in life the enemies you face will come in many different forms they can come in the form of people Unfortunately they can even be family members sickness can be an enemy an enemy that attacks your health a spirit of heaviness and disappointment and shame can be an enemy that attacks your mind and heart but how encouraging is it if you have someone who stands side by side shoulder toosh shoulder with you when it comes to facing your enemy how much more are you uplifted when you know there is someone who is genuinely praying for you

and interceding for you imagine if you've lost your job and a close friend says I'll help you stay on your feet until you find something else imagine if you're going through a difficult moment in your marriage and another couple says we're praying and fasting for the two of you to make it having someone standing with you during a difficult season is so uplifting now I say all this to highlight a story that we find in Acts chap 23 the Apostle Paul was in a difficult situation he had been arrested he is the cause of a

massive uproar and then he's caught in the middle of a dispute between the Pharisees and the Sadducees now there's a passage of scripture that I want to highlight acts 23:9 to1 it says then there arose a loud outcry and the scribes of the Pharisees parties arose and protested saying we find no evil in this man but if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him let us not fight against God now when there arose a great dissension the commander fearing lest Paul might be pulled to Pieces by them commanded the soldiers to go down

and take him by force from among them and bring him into the barracks but the following night the Lord stood by him and said be of good cheer Paul for as you have testified for me in Jerusalem so you must also bear witness at Rome so Paul stands accused he stands in the middle of a very real threat of Danger on his life but verse 11 here says the following night the Lord stood by him now I'm not going to focus on what the Lord said to encourage Paul but I want you to focus on

the fact that the Bible said the Lord stood by him what more do you need in this life than for God to stand by you why should you worry why should you fear or be anxious when you know that God stands beside you isn't it remarkable that just when Paul might have been forgiven for thinking I'm doing the right thing when the whole world seems to be against me just when Paul was in the firing line there was God standing beside him God was honoring his word which says in Deuteronomy 318 he will never leave

you nor forsake you do not be afraid do not be discouraged everything the Lord has for us is contained in these simple words he will never leave you or forsake you so if you're feeling like the weight of the entire world is on your shoulders God is right there beside you if you're feeling low anxious or worried take heart God stands beside you here's the thing afflictions tough situations do more than simply show what kind of character we have tough times shape and form out character now I believe that Affliction although unpleasant is necessary for

the Christian man or woman because if it were not for the struggle you're going through how would you know that God will never leave you nor forsake you if it were not for the Affliction in your body how else would you know that by his stripes we are healed if it were not for the financial challenges you faced how would you have known that the Lord is a provider problems can sometimes be a blessing saints of God so be encouraged regardless of what you're facing the key thing for us is to believe it's to have

faith in the Lord and He will take care of everything else let us pray Lord thank you for caring for us thank you for promising never to leave us or forsake us someone may be listening right now and they feel forgotten they feel down trotten and tired from the battles that they face Lord Jesus I pray that you make your presence known to anyone who is on the verge of giving up remind them that you are still by their side May the Holy Spirit remind the person who is weak and weary that there is strength

in Jesus Christ May the Holy Spirit remind the person who is feeling like an outcast that Jesus Christ loves them just the way they are and he welcomes you into his arms may your presence go before us King Jesus may it surround us and cover us with you on our side we fear nothing we're not discouraged by what's going on in the economy or what's happening around the world our eyes are on you a God who strengthens us rescues us helps us and delivers Us in times of trouble as your children we firmly believe that

you are able to do exceedingly above anything we could imagine or think Lord we would never be put to shame when our trust is in you I declare Hebrews 13 Verse 6 so we may boldly say the Lord is my helper I will not fear what can man do to me you are our helper Lord Jesus the only one who can uphold each of us with your righteous right hand whatever we need we trust you to supply it you keep us secure Lord you are the answer to every Challenge and difficulty in this life we

praise you for always being there for us looking out for us loving us and protecting us we praise you because you are a God who forgives all of our iniquities we praise you because you are a God who heals restores and makes me whole again we praise you because you are a God who has saved us from destruction and shown us loving kindness and Tender Mercies I will bless your holy name as long as I live I will lift up my hands and praise Only You Lord Jesus Holy Spirit help me to have a heart

filled with praise so that when things are good I will bless the Lord with all my soul and all that is within me I will praise His holy name and when life is challenging or difficult I will still bless the Lord with all my soul and all that is within me I will praise His holy name father if I am to fa face difficult times if I am to endure tough times may it all be For Your Glory I pray that you would use any difficult challenges to build my character use those afflictions to strengthen

my faith Lord help me to understand that sometimes you may allow afflictions into my life so that I may grow spiritually so that I may learn to pray with more intensity Lord I understand that you are more concerned about my character than my comfort levels you care more about my growth as a Believer than the number of blessings I receive you Lord are more concerned with the state of my heart than the level of my comfort 1 Peter 1: 6-7 says in this you rejoice though now for a little while if necessary you have been

grieved d by various trials so that the tested genuiness of your faith more precious than gold that perishes though it's tested by fire may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ Lord as I face various trials May the result be that I will trust you more May the result of my trials be that I have stronger faith I pray that every Affliction would lead me to spiritual maturity I pray that every Affliction will leave me with a desire to really connect with you Lord Jesus because I

know that I cannot go through this life with My Own Strength Lord your word tells me that many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all and so I look to you as my rescue you father when you allow me to go through tough times when you allow me to face certain obstacles I will hold on to your word your word that says in Psalm 34:1 15-18 the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry the face of the Lord is against those

who do evil to cut off the memory of them from the Earth when the righteous cry help the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles the Lord is near to the Brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit I bless your holy name I Praise You Lord Jesus because you are the one who can quench my thirsty Soul you are the one who Faithfully loves me you are the lifegiver and you alone are the one who can make me feel new and refreshed again it is in your presence that I am made whole

I praise you because of your abundant and unfailing mercies for as long as I am alive I will lift up my heart voice and hands to worship you I give you praise for your faithfulness I thank you for listening to this prayer in the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray amen Paul in 2 Corinthians 1:5 said for as we share abundantly in Christ sufferings so through Christ we share abundantly in Comfort too if we are afflicted it is for your comfort and salvation and if we are comforted it is for your comfort which you

experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer Our Hope for you is unshaken for we know that as you share in our sufferings you will also share in our comfort for we do not want to be unaware Brothers of the Affliction we experienced in Asia for we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself indeed we felt that we had received the sentence of death but that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead he delivered us from such a deadly

Peril and he will Deliver Us on him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again he will never leave you nor forsake take you do not be afraid do not be discouraged in this you rejoice though now for a little while if necessary you have been grieved by various trials so that the tested genuiness of your faith more precious than gold that perishes though it's tested by fire may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ
