if tonight was your last night on Earth what would you do would you gather your closest friends and family cherishing every final moment would you try to savor the last few hours of Peace before the storm came or would you run desperate to escape the suffering ahead Jesus knew he knew the weight of what was coming the Betrayal the agony the cross he knew that in just a few hours he would be dragged away beaten beyond recognition abandoned by those closest to him he knew that the same crowd that once shouted hosana would soon scream
crucify him and yet instead of running instead of hiding he chose to sit he chose to look into the faces of his disciples including the one who had already sold him out for 30 silver coins he chose to break bread to pour wine to offer Words of Love and Hope knowing that those very hands he was feeding would soon scatter in fear the Last Supper wasn't just a meal it was a battle against time a final lesson before the greatest sacrifice in history and tonight we are stepping into that upper room with him we are

you're about to hear will forever change the way you see The Last Supper The Last Supper wasn't just another meal it was the Calm before the storm the final hours before history itself would change and yet as Jesus sat at that table breaking bread speaking words of love his disciples had no idea what was really happening they thought this was just another Passover a sacred night yes A Night to Remember God's Deliverance a night to share a meal to sing hymns to celebrate their faith but for them this was routine something they had done every
year of their lives they didn't understand that this would be the last time they would ever sit with Jesus like this they didn't realize that the Lamb of God was sitting among them about to become the final sacrifice Jesus knew and as he looked around the room he could feel the weight of it all think about the biggest moment you've ever prepared for maybe it was your wedding day the anticipation the nerves the overwhelming mix of emotions maybe it was a championship game months of training knowing that everything was leading to this one night maybe
it was a job interview a final exam a life-changing conversation whatever it was you knew that nothing would be the same after that moment but nothing absolutely nothing compares to preparing for your own sacrifice Jesus wasn't just getting ready for suffering he was about to Bear the weight of the world's sin he was about to take on the Betrayal the rejection the whips on his back the nails in his hands the full wrath of God he was about to walk straight into hell itself to rescue humanity and the disciples they were laughing talking passing bread
around they had no idea even though Jesus had been warning them telling them again and again that this day was coming they still didn't fully grasp it the son of man must suffer many things and be rejected and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life Luke 9:22 the hour has come for the son of man to be glorified John 12 23 one of you will betray me Matthew 2621 and yet they still didn't understand it's easy to wonder how could they be so blind how could they sit in that
room in the presence of Jesus and not see what was right in front of them but aren't we the same way God gives us warning signs he speaks to us through his word through circumstances through Whispers in our spirit but we don't listen we keep living as if everything will always stay the same we ignore the urgency of the moment just like the disciples we assume we have more time but what if they had known what if Peter James and John had realized that after this meal their world would be turned upside down that within
hours their lord would be arrested beaten and led to die would they have sat closer hung on to his every word wept at his feet because the tension in that room was thick even if they didn't fully understand it yet Jesus could feel the weight of what was coming every time he looked at Judas he knew what was about to happen every time he heard Peter speak he knew that boldness would soon turn to denial every time he passed the bread he knew it was representing the body that would soon be torn apart and still
he stayed he didn't run he didn't try to escape he embraced every moment because he knew what he was about to do wasn't just for them it was for you this was more than a meal this was more than a conversation this was the moment where the old Covenant would end and the New Covenant would begin and yet in this sacred moment someone was about to make a choice that would change everything because sitting at that table with hands that had served alongside Jesus with lips that had spoken his name was the one who had
already sold him for 30 silver coins and Jesus knew what would you have done knowing that your betrayer was sitting across from you Jesus looked around the table at the men who had followed him for years men who had seen the blind receive sight the dead rise the storms bow at his command they had eaten with him walked with him listened to his every every word and yet one of them was about to betray him and not just betray him sell him trade him for a handful of silver think about that imagine sitting at a
table eating with someone you love trust and have poured your heart into someone you have cared for taught given opportunity after opportunity imagine looking them in the eye knowing that before the night is over they will hand you over over to your enemies how would you react would you call them out would you expose them would you let everyone in the room know exactly what kind of person they are Jesus didn't instead he fed him Judas was right there he wasn't seated in the corner ashamed of what he had done he was at the table
pretending eating playing the role of a loyal disciple while the 30 silver coins weighed heavy in his heart and yet Jesus let him stay he didn't throw him out he didn't humiliate him in front of the others instead he gave him one more chance truly I tell you one of you will betray me Matthew 26:21 can you hear the weight in his voice he wasn't just saying it for the others he was speaking directly to Judas giving him an opportunity to come clean to confess to repent the room must have gone silent the disciples confused
