hey what's up think media Omar alakori here and I have with me Nolan molt we are at Anderson studios here in Las Vegas and wanted to get together and talk about a little bit of YouTube we want to help you in your YouTube Journey check out this statistic because a lot of people would say you know I'm I don't know if I should start if it's worth my time to even get into YouTube this year this would probably not help as of as of 2022 there are 113 million YouTube channels that is a ton of
channels and you know people always they're wondering like is it worth it because it does take time to start a YouTube channel and it's going to take money energy all this stuff and so at the end of the day people want to know like if I start a YouTube channel is it going to be worth it in the end and is is there even room for me to to make a name for myself on YouTube my short answer is yes there's still opportunity and so a little bit of backstory like I started a YouTube channel
over a year ago from scratch you know zero subscribers now it's at around 50,000 subscribers and it's it's made almost $50,000 in the past year it's awesome so I'm like that that's that's something that actually I'm like yes it's definitely possible now I've been doing YouTube for a long time Y and so on the other hand of it I do feel like there are a lot of great YouTube channels out there it is a little bit harder to just break through um you kind of have to like know what you're doing you have to be
committed to learning the the game of YouTube and so I mean I guess I want to ask you like someone is like okay there is opportunity but what do I need to know to make the the path easier yeah like what what should I focus on is it the editing is it the thumbnails like what what would you tell that person who hasn't even started yet what do they need to do the way you make YouTube easy is by making it easy I know that's like not that helpful but like we often times are heart
aholics and we we we try to hard and we make things hard for ourselves so here's my thing if you would consider something being your obstacle there's a stumbling block or there's something that would keep you from being consistent at uploading at least one video a week I would say that's a really good place to start uploading one video a week if you feel like the editing is not allowing you to do that dude chill chill out on the edits if you feel like the thumbnail thing is chill out on the thumbnail like like you
actually have the opportunity to create your experience around YouTube it doesn't have to look like somebody else is I know often times that's what we want to do or that's what we think we have to do but if you could um if you could be self-aware enough to know that there are these certain things that are getting in my way make it easy for yourself um when it when it comes the reason why you bring up title thumbnail and editing and stuff because there at a level it is there's importance there but we've seen creators
grow that have kind of broken the rules you know and even creators at the highest level sometimes are breaking those rules and so I I think just um making it easier for yourself in the sense that you don't need to be the one doing everything um you know even when it comes to well Omar just coming up with titles are just really hard well you know when you're browsing YouTube keep a stash of titles you know I I love create a playlist create a playlist and save them to like titles I like that's what I
do titles you like and they don't even have to be titles for the type of videos you're making you're like dude this the way this reads I can Rec contextualize this title I do that all the time with article headlines you know when when I'm trying to find a a a I usually take literally book headlines and you know article headlines and I tweak it so I'm I am I'm staying inspired but being a I guess another thing I would say about making YouTube easier for you is being a a consumer of it like actually
be on the platform actually understand the culture of it you know like yeah and so that you wouldn't be so that that makes it easy I I mean a a lot of people ask me what do I watch you know when I'm chilling do I watch Netflix do I watch what show am I binging do I literally watch YouTube and it's not because I'm a psycho it's just because I genuinely enjoy it and so I'd say if we had to break down like YouTube into stages for someone wanting to to grow like stage one is
like just start and you like make it easy and I love that because don't overthink the editing like don't edit just literally just start that's phase one I look at Phase I think another cool word to use is season like determine this season of your approach on YouTube or phase to be like a discovery season and it it would relieve a lot of pressure yeah like don't don't overthink anything like experiment with different types of videos experim like don't even Niche down yet like literally just get familiar with holding a camera up talking to it
and then like publishing it online that's like a great place to start and so I think people yeah they just it's information over like I need my Niche I need to learn how to edit I need to get uh you know a Sony zv1 it's like no just grab your phone like like make it easy I love that advice I think the next step can I back up real quick I do think before that season there is a pred decision that needs to be made that like that you are G to commit a season to
it and maybe somebody's like well how long should I give I would ask you the question yeah if somebody's decided like hey this year I want to take YouTube serious how long would you tell them to go for until it's like either try something new or dude just forget about assuming they knew nothing about YouTube yeah here I would I would I hate this answer but I'd be like why are you doing it is the goal like is this your dream in life is to be a YouTuber and like have your own business where you
