hey welcome to this deep Dive Master Class I'm going to be talking about today the most practical way to get your first or next 1,000 subscribers on YouTube in 2025 some of the new changes that have been happening on YouTube and we're going to be unpacking What's called the asq method which is a strategy that we've used not just here on think media to grow over three million subscribers but all kinds of different people in our community have applied this strategy in different niches I'm going to be explaining how to start brand new channels and
to get their first a th000 subscribers and what's really cool is in 2025 some of the different changes in terms of the platform and just the internet in general and AI like this strategy is still one of the most foundational and fundamental tactics that you can use to grow and maybe you're plateaued maybe you've already been doing YouTube for a while you're going to love this training plus there's five mistakes that I'm seeing creators make specifically right now that is hurting growth and we're going to be talking about also monetizing with a small Channel and
you could see how powerful this is if you want to earn a side income or even go full-time and so I'm excited to dive into three simple steps to grow from zero to 1,000 subscribers no fancy equipment needed and if we're just meeting my name is Sean canell I've used what we're going to be talking about today to grow multiple different YouTube channels but I want to kick it off with a story and imagine this imagine if Netflix spent millions of creating shows which they do but they never checked with people to find out what
they actually wanted to watch like think about it before Netflix spends money on a show they do what's called market research or Market validation to figure out if people are interested in the content now sure they have unlimited resources that's a picture of one of the Netflix buildings they have entire production teams but here's the crazy thing many YouTubers make the exact same mistake from their bedroom desk B spend hours perfecting transitions tweaking colors trying to make their videos look just like their favorite creators but they're actually spending so much time and energy on the
wrong things and they wonder why they're getting stuck and not getting views after months or even years of posting the truth is growing on YouTube isn't about having the fanciest editing or the most expensive camera it's about making videos that people are actively searching for like people actually want to see and I'm going to show you a simple strategy to figure out exactly what videos to make to start getting Real views the reason many people struggle to grow on YouTube is because they make the wrong videos and so today we're talking about the asq method
and this is what it stands for it stands for answer specific questions if you want to get your first or next 10,000 subscribers I believe the most practical way to do it is to answer specific questions now this is the first session of a five-day YouTube challenge that we're doing and we're going to be talking about multiple different strategies this isn't the only strategy for YouTube growth but I believe it's one of the most practical and I've got some new insights in today's training that can help you apply this to your channel but let me
ask you what is a question that your ideal YouTube subscriber wants to know this is an interesting question because it informs us that also we should be clear on who our ideal YouTube subscriber is one of the biggest mistakes we can make is trying to reach everybody on YouTube it's often been said that if you try and reach everybody you end up reaching nobody you want to think about man who's my channel for and when you know who your ideal YouTube subscriber is then you think about okay well well what types of topics what what's
a question they have what what is what would they want to see now on our think media channel we help people with the best tools cameras gear lighting and the best tips for starting and growing on YouTube so for example let me give you an example of an asq strategy video somebody might go to the search bar and they're looking for copyright free music music That's not going to hurt monetization or hurt their Channel and so they type in something like what's the best copyright free music like that's the intent that's the question well I
made a video and you can see now what's fascinating is that this video is actually six years old it's gotten 4.3 million views and it still gets seven views every single hour that's the power of an asq video this video is 6 years old but every hour of the day 247 the video is still getting views so we call that a ranked video if that video ranks in search or ranks in suggested on YouTube it keeps getting views now again you might be like okay easy for you to say you've been doing this for a
while you got to Head Start okay but what if you just got 1% of those results we're talking about getting your first a th000 subscribers I think this is a lot more practical than you realize if you start figuring out how do I find these videos how do I make these videos how do I structure these videos which is what we're going to be unpacking over the next few minutes so let's look at the results though of this video this video came out June 11th 2018 the video is now I don't know the math on
that seven years old and it still gets 318 views every two days the video single-handedly has earned $ 39,821 YouTube Partner program this video single-handedly grew my channel 56,000 subscribers so that's why this is good news that if you can figure out how to make some asq videos answer specific questions videos for your channel and if you're watching this and you're thinking but I'm kind of more entertainment that's not really the style of my channel like I don't know how this would work stick with me because this can work for everybody watching this this single
one asq video grew my channel 56,000 subscribers and earn me almost 40 Grand which is insane but it speaks to the fact that if you got 10% of those results one video could grow your channel 5600 subscribers you could get monetized get all the watch hours start making money cross the a thousand subscriber barrier from one video and let's make it even more practical for most of us our first videos are our worst videos all of us actually right we always suck at the start I heard the recipe for YouTube success was this my friend
Ben told me he said it's four steps suck suck success you know you can write that down right it's four steps like your first video was bad my second was worse my third was a little bit better and by the fourth I kind of got the hang of it sometimes it takes even longer than that just when you start putting out these asq type of videos you get five subscribers here 10 subscribers over here but then a video ranks and we'll talk more about what that is so then you start getting five subscribers a month
