There will be different degrees of rewards when He comes. He will bring His rewards with Him. You'll receive it because it is part of your inheritance as a child of God.
It is based on the fact that you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, repented of your sins. It also looks like there are different rewards for those who are soul winners meaning fishers of men. Those people - believers - who took the command of God seriously to go and make disciples of all people and all nations.
The Bible also talks about five crowns for believers. You will have to give account. You will be judged for everything you have done here on earth whether good or bad.
The rewards you will receive in heaven - those are based on your works. Hey guys. Did you know that all Christians will be judged by God as well?
That is what Scripture says, not just unbelievers but also believers will be judged based on what they did on earth. Read it with me. 2 Corinthians 5:6: Yes, we are of good courage and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please Him. So clearly He's talking to Christians here. And listen to what He says in Verse 10: For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
Again, Paul is talking to believers here. Some of you might say well Daniel this doesn't make any sense because Scripture says that we have been declared as righteous the day we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. So we should have no condemnation because why should we be judged if Jesus already carried our sins on the cross?
Well yes you are right, Scripture does say that. For those who are in Christ, there is no condemnation. Let me read it to you.
Romans 8:1: There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Hang in there - this will all make sense very soon. Salvation is a gift.
We cannot save ourselves by our own deeds. Salvation is a gift from Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8 clearly says: For by grace you have been saved through faith and this is not your own doing.
It is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. So salvation is a gift. It is not based on your works but the rewards you will receive in heaven - those are based on your works.
You will have to give account. You will be judged for everything you have done here on earth, whether good or bad. So you see, it's a different type of judgment.
Matthew 16:27: For the Son of man is going to come with His angels in the glory of His Father and then He will repay each person according to what he has done. So these are two different judgments - Jesus Christ will judge all sinners, to give them the punishment according to what they had done. Eternal punishment.
And then also all believers - to give them their rewards. Let me give you an example. Revelation 20:11 says: Then I saw a great white throne and Him who was seated on it.
From His presence earth and sky fled away and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne. And books were opened, then another book was opened which is The Book of Life.
And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them and they were judged each one of them according to what they had done.
You see, every time judged according to what they had done. Verse 14: Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.
And if anyone's name was not found written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. So when we read Scripture we see that there are basically two judgments for unbelievers and for believers. We as believers - our judgment is called the judgment seat.
Two words. But when we read it in the Greek - the Greek has only one word for it and it is called bema. We see the same word in Romans 14:10.
Why do you pass judgment on your brother or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. The judgment seat of God.
The bema of God. This is amazing. If you are a true reborn Christian you will stand before this bema of God and He will judge you based on everything you have done and give you your rewards.
Now apart from eternal salvation that all believers will receive, it also looks like there will be different degrees of rewards. Paul said this to the believers in Corinth. 1 Corinthians 3:12: According to the grace of God given to me like a skilled master builder I lay a foundation and someone else is building upon it.
Let each one take care how he builds upon it for no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid which is Jesus Christ. So in essence Paul is telling the believers - be very careful on how you build the church. Not to change it but to keep it according to Christ.
The example that He set for us. He is the foundation that was laid. Paul built upon that foundation and he's warning other believers to build upon it and not change that foundation.
So many false prophets do it today. Many false teachers will be judged by God. Verse 12: Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one's work will become manifest.
For the day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire. So your works are compared to gold, silver, wood, hay, straw, all of those things. Will it stand when you stand in front of the bema seat of Christ when He judges you?
I'll read it again. Listen closely. Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one's work will become manifest.
For the day will disclose it because it will be revealed by fire and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. Now again we are not saved by our works, right? But at the bema seat for our rewards we will be judged for our works.
Now I also want to explain something here and that is that today there are many people who believe - who profess that they are Christians - but they are not. You will know them by their fruits, remember? So God will also reveal the works of these people and they will think that they are Christians and then Jesus will say go away from me because I never knew you.
Matthew 7:22. Now listen to Verse 14: If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss though he himself will be saved but only as through fire.
So let me just explain this. If you are a Christian but you do good works wrongly, then those works will be burned up. They will mean absolutely nothing.
Let me give you an example . There are some people who want to help poor people but the intention of their heart is wrong. They do it because they want to boast about it.
They want to feel good. It's about pride and they want other people to see how good they are. That means absolutely nothing.
Instead, you should have done it where nobody knows about it. The right hand doesn't know about the left, what the left hand is doing, right? You do it because you want to out of love, because you act through the Spirit and not the flesh.
You can do a lot of things in the name of God and it means absolutely nothing because you do it in the flesh. Now remember Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:10: We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body whether good or evil. So this implies that there are different degrees of rewards in heaven.
