, which is equivalent to 2.
7% of the national GDP. It has 9 million inhabitants. Its economy is quite diversified, with highlights being the petrochemical, naval, automobile, steel and textile industries.
In agriculture, Pernambuco is one of the largest producers of table grapes, acerola, guava, mango and sugar cane. In the tertiary sector, the biggest highlight is tourism. The state is one of the main tourist destinations in Brazil.
The 9th richest state in Brazil is Goiás, with a GDP of R$208 billion, which is equivalent to 2. 8% of Brazil's GDP. Its population is 7 million inhabitants.
The state's main economic sectors are construction, food, public utility industrial services, petroleum derivatives, biofuels and chemicals. In agriculture, Goiás is one of the largest producers of tomatoes, corn and soybeans in Brazil. Tourism is also quite relevant, with highlights being thermal waters, places untouched by man, caves, waterfalls, and historic cities such as Pirenópolis and Cidade de Goiás.
The 8th richest state in Brazil is the Federal District, with a GDP of R$273 billion, which is equivalent to 3. 7% of the national GDP, and a population of 3 million inhabitants. Its economy is highly concentrated in the tertiary sector, more specifically, in the public sector.
Commerce is also of great importance for its economy, in addition to, of course, tourism, especially historical and business. The 7th richest state in Brazil is Bahia, with a GDP of R$293 billion, which is equivalent to 4% of the national GDP. Its population is approximately 15 million inhabitants. The main economic sectors in Bahia are agriculture, industry, mining and services.
In agriculture, the state is the largest national producer of some fruits such as cocoa, coconut, soursop, jackfruit, mango, passion fruit and others. 4% of the national GDP, and has a population of 7 million inhabitants. Its economy is very diversified, with the north of the state being a technology, furniture and metal-mechanic hub. The west concentrates food and furniture production activities.
The south stands out for the clothing, disposable plastics, coal and ceramic segments. Other regions such as Planalto Serrano and Vale do Itajaí are specialized in various areas such as the paper, textile, naval and other industries. Furthermore, tourism is another strong point of the Santa Catarina economy.
