domestic work it's really the most important work in capitalist society because it produces the workers without workers there is no work well you know the analysis that we have made of the specific form of exploitation the women suffer in our society in capitalist society you know have led us to the conclusion that the marriage contract has actually been a labor contract because no we marry for love but as I wrote in one pamphlet they call it love we call it an paid labor in reality marriage and the whole legislation and all the rules that organize
the nuclear family are part of the function that women's work in the family and the family itself has in the reproduction of the workforce in other words you know through marriage you have an exchange between men and women the wage worker know becomes the supporter of his wife who provides services to him but through these services you know the woman in particular and all women reproduce the workforce so they were as it appeared the marriage is motivated by love and it appears that housework is a personal service to a man or to children in reality
it's a capitalist organization of the reproduction of the workforce you know so we said the family the house is women's factory it's the place where day by day and then generationally you know we do all the jobs all the activities that are necessary to reproduce labor to the reduce people's capacity to work the capacity to work is not something nature is consumed is used in the labor process and it's us its generation of women who have done the work of producing it this means that the whole capitalist class all the employers you know have benefited
immensely from this work they have not needed to produce to create an infrastructure to allow workers to go every day to a job we have been the infrastructure no and so the conclusion we have we have come to is that this work it's really the most important work in capitalist society because it produces the workers without workers there is no work no other forms of work so domestic work that traditionally has been made invisible not considered a real work in reality is the base the foundation the support of every other work activity and now we
say you know all the world we see around us we too have produced it it's not being only the wage worker we are part of the perpetuation of this capitalist machine and these capitalist accumulation process [Music] you [Music]