started questioning the themselves surely not I Lord Matthew 26:22 but Judas knew and so did Jesus and yet even in this moment Jesus still loved him instead of calling him an enemy instead of exposing him Jesus handed him bread the one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me Matthew 26:23 in that culture sharing food from the same dish was a sign of closeness of friendship of deep relationship Jesus was saying Judas you are close to me you have been given everything and still you are about to do this even
then he was reaching out but Judas had already made his choice Satan had entered his heart John 13:27 and he got up from the table and left and Jesus let him go because this is who Jesus is he does not force love he offers it he doesn't chase down those who have already chosen the path of Destruction he gives them every opportunity but the choice is theirs But the saddest part Judas never truly knew Jesus he followed him he preached in his name he cast out demons but when the time came he loved money more
than the Messiah and before we judge Judas too quick L how many today are just like him how many people claim to follow Jesus go to church serve in Ministry but when the pressure comes when Temptation Rises when the cost of following him is too high they turn away how many sit at his table hear his words experience his presence but their hearts are already given to something else Judas isn't just a story from 2,000 years ago he is a war morning because betrayal didn't stop in that room it still happens today how many people
have been betrayed by someone they trusted a friend a family member a spouse a church leader how many have felt the sting of knowing that someone you loved was willing to throw you away for something meaningless and the real test how do you respond because Jesus gave us the example he didn't fight back he didn't lash out he didn't demand Revenge he still loved not because Judas deserved it but because Jesus could not be anything other than who he is this is where most of us struggle it's easy to love people who are good to
us it's easy to be kind to those who support us but what about when the Betrayal is personal when a spouse is Unfaithful when a best friend stabs you in the back when someone you trusted destroys your reputation with a single lie the world tells us to cut them off get even make them suffer but Jesus washed judas's feet Jesus gave him bread Jesus gave him every opportunity to change and if Jesus could do that for The Man Who Sold him to his murderers what does that say about how we should handle betrayal this is
where true Christianity is tested do we only follow Jesus when it's easy or do we follow him even when it costs us Jesus knew that Judas had made his choice he knew that no matter how much love he gave Judas had already given his heart to Satan and still he let him go without hate in his heart because Jesus wasn't consumed by the Betrayal of one man he was focused on the salvation of the world and this is the lesson you will be betrayed you will be hurt people you love will walk away but you
have to choose will you become bitter or will you become more like Jesus because the table was still full of men who needed him the night was still unfolding the cross was still waiting and Jesus didn't let betrayal stop him from fulfilling his purpose neither should you Judas had left the betrayer was gone slipping into the night to set the plan in motion and yet Jesus remained he knew what was was coming the arrest the trial the whips tearing through his flesh the nails that would pin him to a cross he knew the agony that
awaited him and still he sat in love in surrender in purpose the room was quiet now the weight of his words hung in the air the disciples didn't understand everything yet but something felt different there was an intensity in Jesus eyes a heaviness in his voice and then picked up the bread this was no ordinary bread for centuries Israel had been celebrating the Passover the night when God had delivered them from Egypt they ate unleavened bread bitter herbs roasted lamb all reminders of the suffering of their ancestors the bread was meant to remind them of
the haste in which their forefathers had fled of God's provision in the wilderness but this time Jesus wasn't just remembering the past he was pointing to the future he held up the bread looking at the men who had followed him for years The Men Who Would soon abandon him and then he broke it this is my body which is broken for you take eat and do this in remembrance of me Luke 22:19 the bread tore apart in his hands they didn't fully understand it yet but he was showing them what would happen to him in
just a few hours his body beaten torn pierced his skin ripped open by the whips his frame crushed under the weight of the Cross and yet he gave it willingly think about that imagine knowing your body is about to be ripped apart and still offering it imagine looking into the eyes of the very people you are about to die for knowing that some of them will betray you abandon you deny you and still breaking the bread still offering yourself freely this was the moment where everything shifted for thousands of years the old Covenant had required
the blood of animals to atone for sin Lambs were slaughtered sacrifices were made but it was never enough it was always temporary a cycle that had to be repeated year after year sacrifice after sacrifice because the blood of animals could never fully take away sin It could only cover it for a time but now Jesus was becoming the final sacrifice the Lamb of God whose body would be broken so that we could be healed this was the New Covenant not a contract based on law but a covenant based on Grace not an agreement based on
our ability to follow rules but a promise sealed in the very Body of Christ by his wounds we are healed Isaiah 53 colon 5 the disciples couldn't grasp the depth of what was happening in that moment they had no idea that in just a few hours Jesus would be dragged away that by morning he would be standing before a violent crowd barely able to stand bleeding from head to toe they didn't understand that the bread he had just broken would be their last meal together before the cross but Jesus knew and still he gave thanks
