why did Jesus being God take time to pray it seems contradictory doesn't it discover now how prayer can be much more powerful than you imagine in the next few minutes we'll reveal secrets that can transform your way of seeing and Living Faith stay with us and see why even the son of God felt the need to deeply connect with the father are you ready for a revelation that can change your life don't miss it why did Jesus being God pray to God this is a question that many people ask when we analyze the gospels we
notice that Jesus often isolated himself to pray for example in the Gospel of Luke we are told that he withdrew to solitary places and prayed Luke 5:116 if Jesus Is God was he talking to himself this is a valid and intriguing question that encourages us to delve into The Duality of Jesus humanity and Divinity there is one God who is eternally three distinct persons the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit this does not indicate the existence of three Gods but rather one God in three persons just as water can be found as ice liquid
or vapor and still be water God presents himself as Father Son and Holy Spirit yet still the same God in the Gospel of John 14:26 Jesus describes the Holy Spirit as a distinct entity sent by the father and acting in his name demonstrating the unity and distinct roles within the Trinity a new question then arises which confuses many if Jesus Is God as part of the Trinity why did he need to pray this question strikes at the core of Jesus Earthly Ministry and his mission being fully God and fully man he dedicated moments for prayer
which illustrates his connection with the father fulfills his Earthly role and teaches us about the nature of communication with God I invite everyone to explore the complex beauty of Jesus's prayers and what they represent for our spiritual lives Jesus's nature is exceptional and unique as he is both God and human which means that being 100% God he is capable of Performing actions that only God could do like unique Miracles and saving people in unique ways but he is also 100% human he felt hunger pain and died it's like having complete sets of capabilities in one
person imagine having all the superpowers but at the same time living like any other person facing everything we Face except that he never made mistakes we believe this because it helps us understand how Jesus could perform incredible Feats but also understand what it is to be human the nature of Jesus is one of the central mysteries of Faith encompassing both his divinity and his Humanity Illustrated through his life death and Resurrection the purpose of Jesus's prayers as a model for Humanity is evident he showed us the ideal way to communicate and live with God always
depending on the father Jesus lived in a way to demonstrate that he did nothing by himself he stated very truly I tell you the son can do nothing by himself he can do only what he sees the father doing because whatever the father does the son also does John 5:19 [Music] this means that Jesus awaited God's Direction before acting just like a child watches and learns from their parents not trying to act alone and when he faced extremely challenging moments just before being captured and crucified Jesus prayed intensely he said father if you are willing
take this cup from me yet not my will but yours be done Luke 22:42 this shows that he trusted God's plan more than his own feelings even when apprehensive another purpose of Jesus's prayers was to teach his disciples how to pray he did not keep his prayer life a secret he shared it with his friends the disciples one day they asked him to teach them to pray he said when you pray say father Hallowed Be Your Name Your Kingdom come give us each day our daily bread and forgive us our sins for we also forgive
everyone who sins against us and lead us not into temptation Luke 1114 in this simple prayer known as The Lord's Prayer Jesus showed that praying is talking to God about everything exalting his name requesting what is necessary asking for forgiveness for sins and seeking help to live righteously Jesus prayers are a perfect guide for us on how to be close to God talk to him about everything and trust him with our lives another purpose of jesus' prayers was the expression of human emotion and need he demonstrated that like any of us he also experienced human
emotions and needs here are some ways he manifested these very human traits suffering and anguish in a place called Gethsemane which resembles a peaceful Park filled with olive trees there Jesus felt such deep deep sadness the kind that makes the heart so heavy it's hard to Bear the Bible records then he said to them my soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death stay here and keep watch with me Matthew 2638 imagine Jesus known for healing and helping others now overwhelmed by such intense sadness that he said it could almost kill him he
went further into the garden prostrating Ed himself and prayed to God saying my father if it is possible may this cup be taken from me yet not as I will but as you will Matthew 26:39 this cup symbolized the arduous task he knew he had to face dying on the cross he did not wish to suffer but was willing to carry out what God wanted in search of strength and guidance another passage from the Bible Luke 6:12 12 13 shows Jesus seeking strength and advice it says that in those days he went to the mountain
to pray and spent the entire night in prayer to God at dawn he called his disciples and chose 12 of them whom he also named Apostles before making such an important decision like choosing his 12 closest friends who would help spread his teachings Jesus spent the whole night talking to God it was not just a quick conversation but hours asking for help and guidance by praying all night Jesus demonstrated that he also needed support wisdom and strength finding this by connecting deeply with God these stories remind us that Jesus was not just a spiritual figure
but also a person who felt Deep Emotions and had needs like anyone else he felt overwhelming sadness and sought tranquil places to ask for guidance showing that it's okay for us to do the same when we are facing tough times or important decisions in fulfilling human righteousness Jesus lived the perfect life that we with our limitations cannot achieve as we delve into the stories and teachings of the Bible we discover that Jesus not only lived exemplarily he embodied human Perfection obeying God completely something that is challenging for us to do on a daily basis the
