Jack Parsons to me is the greatest unknown I don't know what to call him philosopher scientist yeah whatever he was he was the great he was one of the greatest men of the 20th century who's not known that most people are heard of Buckminster Fuller and Albert Einstein and Aleister Crowley to some extent James Joyce Jack Parsons is racially unknown and yet he was more than anybody else responsible for the American space program and the fact that a man has were deal Armstrong walked on the moon he's responsible for all space program and he was
one of the greatest libertarian philosophers who ever lived his book freedom is a two-edged sword seems to me one of the greatest statements of libertarian philosophy ever written and if I had a million dollars I would print enough copies of that to put one in every home in the United States that everybody would have a chance to read it I'm a very libertarian myself but I disagree with most libertarians about a lot of issues Jack Parsons is the one libertarian I agree with about almost everything in the twentieth century there were some 19th century libertarians
I agree with about almost everything such as Lysander Spooner as where Haywood Benjamin Tucker but they're almost all forgotten like Jack Parsons libertarianism does not have much popularity oh this country was founded on libertarian principles Jack Parsons was not only a great libertarian philosopher and a great scientist but he was a very gifted and talented and philosophical and intelligent dark cultist which is hard for a lot of people to understand most people think you're either a science they're on our Calista can't be both Jack Parsons is the classic example of that you can be both
there are many other cases in history like Isaac Newton Giordano Bruno Johannes Kepler that Parsons was the only one in recent times who was undoubtedly a major scientist at least a major engineer which meant that he had to have a lot of basic scientific knowledge to be such a great engineer and major practicing occultist and so the fact that he was a scientist an artist and a libertarian makes him both tremendous ly fascinating an important figure and the reason he's not generally known is because most people can't understand how you can put science libertarianism and
I felt ISM together in one head and that's why Jack four sons are so important he did it and and he was probably rated by the United States government just because of that either that or he died in an accident depending on whose story you believe the separation between science and our cultism is a fairly modern thing and the renaissance science and occultism were very closely related as I mentioned Kepler and Newton and practically everybody else it was important in the creation of the Scientific Revolution was also a practicing not cultist the outstanding example here
Dino Bruno who was burned by the Catholic Church burned at the stake on February 16 1600 in Rome Bruno was charged with 18 counts of heresy and including practicing magic and teaching the Copernican theory of astronomy and family secret societies to oppose the Vatican Francis Yeats a leading historian about roudabeh who our major topic was the birth of the modern scientific worldview in the Renaissance she thinks Bruno may have found that either Freemasonry or Rosicrucian is Ammar maybe both of them and in that tradition Adam face helped to found with the Illuminati is another person
in that tradition and Aleister Crowley is another he was Carson's major teacher the the general view is that science is based on experiment and our cult ism is based on Lu Zhi thinking and blind faith but the kind of hot cultism that the Western world has produced through from the Renaissance to the present has been based on the same principles of science it's based on very simple things you do this and you observe the result it's just like sign it's just the same thing as scientific experiment you sit in a certain posture and try to
empty your mind and see what happens you change your posture and use a mantra instead of trying to empty your mind you just keep repeating over and over um namu Shiva uh-oh Moo Shiva whatever the hell you want Hari Krishna Krishna Krishna or whatever you want my favorite is Samadhi sure Wadi sure Manisha Wadi somebody somebody somebody sure what he is like a windshield wiper but it really empties the mind pretty quickly sure money shawty shawty shawty shawty shawty shawty shawty my magic in the Western not called senses a whole bunch of tricks and devices
clever means as they say in Hinduism clever means to mutate your consciousness by blocking the usual path your consciousness goes and ordinary consciousness as a conditioned response to early childhood experiences and early conditioning and early learning and so on which is why the children of most Catholics remain Catholics the children of most communists remain communists the children of most Muslim fundamentalist remain Muslim fundamentalist etc etc etc if you want to break out of the robotic conditioning imposed on you and childhood you need some kind of dramatic technique and Western occultism is one of the more
dramatic techniques of busting out of conditioned consciousness to become aware of the many levels of reality that you can perceive if you're not trapped in one particular reality tunnel Parsons understood Crowley very well another American scientist who suffered as much misrepresentation or just plain being ignored by the mass media Timothy Leary also understood the importance of Crowley Leary's work is very much in the same tradition as Crowley in fossils you do certain things and you observe the results and you see what conclusions you can obtain from that Crowley Parsons and Leary both used consciousness altering