let that sink in he knew what was coming he knew his body would be broken and yet he blessed the bread he blessed the suffering because he wasn't thinking about the pain he was thinking about you when he broke the bread he saw your face when he lifted the cup he thought of your sin your shame your Redemption when he gave thanks he was thanking the father for the chance to save you he wasn't a victim he was a willing sacrifice and this is where it gets personal because today we still take the bread we
still remember but how many times do we come to the table without really understanding the weight of what Jesus did how often do we take communion eating the bread and drinking the cup without truly reflecting on what it cost him his body wasn't just broken for a story it was broken for you for every moment you felt unworthy for every sin you thought was too big to be forgiven for every wound every regret every failure his body was broken so that yours could be made whole and the question is do you really believe it because
it's easy to say Jesus died for the world but do you believe he died for you that when he held the bread in his hands that night he was thinking of you because this was not just the breaking of bread this was the break of barriers the old system was gone the law was being fulfilled the final sacrifice was about to be made and Jesus was not being taken against his will he was giving himself for you the bread had been broken his body willingly offered but Jesus wasn't done he picked up the cup the
deep red wine swirling inside and lifted it for them to see the moment was Heavy sacred every disciple sat in silence waiting for his next words this is my blood of the New Covenant which is poured out for many for the Forgiveness of sins Matthew 26:28 they had heard Jesus speak in Parables before they had watched him turn water into wine but this this was different Jesus wasn't just predicting his death he was making a way for salvation because from the beginning of time blood had always been the price of redemption it started in the
Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve sinned God clothed them with animal skins Genesis 3:21 blood had to be shed to cover their shame it continued with Abel's sacrifice a pure offering that was accepted by God it was established in the law of Moses the sacrificial system that required the blood of animals to atone for sin without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins Hebrews 9:22 and for thousands of years this was the only way but the problem the sacrifices were never enough the blood of bulls and goats could only cover sin
temporarily it couldn't remove it forever year after year the high priest had to enter the most holy place offering blood on behalf of the people a cycle of sa sacrifice an Endless River of blood but never a true solution until this night until Jesus because when he lifted the cup he was saying this is the final sacrifice no more Lambs no more altars no more temporary coverings the blood of the perfect lamb was about to be poured out once and for all and the disciples they didn't fully understand it yet but Jesus did because this
was the Fulfillment of Passover centuries before on the night when death swept through Egypt God gave the Israelites one instruction to be saved take the blood of a lamb and put it on the doorposts of your house and when I see the blood I will pass over you no plague will touch you Exodus 12:13 the blood was their covering the blood was their protection and that night death passed over them not because they were righteous but because they were covered and now in this Upper Room Jesus was revealing what Passover had been foreshadowing all along
it was never about the blood of a lamb it was about his blood the blood that would cover not just a house but every heart that believes in him the blood that would wash away sin not just for a year but forever the blood that wouldn't just save Israel but would save the whole world and here's what's even more powerful on the night of the first Passover God told the Israelites to eat the lamb not just sacrifice it consume it take it in and now Jesus had just given his disciples bread to eat and a
cup to drink because this wasn't just a symbol it was an invitation an invitation to be part of the New Covenant not a covenant based on law but on love not a covenant written on Stone but on human hearts not a covenant sealed with temporary sacrifices but sealed in the very blood of God himself but what does this mean for us today because we weren't in that upper room we weren't sitting at the table we weren't handed the Cup by Jesus himself but the blood still speaks the blood of Jesus is just as powerful today
as it was on that night and here's why that matters the blood of Jesus washes away your sin no matter how deep your mistakes go his blood go goes deeper you don't have to live in guilt you are forgiven the blood of Jesus protects you just like the blood on the doorposts stopped death from entering the blood of Jesus covers your life today the enemy cannot touch what God has covered the blood of Jesus gives you access to God under the old Covenant only the high priest could enter God's presence but when Jesus shed his
blood the Veil in the temple was torn in two now you don't need a priest to stand before God for you you can enter his presence boldly the blood of Jesus Makes You Victorious Revelation 12:11 says they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony when the enemy attacks when fear tries to take over you have a weapon the blood of Jesus and here's what's even more personal Jesus didn't just shed his blood for Humanity as a whole he shed it for you for your past for your pain
for every sin every wound every moment of Shame you thought you could never Escape he saw it all and still he lifted the cup he knew what it would cost him he knew the suffering that was coming he knew that in just a few hours his own blood would pour from his body and still he gave thanks because he wasn't just thinking about the suffering he was thinking about your salvation so the question is are you covered because the Israelites had a choice they had to apply the blood to their doorposts the blood was powerful
