You get a lot of chances here on earth but when you die, there's no more chances. The time of grace is up. I think we will have a different way of existence, of living, in heaven.
Just knowing things. And there are examples of this in scripture. Oh I can't wait for that day.
I really can't. To see my father again. And my brothers.
To have conversations with them. I can't wait. Hey guys, This is a video request.
And a question we got from you is Daniel, will we recognize our loved ones in heaven and other people? Now, this is a very important question to me as well, because I would like to see my grandparents one day. .
. my dad one day. .
. . in fact I have his ring on today.
And also my brothers who passed away. And then the prophets and the apostles and Jesus Himself. I would like to recognize them and talk to them.
So this is a very important question. But we need to look at God's Word because I can just tell you what I think. Because what I think doesn't really matter at all.
The only absolute truth we have in this world is Scripture. So let's go to 1 John 3 Verse 2. It says: Beloved, we are God's children now.
And what we will be has not yet appeared but we know that when He appears we shall be like Him because we shall see Him as He is. So Scripture says that we will see Him as He is, right? We will recognize Jesus.
But it also says that we will have eternal bodies just like Jesus. So that means that we will also be recognizable. I believe in heaven we will think in a very, very different way than how we think about things here on earth.
In heaven, we'll be smarter, wiser, and we'll be able to understand certain things, just because God allows us to. Remember 1 Corinthians 13 Verse 12 says: For now we see in a mirror dimly but then face to face now I know in part; then I shall know fully even as I have been fully known. Hmmm.
Then I shall fully know it says. You know, it's interesting when you read testimonies of people who experienced NDEs. .
. near-death experiences. A lot of them say that they just recognized people.
They knew who they were without even speaking to them. Other people who they never met, but also their family members who passed away. I think we will have a different way of existence.
Of living in heaven, just knowing things. And there are examples of this in Scripture. For example, Luke 16 Verse 22: The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's side.
The rich man also died and was buried. And in Hades being in torment he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. Now, this is very interesting, because the rich man and Lazarus, they lived at the same time period.
So yeah, he recognized him. Definitely. But also, he recognized someone who's not from his time period.
He recognized Abraham. Seeing him afar off. Then it says: And he called out Father Abraham So Abraham is still Abraham in heaven.
And he recognized Abraham - father Abraham - he says. Have mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue for I am in anguish in this flame. Now you know the rest of the story, how he pleaded with him because he was worried about his brothers that he knew were on the way to hell when he was still on earth.
Being rich, he didn't really care. He pushed the truth away. But now, when he's experiencing the torment of Hades, he cares about his brothers.
There's a lot of people watching this video that might not be saved and who will also one day be in hell if you don't turn away from your evil ways. Yet a lot of chances here on earth, but when you die, there's no more chances. The time of grace is up.
Now let's take a look at another example. Matthew 17 Verse 3: And behold there appeared to them Moses and Elijah talking with Him. Imagine this.
Imagine you could have been a fly, just to see Peter's face. You know, recognizing seeing someone who lived thousands of years ago, and two people, Moses and Elijah. I wonder what will happen if you suddenly see Moses and Elijah today?
Let's continue. And Peter said to Jesus Lord it is good that we are here if you wish I will make three tents here one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah So here, Moses and Elijah, they still are who they are. So we'll be the same name.
You will be John, you will be Peter, and you will be recognizable, just like Moses and Elijah here. Now, another good example. Do you remember what David said when his son died?
2 Samuel 12 Verse 23: But now he is dead why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? Now here it comes, listen closely.
I shall go to him but he will not return to me. So David clearly knew that when his body dies - returns to dust - his soul will go to paradise and he will see - recognize - his son again. Now take a look at what Jesus said in Matthew 8 Verse 1: I tell you many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
This is amazing, not only because they're recognizing and that you will be able to sit and eat with them, but also you see here, a picture of a family tree. The father, the son, the grandson, and they know each other. So you will also be able to know your great great great great great granddad, probably, right?
If you look at the family tree, and why I say probably, is because if they go to heaven, another reason why you need to make sure that you share the gospel in truth and love with your family, your friends, and those who God sent on your path. Jesus also said in Matthew 26 Verse 29: I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drank it new with you in my Father's Kingdom. Wow this is interesting.
Jesus telling them that He will drink with them again. Wine in God's kingdom. So the disciples will still be who they are.
And it shows community. They will drink it together, so they will recognize each other. It's also interesting here that we see that we will also drink wine and other things, probably, in heaven.
We won't need it to survive but just because it is nice to do it. Now, Paul also said in 1 Thessalonians 2 Verse 19: For what is our hope or joy, or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at his coming is it not you? For you are our glory and joy.
So Paul is saying to the Thessalonians that they will be his joy, his glory, at the second coming of Christ, which means he will be able to recognize them. He also says this in 1 Thessalonians 4 Verse 17: Then we who are alive who are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.