drugs to a great extent that is considered the major crime in modern America reasons that go back to the witchcraft persecutions the Joan of Arc was brained at the stake for using drugs to contact superior intelligences which she called angels the Catholic Church called them demons whatever the hell they well he told how to unite France and drive the English out she used marijuana it's very interesting that people are in jail all over this country for the same crime that Joan of Arc was burned at the stake floors in it Jack Parsons was probably killed
by the American government for using the same techniques of altering consciousness I think Crowley's techniques Crowley's magazine the equinox had the mast had the magazine of scientific Illuminism and the importance of the scientific method in the crowley system is not generally understood most people just know that crowley detested organized religion they know we hated Christianity they don't know he hated every other organized religion - and was very careful not to found one of his own there are no CRO liens or anybody who thinks they're a Coralie and doesn't understand currently there is no probably in
religion as far as there's a Kirlian movement is called they call themselves thala mites rather than Crowell liens because they don't want to build Crowley up into an idol which he was the last thing he wanted but he wanted was for people to use his methods to discover the truth of their own inner nature which is different for every person that's the meaning of Crowley's mantra every man and every woman is a star you gotta find this star within yourself and Parsons found the star within himself and that allowed him to be tremendously creative when
nobody else except good dog good dog got hurt I mean I was there getting Goddard because she was with the French movie director mrs. Goddard was an American it would be pronounced Godard wouldn't it Goddard was the only one besides Jack Parsons who realized the potentials of space travel and the fact that we could do it in this century Parsons was a lot more creative than Godard and his work well the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena is not only founded by Parsons but some people claim the initials were deliberately picked to have his initials in
them Jack Parsons JPL and the Aerojet Corporation which he created makes the solid fuels used in all of our Moon watchings our shuttles the space program really depends on Jack Parsons that's why he has a crater on the moon named after him I couldn't have made those breakthroughs without getting out of hell when I was young I remember adults telling me when I was a teenager what are you reading that science fiction crap planet yeah that stuff was all impossible but I was going to a Technical High School and I knew that it was all
possible I didn't know how soon I knew it would be possible someday so I was fascinated by it Jack Parsons had the revisions to say hey it's possible right now we just got to put our money and our energy into it and we can do it and by the time he died there were Rockets all over the damn place and we were he died in 52 and in 16:9 the first man walked on the moon if Parsons had lived longer he would have made even more contributions to space science I don't know what Turing Parsons
onto Coley originally I have a few guesses that could have been Libra which Carly wrote because somebody complained that his books were too hard to understand so he wrote a one-page summary of all of his ideas in which almost every word is one syllable there were couplets whoso syllable words in it but most of it is one word one syllable words it begins to what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law which is all what syllables and it goes on man has the right to livers he will to love as he will to
create art as he will to create science as he will to dress as he will and that goes on like that mostly as I said once the Louisville worries I might have been what Turing Parsons on well maybe it was book floor which is the most rational scientific account of mysticism ever written Roley begins by saying we live in a world in which there's a lot of suffering the first thing we notice is the amount of suffering that we endure and the amount of suffering going on around us so the major question of philosophy is
how can we escape suffering and then he describes yoga step by step as a series of techniques for abolishing suffering by detaching yourself from mechanical conditioned reactions within the nervous system and then he goes on to explain magic as a series of techniques to make yoga work faster that could have appeals very much to somebody with a background like Parsons and then again maybe it was just one of Crowley's maybe was Crowley's one of Crowley's novels like diary of a dope fiend which might have appeal to somebody with a chemical background I got interested in
psychedelics because of a conservative philosopher named Russell cake who when one of his books mentioned all this Huxley's experiments with mescaline and said this prove the existence of heaven and hell I wasn't sure it proved the existence of heaven and hell but what I am it was that it showed that consciousness depends on the chemistry of the brain and that's what got me interested in psychedelic research because the idea that consciousness depends on the chemistry of the brain is a natural thought to me I had a kind of saying I had basically a scientific education