from one video so then that starts to stack up starts to compound with some of your other videos and so let's break this down we're going to talk about three steps of how to do this to grow from zero to 1 th000 subscribers and by the way if we're just meeting my name is Sean kennel and I love helping people grow profitable YouTube channels um have done this across multiple different niches wrote a book with my friend uh Benji called YouTube secrets and um the second edition is out now but uh today we're going to
be talking about the number one strategy for predictable growth in YouTube in 2025 a simple tool to find video ideas that get views why now is the perfect time to start on YouTube and how I earn $ 39,380 from one video I actually just showed you that but first is it too late to start YouTube Sean in 2025 we're talking about something that you know if you've been around our community I think I've even heard you talk about this a little bit before it's kind of a search-based strategy but here's what I would challenge you
and this was verified by my research verified by Google themselves we're living through an SEO Revival a search search engine optimization Revival we're living through a answer specific questions like renewal and what do I mean because there's been so many people for so long on YouTube that have been making these kind of clickbait titles and these curiosity based titles and but these still work there's still a time and place for it but but eventually it's all a bunch of noise like nobody knows what anybody's talking about and everybody's burnt out by the overhype like let
me know in the comments if you're like yeah kind of tired of the clickbait stuff I'm kind of tired of the overhype especially when the video doesn't deliver on it and so the thing that's different about answer specific questions is why it may not be super sexy or super shiny it's super practical and so in a 20125 environment this strategy is one of the best strategies to master and it's not too late to start let's look at some of the data um right now YouTube continues to grow as of about the time of recording this
there are 2.9 billion monthly active users and this particular study shows kind of the rate of growth mid 2025 it's expected to be around 3. three and a quarter billion with a B people on YouTube so I think we have to face the fact that competition is fiercer than ever before more people want to get into the crater economy than ever before but there's also more demand for good content than ever before consumptions that at alltime High people are discovering YouTube loving watching content on YouTube the demand for good content is skyrocketing now there's also
a massive International opportunity on YouTube YouTube is localized in more than a hundred countries and available in over 80 languages and the Washington Post said this this is a crazy quote the most consequential technology in America is YouTube they said it's the most popular social app music service the healthiest economy on the internet and it's AI training fuel hear that one quote though it's the healthiest economy on the internet the opportunities that YouTube affords from the partner program to the different ways on platform to monetize to now the fact that you could do video podcasting
and short form content YouTube shorts and the community tab experiences evolving and the traditional types of videos on the platform and the integration with YouTube music in terms of podcasting YouTube just continues to evolve it is the dominant it's it has such a crazy lead in terms of just social media as the video sharing platform the future is bright when it comes to YouTube and the financial opportunity on YouTube continues to expand as well Yahoo finance said the crater economy is the fastest growing segment of small business and Goldman Sachs said the crater economy could
approach a half a trillion dollars by 2027 that really means the next two years are going to be the best two years in the crater economy it's going to double in the next two years so the simple truth of the expansion of people having access to smartphones the internet is that competition is going to continue to rise but I think the key thing to understand is what is the rate of growth of the industry it's like if YouTube was kind of on the decline and consumption was on the decline and people were like watching less
but competition was going higher then you would have sort of like the wind in your face you wouldn't have the wind in your sales you'd be the circumstances would be not set up for your advantage but right now this year 2025 competition is fierce but the growth and expansion of the platform is more rapid than ever before for the fact this platform could double in the next two years like I've been doing this a while I got a little bit of gray in my beard First Youtube channel I ever started was for my church in
2007 is it okay to call say call myself an OG I've been doing YouTube for like 20 I mean video for like 22 years YouTube first 18 or something so I've seen things things come and go it is it actually melts my brain to think that what I've seen over the last 18 years could double in the next two think about that what I have personally witnessed over the last 18 years could double in the next two that's a lot of growth that's a lot of momentum that is a strategic time to get positioned to
learn the right skills understand the strategies develop your understanding of you to build your skill set to really capitalize on the fact that YouTube is the is healthy growing and it's the most profitable platform to establish your brand well if you're then starting a new channel or if you're getting back to YouTube after maybe taking a break or life kind of kicked you in the gut you gotta kick in the pants as life does many of us I know sometimes started YouTube maybe a couple years ago and we like got distracted or we had a
few setbacks maybe you're getting back to it how do I revive my channel how do I start growing to a thousand subscribers or Beyond well I believe that the fastest and most predictable way to get a thousand subscribers on YouTube is What's called the asq strategy let's take it a little bit deeper the asq strategy is the most predictable path to YouTube growth the key idea here is to create clear videos that answer specific questions that people search for now let me also encourage you with this this is why YouTube can never be too crowded
well Sean how could would you say that because the world is always changing there's like always new things there's always stuff happening if you start to understand positioning your channel and your videos to capitalize on that there's always 2025 by the way you want a tactic and a strategy put 2025 in your T title that's because it's a new year so like what are the changes now maybe you're in business of some kind how is the real estate market now and that's not even yearly it's like weekly or monthly what are some of the new
trends in your industry what are some of the changes around your channel see people will always want new content and so there will always be an opportunity for the brand new Creator to get in front of what people are searching for now there's always new things happening there's always new shows I don't know what are you watching right now like like please tell me in the comments are you watching Severance season 2 Silo season 2 Apple's been killing it like with some of these Apple Originals I don't know about you if you've been watching Silo
