[Music] one quiet Sunday in Victorian London sometime in the 1800s two men are on a casual stroll through the streets Mr utterson a lawyer often takes these walks with his friend and relative Mr Enfield but today as they pass a particular doorway Mr Enfield recalls a violent incident he witnessed in the early hours of the morning a hideously unpleasant man who he describes as displeasing and downright detestable tramples over a little girl knocking her down and leaving her there screaming shocked by this Behavior Mr Enfield and a crowd of passers by surround the man and

force him to pay a hefty sum to the girl's family after ducking into the doorway that Mr Enfield pointed out earlier he comes out with a check signed by a well-known and respected man do Henry Jackal although they suspect he might have forged his signature on the check the unpleasant man named Edward Hyde Waits with the crowd until the banks open and they are assured the check is valid this name rings a bell to erson as it turns out that he is both a friend of Dr Jackal and his lawyer when he arrives home he

takes a look at jackal's will and sure enough it states that in the event of his death or disappearance for over 3 months all his possessions would go to none other than Mr Edward Hyde these instructions are very worrying for utter so he pays a visit to a mutual friend of Jackal Dr ion to ask his advice however because they fell out over a scientific matter many years ago he isn't much help as he had barely seen Jeckle over the last 10 years and had never heard of the name Hyde utterson decides to take matters

into his own hands and stands guard by jeck's door to see this mysterious stranger for himself upon confronting Mr Hyde however the man quickly Retreats into the back of the house erson then questions jackal's Butler P who confirms his fear appears that Hyde has complete access to the entire house and his servants not long after utterson is invited to a dinner party hosted by Dr Jackal so he takes the opportunity to stay behind and investigate his strange relationship with Mr Hyde however Jackal is clearly uncomfortable discussing him and asks Mr erson to drop it which

he does for the sake of their friendship after the dinner party almost a year passes without any news until one night in October when a maid Witnesses the gruesome murder of Sir Danver Karu A well-respected Member of Parliament although he escapes the murderer is identified as a Despicable Mr Hyde horrified utterson calls on Jackal to ask him if he knows where the fugitive is hiding but jaal denies it reassuring utterson that he is out of his life for good now that Hyde has vanished from society Jackal returns to his old self hosting parties socializing ING

with friends and seemingly lighter and happier in general but this is shortlived without warning he goes into complete seclusion and when utter is unable to contact him he decides to pay a visit to Dr lanan to see if he knows anything about it to his shock Dr lanan has visibly changed in a matter of days looking much older and like he's on his deathbed the doctor tells utterson that he will almost certainly die in a matter of weeks and hands him a letter that is not to be opened until Jackal has either died or disappeared

although he's incredibly curious utterson honors his friend's request who passes away just 3 weeks later shortly after utterson receives a frantic visit from pool jackal's Butler who insists that something terrible has happened to his employer for a whole week he had locked himself in his laboratory ordering po to search all over London to locate a certain chemical which he keeps rejecting because it is not not pure enough however his voice and mannerism sound so different that P is certain that Jackal has been murdered and the man who murdered him is still in the laboratory on

this basis utter decides to break down the door but to their dismay all they find is the writhing body of Edward Hyde who had just drunk a vial of poison jackal's body is nowhere to be found but they do uncover a letter addressed to utter in his handwriting at last it is time to find out the secrets that lanan and Jackal have been hiding and first up is Lan's letter sometime after the murder of Sir Danvers he received a letter from jaal begging him to go to his laboratory get a certain drawer of chemicals and

bring them to Lan's house where someone would come to collect them that someone is Edward Hyde who asks lanon for a glass to mix the chemicals and drink them to his utter shock and horror the Hideous hide transforms into his longtime friend jaal a sight which disturbs him so greatly that he dies shortly after finally it is jaal's turn to tell his side of the story and he begins by saying that he had what seemed to be a perfect life he was born to a wealthy family with a good reputation and the means to have

anything he could ever want but because he was always on his best behavior in public he found himself St starting to secretly do bad things of which he was ashamed curious about this dual nature inside of him Jackal began experimenting to separate the two parts of his personality into the good and bad eventually creating the visibly smaller and uglier Mr Hyde this was the perfect solution for Jackal who could now transform himself into Mr Hyde by drinking a potion and do all the terrible things he wanted without having to keep it a secret everything was

going to plan until his alternate Persona killed sir Danvers and he was forced to stop his transitions or else be recognized as a wanted murderer however although Jackal was ready to cast off Mr Hyde once and for all it was too late he could no longer repress the evil version of himself whenever it suited him one day while sitting in the park he was shocked to discover he had transformed into Mr Hyde without drinking the potion trapped in the body of a fugitive he had no choice but to hide in a hotel and write to

Dr lanan for help which is how he came to witness jackal's secret Hyde Now controls more and more of jackal's life as the original potion he concocted is no longer strong enough to bring him back desperate he orders pool to search high and low through London for the chemicals but they simply do not work and eventually he realizes that the original batch must have been made with impure ingredients that can never be Rec replicated Jackal manages to write this letter with the last of the old potion and as utterson and P break down his door

he drinks a vial of poison choosing to end his life rather than face The Gallows as a detestable Mr [Music] Hyde