to start with and the selectively appealed during much Parsons with his background but however again interested in Crowley Crowley was like a key that opened a lock a lot of Lux the Jack Parsons the idea that the Crowley system is black magic derives from a lot of fundamental misunderstandings the only possible intelligent definition of black magic is using psychic power to harm people putting curses on people trying to make them sick trying to kill them sticking pins in Hulu dolls that kind of thing that has nothing to do with Crowley's system Crowley's system is considered
black magic by fundamentalists and people of that ilk because it's entirely devoid of Christian emphasis it's ecumenical and includes Taoism Hinduism Buddhism and it includes Christianity - although Crowley try to hide that as he got older because he got more and more hostile to Christianity but if you do some of Crowley's rituals you'll get a deeper understanding of what the mystical level of Christianity I got my deepest insight into Krishna the symbolism of the crucifixion doing a crawly ritual it includes the world all the religions of the world but it's not limited to any one
of them and the fundamentalists that is the great satanic blasphemy not putting christianity above all other religions the the New Age so the reason they're so hostile to the New Age is that doesn't say Christianity is the one true path for the Nueces learned from all the religions that's what Cole he was saying so except he didn't like religions he was saying range from all the practices don't accept any other dog was betray the practices and see where they get you try meditating try praying try yoga try drugs try everything that's the try everything with
shaman's and wizards and Yogi's have been doing from the dawn of history and see where it gets you and you scientific skepticism about the results olena believed any of the supernatural entities he contacted he he realized that they were all projections of parts of himself and so he learned from them what you can't but don't believe everything they tell you some of them are liars that's a very central part of all these teachings and Parsons understood that too Parsons got involved in this idea of the moon child's from one of Crowley's novels and the idea
is to create a an infant who will be born all through the nine months of pregnancy there will be all these magical and magical and quotes and other influences to separate the child's from normal earthly influences and make them more compatible with life in outer space because Parsons saw the future of humanity is being in outer space and he wanted to create a child's would be equipped to live in outer space well since then we found out that going into outer space created a mutation in consciousness anyway 85% of the American astronauts and the Soviet
cosmonauts have all had mystical mystical experiences people are going to zero gravity experience the same kind of change in consciousness that you get on marijuana or hashish this is only one of the many higher levels of consciousness it's not it's nothing like LSD other psychedelics but it's a definite mutation in consciousness and Parsons was trying to create a child who would be born with that kind of consciousness and will never be dragged down by the I can't help calling Timothy Leary again gravity's the enemy levity is the salvation levitate could go higher don't suck it
full down don't get dragged down don't be too grave don't be too serious and Parsons understood that we're it's time for us to get used to outer space and it's happening whether Parsons was responsible and not I some people think yeah his Mojave Venus working was not completed properly and that's why we're having all these weird UFO phenomena whether that's true or not we are getting ready found a space by the just by the simple fact that so many millions of people believe they've had outer space contact so already they're turning into more children and
looking for some sense and of course those who have very rigid belief systems find it too absolutely terrifying and all they can remember is that they were raped by little green monsters from outer space well it's not quite what happened item in my opinion but it's the only sense they can make out of this kind of experience of encountering extraterrestrial intelligence as Jody fluster the scriptwriter or whoever says in contact it's if we're the only intelligent beings in a universe this size that's an awful waste of space Parsons major are called educational background came through
the Ordo Templi Orientis which was founded revived or whatever they were and these subjects are always alternative versions of what happened but sometime in the 1890s a couple of German Freemasons named Karl Kellner and Theodore Royce decided to create a Masonic Academy which would be a kind of central office in which all the different Masonic traditions could be rationalized they synthesized and the differences between various orders of Freemasonry could be abolished or what they created didn't satisfy any of the different schools the Freemasonry and did not become a Masonic Academy so they changed his name
to the Ordo Templi Orientis and it was their idea of what was the most sound and important and the revolutionary aspects of Freemasonry and they got a lot of disciples all over Europe and some in England one of them was when Westcott who was a member of their medical order of the Golden Dawn a Rosicrucian Society in England which Crowley got his early education in our cult ISM and [Music] twelve approximately Theodore Royce came to Crowley and told him you've written a book in which you reveal the secret of the ninth degree of the Otto