but I read those books Hugh Hoy independent author distracted a little bit right now but uh pretty crazy not only how well those books did but now those books are like being revived with the TV show so I I always watch like Recaps season one recap episode one recap EP you know 30 Easter eggs you didn't see there's always new shows there's always new tips there's always new strategies but one of the most underrated skill sets for Content creators is your ability to actually take a lot of some of the same information when you get
maybe tired or fatigued with your own Niche and and and learn how to package it and bring a freshness to it because that's the key to YouTube success like what is people searching for now what do people want now and what how can you jump on that and answer their specific questions this is the exact strategy that so many of our members and our community but then also our students have used to grow very successful YouTube channels and we get in our private group people share with us all the time about the results they're getting
even getting 100,000 subscribers from the asq strategy but I want to talk about the three simple steps to grow from zero to a th YouTube subscribers with no fancy equipment the other reason I love this strategy is if all you got is your smartphone it's enough if all you've got is like kind of fingerprinted oily like this has been I need to clean this off like how gross is your phone right now ladies how much makeup is on your phone is it time to wipe your phone off and clean it up a little bit okay
relax um but ultimately three step steps to grow you can do this and I will prove it to you without fancy gear without fancy equipment here we go step one smart creators use tools to find what viewers are searching for before recording intelligent YouTube creators use tools to find what viewers are searching for before they press record and make the video before making the video they get Fierce Clarity on the exact topic and even title that they should make before recording let's look at a story so Mary is uh one of our video ranking Academy
students and she is a former New Yorker now living the simple life with her sweet husband in the Texas Hill Country and she is a content creator she loves traditional cooking bone broths ferments sourdough and she wanted to share her passion on YouTube showing people how to be a modern pioneer in the kitchen no matter where you live but she didn't know how to start right so she didn't know how to start didn't know how to make videos didn't know how to do all the YouTube things didn't know all the things and all the stuff
but eventually she got the courage we say punch fear in the face and press record she now says you got to just put the apron on she films in her kitchen she's like you got to put the apron on it's my ritual it's the thing I do to to punch fear in the face put my apron on press record and not be overly critical of myself I'm just gonna I'm just gonna make the video and so she started to use the asq strategy as one of her core strategies why well because YouTube is the second
largest search engine in the world people are looking for answers to their specific questions for example one of the videos she made was how to make apple cider vinegar with the mother now if anybody's into bizarre biohacking natural living wellness type drinks like apple cider vinegar you know that the mother is that that like slimy creature that starts to grow inside of the apple cider vinegar from like the yeast and other things it's like Alien Resurrection like we don't know what even what's happening but apparently it's good for you and uh ultimately she puts this
video out now notice the video is five years old and has almost a million views answering a specific question like how to make homemade apple cider vinegar with the mother DIY from scratch recipe act absolutely Chang Mary's life from using this one strategy and what she did was she created a video answering a specific question that people were actively searching for well she kept doing it over and over and over again and again when you first start out your first couple times like if the video doesn't hit or it doesn't work that doesn't mean the
strategy is flawed that's like saying you know Sean I gave you a basketball and you just shot airballs all day it doesn't mean basketballs don't work right it means my skill set and arm strength and form needs some improvement so sometimes there's something about like learning some fundamentals but then also just putting the time in you know like put in the Reps a little bit like don't be overly judgy of your first couple videos sometimes you got to practice a little bit it's like your First videos not the best but they can get better and
here's what's crazy is now Mary's over a million subscribers she started YouTube when she was 60 years old side know there is like a massive wave of like 40 50 60 plus year old creators right now there's a huge audience of people that aren't going to watch a 19-year-old life coach like they are looking for people that have some life experience and some Wiz wisdom and there's whole communities forming I just want to encourage you Gen X baby boomer content creator wave is like spreading on the Earth right now and so Mary not only hit
a million subscribers she started YouTube when she was 60 didn't know how to do any of the stuff now she's 65 and it's been while she got a book deal all because of starting with answering specific questions and even more than that she's been able to impact people like her passion is to really preserve traditional cooking skills and to find Joy Living as a modern pioneer and so all the different lives she's impacted you think about the power of YouTube and here's the truth 70% of viewers use YouTube to help them solve a problem so
this is where your pen needs to meet paper what questions are your ideal audience searching for on YouTube what are the spefic specific questions now what I found and this this is the first session of a five-day Challenge and every day we're going to challenge you to do the work do the research there's a reason this is called answer specific questions it's not answer questions there's a that s is a big deal because the specific part is the idea that you want to get really granular this is how you beat the competition like for example
if you were to say uh you know I'm a fitness person I'm going to help people lose weight so I'm going to make a video called how to lose weight bad idea that is a question for sure but it is not a specific question better would be how to lose weight for women over 40 atome workouts no weights required that particular phrase was probably longer even than a YouTube title but that's when you know you're on to good ideas because you're trying to cut through the noise you're trying to stand out like this particular tactic