but if it wasn't applied it wouldn't save them and today the same is true Jesus blood has already been poured out the price has already been paid but have you applied it to your life because this wasn't just a moment in history it's a moment that changes everything for you today the blood has already been poured the sacrifice has already been made the door is already open but you have to say yes the cup had been lifted the New Covenant had been spoken but as Jesus looked around the room he could see it they still
didn't understand they had followed him for three years seen Miracles that defied nature itself blind eyes opened the Dead raised storms silenced by a single word they had heard him predict this very moment that he would suffer that he would be betrayed that he would be handed over to die and yet as they sat there they still couldn't grasp it they still thought Jesus was about to establish an Earthly Kingdom they still believed he would rise to power overthrow Rome and reign as Israel's King they didn't see the cross in front of them and Peter
he was the loudest of them all even if all fall away I will not Mark 1429 he said it with his chest with confidence with conviction he meant it he had always been the Bold one the one to step out first he was the one who jumped out of the boat to walk on water the one who declared you are the Christ the son of the Living God God Matthew 16:16 so when Jesus started talking about betrayal about suffering about the disciples Falling Away Peter took it personally Lord I am ready to go with you
to prison and to death Luke 2233 he wasn't lying he believed it but Jesus Jesus knew better Jesus knew what was coming he knew the fear that would hit when the soldiers arrived he knew that in just a few hours Peter the Bold one the brave one the one who swore he would never leave would deny even knowing him truly I tell you Peter before the rooster crows today you will deny three times that you know me Luke 22:34 Peter must have been shocked deny Jesus after everything they had been through impossible but that's the
thing about faith you don't really know how strong it is until the fire comes it's it's easy to declare I'll never turn away from God when life is good it's easy to say I'll Stand For Truth when there's no pressure it's easy to sing I surrender all when surrender doesn't cost you anything but what happens when the pressure is real when following Jesus actually costs you something when saying his name out loud could mean losing a job losing a friendship losing the approval of people you love because that's what was about to happen to Peter
it's not that he didn't love Jesus it's that he didn't realize how weak his own strength was and honestly we're the same way we think we're strong we think we're ready we think we could never fall away until the fire comes until the pressure hits until we're put in a position where we have to choose between our comfort and our commitment to Christ Jesus knew the disciples weren't ready for the fight ahead head you will All Fall Away Mark 14:27 all of them and not just Judas not just Peter all they weren't prepared for the
reality of what was about to happen because this wasn't just a test of their loyalty this was a spiritual war Jesus had already warned Peter Satan has asked to sift you like wheat but I have prayed for you Simon that your faith may not fail Luke 2231 1-32 did you catch that Satan had to ask for permission just like with job just like with every believer who faces spiritual warfare the enemy knows who is a threat and Peter Peter was a threat that's why he was being targeted that's why Satan wanted to shake him to
break him to make him believe that he was too far gone after his failure and that's exactly what the enemy does to us he attacks when we least expect it he shakes us when we think we're strong he makes us question everything we thought we knew about God about ourselves about our faith and when we fall when we make mistakes when we fail in the moment we thought we'd be strong he whispers see you were never really a disciple but Jesus already knew Peter would fall and he already knew Peter would rise again and when
you have turned back strengthen your brothers Luke 22:32 Jesus wasn't focused on Peter's failure he was focused on his restoration because this wasn't the end of Peter's story this wasn't where his faith would die yes he would deny Jesus yes he would break down in bitter tears yes he would feel like the worst disciple in history but the same Peter who denied Jesus three times would one day stand in front of thousands and preach the gospel with fire the same Peter who was afraid of a servant girl would later stand before Kings unshaken unafraid because
failure wasn't the end of his story and it's not the end of yours either we all have moments of weakness we all have times when we fall we all have seasons where we realize we weren't as strong as we thought we were but Jesus isn't shocked by your weakness he isn't sitting in heaven disappointed in you he's praying for you just like he prayed for Peter because the true test of faith isn't never failing it's whether you get back up whether you run back to him instead of letting shame keep you away whether you trust
that even when you fall his love never does and if Jesus could take Peter the man who denied him the man who fell apart under pressure and turned him into one of the most powerful preachers in history what do you think he can do with you Peter had just declared his undying loyalty to Jesus vowing to follow him even to death but Jesus knew better he knew Peter would fall he knew all of them would and yet he loved them anyway but now something unexpected was about to happen something that would shake them more than
the Tor of betrayal more than the warnings of what was coming Jesus the King of Kings stood up from the table and instead of giving them speech about courage instead of preparing them for battle instead of asking them to serve him in his final hours he picked up a towel the disciples must have gone silent this wasn't right they had spent the last three years watching Jesus do the impossible heal lepers cast out demons raise the dead they had seen him command storms and silence the Pharisees with a single sentence and now he was kneel