use YouTube if that's the case like why would I tell you to try it for a year and like give up on your dreams so because I truly believe too that like like you you can make it work and it and it's going to for some people it's going to be a lot quicker I'm like dude give it three months and then like in three months like maybe it's not working you know pivot a little thing but it's like don't give up yeah I I wouldn't maybe you know so it it depends on the time
frame but like if you I do think there is something powerful like I started doing keto and so there is something powerful like dude thank you for saying that um there is something powerful about like committing for a time frame but also knowing like once I get to the so for me I'm like I'm going to go to the end of the year doing keto right and I don't know it's going to be like two months or whatever maybe three it's like that one once I get to that point I'm going to make a new
decision on where to go next but like I'm just kind of focused on the first part of the race so like if you're starting a YouTube channel can you commit to like over these next four weeks I'm gonna post one video every single week and once you get to the end of that like you might give up but at least you committed instead of overwhelming with yourself to be like th in 2024 yeah every single week for the rest of the year I'm going to post YouTube videos you know for me that's not as helpful
so I just think it's like how can you just get started and then move on and just take baby steps it's really good I don't know if you'd add anything no I think the fitness journey is a good illustration people who want to expedite their success cuz that's where a lot of this you know a lot of these types of videos where people are talking about this subject is in a pursuit of speed of success I'm just trying to get to my goal faster which oftentimes in the uh Fitness space you supplement and so you
know I have I had a friend that actually got super fit this year I'm like so jealous because I'm like dude you look like an action figure but and um dude he he was like hey here's all these things I use and they're not bad they're just supplements creatine you know protein all that stuff and the thing is is if you start out that way if you start out overloading like that that you know not only will you have to SU that and it'll it'll make it more harder to continue and be consistent but like
it's kind of like the Habit like so this is why I say remove all those obstacles because build the habit of it being normal like it's normal that I create videos I would you know that when you when people ask you the question like what do you do for you know work and living is like I I'm a content creator who has a real estate business I'm a content creator who sells something you know and I I think I think that's the goal you know even though you have probably a weight loss goal the goal
is a lifestyle decision yeah because health is wealth you know I love that I think so first step like commit make a commitment pred decide pred decide the next step is like literally just post a video and the reason why we're saying just post a video is because YouTube gives you the feedback yeah and so like if like if you did it for 90 days you would hypothetically have what like 12 videos so YouTube is going to tell you hey I I I mean maybe a video would take off or like you'll you'll see what's
either resonating look at the views yeah this got more views people are more interested in this right that that's one factor you could look at so after you just start posting content you're starting to get feedback I think the next step is if you haven't done this yet is to like have a channel Focus or to Niche down good and that would be like the next step and so once you find what you want to do and it's you know you're passionate about it and and all that stuff right I think after that is where
people can see a lot of growth and it's investing into this is kind of what I was asking you too but I think um I think the first investment I would make if I if I didn't know anything about YouTube I would get a very cheap thumbnail designer so just a quick example of how this actually gets you more views um there's this NBA player played for the Pacers and Roy Hibert so I did a coaching call with him for YouTube for his YouTube channel and he only had like four videos and he was doing
everything himself he's editing his videos he NBA player did everything himself doing everything himself he just he dude he took action and was like I just want to start making YouTube videos so he's like following these steps he picked his Niche now this is I was like what's his next step in his growth phase so I'm looking at his stuff no video has more than 400 views and um so we hop on a call we're kind of talking he's telling me he's doing all the thumbnails himself in canva now they're not the best like if
he I just had to send him maybe like a thumbnail like less text make your face bigger like make it more simple like literally canvas templates are actually bad examples sometimes cuz the people are tiny the words are like tiny and then there's like you know when you see the red one with the yellow thing and the black and white words okay go yeah yeah so after the call I I I one of the takeaways for him I was like okay dude first of all if you can just get a cheap editor for 100 bucks
and a thumbnail designer for like $10 a thumbnail I was like you could like get a lot more reviews just by kind of doing this that's good and so he messaged me like I don't know a couple weeks later within like the first I think 12 hours of the video he posted with the new thumbnail designer and the new editor and he implemented some other stuff um he was getting 400 views per video this 12 hours like almost 2,000 views dude just by so I think thumbnail is a big part of it and it's like
if you have $10 to spend per video it's so cheap and it can really level up like grab their attention make them click anyway I think that's like a nice way to level up I'm going to be Devil's Advocate because you totally missed the step was it bro he hired a he hired a consultant or a coach to tell him he so I think I think there's something there cuz but you're getting so it's learning though because you can do it for free you don't have to hire a coach necessarily but like as long as