is how we're going to get our first 10 subscribers our first 100 subscribers our first a thousand subscribers well Sean isn't there other stuff there's some other things I've heard too this is one of 16 strategies we we go in depth in and what we'll be talking about in our challenge I'm trying to share with you the practical way to get started because let's get your first few views let's get your first few subscribers let's practically attract your ideal Audience by mastering the skill of answering specific questions let me actually tell you how I kind
of stumbled over this and learned this with my story of answering specific questions see I grew up an hour north of Seattle on six acres my childhood was mud manure and endless chores you know the High School Arlington High School for me the hallways were packed with cool kids wearing car heart not like today by the way where it's trendy for Suburban girls with pump pumpkin spice lattes to wear carart beanies back then the kids wore carart because they actually worked um and did real labor like if you know what Future Farmers of America is
then you understand my high school and I always felt like I didn't fit in because I was a weird mix of farm boy who loves skate culture punk rock and underground hip-hop and while other kids at my high school talked tractors I dreamed about dropping a turbo in my 1994 Honda Civic sometimes though I learn that not fitting in pushes you to create your own path and I'm super grateful for some of those hard lessons that I learned and for me video actually came into my life unexpectedly I volunteered at my church youth group and
the youth pastor handed me a video camera and video editing software I had zero CL clue what I was doing but something clicked video by video I started learning and even though those videos were terrible I realized that every is figureoutable and that's one of my core beliefs everything is figureoutable if I'm going to keep learning I'm going to keep searching I'm going to keep developing I'm going to keep practicing everything is figureoutable and eventually we started a YouTube channel for the church which gave me even more experience and I finally mustered the courage to
make not just church videos but to get on YouTube for myself in fact eventually when I started my own channel I uh posted my first video let me just play you a little clip of this all right so uh this is I guess the first Sean thanks Vlog and uh I'm going to try to Vlog every single day um mainly so I can remember what I'm even doing um and what's going on cuz I just feel like I have a lot that I'm thinking about and I figured hey why not share it and if you
find something interesting that's awesome now this is definitely uh as real as it gets so I'm not going to try to be energetic or entertain pain in um though maybe sometimes I will but anyways uh I I hope that was encouraging for you to see my pain and my process and you know by the way uh this is my first video that I posted on my personal Channel my Sean canel Channel and there's a lot of lessons in this video that I actually can point out what's so funny to me is clearly I um I
did enough planning to figure out that I was going to have kind of like a white sheet you you know sort of clean up my background I look back and I'm like Sean why didn't you put up your background this was your first video this was the inaugural Voyage this is your Genesis account bro like this might be a good time but no I didn't put my background up now here's another thing to write down what is the elevator pitch for your YouTube channel if you had 20 seconds 15 seconds to talk to somebody and
give them a compelling and good reason of why they should subscribe to your Channel what benefit there would be for them what they can expect what would you say what's so funny to me is that my elevator pitch at my first video ever was textbook the worst elevator pitch anybody could ever say can you imagine like so I run into somebody they're like oh you're starting YouTube I'm like yeah they're like well I'd love to check your channel out can you tell me what it's about and I'm like well I got a couple promises for
you here's my first one I promise you this content is not going to be entertaining I'm going to put no energy into this there's going to be no entertainment value no energy really no effort is the first thing that I'm going to promise you so you might want to hit the Subscribe button secondly there's no planning going into this so I mean if you felt like there was going to be like a level of Excellence as opposed to laziness it's not going to be that like I am not there's no planning no energy no effort
this is as good as it gets so smash the like button and turn on notifications for more of this all right so I hope I hope you're encouraged because I mean look at me now Mom you know come a long way started from the bottom and now we're here and so your first videos they might be bad and you can learn a lot of lessons from my mistakes uh but there's actually two insights I discovered about success on YouTube and I think both of these are important and worth writing down number one start before you're
ready was I ready then I mean maybe but the my first shot wasn't was kind of a a airball you know uh brick it you know and so there's something though about starting even before you feel ready or before you get everything right I've learned that you cannot steer a parked car and that ready is a lie because if we wait until we're ready we'll wait the rest of our lives never feel ready your first you know you'll be rough around the edges but once you start getting moving you know you could approve as you
go and oftentimes I feel like 2025 World especially with so many algorithms that just keep us stuck scrolling like stop scrolling and stop start posting make it a goal in 2025 to even try to create more than you consume because sometimes we feel like just consuming information like we're actually being productive and it is good to learn and it is good to level up but where things get really interesting is when we actually start posting content that's when the lessons really go deep that's why I look back at that video and I think it's amazing
because I got moving the video was bad but it was the first step in a series of steps that led me to all kinds of discoveries and eventually to where I'm full-time today and was able to you know support my family and expand think media beyond my wildest streams it all happened because I started before I was ready but the second big thing is you got to commit to learning new skills here's the truth if I would have stayed at that skill level you would not be watching this right now if I would have stayed
at that skill level and just maintain if I if I maintain the core promise of my original Channel hey what what's your YouTube channel about no entertainment no education no value no planning and no effort hit subscribe it's not going to build an audience so there's also I think some people say like hey just be consistent like if you just just keep being consistent eventually it'll work out no it won't not if you are consistently crappy I just made a channel that just consistently sucks you got to improve you got to get better you've got