book of Hebrews tells us that during his Earthly Journey Jesus offered prayers and supplications with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death and was heard because of his reverent submission although he was a son he learned obedience through what he suffered Hebrews 578 his prayers were Not Mere Whispers to the wind but true cries loaded with g genuine emotion yet his obedience was unwavering regardless of the sacrifice required Philippians 28 adds another dimension to this narrative by revealing that even though he took on human form Jesus humbled himself and
was obedient to the point of death even death on a cross he did not only obey when it was convenient his obedience extended to facing a painful and humiliating death his life was not made up of a series of easy choices but a continual submission to God's will even if it led him to the Cross what makes jesus' life truly remarkable is that being fully human like us with the same emotions Temptations and pains he never failed in his obedience and submission every action every word and every thought were in perfect alignment with Divine designs
he did not live for himself but for God and for us the perfect life of Jesus is crucial because it accomplished something extraordinary on our behalf where we fail to be righteous his existence offers us the chance to be seen as righteous before God it's as if he took the test of life and scored perfectly on behalf of humanity therefore by believing in him it's as though this flawless score is transferred to our record imagine imagine trying to follow a recipe without making a single mistake for us that is practically impossible but Jesus Managed IT
we might mix the wrong ingredients measure incorrectly or even overcook the meal but Jesus in the kitchen of Life followed the Divine recipe without making mistakes he lived the life we should have lived and offered us the reward as if we had achieved it ourselves by understanding Jesus perfect obedience and submission we can appreciate the Incredible Gift that is offered through faith in him it is a gift that encourages us not because we can earn it but because it is given freely a testament to the perfect life he lived in our place in jesus' life
prayer was not just a religious obligation or a public display it was something natural and essential like breathing a Lifeline to connect with his father for Jesus praying meant maintaining an unbreakable Bond like that of a child with their father even as the Son of God he maintained dialogues with the father depending on this connection for strength and guidance this tells us something powerful about prayer it is not just about making requests it's about keeping our relationship with God alive and fresh look at what happened right after Jesus was baptized as he was praying heaven
was opened Luke 3:21 at that moment Heavens seemed to open symbolizing deep engagement Jesus was in constant contact with his father and it was during these conversations that incredible things happened decisions were made strength was received and love was shared prayer was also an act of love and Trust within the Trinity Father Son and Holy Spirit Jesus even as God expressed his trust in the father through prayer for example when he was about to raised Lazarus from the dead he said father I thank you that you have heard me I knew that you always hear
me John 1141 42 the thanks was not for show it was the son talking with the father confident that he was heard an intimate exchange of trust and love this shows us that the heart of prayer is about trust when we pray we are entering into this circle of love and trust that exists since before time we are telling God I depend on you I trust in you just as Jesus did finally prayer was how Jesus fully embraced Being Human the Incarnation which is the fancy word for God becoming man in Jesus was not simply
God wearing a human suit he became fully one of us and part of being human is recognizing that we are not all powerful that we need help that we we need God Jesus clearly demonstrated the importance of prayer when life became challenging especially before he was arrested in the garden called Gethsemane he felt deeply Disturbed at the prospect of facing death on the cross at that critical moment he prayed father if you are willing take this cup from me yet not my will but yours be done Luke 22:42 here he faces an internal struggle showing
that it's perfectly acceptable to bring our deepest fears to God but also emphasizing that in the end prayer is about trusting in God's way more than our own therefore prayer in jesus' life was his way of staying close to God demonstrating trust and love within the Divine family and fully living his Humanity with all its difficulties and triumphs when we pray we follow in jesus' footsteps knowing god in an intimate and personal way trusting him with our lives and embracing what it means to be truly human just as Jesus did additionally Jesus played a vital
intercessory role praying for others as specifically reported in the Book of John 17: 9-23 in this deeply emotional moment Jesus called the Son of God speaks to his father father on behalf of his friends which includes not just the disciples present with him but all of us who would one day believe in him he prays for their protection their Joy their unity and for them to be Sanctified in the truth of God's word Jesus says I pray for them I am not praying for the world but for those you have given me for they are
yours John 17:9 this reveals Jesus special concern for his followers aware of the challenges they would face in the world and asking God to take care of them but he does not stop there he also prays for all people who would believe in him through the message of his disciples my prayer is not for them alone I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message John 1720 this shows that Jesus thought of each of us long ago he asked his father that we might all be one just as he and the
father are one wishing for everyone to be in the same family united and working together in love Jesus's role as mediator between God and humans is essential for understanding our relationship with the Divine in the first letter of Paul to Timothy 2:5 we find a clear description of this role for there is one God and one mediator between God God and Mankind the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5 a mediator acts as a bridge or an intermediary helping two parties to understand each other and to resolve their differences before Jesus people were separated from God
due to their sins Jesus came to bridge this Gap he lived a sinless life died for our mistakes and rose again demonstrating his power over sin and death with this he became the only mediator between us and God when we make mistakes Jesus intervenes for us as if saying to the father I have taken care of this person I have paid the price for their mistakes this is remarkable because it means that we can approach God directly through Jesus we don't need anyone else to mediate our communication with God Jesus is our direct line to
him when when we pray we can do so in the name of Jesus and he will intercede for us ensuring that we remain connected with God this simplifies our understanding that Jesus deeply cares about us and talks to God about our needs our protection and our Unity with each other and with him as our mediator Jesus ensures that despite our faults we can still be close to God prayer in this context acts as a secret meeting place where we meet with God to discuss everything on our hearts it's where we seek strength to face challenges
that seem bigger than us choose the right friends to help us and perform incredible Deeds that demonstrate God's greatness prayer strengthens our purpose and empowers us to accomplish meaningful tasks with Divine help imagine being so stressed and worried that you start sweating as if it were raining on your forehead that's how Jesus felt on a crucial night knowing he would face an extremely difficult challenge so what did he do he didn't try to be brave alone he prayed during that prayer an angel from heaven appeared to strengthen him the Bible records this in Luke 22:43
where it says an angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him this teaches us that when we have great tasks ahead we can pray like Jesus and God may send us help similar to a coach motivating a player who is about to score the winning goal choosing the right team is crucial you want friends who will be with you in good times and bad Jesus had an important decision when choosing his disciples who would continue his work after his departure he didn't choose randomly he spent the entire night in communication with God about it
Luke 6:12 13 tells us one of those days Jesus went out to a Mountainside to pray and spent the night praying to God and when morning came he called his disciples to him and chose 12 of them whom he also designated Apostles Jesus's entire night of prayer was his way of ensuring he had the right team when we have important decisions to make like choosing friends or forming a team we can hit the pause button and talk with God about it just as Jesus did then there are those moments when we need something extraordinary to
happen like a real life Miracle when Jesus was about to raise his friend Lazarus from the dead he didn't just perform the ACT first he talked with God he thanked God for always hearing him which was like a son celebrating the constant presence of his father this is evidenced in John 11:41 42 so they took away the stone then Jesus looked up and said father I thank you that you have heard me I knew that you always hear me but I said this for the benefit of the crowd standing here that they may believe that
you sent me Jesus showed us that even when we're about to do something incredible it's not about showcasing our skills but about highlighting God's goodness and love he talked with God first to emphasize that the Wonders that would occur with thanks to God not just him therefore prayer is not just about asking for things it's also about preparing to perform great Deeds make right decisions and acknowledge God's Merit for the incredible things he accomplishes through us it's like having a direct line of superpower that always available regardless of what we face on our journey to
understand why Jesus being recognized as part of God prayed to God we've uncovered some crucial points let's recap dual nature of Jesus first we address the nature of Jesus as fully Divine and fully human this dual nature is fundamental for understanding the reasons behind his prayers as God Jesus is part of the Trinity but as a man he lived within human limitations Philippians 268 concept of the Trinity we explored the concept of God the Father God the son and God the Holy Spirit three distinct persons but one in essence Jesus communicated with God the Father
demonstrating the perfect relationship within the Divinity John 10:30 importance of Jesus prayers Jesus his prayers revealed his Reliance on God the Father modeling dependence on God's wisdom and strength even in the face of challenges his prayers like the one made in the Garden of Gethsemane father if you are willing take this cup from me yet not my will but yours be done Luke 22:42 show his submission to God's Will and offer insights into his mission to redeem Humanity Ministry of intercession moreover Jesus's prayer served as an intimate glimpse of his ministry he prayed for his
disciples and all believers asking for Unity and protection John 17223 this reflects his role as an intercessor and reveals the depth of his love and commitment to his mission inviting you to reflect on Jesus example consider the role of Prayer in your own life how can we following Jesus model use prayer to strengthen our relationship with God prepare ourselves for challenges and recognize the Divine work in our lives Jesus often isolated himself in disolated places to pray as reported in Luke 516 if Jesus the son of God felt the need to pray how much more
should we his followers cultivate a life of prayer his example is not just a ritual to follow it's an invitation to develop a personal relationship with God where we can lay down our burdens and find guidance and comfort in the Stillness of our moments with him remember that prayer is a gift a dialogue and an offering of peace to which you are invited to participate reflecting on Jesus's life consider how your own life of prayer aligns with his example may his life inspire you to seek God fervently to listen and to speak to ask and