you invest in learning yes so I think that's the because there's things he didn't know right and that's I with with a lot of people that we help they don't even know what questions to ask sure so like not only they need to be known to ask the right questions oh I didn't even know I should be asking you know uh how do I find a thumbnail artist he's asking the question how do I get more views yeah so like there A lot of times they ask the wrong questions when you're starting out but yes
he he invested in himself by asking an expert and so I think there's something there like there's you you'll probably save more money in the long run but I mean you stay up and you're you're watching or listening to this you're learning about YouTube so so now whatever he paid to get that information you get access to and that's why just being you know yeah I I just feel like that if I if I started from scratch on YouTube I would commit 90 days and then I would pay somebody who I would respect their input
on and say what should I do now at this point I have 12 videos you know so I I want to ask on this I love this topic and I want to bring Pastor Omar out of you right now okay I want to go deep because I think a lot of people feel this and I've felt this way a long time it's like it there's so much information available but then a lot of people just consume consume consume and never take action how do you go from listening to this podcast and then to actually making
commitment and posting your YouTube video like what I I heard this quote from someone on a on a YouTube video and he was um he was like mentoring this guy and he basically was like if all it took was information you know to achieve your goals everyone who read you know a a money book would become a millionaire but it like requires action right I was like dang that's I'm like but people don't even know how to like how do you make the commitment to start your YouTube channel how do you actually you know it's
because it's so it seems so simple but like people will will watch this video and then just keep watching more YouTube content instead of doing the thing they need to actually do yeah well I mean two scriptures come to mind and the first one that comes to mind is um we're not let's not just be hearers of the word but let's be doers of the word so and then the one that would accompany that I would say is knowledge puffs up so like acquiring knowledge literally is still empty wisdom is actually knowledge applied wisdom isn't
you know getting know isn't getting information wisdom is actually applying the information so it doesn't even become wisdom it doesn't even become tactics it doesn't even become you know useful until you actually use the thing you learn I think yes there is a skill when you hear something you know you're supposed to do and actually implement it and I would say it's it's like it's speed of executing I have a friend who's an entrepreneur he's been on the uh Sean's podcast Ryan pan bro the the way he takes messy action is convicting but it's because
he does not care what people think and and there's so much more learning in the doing than there is in the hearing so this is why I would say what what would it it's kind of like you just got to you just got to start moving on it and just pick the one thing like what's the one next thing I think as long as you're making those like one-step improvements you are taking action so maybe since you asked me this question now if you're listening or watching this video go on your notes app right now
hopefully you have YouTube red and this plays while you exit it out and then you you're typing this is my next action based on our conversation we have so much still to cover but that's what I would say I would say don't don't make it this grandiose thing it's step it's just a little step yeah I love that I love that the Bible says the word is a light to my path so oftentimes people talk about you need to take this leap of faith no dude you need to take one step one step of Faith
light it's like the next there's only enough light for that next step so that's what I would encourage people with this video is brought to you by rev did you know that there are studies that have shown that videos with captions are 80% more likely to be watched in their entirety which is why we trust rev.com their human caption Services ensure Flawless captions for our content and you can use their transcriptions as an aid in video editing and you can get AI captions as a lower cost alternative to their human captions if you want to

now that they are starting they're posting YouTube videos so you pred decided you're committing to a video a week and you're just going to use your phone yep and you're just gonna shoot videos just film yourself talk okay you've niched down Niche down and we're not GNA go super in depth on all of these because like I just shot a video on how to Niche down and so we'll we'll we can link that in the description but like there's even like thumbnails right like we have thumbnail trainings like but this is the path and then
we can we can go in depth on some stuff really quickly before you get there I just know that a lot of people don't want to Niche down yeah so how can you kill that resistance well what do you mean like how can I convince someone to Niche down or or no no uh they don't want to okay because they feel like they're actually limiting themselves by quote unquote niching down just just kill the resistance well I think like I think my wife is a great example for she does uh lifestyle Vlogs and and she's
like she's like I don't want to Niche down I'm doing this for fun like she's just doing it for fun she's doing it for memories and I'm like I think you need to ask yourself why are you doing it so are you is your goal to grow as fast as possible is your that's not my wife's goal she doesn't she doesn't care to grow as fast as possible she's doing it for memories and she's vlogging but I'd also say because she's doing lifestyle Vlogs and it it is like what maybe we might consider random she
has her own niche of like she is she has a one-year-old right um and she's pregnant with you know when's pregnant and like she has these things about her where just naturally she's talking about parenting she's talking about like she almost has her own Niche because it's just who she is right so that's what that's what Gary ve would say that you you are the niche so when if you're if it I would say at some level mine's videos aren't random so if somebody came to her Channel and watched one video it would not be
random that her next upload is a different upload I mean it wouldn't be too far off and so that I mean it's just like a a cardinal sin is kind of don't upload a video your subscribers never came for so she's still staying in line with that so that's good I think that's a good way to approach somebody because maybe you're asking the question you know or you're you're just telling yourself I don't want to Niche down the reality is you could it's still being you but like overall she's she's just it's it's her reason
why is documentation and then also that there's other moms that you know are they like this type of content I I want to ask about your Niche on your new podcast because you know it's it's even called the department and you you're kind of going against like YouTube because you are explain a little bit what is your podcast about and it's growing it's it's really cool but like it's kind of like from an outside perspective it doesn't feel the like super hyperfocused yeah but it's still doing really well so maybe you're the no it's really
good no I've been thinking about it a lot so long story short at the time of filming this we I have I've just released my 13 EP 13th episode so I've been 13 weeks uploading releasing one video podcast episode it I again I felt like I was the niche so I wanted to have conversations that I was genuinely interested in and I think the I think the biggest ingredient to niching down is determining your own personal Curiosities cuz it that's been the that's that's probably been my secret sauce to my podcast right now is my
curiosity has created the niche and so what is my podcast about it's called the department cuz I I actually saw like Alex Heros when he changed his name from like gym launch secrets to the game with Alex heroi he found the broad appeal by by by naming it more broad but it's still business conver it's still business so the department was kind of brought appeal but I'm tackling purpose entrepreneurship uh um sales and marketing uh and and even Faith so it's kind of like a culmination of my my Essence I guess you could say yeah
and so that's how I've been deriving these conversations um I would say video podcasting is more forgiving in that if I made eight minute videos based on all the things from that what we talk about in the podcast I feel like I would lose people but um it's it's that I I and I went into the I went into starting my video podcast with the big picture in mind and that's that's this that I create the expectation that the viewer has with me and if if I could start off with immense Clarity and this is
why you want to learn and you want to grow if you could start off YouTube with immense Clarity you can you can really focus and lock in and so I'm not I'm not wavering on the successes that are currently happening with the podcast I'm just like no dude one conversation a week I I am getting feedback on what people like listening but I'm also getting feedback that people just like me as an interviewer so I'm like cool what okay so I will have to say for people listening though like you do have an advantage which
is you do have a personal brand builtup of like people know you online and so um there there's that aspect of it right so like there you do have people who want to hear you and then you bring on really cool guests yeah I would actually say okay so maybe we could say curiosity was is the secret sauce sure but also yes the relationships so I have relationships with people but it's not people aren't watching my podcast because of who I have on um I actually think because most people don't know who they're watching they're
they're watching because of how I'm contextualizing their genius you know does that make sense so so it really comes down to like I think the um the aspect of because the only the I would say like me me starting the podcast which I started with my wife and and my video guy art it was kind of like I just threw a giveaway around it like I don't think people people didn't watch that cuz they were excited for me to watch a podcast and it's one of the lowest viewed podcasts everybody thinks that your first view
or your first like launch of a channel is going to be the most viewed and then that wasn't the case but I do yeah I would say I did have a personal brand on Instagram that gave me a little bit of an advantage but if anybody would have an email list you have you have an audience if anybody would have people on Facebook or anybody on Instagram you have uh you have an Advantage because there are some people to kind of just watch your first few episodes so I would say then for the person listening
to this like it's it's best to Niche down and choose a channel Focus there are certain people out there maybe you have the personal brand built out and you can kind of do like what you're talking about you've seen success with it right where you've been able to go into different places and different markets you know so to speak on YouTube and still uh see success what do you think um what can you implement based on maybe what we're doing at think Media or you're doing on your podcast that like where's the next step for
that person now who they're Niche down they're starting to invest in like their quality of like their learning yeah right now they're investing maybe in leveling up editing thumbnails and titles and and that they're they're implementing their learnings now it's good where where do you go from there is it is it just consistency is like like what would be that next step is it making a pro way to profit I actually think there you might you might hit a fork in the road of an asking or answering the question that you maybe you asked to