to learn new skills you've got to be self-aware enough not hard on yourself so that you get paralyzed not some weird like oh I'm just the worst I'm just such a you can't you have to have a positive and optimistic mindset but also a practical mindset that yeah I don't deserve views yet I I need to I can improve and I need to improve I need to invest in my learning practice put in the Reps but I actually start to develop real skills which happens on the other side of starting getting moving and then continuing
to skill up and learn and so I did that I I started to learn and thought start the big aha was like maybe I should um make videos people care about and not just sit around and and just be like hey I'm going to share some thoughts this is as good as a gift this is just real as it gets Sean's thoughts day I did that for like 10 20 30 more videos and they all failed by the way which makes sense so instead I I discovered the asq method I discovered that the internet is
a place that people ask for specific questions to be answered they ask for answers to specific problems so when I was working at Red Robin a burger place fries burgers this was actually a photo from Halloween I didn't actually have long black hair at the time but it was a Halloween shift I was working so I was Wayne from Wayne's World and uh on my way to work I filmed some videos for my channel and one of the videos I filmed was how to get started in video production and video editing because at that time
for my church and now actually for a video production business called Clear Vision media I had been making videos for um I've been doing video production and video editing and building of video editing PC and learning all these skills for a while so I thought I would take the thing that I had life experience in and help people on the internet with it and you can see that like I mean even this is a real screenshot from the video I had a Ford Taurus and I had my Droid X phone mounted on the sketchiest mount
and that was the best angle I could have got like look at where the shot composition is like imagine if I was doing this entire training from like right here like I'm just like all right hey welcome I'm not even in focus now hey uh yo this is how you build this is how you get started at video production like why is why is Sean in the corner of the shot right this video got 7,000 views though it tells you that it's not necessarily about the fancy equipment but about the information because I had some
valuable stuff to say at this point I want to say I've been doing video for seven years right and so made this video started to answer specific spefic questions and I want to share a tool with you okay well how do I find good video ideas well one of my favorite ways to do it is free and it's on YouTube itself and once you learn this you start to like think a little bit different what you do is you can go to the YouTube search bar and you could type in how to get started with
video editing now what happens here this is called Auto predict this is called YouTube finishes your sentence and Google finish is your sentence so you start seeing that okay YouTube now now watch how to get started in video editing there's a video idea but if we go a little bit deeper how to get started streaming video games these are specific questions or specific Search terms and what is YouTube telling us it's telling us from the top to the bottom with the most search at the top with the fewer searches at the bottom how to get
started in real estate videography now that is an answer specific question how to get started in a wedding videography but it gets a little bit deeper because if I'm like okay video editing let's say now watch this you can go before pressing underscore Space video editing app video editing laptop video editing cap cut software course now if we go before the underscore this works best by the way on desktop you can do it on phone but on desktop you get a little bit better answers more Rich answers you could go before video editing type A
and it's going to give you everything that has like a before it you could go B it'll give you Boll video editing b-roll video editing B type Etc and you could go see you could go through the entire alphabet then furthermore you could also go video editing space after for beginners app tips and then you could go deep on any of these you could go app for iPhone that is a specific question different than video editing apps for Android Right video editing app without watermark so maybe the intent is that people want a free app
but they want to have a free app that doesn't have the watermark video editing app for iPad now here's the thing as your channel gets bigger and has more influence sometimes you can take down bigger Giants and you might be able to make a more broad appeal video and you certainly could experiment with that at the start but where things get really interesting is when you get really specific that's why this is the asq strategy answer specific questions so how to get started video editing how to get started video production and what you want to
start thinking about is you start realizing like well there's all kinds of different angles and all kinds of different ways I could go with this as I start to learn about the different tools we had a quick tip today where we talked about other tools like answerthepublic.com and also ask.com there's so many different ways you can find good video ideas but the huge key here is that you're verifying interest in a particular topic before you even press record so you're not just making random videos where you're not energetic or entertaining and you have no plan
we're making a plan ahead of time okay and so what you could do is use the tool of the YouTube search bar and start it's not just how to by the way right you you you start typing in your topic you can work on it from the front of your topic the back of your topic with that underscore strategy and rewatch this part right if you want to study this a little bit more but I kept tripling down on this there's another video I filmed on the way to work which let me just encourage you
like you can do this and figure this out with your current schedule I get it you got school you got kids you got drama you got trauma you got all kinds of things like you can you can do this it's like I improve my videos as I went but I found a way mounted my phone on my Dash figured out okay got my idea made a little sticky note of what the points were stick that next to it keep my eyes on the road hey and it's like you're talking to a friend right we're just
doing a phone call you know you just you're on your friend calls you 9 minute conversation hey man I'm thinking about building a video editing PC this is the mindset to think about don't worry about what is the internet gonna think the internet's not going to watch your first video right there's not a lot of people there you wish the internet watched It's crickets think about the one person you want to help my friend you're thinking about building a video editing PC there's a few things I think about oh yeah I'd set your hard drives
