7 easy YouTube settings you NEED to turn on NOW

here are seven YouTube settings that you need to turn on right now to make sure you maximize your growth on YouTube now these are very simple settings but they can make a huge difference to amount of subscribers and Views you get per video so make sure you listen to every single one in this list and without further Ado let's just get straight into it so firstly we're going to start off with these things here these things are called Channel tags now you can find these in the YouTube Studio under settings and then click on Channel

now I guess if you haven't seen them before they're kind of similar to the tags you put on a video but instead they're actually for your channel as well now I've heard a lot of people say that these don't really make a huge difference but to be honest I completely disagree personally I think that channel tags are the perfect way for you to describe to YouTube what your channel is about and the content you're going to post now especially if you're new to YouTube or you haven't yet posted many videos YouTube won't exactly have much

data about you or your content so when you eventually do post your first video it's going to be difficult for the algorithm to find the Right audience for that video because of such a lack of data so that's where the channel tags can come in really helpful to a new YouTube channel because you're basically giving YouTube as much information about you and your channel the content before you even post which can help when you do Post make sure that that video gets pushed in front of the right people because you've pre-old YouTube all the details

it needs to know I hope that makes sense now I always make sure that whenever I say set up a new channel it's the first thing I do just go in there put as many key words down related to your Niche and your content as possible and it just gives you the best head start to a new Niche or new channel as you can possibly get guys look it's free it takes like literally 2 minutes so just go in there if you haven't yet already just put as many keywords related to your niche as possible

in there and it'll give you that boost for the algorithm going forward okay then so this now brings us on to the next setting which is found just on the channel section here in studio and this one is upload defaults this little feature can be a huge timesaver and it can also really help your channel growth so I would absolutely recommend you take advantage of this so basically what you see here is sort of like upload default template so everything you input in here will automatically be added to your new videos every single time you

post them now I don't ever really touch a title because obviously titles change all the time and you don't want a standard one for each but I always make sure to have some stuff in these here in the description bit I always have link to my socials I add a couple of key wordss to my Niche and then I have three hashtags related to my Niche that goes on every single video These hashtags are really really useful in making sure the algorithm suggests my content to the Right audience so you need to make sure that

you need to add at least three hashtags in here to related to your Niche and also if you have any social media links or website links add them in there too it just cuz it means you don't have to go in there and do it every single time and next I always set this to unlisted and I'll tell you why in the next setting and then down here we have tags of course again this bit is so helpful guys because it saves you so much time instead of having to do this over and over again

for each video now I always feel this about half full with tags related to my Niche and they are the same every single time because I want to make sure that my videos are showed to the people in that Niche but I don't completely feel it guys I do leave some space for other tags because some videos are slightly different so I need more kind of like specific tags after that so I only fill it half full with Niche tags and then the rest I do per video so make sure when you click on the

setting guys yours kind of look similar to this just make sure you put as many Niche specific tags in there as possible just so every single time you post you don't miss any off and it's already done for you it makes life so much easier I promise so then next up is the visibility guys like this one is super super important you probably haven't heard any of the top YouTubers saying this before but basically I always set my new video to unlist it for 24 hours before I post it so it basically sits in the

algorithm on YouTube for 24 hours unlisted and then I click live afterwards now this sounds like a lot of time to have it out there not doing anything but I do it because it allows YouTube and the algorithm to gather as much data about the video as possible before it goes live because giving it 24 hours lets YouTube do all of the relevant checks and stuff before it goes out So after 24 hours it will know the Right audience it will analyze all the metadata and of course it will prevent any copyright issues and so

on now I personally believe that this gives each video the very best Head Start before it goes live now I can't actually point to any evidence this works but personally I found it works for me and there are a lot of other people who do this as well who don't actually talk about it so when you next post a video just make sure it's unlisted for at least 24 hours before it goes live and this way the algorithm will have enough time to gather as much data about the video as possible and make sure that

it goes to the Right audience once it goes live it's honestly guys it works a treat for me okay then so the next setting is actually down here too when you upload a new video so this section here publish to subscriptions feed and notify subscribers now on the face of it this sounds like a setting you want to turn on and leave on of course and in some cases you do but there are specific cases where you want to turn this off as it could really hurt your channel and your video growth okay then so