in before them the most powerful man in the room on his knees then he poured water into a basin they watched as their lord their teacher wrapped a towel around his waist the posture of a slave and one by one he began to wash their feet imagine the tension the discomfort the confusion foot washing was a task so low so humiliating that even Jewish servants were often exempt from doing it it was reserved for the absolute lowest of the low and yet Jesus was doing it the Messiah the Son of God the one who created
the heavens and the Earth touching their feet Dusty calloused covered in dirt from the roads of Jerusalem this wasn't just humility this was love in its raest form and as Jesus moved from disciple to disciple the tension in the room only grew stronger until he reached Peter Peter who had always been the one to speak first the one who had just promised Jesus he would never leave Peter who had no idea that in just a few hours he would be the one denying even knowing him and when Jesus knelt before him Peter couldn't take it
Lord are you going to wash my feet John 13:6 it wasn't just a question it was a protest Peter couldn't fathom the idea of Jesus lowering himself like this Jesus the one they had given their lives to follow serving them washing their feet you shall never wash my feet John 138 it was uncomfortable it didn't make sense because in Peter's mind leaders don't serve but Jesus response cut straight to the heart unless I wash you you have no part with me John 138 it wasn't just about feet it was about the cross because Peter still
didn't understand that this was why Jesus had come to cleanse to make new to wash away the dirt that no one else could touch and suddenly Peter wanted more then Lord not just my feet but my hands and my head as well John 13:9 he didn't get it all yet but he knew one thing he wanted to be part of Jesus no matter what it took but Jesus wasn't finished teaching them when he had finished he stood up looked at them and said words that echo through history to the day do you understand what I
have done for you you call me teacher and Lord and rightly so for that is what I am now that I your lord and teacher have washed your feet you also should wash one another's feet John 1312 to4 and just like that he flipped everything upside down because the world says leadership is about power the world says the greatest are the ones with status influence control but Jesus Jesus says the greatest are the ones who serve real leadership isn't about how many people serve you it's about how many people you are willing to serve and
if Jesus the King of Kings the Lord of all was willing to kneel and wash feet how much more should we but this is where it gets uncomfortable because we like the idea of human humility as long as it doesn't cost us anything we don't mind serving as long as people recognize it we don't mind being humble as long as it doesn't feel humiliating but what happens when God calls you to serve someone who doesn't deserve it what happens when he asks you to wash the feet of the one who will betray you because don't
forget Judas was still in the room and Jesus washed his feet too he knew Judas had already made up his mind he knew the silver coins were already in his pocket he knew that in just a few hours Judas would hand him over with a kiss and still Jesus knelt before him took his feet in his hands and washed them that is love that is leadership that is Jesus and today he calls us to do the same I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you John 13:15 so
the question is are we following his example or are we still caught up in the world's definition of leadership because real humility isn't just doing acts of service it's a posture of the heart it's being willing to love when it's inconvenient it's being willing to serve when no one notices it's being willing to humble yourself even when the person you're serving is the very one who will betray you and that's what makes makes Jesus so different because he doesn't just tell us to love our enemies he shows us how he doesn't just tell us to
serve he gets on his knees and does it first so here's the challenge who in your life is God asking you to serve who is he asking you to forgive who is he calling you to love not because they deserve it but because that's what he did for you because if Jesus could wash the feet of the one who would betray him what excuse do we have the room was still the scent of bread and wine lingered in the air the disciples sat trying to process everything that had just happened their Master their lord the
one they believed was the Messiah had just knelt before them like a servant and washed their feet they were confused unsettled unsure of what this night truly meant but Jesus wasn't finished because while the disciples saw only what was in front of them the dim candl light the shared meal The Whispers of conversation there was something else happening in the Unseen realm a war was raging and Satan was in the room not physically not in the way they expected but he was there lurking waiting working behind the scenes because this was his hour Jesus turned
to Peter his voice carrying an urgency that cut through the warmth of the meal Simon Simon Satan has asked to sift you like wheat Luke 22:31 can you imagine hearing that from Jesus not Satan is thinking about attacking you not be careful Peter the enemy is watching you but Satan has asked for you he had requested Peter by name because Peter was a threat Peter was bold he was passionate he was the one who had declared you are the Christ the son of the Living God the one who had walked on water who had witnessed
Jesus glory on the mountain who had just sworn he would never leave and Satan wanted to break him and Jesus used the word sift in those days wheat was sifted by being shaken violently tossed in the air beaten until the chaff separated from the grain That's what Satan wanted to do to Peter to shake him to test him to make him question everything he thought he knew because if the enemy could get Peter to fall he could get him to doubt his calling and Jesus didn't say no did you catch that Jesus didn't say I