up like this I'd set up this where you're going to hold your files and you know oh okay and then I made a video how to record skyp interviews and little by little I started to figure out answering specific questions now I've also done this in multiple niches one of the biggest one of the interesting things that's happening today is there's a lot of YouTube gurus who've only had success teaching about YouTube which is you know I respect don't hate the player hate the game you know what I mean but like people can do what
they want I just would be thoughtful about who you follow and who you listen to have they gotten success in different niches different Industries multiple times over or are they just you know teaching like how to YouTube content and that's the only way they ever got views personally I was wanting to be a player coach that had gotten results and earned even six figures in non youube education niches in non YouTube advice and so there's lots of different experiments I would do answering specific questions like for example this video single-handedly earned over $20,000 in session
five of our YouTube challenge we're going to be talking about these different monetization strategies this video is about best greens powder which is a question a specific question people have would be what is the best greens powder Health weirdos like me that are into biohacking on the road like to drink green juice and so I also scratched my own itch of I'm always looking for answers to questions I'm curious and thinking that maybe there's other people are looking for the same and then there's ways to monetize these videos and again we're going to go really
deep on this in session number five of our Challenge and if you're watching this on the think media live stream I encourage you to register if you care about the rest of the sessions there's going to be four more after this tube 1K challenge.com is where you can register for that if you happen to be watching the replay of this there might be a waiting list or you can go uh to that link in the description or show notes to check that out as well all right step number two start with simple videos that are
easy to create this is the most practical and predictable way to get your first or next 1,000 subscribers and I actually want to challenge you that we can get more complex over time I mean think about what's on your wish list for gear do you dream of having a cool Studio someday maybe upgrading your house maybe redoing your basement building a studio do you have an Amazon wish list you know I know like we're always think thinking about I know early on one of the things that kind of kept me even stuck was I would
procrastinate making videos because I thought there was like a lens that I needed before I I made the video I was like I actually want to get like that 16 millimeter Sigma lens before I shoot my next video and what that was was actually fear like putting off once I get the best better camera once I get the gear once I my I clean up you know my background once once my once my kids grow up and get out of the house I'll be ready oh depending on how old they are it might take a
while you know once I resolve that relationship conflict once I like there's something about yes you can upgrade and level up over time but but start now and start with what you have and I just proved it to you I started with the smartphone I had and I mean I'm sure there might have been like good dash cam mounts but I just remember I like that's why I was so messed up in the shot it was like some weird like metal I made like the sketchiest phone mount but it was like with stuff in my
garage I got have to buy anything I didn't have to wait I know Amazon Prime depending on where you live you're like well I get have the thing I need here in four hours okay whatever but just grab your phone like get what just get started and start with simple videos that are easy to create because if you're making the right videos about the right topics with the right information let me prove it to you from one of our students this this is one of my favorite stories so Weber Enthusiast okay grilling smoking barbecue Channel
made an asq video are you ready for this here's the video how to remove salt grinder top save money easy the easy way to refill disposable salt and pepper shakers he got 90 7,000 views from how to remove salt grinder top okay like you're probably overthinking this now I know there's all kinds of cool complex videos you can make and you're trying to like unlock the secrets of the universe you know you're like some faith-based Channel you're like we're going to unpack like the deepest Hebrew words of the Torah we're gonna unpack the ancient Secrets
you're like okay but how about like how to study your Bible for beginners you know what I mean how about like best Bible highlighter pen for that doesn't bleed through the pages okay like what's your Niche you know how to remove salt grinder top and now I hope you're offended because I I could give you a thousand examples of videos you wished you made that you're like that's so dumb and so simple why didn't I think of that and the reason you didn't think about it is because a lot of times we overthink think and
we make things overly complex don't get me wrong there's levels to the game and and like as our YouTube career evolves yeah there is Advanced levels and different types of videos but what's so cool about the asq strategy is using the smartphone you already have getting clear on some of the research you're going to do figuring out how to title and outline your videos but just put them out there you know you can then get a few subscribers and a few views and then stack that and compound that because a lot of times I mean
sometimes we get like travel vloggers in our community and they're like I'm so pumped I'm about to start my channel we just got back from vacation we filmed I have at least 10 or 20 hours of footage I brought my drone I I filmed my GoPro I had my DJI I'm so excited and I'm like that footage is never going to see the light of day isn't it true there's at least one person watching this when you're like that's true I filmed my whole vacation there's nothing I did with it it was too complex it's
too much you you filmed too much there's you don't even know what to do with it also especially if you aren't like pretty leveled up in terms of even being being able to handle like lots of footage and like what's the story and like what's the narrative and like how am I gonna it's too complex like you can skill up to that level but there's something about starting before you're starting simple with simple videos come on there's somebody that just there's twoo there's footage on your computer enjoy moment Lifestyles like yep I mean it doesn't
have to be like you traveled it's just like you over filmed and years of content is sitting on your hard drive meanwhile Weber Enthusiast got 97,000 views with a one minute and 42 second video on how to remove the salt grinder top like you can make some simple videos okay with your smartphone and I want to encourage you you are one asq video away from really changing your life and your business this is Andrew finny I love this shot because this is like today fancy Studio got the nice mic cool Vibes got the cool lighting
he's a real estate agent helps you make sense of real estate but it's not where he started the second step is start with simple videos where he started is on like a $20 web cam that with with no special microphone framed up kind of weird like here's a tip like you I mean it looks fine but usually like this is like perfect shot composition right now meaning you want your head a little bit closer to the top of the frame as opposed to centering your face this is a mistake a lot of people make they
Center their face because they think like oh my face is probably centered in the video no like like this is you want to get a nice shot comp here's the point it doesn't matter though okay because look at look at how many views Andrew got on this video 126,000 why because the title and the content six questions to ask when buying a new construction home huh that's super helpful like I'm about to buy a new construction home I want to know the six questions I should ask I'm not like judging this video thinking that this
needs to be the quality of Disney's The Mandalorian and have a production budget the size of Netflix and Hulu combined I'm just looking for the information because great content and real value matter more than perfect visuals and this what's crazy is this video gets 7 views per hour that's 17 views a day the video is six years old did I just go through puberty that's just how just like reverted back oh it's voice just cracked congratulations Sean okay step three here we go right catch titles that make viewers want to click if there's a skill
set though that really matters for this to work in a 2025 world you got to write catchy titles that make viewers want to click okay write catchy titles that make viewers want to click understand the search aspects of the titles search engine optimization let's illustrate this so Larry Larry uh again these are stories of our video raet Academy students is a chartered financial analyst he face a lot of challenges on his journey for several several years he struggled with comparing himself to others and then he finally failed the level three CFA exam a couple times
which caused him to get passed up for a job promotion so he was super discouraged and ultimately though through perseverance confidence developing his skills he he wanted to step out and thought like man maybe I should do a pivot like that setback in his life was like his inspiration to to step out onto YouTube and to step out as an online entrepreneur and maybe I could start a side hustle maybe I could be a Creator so he posted his first video and it wasn't fcy big point right create simple videos with the gear that you
have and he just kind of filmed in his office but he started to answer specific questions and he also really mastered titles now here's the thing over six months his first six months on YouTube he got 53,000 subscribers 900,000 views and he only posted 13 videos and again let me challenge you niches are different people start at different places they have different professional skill sets that might translate well to YouTube Here's the point though we're talking about how to get your first a thousand subscribers Larry got 53,000 subscribers in six months I can help you
get 10 20 30 100 subscribers can we set some goals like if you keep following the tips we're sharing here if you're bold and you start uncomfortable if you also stick through the other challenge sessions you can get a thousand subscribers we're going to get your Channel monetized but here's one of the videos he did is it possible to live off dividends well that would be a specific question and a guide to Dividend growth and he's very clear about how he structured his title nice and clean because remember we want to talk about clickable titles
we want to tap into the questions people are asking what are they searching for two-year-old video got 100,000 views here's another one best inflation stocks so think about it the question is what are the best inflation stocks but that doesn't mean that that ends up being the exact title of your video so with our research tools we're going to identify the specific topic we're looking for but then we need to step into craft the title mode okay do we need to really have the question in there can we make it more concise can we lead
with best inflation stocks cool and then it goes on my mega profit plan from inflation to secure the is a CFA people aren't searching for secure the bag in relation to inflation stocks which also speaks to how cool areas because that is a much more interesting way of titling this video but it's hitting a little bit of both it's hitting a little bit of Personality it's hitting a little bit of uniqueness so it stands out but it's also hitting that anchored search engine optimized first three words by the way this video got 1.2 million views
like what are we talking about and listen 86% of us viewers say they often use YouTube to learn new things so applying the asq strategy and there's some of us on here too where you're like but you know but my Niche is it's not really about like learning things though it's it's like it's like my video diary about my thoughts well good luck with that but maybe the power of this strategy could cause you to consider to rethink your entire approach this is your to YouTube is your tube to do what you want to do
on the platform but you're not entitled to views or results if you understand that 86% of us viewers say they often use YouTube to learn new things you might say man how could I position in fact on session number two we are going to talk about your perfect YouTube strategy how to identify the exact topic how to be different how to stand out in a crowded world so that's session two in the challenge we'll be talking about kind of finding your niche and for a lot of us I might even say most you might need
to Pivot or change your Niche if you really want to have success I've just been doing this a long time and I found that to be a consistent theme that sometimes you're positioned in the wrong channel topic and you might want to consider repositioning your channel topic well fast forward to today Larry hit that 100,000 subscribers got the silver play button how he answered specific questions he wasn't overly concerned about production value he was concerned about uh the content value helping his viewers learn new things helping his viewers solve a problem but he also mastered
titles and then side note you know during this challenge just heads up uh some of you took advantage of our YouTube starter kit inside of that we have the 15 best YouTube title formulas for getting views as just one of the resources in the starter kit so if you purchase that when you join the challenge which by the way the free five-day challenge is free but there are a couple upgrades right you could do the starter kit or you could VIP totally optional but if you passed on that and you still want to get a