begin with because if you committed that first season or phase into just discovery mode yeah like potentially you might now have this huge business opportunity some people go into it with the business mind a lot of people don't they're just like hey I just want to start making videos I just know people are making video making money posting videos online so I just want to try so that maybe if that was you and you you know you're you're doing the things that we're talking about and you get to that place I would actually start considering
the idea that you need to start building a business around your YouTube channel and and I I would say all businesses foundationally start with growing an email list so I know that would be that would be my thing it would be because if you wanted to sell if you wanted to sell merch or if you wanted to create a product or if you wanted I wouldn't actually create the product first I would actually get people off platform and build a relationship with them there and you do that by giving away something for free um you
know if if there's something that you know that your people have been saying they love about you it might even be like what it is you use like if you're using your gear and people and you're just sharing that type of stuff I would I would say get people start thinking about getting people off the platform before you start to make a product or something okay so I love that idea of building an email list because then you really have control of like interacting with your audience but do that if you know you want to
make money with your YouTube channel do that at the very beginning so this whole time as you're building your YouTube channel also building your email list now they're at the point we like okay I got a thousand people on my email list I got 5,000 YouTube subscribers I had a buddy reach out to me he was like dude I want to start a YouTube channel and he was like if I could just make $2,000 a month extra he goes it would change my family's life wow okay how does he do that then Omar he's got
his email list he he wants to do something in regards to like hunting or whatever right so it's like is is Affiliates the way to go is it AdSense which is like YouTube paying you for people watching your stuff yeah is it probably not brand deals at this point for new people he so he has what's his what's his like he still trying to figure his numbers zero he hasn't started yet oh he has he but he is the person in mind which I think a lot of people here they're like I'm doing a YouTube
channel because I want to make a couple thousand dollars a month extra so what's his Channel about hunting he's still trying to figure it out because I told him to be careful about he was going to go out and like shoot guns and stuff and I was like be careful cuz I'm like I don't know the rules on YouTube about that so I was like I don't know if that's the best Niche necessarily to get into and so he's trying to figure out his Niche still dang but someone someone like that though who's they uh
maybe they have a coffee YouTube channel I always use coffees so they have a coffee YouTube channel um is it Affiliates is it is it reaching out to brands at this stage absense like what would you say because I might have a different answer I mean it's G to be different for different individuals the first thing that comes to mind is just charging for like one-on-one calls okay and it could be about anything honestly so like if he started this hunting channel he can literally send people to like a cenly that's like looking to buy
all the gear you need for hun and then that way you're Consulting a person and that you don't have to sell one-on-one very hard everybody understands there's value in that and he could literally I think here's what's cool about YouTube because it's long form it doesn't take long for people to know that this person knows what they're talking about right so like if if you're like if you're really building a coffe if you're building a coffee YouTube channel and you're talking about how to brew the best coffee at home and you're literal call to action
in your videos just for a moment be like hey if you're actually looking for like the best espresso setup based on your budget or what have you I would check out the link in the description below and book a call with me I would I I would be I wouldn't be surprised like that idea a l because it's it takes a very small point of your time dude I'm think about making merch or like you know like heavy lifting type of stuff but I would say 2,000 bucks a month I would I would just that
would be my first thing I sell I I think so what I would do first is Affiliates because it's so passive that it wouldn't require this person's time in case they have a job where they're not as flexible I what I like about Affiliates and I've I've done Affiliates on my personal Channel and at one point I wasn't posting YouTube videos I'm making two grand a month and it was it's truly passive income yeah that's if you and I would say you you made that quickly because you made very product based videos yeah yeah definitely
yeah definitely so so that's why it's different for everyone yeah if if you're making product based videos it's not a bad idea to yeah have the Affiliates um and then and then the one-on-one could come later I think I think what is cool about the one-on-one thing too is the information you get on these calls because maybe eventually you will build a program or you will make a course but you're gonna have all this data you're gonna be like dang every single person asks me these 10 questions and you make that a product and then