Let's look at another example of Jesus Himself, where he told a parable. He said in Luke 19:11: A nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and then returned calling ten of his servants. He gave them 10 minas and said to them, "Engage in business until I come.
" But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him saying we do not want this man to reign over us. When he returned having received the kingdom he ordered these servants to whom he had given the money to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by doing business. The first came before him saying, "Lord, your mina has made ten minas more and He said to him, "Well done good servant.
Because you have been faithful in very little, you shall have authority over ten cities". And the second came saying, "Lord, your mina has made five minas. " And He said to him "and you are to be over five cities".
You see, it seems like there are different rewards for the different works they had done. The next verse, Verse 20, says: Then another came saying, "Lord, here is your mina which I kept laid away in a handkerchief, for I was afraid of you because you are a severe man. You take what you did not deposit and reap what you did not sow" He said to him, "I will condemn you with your own words you wicked servant".
Now, there are many other passages that we can read. There is another parable where one servant dug a hole in the ground and buried his money there. It's the same thing - there are other parables - but we can read about it the whole day.
What is clear though is that apart from receiving different rewards in heaven, all of us, will also receive similar rewards, the same rewards irrespective of what you did on earth. Your works. You'll receive it because it is part of your inheritance as a child of God.
It is based on the fact that you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. You repented of your sins and you received regeneration. The Holy Spirit, sealed until the day of redemption.
James 1:2 says: Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him. What you need to understand here is that true reborn Christians will always stand the test of time. They will worship God until the end.
They will have to endure hardships - trials and tribulations - go through this life's ups and downs. Some will be persecuted more than others, but those who truly accepted Jesus Christ - they have been changed. They've been made new - new creations in Christ - and therefore they will stand the test of time because the Holy Spirit is in them.
But those who claim to be Christians in the flesh but have never truly accepted Jesus Christ, the Lord and Savior, repented of their sins and received the Holy Spirit - regeneration - they are not spiritually reborn. Those will not stand the test of time. Let me read this again.
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life that is eternal life which God has promised to those who love Him. Jesus also says in John 10:28: I give them eternal life and they will never perish and no one will snatch them out of my hand. So true children of God will receive eternal life.
It's their inheritance, and all that comes with it. For example, there's a lot of things that that we will have in heaven one day like eternal peace and joy. Nothing and no one will be able to steal it away.
We can actually have that even in the world that we live in today if you live through the Spirit but the moment you live in the flesh you lose it - the devil steals it - and your sinful nature steals it - but in heaven when we are with Christ the devil's not going to be there and your sinful nature is not going to be there. And you need to know because a lot of Christians don't know this, that you can still have complete joy and peace in Jesus Christ while you are on earth, when you focus on Him when you live through the Spirit, because it is the Spirit - God's Spirit - that gives it to you supernaturally. Psalm 16:11 says: You make known to me the path of life.
In your presence there is fullness of joy. At your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Too many Christians think that their happiness comes from the things that they have in this short temporary world.
Material things and also even the people they know or their status or whatever it is in this world. And they're deceived because sometimes then we think but that's how it's going to be in heaven as well. Some people talk about I want to live in mansions and they focus just on these rewards.
We need to change our perspective, not just about this life, but also about heaven, that your happiness as we call it - your joy - will not come from the rewards you receive in heaven but it will come from Jesus Himself. True joy and peace that comes from God Himself. And it it makes us content with whatever God gives us here on earth but also in heaven.
The rewards we'll receive, our status, our recognition, or all of those kind of things. We give that to Christ. That is where complete surrender comes in.
Scripture says deny yourself, pick up your cross and follow me. If you don't, you cannot be my disciple. True peace comes from when you give everything over to Christ and you understand I don't need anything.
All I need is Jesus Christ. Now, I do want to mention a few things that all believers will receive in heaven one day. No more crying, tears, or pain.
Revelation 21:4. No more separation or death. Revelation 20:6.
We will see Jesus as He is and be with Him. 1 John 3:2. We will see the New Jerusalem with gold and precious stones.
Revelation 21:22. There will be no more dark nights as God Himself will be the light. So there will be no need of a sun.
Revelation 22:5. We will be able to eat in heaven. We'll be able to see each other and have fellowship.
The angels that we will see. This new heaven, the new earth, that God will create. I cannot wait for that day.
All of it is ours in Christ, because we are heirs of God. It is our inheritance. Romans 8:16 says: The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are children of God.
And if children, then heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him. You know, the most special thing for me will be just to see Jesus himself one day and all His glory. Jesus said in John 17:24: Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me may be with me, where I am, to see my glory that you have given me, because you loved me before the foundation of the world.
You know, there's so much we can talk about here. The Bible also talks about five crowns for believers. The crown of life.
Revelation 2:10. The crown of righteousness. 2 Timothy 4:8.
The crown of glory. 1 Peter 5:4. The crown of rejoicing.
1 Thessalonians 2:9. The imperishable crown. 1 Corinthians 9: 24-25.
Usually I'll take some time and explain certain verses to you but I want you to take some time in your next Bible study and go in and read it. I want to encourage you to open the Bible more because today there are so many Christians who do not read their Bibles and it's time we do. We need to turn back to the Bible.
We as the church. Now let's move on. Apart from some of these rewards it also looks like there are different rewards for those who are soul winners, meaning fishers of men.
Those people - believers - who took the command of God seriously, to go and make disciples of all people and all nations. Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 2:19: For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at His coming? Is it not you for you are our glory and joy.
I feel the same as Paul. You know, I might never see many of you in this world - this temporary life that we have on earth - but I will see you in heaven one day. And you are my joy.
You are my glory, as Paul says, and I love each and every one of you. And it will be one of the greatest rewards for me to see you in heaven, to talk with you those of you who accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior through DLM, through how we shared the gospel here online, and also those of you who we helped on the road of sanctification to know Christ more and more and to understand what it means to be a true Christian, to abide in Him, He in us, we in Him. It will be such a joy to talk to all of you one day.
For me and my team and to my team, the unsung heroes here in DLM who many of you never see. This passage is for you. Just a reminder of the importance of what we do here on earth.
Romans 10:14: How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in Him, of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?
And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written how beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news. I don't know about you, but this world and the things of this world - all the wars, all the craziness when I see it is going on, I know our battle is not against each other but against the spiritual forces in the heavenly places, right?
And we are here for a reason - that we have to shine our lights and to save souls for Christ. And that is what I will continue to do until the day I die, because what is more important than that? To live for the pleasures - my passions here on earth?
No. To live for Jesus Christ. And I want to encourage you to do the same.
But let me tell you, the more I grow in Christ, the more my joy and peace comes from Him. The more this world and the things of this world are just - just growing dim - and I care less and less about it and the more I want to see Jesus come again. My soul yearns for Him, to see Him to come.
You know that Greek word, harpazo, to take us to where He is, so that we can be with Him forever. I can't wait for that day. And many people forget that when He comes, He will bring His rewards with Him.
Revelation 22:12. The Amplified says, behold I, Jesus, am coming quickly. And my reward is with me to give to each one according to the merit of his deeds.
Earthly works. Faithfulness. I want to encourage you to start to think about the things above - the eternal things.
A lot more than this temporary world. And to start to use everything that God has given you for His glory. You need to have this deep burning desire to please God in the little things, and also in the big things, even if you're paid or not paid for it.
You know, sometimes we work with volunteers and there are great people. And then there are other people - Christians - who say I won't do anything unless I'm paid. You know, we have over 12 hour work days and when we're done with work we work extra hours not wanting any pay because we do it for Christ, me and my team.
We just want bread on the table. That's all we want. Apart from that we use all the money that we get for His kingdom, for His glory.
And I want to encourage you to get your mind - push out all the things that are not right - that are not God's will - where you're too focused on this world and the things of this world. You push it out and you focus on Jesus Christ, because at the end that is all that matters. Because this world and the things of this world - it's passing away.
Focus on the church, on God's kingdom, and doing what he wants you to do. Hebrews 10:24 says: And let us consider how to stir up one another to love. And good works, not neglecting to meet together as is the habit of some.
Now let me just pause here because there are a lot of people who say that they are Christians and who say I don't need to go to the church. That is not what Scripture says. Scripture says that you should go because the church is brothers and sisters in Christ.
We are a body of Christ. We cannot function properly as the body if every part is not there - the foot cannot do what the hand can do - the eye cannot do what the nose or the ear can do - we need you in the church. The church will never be perfect.
We all know that. We all understand that. Some people might even be a little bit hurt in church because of people's sinful natures.
But do not forget to look to Christ - go to the church and do what God wants you to do. I'll read it again. Not neglecting to meet together as is the habit of some but encouraging one another and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
Now, I just want to thank all of you who support DLM because I see this as an online church. There are a lot of people who cannot go physically to a church because they might be in a wheelchair. They might live in a country where they don't have a church near them or where they will be persecuted.
So thank you for joining the premieres, the live chats and the community. Because the church is brothers and sisters in Christ. I also want to thank those of you who partner with us who help me and my team financially, to keep on doing what we're doing every single day of our lives.