hold of the starter kit you can check that out at tub starter kit.com um that's just one of the resources in there but tub starter kit.com is where um a bunch of cool things that'll help you grow further faster on YouTube in 2025 and I'll make sure that's linked up in the description as we land a plane here's the fact you don't need millions of views to succeed on YouTube smart monetization strategy IES can generate significant income with a smaller more engaged audience I just got a report back from one of our students her name
is Stacy and she did a live stream on her Channel it got 829 views 829 now if you're chasing YouTube ad money that's not a lot of views even if your Channel's monetized it's not it's G to she made $2 you know what I mean in YouTube ads not even probably she made a dollar she made $64 cents I don't know the exact number you know here's what's crazy though she told me a message and she said I did a live stream this is the live stream I booked a call and I closed a $15,000
offer so she made $15,000 off of this one video now the secret behind that is is she's a business owner she has created a bigger online business that has different ways of monetizing not relying on YouTube ads I can't unpack that whole thing but I just want to speak to the fact that what some of us sit around waiting for is we sit around waiting for a viral video thinking that's the key to full-time I would challenge you that maybe actually thinking different about your approach and creating a money plan that does not depend on
YouTube ad revenue is going to be the key to going full-time faster or for existing business owners you understand the power of getting leads and Prospects and building your business way more so than just your influence on YouTube and you don't need a big audience to make significant income in 2025 again we're going to unpack this more and session number five but just kind of cool to see that again one asq video can generate significant impact even if the videos don't go viral so here's the question to write down what is a specific question you
could answer on your YouTube channel a specific question you could answer on your YouTube channel and now that you know exactly how to find the questions your audience is asking to create simple videos they want to watch and write titles that make them want to quit click let me ask you something else what if the only thing standing between you and your YouTube dreams isn't the strategy but it's the story you're telling yourself about why you can't start today you know when I started I was telling myself the same stories there I am on the
way to work in my for tus I didn't have the perfect setup I did not have enough time and I didn't feel ready but I learned it's not about your resources it's about your resourcefulness and I started recording videos in my car on the way to work how can you figure this out in your schedule how can you figure this out in your routine I didn't have a fancy setup no perfect lighting just a phone a message and the courage to press record you know I've learned that you don't have to see the full staircase
you just have to take the first step and after helping thousands of creators the ones who succeeded aren't the ones with the Best Equipment they're the ones who started before they're ready and I want to ask you this question who is waiting for you to show up and take your goals seriously you know sometimes our small YouTube channel can make us small-minded and we can't even imagine who might be waiting on the other side of us being bold and brave and taking that step of posting our first video on YouTube or our next video on
YouTube you know I could have never imagined from filming videos in my car to eventually having the lights and the gear and the camera and all the different stuff and ultimately turning a small YouTube channel into a business that impacts thousands the truth is one courageous decision changed everything and when I fast forward to today I'm like this is crazy not just our subscribers or our students but I think about the think media team what started as simple YouTube videos has grown into something bigger than myself a team of incredible people who help support their
families and their kids being in school and who are building their dreams it isn't just a company it's a community of providers creators and dreamers and our students the real magic watching our students generate over 25.6 billion views which we meticulously track earn silver play buttons build channels that support their families their courage to start before they were ready has changed not their lives but the millions of people who watch their videos and right now someone out there is searching on YouTube for help they're searching for answers they're searching for Education they're searching for entertainment
they're waiting for your video to appear in search results they're waiting for you to share what you know and to be bold and to press record and so my question for you today is will you have the courage to press record this strategy works you have the asq strategy the only question left is will you have the courage to press record today let's recap session number one today we learned to stop waiting for perfect your audience is searching for you right now we learned to use Simple tools to discover exactly what videos your audience wants
before you press record and we learned that your first videos don't need to be perfect they just need to be helpful one of our convictions at think media is that commitment is the foundation of all Great accomplishments and if you're watching this live or on the replay just type all in in the comments just type Allin and and it's one thing to jump into YouTube and to press recording your first video but I also want to challenge you this is challenge number one of our Fay challenge this is day number one commit to go to
all the sessions if you're going to do anything see this through because there's a lot more to learn there's a lot more mindset training as well as tactical tips that are going to help you on the journey but we need commitment to take notes to follow through to not quit halfway there and we need commitment macro on YouTube there's a lot of discouragement ahead it's like preparing your mind to know like man sometimes I edit for seven hours and I only get seven views and like having the mental toughness to realize like this stuff takes
time but we're taking one step at a time we're planting seeds and having the patients to watch them grow and in session number two you're going to learn a proven framework that unlocks consistent Channel growth and transforms viewers into loyal subscribers it's going to be really fun fun I can't wait to get to session number two and again if you're on the think media live stream this is the only live this is the only session we're streaming publicly on YouTube to get the next four sessions you got to go to tube 1K challenge.com we'll link
that up in the show notes in the description as well if you want to register you can still get in and that's also how you get access to the giveaways and how you get access to the software and the tech we're giving away so don't miss it we have four more sessions we have a quick tip every day the main session a bunch of surprise is it's going to be a lot of fun