you can give that away or whatever but yeah don't the affiliate thing is is it truly is passive like you said yeah yeah and then you guys can go to think masterclass.com this wasn't even plan to be integrated but I'm like genuinely if you um want to check out our course video ranking Academy Sean kind of breaks down how to you know go on YouTube rank videos which is exactly what I did and utilize Affiliates and um anyway anyway there's a free training that you guys can check out in the link in the description that
will be super helpful for you but without going into all of that I will say YouTube AdSense it doesn't pay as much as people think so I was doing a little bit of math so like if you want to make $2,000 uh a month here's how many views you're going to need um on on YouTube so I basically took $2,000 and on average if you're like under eight minutes videos on average it's like $3 RPMs let say them why should you have a video at least eight minutes though so if you if you go to
eight minutes plus you get mid roll ads and now your RPM how much you get paid from YouTube is going to increase maybe it's like $5 now if you have longer videos that's almost double yeah so if you want to double your AdSense on Youtube upload at least eight long eight minute long videos yep and the longer the better because then more more ads are in there which I want to talk about how much I made okay perfect oh dude I'm excited for this okay but for example if you want to make $2,000 a month
on YouTube let's just take the average $3 RPM you basically need and then I'm going to take this and times a th uh because views okay you need 666,000 views per month let's say you're posting four videos that's a assuming you know YouTube doesn't work this way because you'll continue getting views on old videos but that's 166,000 views per video if aot you know so point is you really you want to consider like what are some other ways to monetize um now of course AdSense can scale up crazy if you're getting a lot of views
and that can be awesome and and passive as well but like utilizing I think what you said uh there's a lot of different ways to do it that we talked about in the channel and speaking of Affiliates you could literally affiliate somebody else's thing yes if there is something you have done and you've paid into chances are you can ask that person for an affiliate you know like you could literally be an affiliate of even our course and make half of every sale and so that that is another way you can get that $2,000 quickly
you know if you if you took a life-changing coaching program and even if one of your videos was a testimonial I would argue that video might cook for you um in that but you said you said that would be the math so yeah I'm I'm curious how much money have you made on your video podcast yeah because it's long form content so give us the time frame and then I want to know like what's the RPM on these they got to be crazy yeah so you're probably better at clicking around and stuff okay let's say
90 days um in the last 90 days so so before yeah in the last 90 days I have made $2,800 with my podcast but in the last 28 days I've made 2600 whoa so so I wasn't making really anything in the first so three months ago you're making like 30 bucks a month whatever or not or 150 bucks a month right and then $2,600 in the last and that and that's because one video kind of took off mhm and on kind of it took off like YouTube just grabbed the video and said we're going to
serve it to everyone and and I was like dang dang the like AdSense is hitting like a thousand bucks a month this month yeah uh and then the the next episode it was the same thing granted here's the here's the hack that that's with a total that that um 28 days 125,000 views which is not that many views wait so what's the RPM then on that I think I'm at um uh I'm amateur hours let's see so if we go over here let's go to revenue um screen little screen share action I'm just kidding $22
RPM so every 1,000 views you're making 22 bucks it's pretty fire which is when I was talking about doing the math on three three bucks like for you to hit 2,000 you know what I mean like that's that's pretty wild so for you to hit $2,000 a month divided by what is $22 you need 90,000 views a month which is very achievable achievable for you and I like we make it sound like it's easy but like you've built this up and so that's pretty cool though so long form content is a crazy money and then
and then the caveat video podcast is a crazy hat yeah the aster to that is where I'm talking a little bit about business yeah and so that's why business and finance get the the highest RPMs which if you didn't know that um it's it's good like if tech is not that bad either like if you if you go electronics and Tech and stuff it's not that bad entertainment is when it's really low when you're just trying to be funny and entertain people that's when you're going to struggle you might get a lot of views but
the payout won't be the same so yeah that's why let's go all the way back and say you got to ask the question why are you doing what you're doing yeah but this is why I love video podcasting dude because I saw it as a number one an outlet to create one high quality piece of content out there on YouTube on my personal Channel but it's given me the so much much ammo for my Instagram so like it it's it's really like killing two birds one stone and I'm taking the audio and then I'm uploading
that audio on all of the audio platforms so it's for a busy individual if you're an entrepreneur or if you're just someone who's like dang there's there's something happening right now there's this wave I could see it I need to jump in I would say a loow hanging fruit way of doing that is is just grab your wife grab your husband grab your kids and literally just start having a conversation so I want to transition into this next phase right and I think like it kind of depends from here at this point that this person
is making money they're growing their YouTube channel they're they're learning they're taking action and they could go a million different ways with it but I kind of want to bring it back to the person who's starting out right we're back at the very beginning and they're somewhere in this journey of starting their YouTube Journey what pitfalls are they going to run into what can they avoid what kind of mistakes are people making that either make them quit YouTube and like they just give up on it you know New Year's resolution and then it's like boom