told Satan he couldn't touch you Jesus didn't block the attack instead he said but I have prayed for you Simon that your faith may not fail Luke 22:32 not that he wouldn't fall not that he wouldn't struggle but that his faith wouldn't fail Jesus knew Peter would stumble he knew that in just a few hours fear would grip him so tightly that he would deny even knowing Jesus not once not twice but three times and yet Jesus wasn't focused on Peter's failure he was focused on Peter's return and when you have turned back strengthen your
brothers not if you turn back when because this wasn't the end of Peter's story and maybe that's what you need to hear today maybe you've been shaken maybe you've been tested maybe Satan has come after you and you've stumbled in ways you never thought you would and now you wonder can I come back from this Jesus already sees your return Jesus has already prayed for you but at that moment Peter didn't understand so he did what we all do when we don't want to face the truth he denied it Lord I am ready to go
with you to prison and to death Luke 22:33 he meant it he believed it but Jesus saw deeper Peter before the rooster crows today you will deny three times that you know me Luke 22:34 the room must have gone silent Peter the strongest among them would deny Jesus but as the weight of that conversation settled another storm was brewing Jesus turned his gaze toward Judas the man who had sat through the meal listened to every word allowed Jesus to wash his feet all while knowing what he was about to do and now it was time
Jesus leaned in his voice steady unwavering what you are about to do do quickly John 13:27 Judas froze he had been waiting for the right moment the religious leaders were expecting him the money was already in his possession and now Jesus Jesus was giving him permission there was no more hiding no more pretending Judas stood up and left and John recall something chilling and it was night John 13:30 those four words say it all and not just the physical darkness of the evening but the spiritual darkness that had fully taken hold Judas had made his
choice Satan had entered him and now he was moving toward his Destiny the difference between Peter and Judas wasn't that one was stronger than the other it wasn't that one was holier than the other both of them failed Jesus that night but one would return one would repent one would become a pillar of the church and the other the other would be consumed by guilt and take his own life this is how Satan Works he comes to sift he comes to shake he comes to convince you that your failure is final he will tell you
you've messed up too badly you've denied Jesus too many times you can't be restored but Jesus already prayed for Peter and he has already prayed for you because spiritual warfare isn't just something from the Bible it's happening right now Satan is still asking to sift Believers he still wants to shake your faith to make you doubt God to make you walk away so how do you fight back by remembering that Jesus already knows the outcome by standing firm even when you st humble by refusing to let failure keep you from coming back to the one
who has already prayed for your Victory because Satan may be coming for you but Jesus has already won the war Judas was gone the deal had been sealed the darkness had been set into motion and Jesus knew he knew that even now torches were being lit in the hands of men coming to arrest him he knew that in just a few hours he would be beaten Beyond record recognition spat on mocked and nailed to a cross he knew the agony of Gethsemane was moments away the breaking point where his soul would be crushed under the
weight of the world's sin and yet what did he do in this moment did he sit in silence overwhelmed by dread did he cry out in fear did he tell his disciples let's just get this over with number he sang when they had sung A Hymn they went out to the Mount of olives Matthew 26:30 let that sink in Jesus knowing that betrayal was already in motion knowing that the pain of the Cross was ours away chose to worship he lifted his voice to Heaven not in despair but in song Imagine That moment the disciples
still confused still unaware of how close the storm really was singing alongside him their voices blending in harmony filling the Upp room with praise even as the enemy prepared his attack what kind of strength does it take to worship when you know suffering is coming most of us struggle to worship when things go slightly wrong when we lose a job when anxiety Creeps in when life isn't going as planned worship is usually the first thing we let go of but Jesus Jesus was about to suffer like no human had ever suffered before and he still
lifted a song Because worship is Warfare worship is not just a song it's a declaration it's saying no matter what comes I trust you it's saying even if everything falls apart you are still worthy it's saying my circumstances don't change the fact that you are good and if Jesus could worship on the night of his betrayal what does that say about us do we only worship when it's easy do we only praise him when life is good when the prayers are answered when we feel the Joy or do we lift our hands even when we
don't understand because that's what real Faith looks like it's standing in the middle of heartbreak and saying Blessed Be Your Name it's facing uncertainty and singing yet I will praise you it's knowing the storm is coming and choosing to worship anyway and here's something even deeper scholars believe that the hymn Jesus his disciples sang that night was from Psalm 113 to 118 known as the halel Psalms songs of Thanksgiving sung during Passover do you know what those psalms say the Lord is my strengthen my defense he has become my salvation Psalm 118:14 I shall not
die but live and declare the works of the Lord psalm 118:17 the stone the builders rejected has become the Cornerstone Psalm 118:22 Jesus was singing about his own suffering his own rejection his own Victory and he sang it before the pain even came that's the kind of faith that terrifies the enemy because when you Worship in your darkest moments Satan loses his power when job lost everything his children his wealth his health his first response was was worship job 1:20 when Paul and Silas were locked in prison beaten and chained they sang hymns at midnight