Wow, so Paul is basically comforting them and saying that they can comfort each other because we know that we will be caught up - harpazo - the Greek word there - caught up together, in community, with Jesus Christ in the air. So we will be able to recognize one another. We can have comfort in that.
And that is also why it is so important to share the gospel in truth - in love - with your friends and family when the Holy Spirit leads you to do so. You do not want to regret it when you stand at one of their funerals. I have been to a lot of funerals and I've seen a lot of people with regret not knowing if their family member or friend is in heaven because if they do not choose Jesus Christ while they are still here in this world.
They cannot go to where He is because if they don't choose Christ, they choose a life without Christ - eternal darkness. Matthew 25 Verse 41: Then He will say to those on His left, depart from me you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. And Revelation 20 Verse15 says: And if anyone's name was not found written in the Book of Life he was thrown into the Lake of Fire.
Now apart from focusing on your family members and friends, and people God sent on your path, some of you watching this video might think you are Christian but you are not. You're lukewarm or you've grown up in the church and with a family that is Christian, but you have never personally accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. You've not received the Holy Spirit.
The work of regeneration, where He makes you a new creation. And let me tell you, there would be a lot of people who think that they are Christians. .
. in hell. Listen to it in Jesus's own words: Matthew 7 Verse 22: Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven on that day many will say to me Lord, Lord, do we not prophesy in your name?
and cast our demons in your name? and do many mighty works in your name? You see, they thought that they were Christians.
Even Christian leaders. But they were not. Verse 23: And then I will declare to them I never knew you Depart from me you workers of lawlessness.
You see, you might say, I know God. Yeah, well, does He know you? There's a difference between believing that God exists, because the demons believe also He exists.
But they are not going to heaven. And to believe in Him, accepting Him as Lord and Savior, that He died for your sins on the cross and that you cannot save yourself. There's a big difference between that.
And I'm not reading these words of Jesus to you to scare you, but to warn you. Because I do not want you to go to hell. If you're still alive - if you're still breathing - that means you still live in a time of grace.
God is still giving you time. So I want to ask you this question, and answer it truthfully. Are you a true Christian?
Or are you a lukewarm Christian that God will spit out of his mouth? What does your fruit look like? Your actions, this last year - two years - three years - because, you know, God says that you will know them by their fruits.
But you can only produce the right kind of fruit which is spiritual fruit. If you have God's Spirit in you that produces the spiritual fruit. Just before Jesus gave this warning, He said in Verse 17: So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit.
You see, it is impossible to bear good fruit if you don't have God's Spirit in you, because you cannot produce spiritual fruit. You can try to do good things, but it will all be in the flesh and mean absolutely nothing. Your best deeds this way are filthy rags to God, because you are just practicing dead religion.
Verse 18: A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit Which means if you are a true reborn Christian with God's Spirit in you, you will produce the fruit of the Spirit, because you're changed. You're a new creation. And then it says: Nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit.
The natural person cannot produce the fruit of the Spirit. It is impossible. Nor can you understand the spiritual things of God, because it's spiritually discerned.
And then it says in the next verse, Verse 19: Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire That means when your time of grace here on Earth is done - He cut you off and you're going into eternal fire. Hell. Then it says in Verse 20: Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.
Now I want to plead with you - if you are not certain about your eternal security, then make sure today. Scripture says that we can know that we go to Christ, but if you're not sure, you need to make sure. Because it is more important than anything else in this temporary world.
Because everything in this world is passing away. And you are going to die. All of us.
It's just a matter of time. 1 John 2 Verse17 says: And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. Now I want you to test yourself today.
Because that is what Scripture says. Scripture says we have to test whether we are truly in the faith. This is serious.
There's nothing more serious than this. 2 Corinthians 13 Verse 5: Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves.
One of the shortest sentences in the Bible. Only two words. Test yourselves.
Then it says: Or do you not realize this about yourselves. that Jesus Christ is in you? Unless indeed you fail to meet the test.
Your faith will be tested by God through fire. You will experience trials and tribulations in this world. God never promises an easy life.
Even David said when I go through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. It doesn't mean he will not go through it. He is going through it.
But he will fear no evil. He looks to Christ. So your faith will be tested.
And if you endure until the end, that means you have been a real reborn Christian because, you see, it is those who don't endure until the end who have never been true reborn Christians in the first place. They might have accepted Christ just very quickly, you know, impulsively, emotionally they've grown a little bit, but their roots are not deep in Christ. They have not experienced regeneration.
And so when the sun comes and they wither, they die. So your faith will be tested, even for some of you who have lost loved ones like myself. It's one of the most difficult things to endure but understanding the big picture - looking to Christ - you will be able to endure.
And how amazing it will be to see each other in heaven again. Oh I can't wait for that day. I really can't to see my father again and my brothers.
To have conversations with them. I can't wait. If you're not sure that you're saved, please make sure so that you will see your loved ones again and that you won't have to spend eternity in the flames of hell where people will be gnashing on their teeth because of regret.
Please make sure that you're saved. If you're not sure, watch this video here. It will help you.