they're done it's like what happened or maybe they're making some mistakes that they're making that so they're not getting views anymore yep what what would be one of those that you think a lot of people make it's funny because those kind of feed into each other I find that a lot of people give up too soon because they're not getting enough views so they get discouraged I think the crazy thing about that is if you don't know how YouTube actually works I've had videos that 240 days after they've been rele released start taking off two
almost a year so like and like viral taking off yeah and you could you literally could be a year away from that video that you just made before you quit or right before you quit h taking off because you you just stopped uploading yeah so uh I think I think I mean I think a mistake people get is they they get bored they're like man this is boring well you might be get it might be very boring because it's time for you to start working with other people I know it is a lonely Journey if
you are just like grinding and doing all by yourself but even if you found like a collective or you started masterminding with a few friends or maybe maybe you started one you're like hey uh every Monday we're going to meet on zoom and just like you kind of did this right with your so if you just kept if it was just you and you were just cranking it out I I I would imagine you'd get really discouraged but now you have guys being like dude try this thing you know like let's do that so I
think find yourself find a community and I do love that about V is that there's a community of people constantly it's every day it's 247 of people checking in on each other testing video ideas and things like that um but it would be discouragement don't don't allow yourself to live in discouragement it's okay to get discouraged but don't don't live in that because then it's going to cause you to quit and by you quitting there's that ripple effect of what could have been or what should have been uh what probably should have been I I
actually think that if you do not quit on YouTube that is the number one recipe for success is is that the the the trying at YouTube I feel like we're trying at YouTube we still are trying yeah like we're always testing new formats testing new things and that's actually the goal so you know we started this conversation talking about Fitness and that you sometimes have these end goals well no the goal is to build the lifestyle so if if I get discouraged in the journey and it causes me to quit I actually lose because the
goal was to just stay on the journey y so don't allow discouragement to cause you to quit I love that um our video editor for think media Nate he's over here Nate he um he has a similar story with his channel and so Nate's fil Nate Dog Nathan's dogs kidding go ahead his his channel is called uh Nate's film tutorials and do you your video that took off it initially the director's one it didn't take off right away and so and I think he was even you know probably a little bit discouraged because he posted
this video and and I was like dude this video is fire like this is going to get a ton of views and all this stuff and it like just tanked and it it was also at a point for him where he was a slight pivot from like videography to film making and I was like but bro like just commit to the filmm like commit to the pivot and uh is this right here so little screen recording action took 100 days okay so check this out dude dang 100 a 100 days in it ends up getting
6,000 views and how many subscribers you had like 20,000 subscribers at the point so that's not a lot of views for him but after 100 days it jumps up and it just keeps skyrocketing and now it's at 283,000 views wow so ju similar to you right it just like found the audience and here you can take this back name no but and and this is this is actually a a thing that is happening on YouTube okay it's when you're just posting consistently and one video goes nuts what do people do after that one video goes
nuts and what does YouTube do number one people start checking out the other videos YouTube starts serving your next uploads the your older uploads and then it it starts to like fill in your your channel if you hypothetically or you know like an illustration it's like an empty cup let's say you're empty and you have this one go viral and now they're spilling over into other stuff so now my even for me older podcast I uploaded two months ago they're starting to take off but it's because people are starting to binge the channel and it's
because Nate didn't quit that people can now go back they can go forward and so this is why you don't want to quit exactly there's a lot of people who would post a video right and then they would be discouraged after 59 days yeah they would give up and and then like the their Channel takes off and they're like there's all these new viewers coming in and they're they go to your channel like you're inconsistent you don't post anymore right you haven't posted in six months and so what what you have to do is stay
consistent even when it's hard and then YouTube rewards like The Snowball Effect happens through consistency of recommending another one of your videos and another one that's how YouTube works and it's like and honestly if you're in finances there's this term called compound interest I would say this is a little bit more powerful because because the amount of compound interest that takes place with attention then it really puts the ball in your court to be able to do what you want to do sell what you want to sell you know live how you want to live
you know um so yeah I would don't make the mistake of quitting D I feel like we got to wrap it right there you guys can click on the screen check out our other conversation because we got some good comos coming up so we'll see you guys in the next episode