Templi Orientis why have you done that well he said I don't know any I I didn't reveal any secret over the ninth degree because I don't know what what that is and we said well you've published it very clearly and he showed him the chapter and a book of Crowley's with the humorous title the book of lies falsely so-called which is a wonderful title because of the book that I was up the title tells you it's a book of lies the subtitle tells you it's not a book of lies and you got to figure out
which whether to believe the title of the subtitle and when Crowley looked at the chapter where I showed him he realized suddenly he had been a 33rd degree freemason at that point already he suddenly realized that the Ordo Templi Orientis really did have what was the most central and important part of Freemasonry so he accepted the ninth degree I'm gonna race died he appointed Crowley to the tenth degree which is the outer head of the Ordo Templi Orientis and the Ordo Templi Orientis ever since then has have been pretty much under Crowley's influence one way
to some degree or another and anybody who wants to find out the central secret of what Freemasonry Illuminism Rosicrucian ISM and all the odd called traditions of the West alchemy what they were all about Crowley tells you quite quite quite clearly it's in one of the chapters of the book of lies all you got to do is decide which chapter it is a decipher it I think that Parsons work in the Crowley system which as I mentioned early call scientific Illuminism it's very important to note the adjective as well as now scientific Illuminism that's a
Crawley majored in organic chemistry at Cambridge and Parsons was basically a chemist before he wasn't even an engineer the the crawling and system was particularly valuable to creative people whether in Sciences or the arts Parsons wasn't the only student of Crowley that made major contributions JW and Sullivan was a major mathematician who wrote absolutely the most brilliant book on Beethoven that anybody has ever written he was able to make the jump for mathematics to music and they write a really brilliant book about music there's another mathematician who was there was Norman Mudd of Cambridge and
I think to a great extent the whole psychedelic revolution was heavily influenced by Crowley and which is why the government is trying so hard to destroy your any record of it there's having anybody alive in the 1990s who has read the literature so LSD research Runner was legal when LSD research was legal there was one report after another of absolutely astonishing results Timothy Leary there archdemon of all of them he retraced the receiver is imrat of criminals and the Massachusetts prison system the average is that 90% of all released convicts are back in jail within
one year in Leary's therapy group using psychedelic drugs and mystical readings 90% of them was still out on the streets after one years being back in president tighly we've raced the usual pattern the they were they were curing schizophrenics with iOS D people finally could learn languages much quicker with LSD than they could with any other technique they cure alcoholics it's astonishing how many successful scientific reports they were on LSD before the government made it illegal only he has always appealed to me because he stands out among all the great mystics of the world being
the most egregious case there are some pretty weird mystics and all traditions and some that looked like they were quite I'm crazy but there's nobody quite compares to Crowley Mary dust a Sturges who was Crowley's mistress around 1911 and wrote the introduction to his book for she said other religious leaders say believe my releases thoughtfully Utley now that's what I find most attractive about him mrs. constant skepticism and don't quote don't believe me try the exercises and find out for yourself he studied most of the schools of the consciousness alteration that existed in his time
he studied yoga with the Hindus and the Buddhists various different types of yoga hatha yoga hatha yoga Raja yoga Tantra yoga I learned a lot about Taoism in China and I became a teaching expert long before there were any others in the Western world to do anything about Egypt that is all translation of the daodejing studied a little Sufism in North Africa evidently was the leading authority of his time at Western the Western are called tradition and he picked up bits and snatches of all sorts of other things of his travels around the world including
a great deal about the shamanic traditions that use drugs to alter consciousness he even more about that than anybody before the 1960s so Olin oil reading Coley's books you he gives you most of his books he gives you a lot of exercises along with the theory and if she's not doing the exercises that Crowley gives you you find the consciousness does alter and then you find the universe alters which of course is inevitable because the only universe you know is the universe in your consciousness so it's just kind of confusing to some people but this
combination of do the work and don't believe anybody's dogmas joy your own conclusions after you've done the work I like that approach Carly put it into a poem once which I find them we place no reliance on verge into a pigeon Methodist science our aim is religion I think that's a terrific approach especially when you look around at so many things that are called New Age that are so gullible and mighty evil there well you feel you could easily sell them the Brooklyn Bridge if you were fine they they they would they call get this