act 16:25 and when Jesus the son of God was staring death in the face he lifted his voice in Praise because worship shifts the atmosphere it reminds us that the battle is already won it takes our Focus off the storm and puts it back on the one who walks on water it confuses the enemy because how do you fight someone who refuses to stop praising and maybe that's what you need right now maybe you're in a storm maybe the pressure is unbearable maybe you don't see a way out but can you still worship because that's
where the Breakthrough happens not when the problem is solved not when everything makes sense but when you Worship in the middle of it Jesus wasn't waiting for the resurrection to start praising he sang before the cross and that's what he's calling you to do to worship Before the Breakthrough to praise before the healing to lift your voice before the miracle because that's what faith looks like and that's how you fight a battle you cannot see the final note of the hymn faded into silence the meal was over the cup had been lifted the bread had
been broken the moment that had been set in motion before the foundation of the world was now upon Him Jesus stood the disciples followed it was time they left the upper room stepping into the cool night air of Jerusalem the streets were quiet except for the faint flicker of torches in the distance torches carried by men who had no idea they were about to play a role in the most important night in history with every step jesus carried the weight of what was ahead because now the walk to Gethsemane had begun for the disciples it
was just another night they still didn't understand what was coming maybe they thought they were simply going to the Garden to pray as they had so many times before but for Jesus this was the beginning of the battle the real battle wasn't when the soldiers would arrive with Judas it wasn't when he would stand trial before the high priest it wasn't even when the whips would tear through his back or when the nails would be driven into his hands the real battle started here on this walk because now he had to choose to keep walking
think about that most people picture Jesus suffering beginning when he was arrested but it started the moment he left that table because now there was no turning back every step toward Gethsemane was a step toward Agony every breath brought him closer to betrayal every heartbeat echoed with the knowledge that soon he would be alone would you have been been able to keep walking imagine knowing that in just a few hours you will be arrested like a criminal though you are innocent you will be falsely accused spit on mocked you will be beaten so severely that
your body will barely be recognizable you will be nailed to a cross struggling to breathe as people laugh at your pain would you keep walking or would you turn back because at any moment Jesus could have stopped he could have slipped away into the night he could have chosen to avoid the garden altogether he could have called down 12 Legions of angels Matthew 26:53 and ended it before it even began but he didn't he kept walking for you because the weight he was carrying wasn't just the thought of physical pain it was the weight of
sin every sin ever committed Every Act of rebellion every ounce of Shame every moment of guilt every sin you and I have ever tried to hide he carried it all and he still kept walking the disciples trailed behind unaware of the storms swirling around them maybe some of them were whispering to each other wondering why Jesus seemed so quiet so burdened Peter might have been replaying Jesus words in his head you will deny me three times maybe he still refused to believe it Judas by now was gathering the soldiers leading them toward the Garden it
was too late to turn back and as Jesus stepped into Gethsemane the weight of the world fell on him this was the moment where the Battle of Salvation would truly be fought this was where Jesus would fall to his knees sweat drops of blood and pray father if it is possible take this cup from me this was where he would wrestle with the crushing reality of the Cross and still choose to obey because love kept him walking love for the very people who would reject him love for the very soldiers who would nail him to
the Cross love for you and the question is if you were there that night what would you have done would you have stayed awake with him would you have fought for him when the soldiers came would you have followed him to the Cross or would you have run the truth is we are no different from the disciples we like to believe we would have stood strong we like like to believe we wouldn't have denied him we like to believe we wouldn't have abandoned him when things got hard but how many times do we choose Comfort
over obedience how many times do we stay silent about our faith to avoid rejection how many times do we fail to pray fail to stand fail to follow when it costs us something and yet he still chose the cross he still chose to keep walking knowing that every one of us would fall short because his love was never based on our faithfulness it was based on his so as we stand at the edge of Gethsemane there is one last question to ask what will you do with the love that walked to the garden for you
the last step had been taken the garden lay before him the night had begun and now the question isn't just what happened the question is what does it mean for you because this wasn't just history this wasn't just a tragic night or a meal shared between a rabbi and his students this was a moment that changed everything so I have to ask if you had been at that table how would you have reacted would you have been like John leaning close to Jesus cherishing every word would you have been like Peter full of bold promises
