honestly you couldn't write what's going on in Hollywood right now as I know many of you guys really enjoy the videos on the critical Drinker and Hollywood's continued reaction to the growing online fandom community and for some reason Hollywood continue to attack these channels and fans on a weekly basis at this point and while it does make for interesting videos it is kind of shocking to see how often mainstream topof the- industry media companies choose to attack these various Channels with the latest one being from Rolling Stone magazine as they chose to release an article
on the acolytes cancellation with the title being can the best of Star Wars survive the worst of the fandom and as you can see in the subtitle they also go on to say before Star Wars can have another successful show some vocal parts of the fandom have to reckon with what they really want out of the franchise now we know what they mean by quote unquote vocal parts of the fandom as this has become the new wording they use to refer to the online fandom and critic channels from Star Wars Theory to nerd rodic and
the critical Drinker as the word vocal really means fans that get many views and make loud noise that the industry Can't Ignore because millions of people agree with them but already in the very title of the article there is some inconsistency as Disney I'm sure wouldn't cancel the series if only a small yet vocal part of the fandom didn't like it if most fans liked the show then it would have made money for Disney plus and they would have renewed it for a season 2 it doesn't matter how vocal some people may be I have
never heard of a show being a massive success and then being completely wiped it show business at the end of the day they make decisions based on business in other words profits so while I don't doubt that some people enjoyed the show I can't see how it could have been the majority of fans based on the simple fact that the show was cancelled but this is only the first controversial point of this article so let's move on to cover the many more however as Rolling Stone charge a hefty price for their subscription in order to
read the full article I will use clips from Star Wars Theory's reaction to this very article in full in order to get the right references so special thanks to Star Wars theory for not being as cheap as I am and actually paying for the entire thing but anyways as we scroll down the article we hit the next controversial point they make where they choose to agree with this tweet and share it within their article here we get to one good moneymaker topic the worst part about the acolyte being cancelled isn't the cancellation itself but knowing
exactly which part of the Star Wars fan base Disney listened to in order to go ahead with this decision stop caving to pressure and stand your ground now I really don't get how you can refer to these massive Channels with massive followings in the millions as quotee unquote that part of the fan base I mean clearly they speak for a large portion of the fan base given how many people choose to support them and agree with their analysis so even if you don't agree with the critical Drinker or Star Wars Theory you have to acknowledge
that many people do and for Rolling Stone to agree with this sentiment just doesn't sit right with me because even myself as a small Independent Media Channel I can't just ignore what majority of the fan bases are saying for example if I personally enjoyed a show or a movie but then saw that most fans didn't like it and we know most fans didn't like it because it was cancelled I can't then just say that they are dumb or stupid or pretend that they don't exist I have to acknowledge that fact and respect them as fans
and as people and do right by them in my videos and actually acknowledge the truth of the situation which is that the show simply failed because even if I liked it which I didn't like the acolyte by the way but even if I did the show still failed because the goal of any show is to please most of the audience and tell their story in a way that actually engages the audience and so if the show engaged me but didn't engage most people then the show simply failed and I don't see why as media companies
you can't acknowledge that or just paint an accurate picture of the situation because the critical Drinker is a fan and critic that deserves respect and him and the millions of others that agree with him should not be demeaned or treated like less of a person for having their own opinion now let's get to this next point of the article well before the show premiered vocal online fans mocked stenberg's casting calling the series evidence that Disney was cap capitulating to a woke Crowd by having multiple people of color in the cast They also criticized news that
the show would include queer characters including a coven of witches we didn't know that until the actual episode of The Power of Two the power of many now this is a commonly used argument to diminish the opinions of the fans that didn't like the show but I think if we analyze the situation as honestly as possible we have to acknowledge that most fans aren't bigoted and that most of the backlash before the show during and after had absolutely nothing to do with bigotry from the Star Wars fans that's why Samuel Jackson doesn't get attacked by
Star Wars fans or John boa wasn't attacked when the ray Trilogy came out in fact most fans were disappointed with how John boa's character of Finn was mishandled throughout the entire Trilogy as they wanted more from his character not less and if we look at the many negative reviews online for the accolite it's mostly attacking the story and the way everything unfolded in terms of entertainment and the way that it just failed to engage its audience also the way it just retconned various aspects of Star Wars as well and now like I said if we
are being honest we can see that of course there would be an extremely small portion of people that chose to attack the show entirely due to the ethnicity color or background of its actors but that is most definitely not the majority because I've made this point many times in the past but I'll do it again now Ahsoka didn't get half the amount of back lash that the acolyte did despite having the exact same level of diversity same goes for the Mandalorian the only difference between those shows is the actual story not diversity as they were
exactly the same therefore the story obviously has to be the problem and I just want to add here that none of this is opinion based my opinion doesn't matter at the end of the day all I'm here to do in this video is reflect the entire situation and acknowledge the reality of what is happening as there is zero evidence to support the argument that most Star Wars fans are bigoted so I just think that rhetoric needs to stop but now let's get to the final point of this article however it's all too easy to imagine
how a show with an already expensive budget over 100 million yeah why don't you say 180 million close to 200 million according to deadline might be easier to scrap entirely rather than contend with the potential of another lackluster an ill-received season now right here they literally Adit Adit that it was an ill-received season doesn't that rcom The Stance they've taken from the very beginning of this article I mean they say the season was only ill-received by a vocal part of the fandom but right here at the end of the article they admit that it was
just ill received the season bombed it's nothing personal this isn't an attack this is just the truth of the situation the season just failed to do what it set out to do which was engage fans and get a good response from the Star Wars community and I want to say that I'm all for Star Wars trying to find a cool new story to tell that's perfectly fine but when a new Direction fails let's just admit it failed and move on to something that can hopefully please most of the fan base I mean Rolling Stone literally
agreed with everything I've stated here in this video by the end of their article yet most of their article including the title paints a completely different picture so I really don't understand what's going on here personally I just think media should unpack analyze and reflect the trending situations in Hollywood and not try to ignore certain opinions or voices but reflect all the voices and let you guys the real fans the people and the backbone of the entire entertainment industry because it's you who purchase the product media should just let you guys make up your own
minds and it's our job to reflect the entire situ situation so you can make up your minds accurately unless I'm doing a review then of course that's going to be entirely opinion-based but that's my right when it comes to the reviews not when it comes to the actual statistics of a show or how successful it was in terms of its metrics and achieving the targets it's set out to achieve but anyways what are your thoughts on this entire situation let me know Down Below in the comments and if you like the video please hit the