aiming to the bank and hand it to you right away compared to the gullibility of superstition and most of the weights like this probably is really refreshing like cold water in the face really wakes you up there's a lot of interesting stories about Crawley and I don't think there is yet a really good biography probably they're all they're all biased most of them are biased against him via his man enemies got it to print before his friends like there are several books that portray both like yes they were raving monster and demented maniac say this
not that his friends are in my area started reading biographies that are equally prejudiced to try to portray him was the Magus of the new a on the order of the word of the law which will transform the whole planets entire consciousness sometime at a very dear future we're supposed to event that according to the Orthodox Rollins as we are supposed to invited the Aeon of Horus in 1904 and she asked what is the evidence well the world certainly has gotten a lot weirder well wouldn't the a on the poorest fully manifest itself is an
open question I'm gonna take five hundred years or is it going to happen in 2012 like everybody else's prophecies well I don't know but meanwhile we've got all this literature about probably something that absolutely incredible I one of the most widely published stories of I Pro League is the time he and this month McGregor I went into a hotel room in Paris I'm to pentagram and I quote the devil and in the morning but Gregor was found dead of a heart attack and Koli was off his head and how to spend six months in her
mental hospital never quite regained his intellectual faculties the story is appeared in quite a few books compressing anything about it is the first appeared in a work of fiction novel by Dennis Wheatley Dennis Wheatley was the head of the double for us Bureau and English intelligence Rowley was a part-time employee of mi5 each one of them seemed to open highly suspicious of the other weekly had a tendency to believe any conspiracy he wasn't supervising personally was the work of the devil well the double-cross Bureau had some real weirdos in it anyway I was besides a
weekly and flattening worked up a double for us Breuer you see what average fantasy life he had when you read the James Bond novels and Alan Turing who invented the Turing machine also worked there anyway weeklies invention in the novel called for the devil a bride about Crowley in his son invoking the devil there are lots of weaknesses in this story Bryson's Chloe never spent any time in a mental hospital in France and for another thing his son big Regan never showed any interest in magic burn all these are called studies and forth a thing
McGregor probably did the didn't die of a heart attack you knows how room in Paris and the most clinching argument of all is that wasn't that ever was a son named McGregor Rowley the whole thing was paper work it's not one fact than that now that's typical a lot of the legends about crawling once you start examining can you find out who gave either by collie out of his wicked sense of humor obey his enemies out of their total lack of you over and it's very hard to find out what to believe I didn't it
took me a long time to decide whether or not to believe he worked for English intelligence but the Yemenis just accumulated enough but I believe that although it sounds like something he might have invented he didn't got some pretty tall tales about himself wholly evidently worked in the propaganda division things he proposed the sign that's identified with Winston Churchill the V for victory site which is why mocking the powers of the Egyptian dunkey headed deity that Crowley regarded as good mischievous spirit the site against your enemies Crowley did various other things for English intelligence all
the details far from clear Crowley's psychic and the propaganda war with MacGregor Malthus was real as the typical of the Campinas of the occult world the pregnant mothers there were a rose to the position of our head of the Golden Dawn which was the primary magical order anyone that that the eights and several others decided matters that become a tyrant and perhaps a megalomaniac they are seated haven't formed a rival Golden Dawn claiming he was unfit to lead Crawley sighted with masters and a Yates developed the opinion our colleagues that demons upon and rebellion against
Matthews and oleate Matthews had a quarrel they each to choose the other of setting demons but they finally got to court because holy a newsmagazine I cannot start publishing all the secret rituals of the golden boy he announced that the secret chief and authorize him to do this this is the kind of thing that cannot be judged by the court or because the secret Chiefs did not take before in space-time where they can testify before the secret chiefs exist they are only where the square root of minus one exists where the White Rabbit in Alice
in Wonderland you you got to be in a special state to contact the secret Chiefs of no Corps despite equipped to do it so if one guy says the secret chief told me this to somebody else at the CP chief told me the opposite there was no evidential way of judging between that may just decide which one do you think is crazier than the other so anyway probably my secret Chiefs who authorized him to publish these rituals might who's tried to stop it the trial came through all sorts of irrelevant issues such as weather my
