5 and 8. 5 into 11 so I'm going to use 8. 5 into 11 next select the number of PAG you want in your Journal usually journals are designed with around 120 pages to provide enough space for writing so let's enter 120 and click calculate Dimensions you can see that we have got the right dimensions for the journal Now to create the cover page with these Dimensions we're going to download this template and use it to make sure the cover page is placed correctly so let's click download and it will be downloaded to your computer once you've got the template let's go to to the third step which is to design the cover page to design it just click the link in the description and it'll take you to this tool this is the tool which is going to help us design the cover page of our Journal so to design it click Start designing and sign in with your Google account first we need to set the size of our car page so click custom size here change the units to inches then enter the dimensions we got from KDP calculator and click create new design so you will get this blank page here you need to upload the template which you just downloaded just go to uploads click upload files select the template and it will be added just click on it and resize it to fit the screen as you can see the right side is for the front cover the left side is for the back cover and the middle section is the spine of the journal okay now to design our cover page we need the images so to create the images for our cover page we've created a tool that generates professional and high quality cover images for books so just click the link in the description now go to book covers and here you'll find the options to create different types of cover images first let's create the front cover for our Journal so let's go to journal front cover here enter the theme of your Journal once everything is set click generate image and as you can see the image for our front cover is ready and you can view the prompt here if you want to make any changes you can do it right here and regenerate the image to download the image click here and it will be downloaded next let's generate the image for the back cover first copy this prompt then use it to create the image for the back cover click example then open Journal back cover paste The Prompt here and click generate image as you can see the back cover image has been generated perfectly matching the color and the style of the front cover so let's download it okay now that we've generated the images for the cover page let's add them to our design go back to canva and upload the images you just created once they uploaded drag the front C image and drop it onto the template now adjust its size so that it fits perfectly in this area and make sure your image reaches the red margin also the main content of your image like your text or logo must be inside this area if any important elements go beyond the red margin your cover will be rejected during the review process okay our front cover is ready in the same way let's add the back cover of our Journal so just drag and drop it once you're done let's add the middle portion which is the spine of the journal so to add it just go to elements drag the shape drop it here and fill this portion if you want to change the color you can do it from here okay so now we have sucessfully designed the cover page now to download it go to share click download then click here and select the file type as PDF print this is the most suitable format for publishing on Amazon KDP click download and the cover page will be downloaded to your computer okay so now we have sucessfully created the cover page for our Journal so let's go to the second part of the video which is to create the pages for our journal to create the pages we are going to do two steps the first step is to download the page template now if you want you can design the pages from scratch using canva but if you're looking for a quicker and a much easier option you can use rade page templates which are available online so to download the page template just click the link in the description below and it will take you to this website this is the website where we are going to download the page template just go here and search for editable Journal sheet you'll see a variety of templates which you can use for the journal if you're looking for free templates go to freebies choose the template you like from here click download and it will be downloaded to your computer once you downloaded the page template let's go to the Second Step which is to design the pages now in this step we're going to customize the template to create the pages for our journal to do that open the template you just downloaded click here then click use template and the pages will be added to canab as you can see there are five pages in this template now you can edit the pages however you want let's say you want to rearrange these two elements just drag them where you want you can also resize them by clicking and dragging the corners like this to change this text just click on it and enter the text you want in the same way you can edit the other pages so let's say you want to add an element to your page to do that just go to elements and search for the ones you want I'm going to search for fall leaves then drag it and drop it here in the same way you can edit the other pages of your Journal once you're done click here and since we need 120 Pages for our Journal let's create them with duplicating the ones we already designed to do that just select the pages click on the plus symbol and the pages will be duplicated keep repeating this until you have 120 pages in total and there you go the pages for your Journal are ready so let's download it just click share and click download select the file type as PDF print and click download and the pages will be downloaded to your computer so now we have successfully designed the pages of our Journal next let's go to the final part of the video which is to publish the journal on Amazon now we are going to publish it in just three simple steps the first step is to create an account on Amazon KDP Amazon KDP is a free self-publishing platform that lets authors and creators publish journals or any type of book directly to Amazon so to create the account on Amazon KDP just click the link in the description below and you will get this page now click join KDP then enter these details and click create it will take you to the KDP dashboard so now you have successfully created the account on Amazon KDP once you have created an account let's go to the Second Step which is to add the details to our Journal so to add the details let's click create and it will ask you to choose any one of these options since we are creating a journal we will choose paperback so that when a customer purchases a journal Amazon will print the paperback copy and deliver it to the customer click on create paperback and you will get this page to publish a journal on Amazon we have to complete these three sections one by one the first section is paperback details where we have to enter all all the details of our Journal first enter the title of your Journal scroll down and enter the name of the author then we will add a small description of the journal and once you're done here you can select whether you have the copyrights of your Journal since we have used all our own content to create our Journal let's choose this option then choose no here once that is done next you need to select a category of your journal to to make it easier to the list when you publish on Amazon click choose categories now click here and you will see a variety of categories to choose from I'm going to choose self-help as my main category then select Journal writing once you're done click save changes and since we're creating a journal select low content book here finally it will ask you to enter the keywords for your Journal so whenever VOR searches for one of the keywords your Journal will appear in the search result result enter the keywords and click save and continue you can see we have saved