to explain what I mean let's say that you have a travel channel like this one here 99% of the content this channel posts is just related to travel and travel videos so all of these subscribers here you see are people who just love travel and they love watching travel videos so if you keep posting travel videos you need to make sure this setting is always turned on because you're posting travel videos to a travel audience but let's say on this channel you wanted to experiment with a different type of content let's say you wanted to

try a new Niche or like I don't know personal development or personal finance video in that case you want to turn this setting off now that's because the original subscribers to this channel are not going to be interested in a personal finance or personal growth video because they signed up to a travel account so if you do post a new video in a different Niche like a personal finance Niche for example you don't want the YouTube algorithm to suggest that video to your subscribers because those subscribers aren't going to be interested and if the algorithm

does push it in front of those subscribers and they don't click on it it's going to really hurt the video rating so if you click off this setting when you do post this new video the algorithm will not show this new video to your new subscribers The algorithm will show this video to people who it thinks will be interested in it so you're going to bypass a lot of people who aren't interested in it and that's exactly what you want so whenever you want to experiment with a new type of content or a new Niche

that's completely different to the audience you already have you need to make sure this is turned off because otherwise it can really hurt your Channel's growth however if you do continue to post videos that are related to your Niche and your audience make sure it's always clicked on if you have any questions on that one just let me know down below and I'll try and clear out for you okay then so the next setting you want to make sure you've done correctly is automatic chapters now these are these things here that basically slice up your

video and put into chapters now I use them all the time because I love them and it allows viewers to be able to skip in between sections easily some creators love them some creators hate them it's completely down to personal preference now I would absolutely always recommend you split your video up into chapters but that's just me now this button looks nice and convenient because it essentially says that YouTube will do the hard work for you but this can actually be really bad and really ruin your video because when I do chapters I know exactly

what's what I know all of the correct timings I know all the correct titles whereas YouTube on the other hand just takes a wild guess and 99% of the times it gets it wrong so if you do add chapters onto your video guys do not select automatic chapters because automatic chapters are like YouTube's best attempt at kind of like splitting up your content and doing what it thinks is correct that's a complete nogo it's either chapters yourself that you do yourself or don't select it at all because letting YouTube do automatic chapters never goes well

so I always untick this guys it might sound easy but it's not so always in tiet if you are going to do the automatic chapters guys just do yourself before you post a video just rewatch it get a little pen and paper down not down all the timings and then input that into the description afterwards that's exactly what I do it takes no more than 5 minutes it's easy so just make sure never have this one ticked okay then so the next setting you need to make sure it's turned on are these things here this

is what a viewer will see when they come to the end of a video and it's the perfect way to get people to continue to watch even more of your content and boost your watch hours and monetization now to add these it's super simple either do it during the upload process here on this section and then select the style you want and now I always select this one on here because it gives the view are two options or if you've already uploaded a video what you want to do is just scroll down here and click

on end screens on the right hand side there and just add it from there like it's that simple guys but it makes the world of difference especially for your watch hours having YouTube suggest more videos to viewers after they finish that one to go and click on a new one is the perfect way to increase your watch time and increase your viewership you can actually amend the time here so this goes on automatically for 20 seconds towards the end so the last 20 seconds of a video will have these two popups here which is just

a great way of doing it but if you didn't want 20 seconds you only want five all you've got to do is just go down there but yeah make sure you have this setting on every single video okay then so the very last setting one we have right here is whether or not you should let people clip up your content so here you can see the remix setting now this setting has most creators divided some creators see this as an opportunity for free marketing as it lets other people clip up and use your content for

their own personal gain but then some creators hate it realistically if you want to grow as quickly as possible I would suggest letting people remix your content for me personally I always leave off because I don't really like people using my content but I know that it can be very beneficial for you to grow as a Creator and your popularity to grow if you do let other people clip up your content a lot of people love it a lot of people hate it for me personally I don't like it but if you want to grow