first tiger had not allegedly with the reincarnation of King Charles the first which matters didn't want to answer off the witless tantra fear or prejudice think the trickery but was compelled to it by the Aventine to be the reincarnation first there wasn't Charles two segments like and there were various innuendos about Crowley sex life which probably enjoyed very much although most of the other people he's not enjoying it very quality really had a weak spot for even my not much trouble again in who were much pain because we had a chance to do something that
was shot the British public though I hadn't [Applause] fluently about his life that but he stayed out of jail he lived to be 70 - and never spent a day in jail it's amazing for a person with his temperament everybody I know who we mostly reminds me of Koli is my kind of jail we can't have that attitude of one thing society's rules I think she was gonna end up in jail eventually I probably was sort of a cross between Sinead O'Connor and Madonna and in a male form well as a matter of fact that's
the father than interesting for the legends totally predicted he would he would reincarnate to carry on the work of officiating who I mean anything back there would be as a woman you'd be surprised how many and I met her claim they are probably reincarnated I it's a long long list where the one I find most plausible never made the claim that's for diamond he has a ranch like she doesn't leave Atlanta she probably didn't it's already the most fascinating to me the odd called the side of Crawley with there's many slice the Crawley you can
take you can look equality entirely is only woodstick philosopher in the tradition of Wittgenstein and went even traders at victress time is a book called portable darkness an anthology of Crowley's writings which the Edit that pretty much interprets Kolya is a linguistic philosophy chiefly and makes everything else secondary but if you don't want to look into this many ways of looking at Crowley I like to look at him as a scientist and consciousness alteration field apply in the era floor runner of gently ready and Stan Grof and John Lilly and all the great consciousness researchers
of the last thirty years Paul Lee was 50 is ahead of everybody else but on the outside the most fascinating thing is the book of the law which Holly was first of all most notorious practical jokers of this time he was responsible for numerous hoaxes it's very difficult to tell when he's kidding and what he's serious as books are all written that's part of his way of keeping you on the TV making it arousing curiosity so you will try the experiments also keeping you from just accepting things as Doug he's constantly playing games in this
pile there's this serious there's this another of his jokes and he did the club's of outstanding hoaxes one of the most famous was the Hail Mary hoax which was a book of hymns to the Blessed Virgin allegedly written by a nun detained out to be written by Aleister Crowley and he explained after the hoax was revealed that he wrote the poems to esis but he flood since the Virgin Mary is just the modern version of ISA it could be just as easily presented that way and would have a bigger audience and he was lots of
fascinating hoaxes that he was involved that and then there's the book of the law which is allegedly a communication from higher intelligence about which Carly was very cryptic he said he got it from his holy guardian angel he told one disciple the holy guardian angel is not of any sense your higher self like just be like in theosophy and a lot of my fault movements it's a separate being of much higher intelligence than Uman he told another disciple the holy guardian angel was just a matter for I fear on unconscious so he directly contradicted himself
to finding out who he was talking to the and he was a well-known hoax that nonetheless everything he ever wrote about the book of the Lord he insisted he was serious this time he was not focusing of course the best hoaxes all begin that way I'm not performing the hoax this time I'm being serious he insisted the book of law is a revelation from higher intelligence it's not a hoax and that he has suffered throughout his whole life from the duty to speak the truth as we filled in this book about how much trouble it
made for him I'm at and I suppose the first of the major : and call the police a system just hopefully might who didn't want named after himself he was terrified that he'd be back in two thousand years of time all the amity had become those reactionary as Christianity without it being fall for me name would not be disgraced whatever his disciples didn't and in the end the Saline mixes them there are coeds just dozens and Buddha's there are points son you're studying son the Roshi gives you a co-ed - we're gonna like what is
the sound of one hand clapping but who is the master who makes the grass dream that Coley has call hands built into his system and I presented as coeds they just run into them and you suddenly stop them I gonna do about this why am I gonna believe him I think it's a joke is there a hidden meaning and the big co-ed is do you believe in the book of the law or is it just the one joke that he kept a straight face about for most of his life and it's fascinating how different people
react to that I find it I find it's fascinating because the book of the Lord does say it's it's just spooky enough to keep you guessing where it came from Israel Regardie who studied with crawling in the 20s and later became a righty and psychotherapist in Los Angeles regard ease suggest that Crowley have 9 personalities at various levels of the psyche and the deepest level was he gives names to these terms of all these magical titles and the deepest level was a wasp which not on the the deepest level of Crowley's unconscious if I understand