to submit and through this may you come to know the deep love and presence of God in your daily Journey let's pray Heavenly Father we come to you in Humble adoration recognizing your infinite wisdom and the depth of Your Love which often surpasses human understanding as we contemplate the life of Jesus your son and our savior we reflect on the mystery of his prayers to you Lord Lord we recognize that in Jesus's prayers we see the perfect reflection of humility and dependence just as he looked to you we also lift our eyes and hearts in
prayer seeking guidance strength and a closer relationship with you in Moments When we struggle to understand Divine complexities we ask for simple childlike faith that trusts in your goodness and your plan teach us oh God to emulate Jesus in his attitude of prayer knowing that even being God he leaned into communion with you we are invited to this Sacred Space of conversation and intimacy with you through his example may we understand the importance of prayer as a means to express our love our needs and our gratitude in our daily lives as we Face our own
challenges and joys may we remember Jesus's example that in every moment whether of Triumph or trial we should turn to you in prayer just as he did May his life teach us that in our weaknesses we discover your strength in our doubts we find your wisdom and in our loneliness we feel your comforting presence bless us with the peace that comes from knowing you are always Within Reach hearing the whispered yearnings of our hearts strengthen us with the same spirit that resided in Christ Jesus that in all situations we may have the courage to say
not my will but yours be done in the Holy Name of Jesus we pray Amen in Quiet Moments of reflection have you ever pondered the mystery of Jesus seeking God this reflection is a journey that takes us to the heart of the relationship between Jesus and the father in the gospels we see numerous times Jesus withdrawing from the crowd s the disciples and even the noise of daily life to communicate with God in each of these instances he is not merely performing a ritual but demonstrating a deep and personal need for connection with the father
this aspect of Jesus life invites us to consider our own practice of prayer often we may feel overwhelmed by the demands of Life the expectations of others and even our own insecurities however the example of Jesus shows us that no matter how busy or challenged we are there is always space and need for communion with God Jesus's prayer life was not just about requesting help or guidance although that certainly was a part of it it was also about being in relationship expressing love gratitude and sometimes even anguish and fear his pray In The Garden of
Gethsemane for example reveal a moment of intense inner struggle and surrender he openly shares his desire to avoid the impending pain and suffering But ultimately he submits his will to the fathers this honesty and vulnerability in prayer teach us that we need not mask our true feelings or desires when speaking with God we can bring our Joys Sorrows fears and deepest hopes before him knowing that we are heard and loved moreover Jesus's prayers often included intercessions for others he prayed for his disciples for those who followed him and even for us who would come to
believe in him through the generations this reveals the importance of including others in our prayers reminding us that we are part of a larger Community United by the love and grace of God prayer in jesus' life was an act of continuous alignment with the father's will every moment of communion was a chance to realign his heart and purpose with what God desired this challenges us to use prayer not only as a means of expressing our desires but as a way to discover and submit to God's will in our lives reflecting on why Jesus being God
chose to pray to God we are reminded that prayer is a fundamental expression of our dependency trust and desire to be in a relationship with the Divine it is a practice that strengthens our faith nourishes our soul and keeps us firmly Anchored In God's love and truth therefore as we contemplate jesus' example May each of us be inspired to seek moments of quietude and prayer may we learn to cherish these sacred moments as opportunities for growth healing and deeper connection with God and in doing so may we experience the same peace guidance and strength that
sustained Jesus throughout his Earthly Journey this quest for moments of quietude and prayer as exemplified by Jesus is not just a spiritual practice but also a form of personal care and growth by withdrawing from the noise and pressures of daily life even briefly we can re-calibrate our hearts and Minds to focus on what is eternal and true Jesus's prayer life also teaches us about the relational nature of God God is not a distant or indifferent being to our struggles and joys he is a loving father always ready to listen and respond therefore prayer becomes a
continuous dialogue a constant conversation with a God who knows us intimately and cares deep ly for us moreover the practice of prayer has the power to transform not just our hearts but also our actions by dedicating time to pray we can find Clarity and direction for life's challenges receive wisdom for making tough decisions find strength to face adversity and experience peace that transcends human understanding in other words prayer equips us to live more intentionally and aligned with God's purposes for our lives prayer also plays a vital role in connecting us with the global community of
Believers when Jesus prayed he often included others in his prayers reminding us that we are part of a larger body the church by praying for each other we strengthen these Community bonds carry each other's burdens and participate in God's ongoing work in the world may we respond to this invitation with open and willing Hearts seeking God In Prayer with the same frequency depth and sincerity that Jesus demonstrated and as we do may we increasingly reflect Christ's love wisdom and compassion in our own lives and in the lives of those around us liked what you saw