but unaware of your own weakness would you have been like Judas sitting close to Jesus on the outside but far from him in your heart or maybe you would have been like the other disciples listening watching but not fully understanding the weight of what was happening because the truth is we have all been at that table in some way we've all been Peter making commitments to Jesus we later failed to keep we've all been the disciples struggling to understand not realizing how much we need him and if we're honest some of us have even been
like Judas close to Jesus Jesus in appearance but distant in heart but here's what you need to know Jesus knew he knew every failure every mistake every sin and he still broke the bread he still lifted the cup he still walked to Gethsemane he still went to the Cross because he wasn't just dying for good people he was dying for betrayers and deniers doubters and sinners he was dying for the very people who would abandon him and he was dying for you because the whole purpose of the last supper was to show that you don't
have to carry your sin anymore you don't have to live under shame you don't have to wonder if God still loves you you don't have to fight your battles alone Jesus Took the weight of it all so that you would never have to face sin and death by yourself that's why on the night he was betrayed he gave thanks that's why he picked up the bread knowing his body would soon be broken that's why he lifted the cup knowing his blood would soon be poured out because this was never about what we could do for
him this was always about what he was willing to do for us and the question now is what will you do with this because the Last Supper wasn't just a meal it was an invitation an invitation to receive Grace an invitation to be washed clean an invitation to walk in a covenant that is not based on your faith fulness but his so as we close I want you to take a moment to reflect what part of this night speaks to you the most is it the breaking of bread knowing that Jesus was thinking of you
when he offered his body is it the lifting of the cup knowing that his blood covers everything you've ever done is it the washing of feet realizing that true love serves even when it costs everything or is it the walk to Gethsemane knowing that he could have turned back but he kept walking for you comment below let's talk about it and if this message has moved you share it with someone who needs to hear it because this night didn't just change history it changed etern the weight of that night still lingers the Last Supper wasn't
just a gathering it was a farewell a covenant a battle before the battle it was a moment where love sat face to face with Trail where a king knelt like a servant where bread was broken and a future was sealed in Blood and now here we are looking back remembering not as distant Spectators but as those who have been forever changed by what happened in that room because this night wasn't just for Peter it wasn't just for John or James or even Judas it was for you Jesus saw beyond the walls of that upper room
he saw Beyond Jerusalem beyond that moment in time he saw you he saw your struggles your sin your shame he saw every time you would feel unworthy unloved unsure if Grace could still reach you he saw every moment you would feel too weak to keep going too broken to be restored and still he lifted the bread still he poured the cup still he walked to Gethsemane because his love was never conditional it was never based on your Perfection it was based on his and tonight as we reflect on the weight of that night we pray
not out of routine not because it's what we're supposed to do but because this moment Demands a response so wherever you are whether you're sitting in your room driving in your car or listening with your heart heavier than you'd like to admit pause breathe and pray these words out loud of Father we come before you tonight in awe of what Jesus has done we are not worthy but still you chose us we could never earn this Grace but still you gave it freely tonight we remember the weight of that night we remember the love that
sat at the table knowing betrayal was coming we remember the hands that broke the bread knowing they would soon be pierced we remember the voice that lifted the cup knowing his own blood would soon be poured out we remember the feet that walked to Gethsemane no knowing they were carrying him to suffering and Lord we don't just remember it we receive it we receive the grace of the New Covenant we receive the mercy that wipes away every sin we receive the Love That Forgives us even when we fail because we have all been Peter we
have all been the disciples falling asleep when we should be praying we have all been the ones who have denied you with our actions our words our silence and yet you still invite us to the table so tonight Lord we ask for boldness boldness to stand firm in our faith when the world presses us to Fall Away boldness to Love Like Jesus did to serve to kneel to forgive even when it costs us boldness to trust in your plan even when we don't understand it boldness to keep walking even when the path leads to a
cross because we are not alone Jesus you have already gone before us you have already won the war you have already made a way where there was none so tonight we surrender not just in word but in action not just with emotion but with commitment not just for tonight but for every moment moving forward we don't want to be just hearers of the word we want to be doers we don't want to just remember we want to live in the power of what you have done so Lord let this night Marcus let the weight of
this sacrifice never become routine let the blood of Jesus never be taken for granted and let our lives reflect the depth of gratitude that we feel right now thank you Jesus for the table for the cross for the empty grave we love you we worship you and we are yours forever in Jesus name amen if this prayer spoke to you if you feel the weight of his love tonight don't keep it to yourself someone you know needs to hear this someone you know feels too far gone someone you know needs to understand the depth of
Jesus sacrifice share this send it to them let them know the invitation to the table is still open because this wasn't just a night in history it's the reason you are forgiven it's the reason you are free and it's the reason you will never ever face this life alone