this it's the deepest level of the human psyche it is the collective mind of humanity and that was speaking through the book of the law according to regard ease interpretation and the book of lies is one of my favorites of holies books I know it's not to say which is weirder funny and at work mysterious the book of the law of the book of lies I guess the book of the law as perpetual shock in it we go back to Italy good shot again shook up a little bit what the book of lies is a
lot funnier but it requires careful study it's got so many different kinds of jokes on it every chapter the number the chapter is important there are capitalistic jokes about the number of a chapter in every chapter there are jokes within jokes and anagrams every conceivable way of saying 10 things at the same time and keeping you confused about which ones are serious and which ones have jokes is there a difference many times you find the passage where the surface meaning is conventionally religious nervous times conventionally must think it could be loud so we got some
Sufi it could be any great mystic and then just lovely this bugger there's a dirty joke hidden under that I think boy I want to stop mine he had a real weird weird sense of you know undefined the gravy joke has behind that an allegory which takes you back to the mystical level again and then you find out you can interpret it in terms of for me anyway you mean psychology and that poorly obviously understood that wanted you to see that then you wonder how many more levels you could find and it gets funny here
on it sounds very it is very intellectual it's very funny though it's it's very thought you were you like Lewis Carroll's mathematical logic and which he proves some dowager's are pistols yes he has a part of me logical proof of fact the book of lies kind of universe even water commentary on it which is even funnier commentary at one place talks about some of the logical errors explained this way they with secular book beyond the understanding that the comic reader on Joshua Meyer waving plus the common person in oshkosh is not going to understand whether
than 3:1 this book I think it's it's better I place it pretty much in the same general area is Finnegan's Wake it's not as great as artistic achievement is Finnegan's Wake but it's equally funny and equally and exhaustible and the more you dive into what the boy you find you can go high for years and years just like with running it's like finding more lovely evenings and more and more jokes get a hold of magic which is three plots of book floor and don't ask me why the publisher left out the fourth part the doings
of publishers are even more mysterious than the doings of magicians I think the publisher is Samuel wiser I'm not sure of fact the only way magic has the book floor ahead what is House floor parts magic magic and yogurt know it you'll get yogurt magic magic and philosophical commentary the book of the law I have the book called major consists of the phase three and it's full of exercises so the more confused you get by Carly there the one motive you have for trying me exercises I make you try the exercise that it's absolutely guaranteed
but you'll get more confused but you also begin to see light where you never saw it before the world becomes us probably such a continuous ceremony of initiation this is the one area where the rationalist approach to history absolutely breaks down you try to find out the truth about any of these magical societies that Colie was involved with especially the Golden Dawn the Auto Templi Orientis the Illuminati paramedic Brotherhood of life and that's why here maybe the others of less importance the trail disappears into fog we are the same point everything becomes unstable mysterious it's
like the intrusion for this world of another world because I was leaving but seems to be the enemy of the kind of occultism my Poli was involved and poorly translated want to bleed these books and all we spoke I leav leave he praised them to disguise Elif asleep he wasn't Jewish by the way that was a pen name he was actually a woman Catholic mystic but his probably despised the Catholic Church even wasn't Sinead O'Connor does holy when quali refers to the black brothers the delusive evil or service Paulo Lemann put us in slavery he
means the Roman Catholic Church it takes a while to be safe for that one but Paulie was one of the leading anti-catholic revolutionaries of the last couple of centuries and yet here he is of the same party with this Roman Catholic mystic who wrote under a Jewish name but that's the way we're having magical world is full of these mysteries and paradoxes and false fronts and John D must mean Elizabeth's astrologer and the great mathematician and he got some fragments in the language which several linguists claim is a real language not just Dibble gavel I've
made up for because it's a real language but it's not a human language and the D was D bright enough to invent the language for maybe he was but it turns out the century before I have another magician maybe go della Mirandola and Italy got a few other fragments in that language and of course the Golden Dawn Carly learned to use that language which is supposed to allow you to converse with angel and I can spirits gravy McMurtry who was the caliph of the auto company orient this until his death a few years ago he
told me he asked holy once when it was safe to summon the anak he in spirits or we said you don't have to summon them when you're ready they come to you you know Templi Orientis and the golden dawn are officially very opposed to each other and yet ie without mentioning names I don't give away too much I know somebody who's the leader of one branch of the golden one and a member of the auto dump we orient us there are at least three branches of the Golden Dawn in California each of them denouncing the
others is focus than theirs the newly formed Orthodox order of the Golden Dawn which doesn't claim to be genuine at all and then there's the fake Sufi school by the way you know how many orders of Sufis there are running around California or claiming where the true Sufis the others are all fakes well there's a group called the fight Sufi school up in Nevada City for the fake Sufis but the 666 thing yeah very early poem he has these lines by all sorts of monkey trucks they make my name being 666 well I will deserve
it if I can that is the number of a man so apparently somebody else did it but he did it himself several times and the complete couple of Aleister Crowley he has four or five different ways in which you can get his name dead up to 666 Aleister Crowley one way and Alexander Crowley which was his great name another way at the end of six six there's several different ways including creating a magical name for himself Oh Omega Ariane which adds up to 666 and weight he's a great beast the 666 appears as a number
of evil and the Book of Revelations st. John who apparently ate too many funny mushrooms Patmos had a lot of weird visions it sounds like you got into the one well anyway be that as it may Steinberg Katsopolis Pence's in court classic uterus though you're not using number 666 is this not a number of evil Oasis well it just means the Sun if you want to even call me Sonny Boy anyway 666 those symbolize the Sun man John Michell is both of you over like this once out of here isn't a lot of Christian architecture
there was a gnostic underground tradition and you mean times holy death decides with what you'll calls the solar phallic archetype which i think is clear enough it doesn't require yes I only had it was open a few pages are all you get the solar and phallic energy coming at you I delight you don't even have to read young to find out what solar phallic means masonry Rosicrucian ism alchemy Kabbalah all related in a variety of ways but disentangling them and explaining the historical connections and how it all happened that is almost impossible because no two
authorities at Grady there was I like I said everything disappears into fog eventually I decided one of the one point I decided i masonry in the 18th century which mean you know it existed that there's a lot of debate how much very the back you can chase it i would like to accept some of the evidence of trace it back to the southern things and it gets more work debatable but anyway is there in the 18th century and I figured out for 32 degrees and the baby corresponds to the Tree of Life well enough but
there must have been fabulous creation and probably there were there are lots of other than they sigh cabbalistic elements in masonry but the 32 degrees were an invented until Albert Pike in the 19th century who was a capitalist and he put a lot for Camelot in masonry so there was some Cibola in masonry from the beginning and water put in by Albert Pike I think which was a combination of mustace ISM Kabbalah and alchemy had an underground existence in Europe for about a thousand years every time the Inquisition discovered any of it they arrested everybody
and bring them at the stake but it still went on as an underground for us and it used various fronts and among these fronts for the Rosicrucian movement later masonry done later still in the 18th century masonry got taking over by I think I've been studying this a long time so I have a right to wonder even though it's only an opinion I can't claim to have the absolute truth and the 18th century it got taken over by a rationalistic group who wanted to use masonry chiefly as a way of faith and the religious wars
that were tearing your apart and to establish the modern kind of democratic state in which there is no established religion you might say the most enduring product the Freemasonry is the First Amendment to the American Constitution which says Congress shall establish no religion or prohibit the free exercise thereof which gives it up to everybody to decide what ug they want and doesn't allow anybody to go out with an army and try to destroy somebody else's religion that is what masonry mainly was involved in throughout the 18th century and they finally succeeded by the early 19th
century that was the generally accepted idea of civilized countries you just don't find the older idea that the true religion should destroy all the false ones it's backward and barbarous places like the Mideast on the other and put in the civilized world masonry is trying out this to say go if you have the time and the patience it doesn't take one hunt around use bookstores and you can find enough books on the secrets of masonry revealed to find out what's going on but if you're going through the initiations it's better not to know it's better
if you well you know where we remember recapture the thrill of seeing Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom or whatever the hell you never recaptured the thrill on the second of a very viewing right it's better to be surprised and it's better to be surprised at magic rituals and to know what's coming
